"Refuse To Compromise", Ron Paul Implores "Purism Is Practical"
Submitted by Ron Paul via The Ron Paul Institute for Peace & Prosperity,
Those who advocate ending, instead of reforming, the welfare-warfare state are often accused of being “impractical.” Some of the harshest criticisms come from libertarians who claim that advocates of “purism” forgo opportunities to make real progress toward restoring liberty. These critics fail to grasp the numerous reasons why it is crucial for libertarians to consistently and vigorously advance the purist position.
First, and most important, those who know the truth have a moral obligation to speak the truth. People who understand the need for drastic changes in foreign, domestic, and, especially, monetary policy should not pretend that a little tinkering will fix our problems. Those who do so are just as guilty of lying to the public as is a promise-breaking politician. Attempting to advance liberty by lying is not just immoral; it is also a flawed strategy that is doomed to fail.
The inevitable failure of “reforms” that do not eliminate the market distortions caused by government intervention will be used to discredit both the freedom philosophy and its advocates. The result will be increased support for more welfare, more warfare, and more fiat money. Thus, those who avoid discussing the root causes of our problems, not those they smear as impractical purists, are the ones undermining liberty.
For example, many Obamacare opponents refuse to advocate for true free-market health care. Instead, they propose various forms of “Obamacare lite.” By ceding the premise that government should play a major role in health care, proponents of Obamacare lite strengthen the position of those who say the way to fix Obamacare is by giving government more power. Thus, Obamacare lite supporters are inadvertently advancing the cause of socialized medicine. The only way to ensure that Obamacare is not replaced by something worse is to unapologetically promote true free-market health care.
This is not to suggest libertarians should reject transitional measures. A gradual transition is the best way to achieve liberty without causing massive social and economic disruptions. However, we must only settle for compromises that actually move us in the right direction. So we should reject a compromise budget that “only” increases spending by 80 percent. In contrast, a budget that actually reduces spending by 20 percent would be a positive step forward.
Those who advocate a so-called extreme position can often move the center of political debate closer to the pure libertarian position. This can actually increase the likelihood of taking real, if small, steps toward liberty. More importantly, the best way to ensure that we never achieve real liberty is for libertarians to shy away from making the case for the free society.
Sometimes ideological movements are able to turn yesterday’s “fringe” ideas into today’s “mainstream” position. Just a few years ago it was inconceivable that a significant number of states would legalize medical, and even reactional, marijuana or that a majority of states would have passed laws allowing citizens to openly carry firearms. The success of these issues is not due to sudden changes in public opinion, but to years of hard work by principled advocates and activists.
The ever-growing number of Americans who are joining the liberty movement are not interested in “reforming” the welfare-warfare state. They also have no interest in “fixing" the Federal Reserve via “rules-based” monetary policy. Instead, this movement is dedicated to auditing, then ending, the Fed and stopping the government from trying to run the economy, run the world, and run our lives. If this movement refuses to compromise its principles, we may succeed in restoring a society of liberty, peace, and prosperity in our lifetimes.

He does pretty good, but us lil folk can take up the slack pretty good if we want. And the more the lil folk take up the slack, the more people like Ron Paul will be able to openly state.
This is an exercise in adolescent psychology.
That is an unsubstantiated opinion.
No, it is quite substantiated.
Perhaps you look for something more substantial than little boys in high places.
That would be your mistake... and then you're missing the show.
It is unsubstantiated because you simply stated an opinion with no facts or analysis to back it up. It's not my fault that you can't follow through on anything.
Ron Paul was the only true answer to this mess. But the MSM sheep who see the goobermint as mommy and daddy could never face the truth. So here we are. Grow some balls people! And if you cant grow balls, (theres a lot of you out there) follow the ones who can.
The people living off of the current system are now the mainstream of American society. Theses people know the system is broke but to fix it now means that they will impoverish themselves. Therefore, change will not come as per popular vote. Instead the system will only change as a result of implosion due to some unforeseen event. Just get ready.
implosion = blood.
Every now and then Ron is spot on, then he just barfs all over himself. Like this.
Colorful language is not a substitute for a concrete argument. If you had a point perhaps you should have made it.
Read it over and over until you catch on. Pay attention for weasel wordings.
It would be better if you did those things and then presented a concise analysis of your conclusions.
Its 2016, time you did your own thinking.
Why did you comment in the first place if you refuse to say anything of substance? Either back up your arguments or shut up.
Cuz Im trying to get you to learn to think clearly all by yourself. I wont always be around to give you the answers.
Well, there's something to look forward to.
lol
Did you think of that all by yourself? Is that the kind of results I can expect by following your advice on independent thinking? What's the advanced course, emoticons?
Tune in tomorrow....
Well it looks like I still need to take a few more dogmas for a short walk.
you're on a roll tonight billy--many +ones
by the way my starting point is to recognize that gov't is obsolete---just should be ignored and relegated to the dust bin of historical annomallies like the age of dinosaurs ----"and children, here we have a recreation of what was known as the age of governments-- notice the bowed heads and bent knees of the underlings as one of the annointed class passes by"
by the way my starting point is to recognize that gov't is obsolete---just should be ignored and relegated to the dust bin of historical annomallies like the age of dinosaurs
I agree.
But as a free individual my position is stronger when there is a Ron Paul in the world who takes his stand for liberty in his own way on his own ground. Just because Ron fights differently than I do doesn't mean that I won't cheer for him. The more the merrier.
Ron Paul is a statesman--he requires logic and fairness with honesty and moral action as means to his end---god bless him---his way was the best way to return to the vision of the founders--as we understand it. However men are foolish and will drive off the cliff before taking the road around the mountain-
I think we will have some hard times in the world before this is over--
I read once--"a prophet is despised in his own country"
edit- (I once read)
Again, we agree.
I guess what I do not understand is how the US government was able to pledge title to land they did not own to the Federal Reserve Bank.
Any law that the US government created that stole the people's land seems illegal (even if constitutional) and potentially unconstitutional (if the constitution was not properly amended).
However, this does explain how Congress and the president now feel fine about passing laws without constitutional amendment. They are operating under an unconstitutional system and have been for a while ... the people however, probably rightfully believe that they are governed by a constitutional system ... which means the US government is not the government for the American people and such a government has not existed for some time.
Doesn't seem to make much sense arranging talking bullet points while the opposition is loading real bullets to counter your argument.
keyboard is mightier than an AK (til the power goes out at least)
Not afraid to speak out? That has become dangerous here in the land of Change and Hope.
Time to face facts, our government is as corrupt as they come. They obey laws when convienient and punitivily enforce others for personal/political gain. How do you fix that? by voting?Ooops... sorry folks but the two party system we feed the masses is in reality a giant whore mongering of who can jam the most corporate donations up their asses. But not to worry the Donald will make America Great again! Please tell me I'm having a freaking nightmare as the whole world unveils as a giant screen TV in UltraHD. It's playing as written by Hollywood and paid for by the Bankers. Even ISIS has better production values than the WB.
A very small number of people in finance control almost everything and do nothing. Who, how why...we have good guesses and some decent theories, the question remains, how to you stop such evil? This next collapse appears by design.
Islam, tells a lot about the fate of humanity. Fastest growing religion in the world, based on the lies of a theiving, murdering, rapist pedophile. I'm not sure how the dude gets a pass on all this, but he left notes for Bill Clinton but sadly not for Bill Cosby.
To expect reform is certainly an admirable goal, however until we can throw off the chains of debt slavery, we can have no meaningful reform.
Ron Paul is correct as usual. It's time to draw the line and stick to it; compromise would just keep the enemy's system alive for another go around. Just wait for them to collapse and don't give them any air to breath.
Sometimes you have to try to see through the doom and gloom to the sunshine on the other side. The world has never been closer to getting rid of oligarchs and their "government" slavery.
I agree with Dr. Paul and some of you do not seem to get his point or at least the balance.
You want to just end Social(ism) Security? Good luck short of a revolution and even then you will leave hard working people who cannot make alternate plans out in the cold. A good compromise? Offer to buy it out with a one time cash payment that is too good to pass up...with full property rights and control. It would go over with 95% of the public. Offer to leave those who want in the current system explaining that all their money can be borrowed (stolen), with no property rights, payouts adusted (downwards) at any time and no inheritances. This is a compromise to the Right and to freedom that is possible.
I thought it was an original idea and then I saw the Milton Friedman suggested it long before me. Damn!
Obamacare can be totally repealed because it is a total POS if you know anything about it and it is probably hated more than anything else by many classes of people. However, there will have to be fixes for those who picked up insurance and got stuff covered but now have dropped out of being insurable.
The stupid fucking Republicans seem not to realize that the longer you let things like Obamacare stay in place, the more financial and economic structures that build up around them. Eventually, a defense coalition will form around it from any and all who have found out how to profit from loopholes or even the straight up statutes.
Too many Republicans are also for large government. They just generally want to run it better...which enables the Democrats/leftists to institute even more later. It is like the wife of the drunk who makes the bills and barely holds stuff together while hubby binges and smacks her around.
Well try this for an expriement.
Return money to the people.
Then let them tax the people to pay for the things they want just do not allow them to borrow money to do this.
Priorities will then exert themselves naturally.
Almost HALF of what they say they must have they CAN NOT HAVE IT"S MADE UP ie, there is NO MONEY TO PAY FOR IT.
The levels of taxation required to provide it would quickly re-orient spending priorities.
Most people in prison would be set free.
Our military would re-learn how to protect us within a sensible budget with crap that actually gives us a bang for our buck, all the illusions of what we can have would melt away.
What would be left would be reality and oh boy compared to the fakery now it would suck but it WOULD BE REAL and more importantly it would be SUSTAINABLE.
All this is going to happen one way or another.
Something is either sustainable or it's not and our current setup is mathematically absurdly unsustainable.
Time for those in Oregon to stand down...I am proud of them, but they made their point.. they showed how judges are corrupt, how CNN lies, and how BLM is corrupt...thats enuf for now. They do not need to leave in defeat, because they brought much good also. They also showed that we are willing to fight back...I dont care about stupid gun laws, most people already have guns. Obama has been great for making this happen. If they leave now, and use social media that they were making a point, and wanted no violence like the federal government does, etc, they can get home to their families and feel good for what they did and go from here. THey made their point, so go home now and keep up the fight. It rally is time they go home now in the moral higher ground. If they dont go home and cause violence and death, then they lose all credibility..There will come a time for this, but right now is not the time...But thanks to all of those who went there and made a stand..I appreciate you...go home now and lets start a new strategy..you did well grasshopper, but go home now.
I recently re entered the workforce (seasonal employment) and took a look around at the Zombies.
I can report, without hesitation, that we are doomed.
Public schools give lie to the idea you can incrementally preserve or arrest statism at some optimum level.
Incrementalism is the fulcrum the full blown statists use to chip away at the purists.
It's a binary option, freedom or enslavement.
The chipping starts with increasing powers to the .gov the federal version and then later it usurps the whole of the economy.
It's about money and the monetary system if you sell all of it back to the public but leave that the way it is it will be no time before they buy it all up again.
Prudent and sound money and banking is the foundation of freedom.
It's not about local governments that can't print money choosing to have a public school funded in a socialistic manner it's about infinite fiat that can buy everything in sight that needs to be done away with.
Do away with that and the laws of math and economic choices will put a lid on rampant government over reach.
"A gradual transition is the best way to achieve liberty without causing massive social and economic disruptions.".....
LMAO!....Yeah, tell that to George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams......
Maybe I`m wrong, but I don`t think the declaration of Independance proposed a gradual transition from English rule.....
.
To say the least, it's a hard problem to try to fix a system that is so blatantly corrupt and protected at a systemic level. Is it so naive to propose solutions that include audits and transparency in every level of government with a view to disbanding agencies that are too corrupt to reform? Well, it's a good start. Then you'll have to roll back protections given to the multinational entities and its oligarchs, tackle organised crime within the MIC. Then finally, the biggest hurdle of all: The intelligence agencies that are individually, as big as city states, many already infiltrated by the usual foreign power.
It's not impossible and these ideas need to be aired often by decent men like Dr.Paul even if they seem insurmountable right now.
Right now, Ron Paul is just about the only leader out there with the knowledge, will, and credibility from having tried to work within the system for the last 40 years. Will they try to take him out? I doubt it. That would be the last straw for half of middle America. I don't think they have to the balls to do something like that. He's not a man given to hyperbole or reactionary thinking. He knows the laws, knows the insiders and along with a handful of other thinking, educated and experienced Americans could form the nucleus of this thing going forward. But first and foremost they have to see one thing. That Americans, across the board want changes, big changes and fast AND will stand up for it.
Hmmm...
If this movement refuses to compromise its principles, we may succeed in restoring a society of liberty, peace, and prosperity in our lifetimes.
Good luck - but I think you are over the event horizon on that...
RP is promoting a complete free market in health care divorced from government.
He recognizes the problem with today's healthcare is government-protected Monopoly Medicine.
It's unaffordable because there is no competition between the various types of medicine.
Our state governments gave accident or Allopathic medicine a government-protected monopoly to
diagnose, treat and cure ALL medical afflictions including degenerative diseases that represents 90% of medical care.
Did you know that Big Pharm drugs are mostly petroleum-based synthetic chemicals that poison the liver and present a huge burdon on the body to eliminate?
The body doesn't recognize these foreign substances.
Much of the world is using cheap Chinese, Naturopathic, Homeopathic or Ayurvedic medicine and they aren’t dropping like flies like Americans want to believe.
Monopoly Allopathic Medicine has duped Americans into believing that disease strikes randomly like lightning from germs and that we have little control over our health.
Louis Pasteur, the founder of the Germ Theory of Disease, finally admitted on his death bed that germs don’t cause disease but the terrain is the chief cause.
The terrain is the state of cleanliness or toxicity in the body that enables our immune system to reverse or prevent disease.
Allopathic Monopoly Medicine completely ignores toxicity, detoxification, nutrition and natural immunity as all the alternative medicines emphasize.
With government-protected Monopoly Medicine, it's all about managing disease not curing it, maximizing profits and getting patients on daily "maintenance" drugs, using costly surgery and interventions with toxic vaccines.
Like the corrupt Fed, these are the last days of government-protected monopolies and if they had to compete with cheaper, safer and far more effective
natural medicine like Homeopathy, Naturopathy or Chinese Medicine they would likely be starved for patients.
The last time the dangerous Allopaths competed in the marketplace in 1900 they could only attract 14% of patients.
The public was afraid of them and fortunately there was back then a free market in medicine so the public chose affordable, safe and vastly more effective natural medicine.
In the 1918 Flu Pandemic, the Allopaths lost 30% of their patients. The Alternative Medical providers lost 1%.
Allopaths were known as the Quicks (later Quacks) for the quicksilver or mercury they poisoned their patients with.
They're still poisoning patients with toxic mercury in vaccines along with aluminum, MSG and formaldehyde embalming fluid.
And that's besides the toxic infectious agents that starts a brushfire in the brain for life causing Autism and Schitzophrenia. Senior CDC scientists have known this for 80 years.
They're also poisoning and killing patients with chemotherapy for cancer that's a derivative of WW1 mustard gas.
Because we allowed the European Black Nobility - Organized Crime through their Jesuit, Zionist and Masonic agents to take over our money and medicine
about 100 years ago, we allowed the quacks of the day, a government-protected monopoly and drove out the true healers.
The sheeple to this day still believe the myth that Ambulance Allopathic Medicine earned it's
government-protected monopoly status because it's the only "proven and scientific" medicine.
Nothing could be further from the truth. It's a vicious, cruel lie that 90% of Americans not only believe, but
even defend because they have been chemically dumbed-down with vaccines, fluoridated water and GMO food to name a few.
Forget about government-protected monopolies containing costs and becoming affordable, our hidden rulers are getting a huge belly laugh on their way to
the bank as they have handicapped the public with poisons in the food, air, water and medicine.
Visit naturalnews.com and mercola.com and educate and treat yourself with cheap, safe and effective
natural medicine that cleans up your immune system terrain and turns on powerful prevention.
Empower yourself and dispel the myth, power and fraud of Monopoly Quack Medicine.
Allopathic Ambulance Medicine specializes in stabilizing traumatic accidents and that’s what they should be restricted to doing.
PBS doctor Andrew Weil MD says that Allopathic Medicine has no business treating degenerative
diseases just as natural medicine has no business treating accident victims.
We’ve all been duped by our organized-crime hidden rulers into believing false paradigms about medicine and money.
It’s time we woke up and started controlling our economic future and health. We will all find that the body is enormously powerful in keeping us healthy
without the poisoning agendas and interventions of corrupt men.
See this video describing this handicapping agenda by neurosurgeon Dr Russell Blaylock MD for a real eye-opener.

Peaceful Non Compliance / Non Participation. into their Criminal System of Debt, Bondage & Enslavement.
I never voted or played by the rules but it's harder to avoid rules these days.
I avoided pension deductions by working black but later would just register a UK limited company at company house for 100 pounds.
I managed my small companies to avoid most taxes through a good knowledge of the tax system and almost crooked accountants.
In the 80's HM Inland revenue claimed they had made a mistake over my tax assesment for the prior 4 years and demanded 30,000 in back taxes.
I moved abroad and never payed.
Later, for around 20 years i invoiced through a Jersey office as a non resident UK citizen living in third party country - the three country rule - zero tax or deductions - doubled the cash flow.
It's more difficult and expensive to do these days but not impossible.
I just kept moving and changing companies and eventually their paper trail on me just dried up completly.
Havn't worked since 02 so my wife submits a dual tax statement for the two of us - zero taxes - though kids grown up now so may start paying something soon!
All my savings went into silver around 05 - i rarely touch money these days and live frugally - but i'm still free and hope to die that way.
Yes refuse to compromise and profit too.
