Police Whisper Into Protesters’ Ear: “Keep On Protesting”
Former New York Times reporter Chris Hedges has previously noted that oppressive regimes fall when their soldiers stop obeying orders and start following the will of the people.
Hedges gave an example from the U.S. In 2010, Hedges, Daniel Ellsberg and 131 veterans were arrested for holding an anti-war protest in front of the White House.
Everyone was arrested, their wrists tied with plastic restraints, and hauled off to jail. So – on the surface – it looked like the police unquestioningly cracked down on the protest.
But Hedges says (in a speech broadcast on public radio station last week) that – as their wrists were being tied – the police officer whispered in the protesters ears:
“Keep protesting. Keep doing what you’re doing, because these wars stink.”
Hedges later explained that the police were vets, too. And they knew recent American wars have been fought for oil and geopolitical power … not to protect America.
Postscript: American military heroes have also blown the whistle on things which could have led to nuclear war.
And Pulitzer prize-winning reporter Seymour Hersh claims that top-level U.S. military officials are disregarding Obama’s dangerous orders to oust Syria’s Assad.
No wonder veterans are considered terrorists by the USG.

Millions of damaged, PTSD suffering vets, what could go wrong?
Look at the Washington Naval Yard Shooter. A common theme, is that they're almost all treated at VA Hospitals. Thin about it, they'd make great subjects. Type in these four words and see what you get

I certainly won't argue with that as a possibility, but it would leave hardware behind. Another possibility is Scopolamine - or - Devils' Breath. This stuff has been around for years - and I'd feel pretty secure betting that the psychos in the "intelligence" community have weaponized it and perfected several means of administering it. It certainly would explain how someone like James Holmes finds himself sitting in a jail cell 36 hours after supposedly shooting up a theater and asks the guard (sic) "How did I get here? What happened?" - and also looking like he's on another planet in his mug shots.
If they ever decide to try to disarm the vets... well let's just say that it's not going to go very well at all.
First enable them to homelessness....
Disarming solves itself.
That's not working so well. There will always be firearms available to these people. That's not a problem.
History is not your friend. There has been no data backing up that thought....
Correct.
That's why they seem to have fell in love with kids controlling drones with joysticks from thousands of miles away. But there's even a problem with that, "those kids" also have brothers, fathers, uncles, mothers, sisters & aunts.
Always think two steps ahead, Merry Christmas Sam, wherever you are.

Returning to this because of the paranoid psycho's in the "intelligence community"...his name isn't Sam ;-)
Just imagine the carnage if the "government" ever came for the guns: all of it would be in D.C., as when those "confiscators" went door to door to take the guns, they would whisper "We didn't find any guns here. Meet as at...on...and we're going to have a very good use for all that ammo that wasn't here also..."
Based on the numbers of the Revolution, millions will willingly turn over their guns to the state. Many millions more will hide their guns. Like all government actions, the confiscations will spin out of control. People will die. Some particularly poignant death will light the fuse and roughly three percent of the population will swarm the state minions and shoot them to pieces. That is the moment the second American revolution begins. Our goal should be to guide that revolution back towards a constitutional republic. We don’t need another Lincoln or Roosevelt. We need a Washington.
"meet us here"....yeah right;
what do I look like? I just fell off the turnip truck or sumpin?

Oh, but you don't understand: they are duty bound to obey the orders of their commanding officer. They couldn't actually override their obedience to authority by honoring their oath to the constitution. They might actually have to take a principled stand and lose their jobs, their benefits, etc.
I am Chumbawamba.
As a standing army, their very jobs defy the Contitution. A principled stand is going to cost lots people their jobs.
So much for rules.
They will continue to pay Police Forces, National Guard & US Armed Forces who all have families, debts and bills to pay after a monetary collapse
With what exactly?
With Future Debt....
That devalues on the half hour?
chumba, wrong. They are NOT duty bound to obey orders that violate the law. Individual officers might agree with the protesters for political reasons, but agreeing for LAWFUL reasons is another thing. In the post, it uses the term "officers" (plural), but I suspect it was really only one and not the whole police force. And, whispers, are hard to prove or disprove. Most officers try to stay neutral, do their job, and avoid conflicts....... until it comes to breaking the law, then they confront their supervisors. Personal experience.
I sense you have a disdain for police from the way you comment on them, so your views carry NO weight for me since they are influenced by your past contacts with same.
xavi1951, assume retired on a public sector pension if you were born in '51?
Here come the property tax and "local fees" increases to keep paying public pensions & benefits. Don't forget the salaries of those six figure wunderkinds that run your cities and counties!
Same argument as SSA
Retired yes, public sector pension no.
There has been and still are many unconstitutional laws enforced by the police, knucklehead!
I'd say "your past contacts" and "Personal experience" have influenced your point of view a bit too.
In all the YouTube videos of Cops illegally forcing people to give up their camera or shut it off while filming in Public and even on their own property, have you ever seen his partner correct him?
When the young man in Chicago, tripping on drugs, had over a dozen bullets pumped into him, why did all the other Cops stand there and watch this Lunatic commit murder, then back him for over a year and not prosecute the nut until a Judge orders the video released??
Not to mention the out right lawless covert actions of many agencies through out our Government. Agencies who operate illegally, then belligerently refuse to cooperate with the Congressional Committees duly charged with their oversight.
I have a hell of a lot of respect for the job they do, but there are deep rooted institutional problems in a system that lies to the People and protects the bad apples!
All the other cops at the LaQuan Memorial Shooting were justly afraid of having to proceed with a possible career ending act. They all sat around until the real police showed up and confronted the drugged up slasher/innocent, put upon minority. When Homes turned on the cop with the knife, he was put down with lawful force. After the first bullet struck, at which bullet did it change to murder 1?
If I was CPD, I would do the minimum Baltimore style policing and glide on into retirement, if there even be such a thing, in the People's Paradise of Illinois.
FORWARD SOVIET PENSIONS!
Downers Away, my boys!
Tarzan, you are right, my personal experience has influenced my point of view, as does everyones. I'm a Knucklehead? Sure at times. Until the Courts rule a law unconstitutional, it has to be obeyed, by everyone, because it's the law.
There were times when I would disagree with 'the law' but I was bound to follow it. Like domestic violence cases in California. We used to give couples cool-off time apart, now, usually the man gets arrested because the Legislature changed the law and rules that go with it. They want somebody, the man, arrested to protect the woman. It's pure BS but, it's the law.
Estimates are 120,000 to 150,000 law enforcement personel in the U.S. If only 1% screw up, there will be a lot of YouTube videos. As for correcting each other in public. It would have to be really bad for me to stop another officer. If he wants to act like an idiot, on camera, that's his problem. I would not participate in unprofessional behavior. I've seen people with cameras and phones doing video and I loved it. If I was doing my job in a professional way, the video would come in handy for any suit claiming brutality. I like the idea of body cameras for that reason.
Why the Chicago cover-up? It's Chicago! Also, they should have promoted the officer before he had a chance to do much harm./s Honestly, during my career, I saw many, incompetent, total fuck-ups get promoted. The only logic I could come up with was either; 1) they were sucking somebody off, 2) they had dirt on somebody, 3) they would be grateful for the promotion and do whatever 'they were told'.
Out right covert actions? Operate illegally? I have no idea what you are talking about there without specifics.
There are problems in many agencies, but it's not as rampant as some would like to believe. Over the years, I witnessed outright racism in the Department I worked for. In order to hire more minorities, they changed the test by dumbing it down. They gave test tutoring to minorities only. I suspect many agencies were doing the same thing to comply with hiring standards imposed on them. The result, a lot of incompetent fuck-ups of all races. You can thank the progressives for pushing equality in law enforcement. Law enforcement now reflects the community, to the communities detriment.
The courts have ruled that cops have discretion with regards to enforcing the law, even to the point where not enforcing it leads to somebody's death. A cop can choose to not enforce the law, especially if he believes it to be unconstitutional. Cops in California could choose to not arrest the man if there was no evidence that he had done anything wrong, the man could then kill the wife, and the cops who failed to arrest the man would win any lawsuit filed against them by the family of the wife, despite what the CA law or their department's policies say.
This would rest on top of the case law that says cops have no obligation to protect the public.
-Chumblez.
You mean like Castle Rock v Gonzalez?
I think if you mull over your statement you will see where your wrong.
Laws change constantly, The Constitution, with rare exception, does not. The People are under no legal obligation to follow an unconstitutional law.
If the problem were just the "1%" who are "screwing up" we could deal with that. But when half the force is protecting that nut, or as you say "promoting" him, the whole system has a problem. You say you have no idea why they protected that Chicago cop. Common, no idea, really?
How about we start here "It would have to be really bad for me to stop another officer." Well killing a man in cold blood and then covering his ass for a year is pretty fucking bad, and nobody stopped him. If it were not for the Judge ordering the video released he would never been charged. Blowing that off with "Its Chicago!" doesn't cut it. My middle son and his Fiancee live in Logan Park. The People of Chicago are not a bunch of disposable riff raff we can just blow off as a lost cause.
You have "no idea" about the IRS targeting political opponents and then lieing to congress, refusing to turn over public records, emails etc? or the State Department refusing to turn over emails and stonewalling congress? Or the Head of the NSA lying to congress under oath? Or fast and furious? Or the State Dept looting Libya's weapons and selling them to insurgents in Syria through Benghazi, then lying to Congress under oath about it?
You rely far too much on your personal experience, you should read more.
Cops, the Military, and Washington officials commonly operate outside of what's constitutional with impunity through institutionalized systemic fraud that grows by the day! Our Government institutions daily become more and more lawless! While Washington focuses like a laser beam on The People being a threat to them, putting us on secret lists, labeling conservative constitution minded Citizens as potential terrorists, attempting to take our guns, violating our freedoms and our privacy by reading our mail, listening to our private conversations, and picking winners and losers by who will best line their pockets and preserve their power.
You say it's not rampant, while we are on the verge of loosing this Republic!
The People are OBLIGATED to NOT FOLLOW unconstitutional laws, and to rise up against even our own Cops and Washington when the scales of justice tip toward tyranny! But The People, like you, are asleep at the wheel.
Obligated, if we expect to hold onto our Republic!
Franklin replied, “A republic . . . if you can keep it.”
Tarzan,
Okay, you interpreted my remark as blowing off Chicago. It wasn't. I thought it was obvious. It's Chicago!
What started as a conversation about Police, you are now saying I am wrong by bringing in other Gov. components. IRS, Military, Wash. officials, Gov. Institutions, State Dept.,NSA. I am all for abolishing the IRS, NSA and cleaning out the current Wash. officials, State Dept., and eliminating many Gov. Institutions. Does that help?
You lead the way, disobey laws that YOU think are uconstitutional. Do that "OBLIGATED to NOT FOLLOW" thing and let me know how it goes. Rise up now. According to ZH. we have a Tyranny now. Let me know about that too.
I bring up the other institutions to point out that we are not obligated to follow unconstitutional laws and to prove they are not following it themselves!
I bring it into the conversation because of your stupid assertion that unconstitutional laws "MUST BE FOLLOWED".
I'll let you lead the way with the masses in their stupor, you sit back and watch the Country destroyed from within, waiting on .Gov to give you permission to "be secure in your persons".
I will continue to speak the truth, and avoid the crowd, until they show up in my neighborhood and threaten my family and friends. I will rise up by refusing to to give up my gun, put down my camera, or submit to their unlawful searches. I will rise up by being aware of their lies and their march toward lawlessness.
I highly recommend you read The Law, by Frédéric Bastiat
It's a short book and easy read. It explains why blind obedience to law destroys the benefits of law.
I did NOT say "MUST BE FOLLOWED". You are free to follow the law or not. There are consequences for not following the law, regardless of its constitutionality. I believe the BOOKS are packed with unconstitutional laws that us masses in our stupor follow. I suspect you even follow a few. Most gun owners do. The SA is violated all the time, but the consequences of 'rising up' against them is to lose your guns, another violation of the SA. Hence, the NRA was formed to challenge those laws. As long as libtards are appointed to the Courts, the NRA keeps getting beat down and has to file appeal after appeal. And appeals have consequences too. They cost money. The Gov is using our tax dollars to argue for its unconstitutional laws.
Many posts, similar to yours, speak bravely about rising up, refusing to follow laws, don't talk to the cops, and so on. Few people are foolish enough to actually do those things, and those that do, usually don't like the consequences.
Yes, there are consequences if people do nothing about unconstitutional laws. Open organized rebellion may be the only way to clean house, but anarchy is not and the ballot box is controlled by slugs wanting more handouts.
Merry Christmas
Chumba, Right... I sense you have a disdain for people that actually have to work for a living, from they way that you comment on them, so your views carry NO wieght for me since they are influenced by your union job and paycheck, coupled with the fact that you let other men order you around, for a dollar... Do you always do what other men tell you to do? Maybe you were born that way!
Chumba nailed it on the head.... and as for me, I personally cant wait for them to confiscate your pension.... Karma BITCH
OregonGrown, PM me...
OregonGrown, You apparently don't know anything about police work, nobody orders officers around. They are individual units that work as a team when needed. And, I suppose you refuse to pay taxes every year, or does the IRS order you around? As for my pension. It is not a government pension, it is a private pension so 'they' won't confiscate it unless they confiscate everyones and that would put you in the boat with me, unless you haven't saved. I have also managed to squirrel away a few million on the side, having anticipated bail-ins, so I think I will survive the financial doom to come. I hope that won't make me a 1% and give you another reason to not like me.
Are you a Duck or a Beaver?
I doubt that you are honest, as a police officer, I hardly doubt you would be able to get your hands on a few million, and a private pension.
In anticipation of your comments, I did get arrested once, for not complying with an order from the police to allow him to search me without probable cause. In the end it was thrown out, my record completely expunged from the system and it is the only time I have been arrested or given any kind of sanction by the Police, that does not mean I have not had many run ins with them, they have seen what they thought it was an easy target and have found out the contrary to be real, and after argumenting and recording their actions at the same time in over a dozen times I have manged to publicly humiliate them, verbally bash them and told them to fuck off, because they were abusing their "authority" given to them by me.
No I am not black, nor am I brown, Arab, latino, etc... I dress conservatively and do not break the law either, I just do not like answering questions nor I have to, there is no reason for police to approach me for parking anywhere that is public property where one is allowed to park, nor there is a reason for police to approach you and ask you questions for walking in a tough neighbourhood even if you are white and well dressed. I do have money and are well respected, but also a free man, and I can tell you to FUCK THE POLICE all and every single one of them, the few honest ones as well for not resisting, and the corrupt ones with a few millions, obviously.
Your System is putrid, your "Authority" is ours, your risk does not come for free it is paid, your service and the protection of our rights is demanded, Police should be the first to respect and protect individual rights, not the other way around.
I WON'T ARGUE WITH A ROCK with and attitude. Doubt it all you want. You don't know sh!t. I told the truth!
May you have many more contacts with the police.
^+1000^
OG, do you have a disposable email you can post here?>
This is really funny. Yeah Chumba, you Union loving, pension dick swinging mother fucker.
Forgot the <sarc>
Or your meds
Nah, it was easy to misinterpret to whom "Oregon" was addressing his comment. I had to re-read the thread a couple times myself. At first it does sound as if the very new member had a completely bass-ackward take on one of ZH's few remaining old-timers, and it was pretty funny.
Somehow I think the Pig's whisper would be a bit more stunning if he were to shout "I cannot arrest this man, therefore I quit."
But hey, momma needs a new pair of shoes.
And if the pigs think they will be welcomed back into the community after things go sour, have them wear their uniforms as they come back.
I bet you once the checks bounce, the uniforms are off like a prom dress.
