New Gallup Poll – Americans Consider Government A Much Bigger Problem Than Guns

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Mike Krieger via Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

U.S. President Barack Obama is not just the world’s best gun salesman, he’s also the world’s worst gun control spokesperson.

Despite immediately politicizing every single shooting event in recent years by using his bully pulpit to lecture the American public on why citizens must give up their rights to feel safe, his message has fallen on deaf ears. Why?

Mainly because a man who consistently orders drone strikes on women and children all over the world, intentionally bombs a Doctors Without

Borders hospital into oblivion, and who launched more shady wars across the globe than George W. Bush, doesn’t exactly hold much credibility as a humanitarian pacifist looking to “save the children.”

– From the post: A Majority of Americans Oppose “Assault Weapons Ban” – Highest Number on Record

We learned the above just last month, which makes the latest findings on how Americans view gun control consistent with previously observed attitudes. Meanwhile, Nick Gillespie over at Reason explains the latest poll results from Gallup, and  highlights how Obama continues to force an alternative agenda on the American people:

The first major action taken by Barack Obama in 2016—a set of new gun-control measures mandated via executive order—is aimed at a threat that Americans don’t spend a lot of time worrying about.

In its latest survey of Americans, Gallup finds that “dissatisfaction with government,” not guns or even terrorism, tops the list of concerns:

Obama’s new actions against guns include expanding background checks; changing definitions of mental illness in a way that limits who is able to own guns; increasing the number of federal agents charged with tracking gun sales and crimes; and more.

Because violent crime, including gun-related crime and murders, is way down, gun-control issues don’t generally capture the public imagination the way that they would in a world of increasing murder rates. In the same Gallup survey that listed “dissatisfaction with government” as the top concern for each of the past two years, “guns/Gun control” was considered “the most important problem” by 2 percent of respondents, about the same who listed “lack of respect for each other” and pollution.

Yet Obama pushes forward with measures that even he acknowledges “will save few lives,” almost certainly more out of politics than an interest in dealing with the most serious problems facing the country.

Obama’s willingness to always pivot to issues that are not front and center, along with his willingness to expand the role of the state in virtually every aspect of our lives from health care to mass surveillance is surely a big part of the reason why people are consistently worried more about government than anything else. In this, of course, he’s had plenty of help from Republicans and his fellow Democrats, which also helps to explain another Gallup finding released this time last year: “In U.S. New Record 43% Are Independents.”

Now let’s look at the detailed breakdown from Gallup. It’s not even close, gun control barely registers.

Congress and the President have low approval ratings and many people do believe that they are "public enemy #1"; that fits well with what Scripture states as a side note. We know that the lessor of two evils is still evil and that the choice being limited to two is by design and the outcome is always the same regardless of the party because they are "bought and paid for" by the ruling class behind the scenes.  Sad but true, but the good news is that, in my opinion, that God ultimately is in control and I, personally, find comfort on that.

For our battle is not against flesh and blood (individuals per se), but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. - Ephesians 6:12

The "government" has abandoned all Rule of Law.

Why should we obey any unconstitutional edict by this Muslim Communist? I think there is a very good probablility he is importing individuals in order to create cells to call up at the right time. My belief is he is determined to burn this nation to the ground and salt the earth for his Masters...

I am sure everyone can come up with imaginative ways to "get rid" of their gunz. Any nearby forest is a great place to "get rid of" your gunz, at night, alone or with a Trusted Friend.......

Hi Sullivan,

The form of government doesn't really matter and the one we have has been hijacked way back to 1913 with the Federal Reserve Act and now we wait for the upcoming change to the fiat failure, but you likely already know these things to be true.  The foundation upon which the nation was founded, the Rock, has been turned into sand and everyone does what he or she sees fit in their own mind never realizing the ultimate end to that thinking leads to self destruction.  I take comfort in knowing that Christ has already one the war and I fight the battle in the spiritual realm, which is what will matter in the end in my view.

Have a great day, week , month and year!

Obama orders drops of 50 freakin' tons of assault rifles (real ones, not emasculated semi-auto knockoffs) and ammo into a desert in hopes that an' (you should hear me laughing) ISIS goon will find it in time so it won't be used by the (ROFLMFAO) 'wong people'.

Yet he wants to go after Joe Blow's AK variant, that only 'sees action' at the range, and only kills cardboard.

Get yerself some waders, as the hypocrisy is getting deeper than usual.

Oh, almost forgot: Where did he get 50 tons of AK-47's and ammo? From those abandoned weapons caches in Iraq, the ones our troops were told not to collect, and wound up being used against them? How much American blood stained those things, already?

Some day I'll get into the habit of using the preview window. But the Muse was screaming in my ear and I needed to get this down. The whole idea of him lecturing responsible gun owners while he supports mass slaughter is just too much.

I knew that the liberal aversion to the general populace owning a means of self-defense was a matter of 'laws for thee, but not for me' as far back as 1988, when an incident took place in Warshington DC.

Liberal African American - and very loud gun control advocate - Carl Rowan, a TV commenter on a local political talking puppet show, who was all for disarming Joe Blow, shot an intruder at his DC home with an illegal handgun, and nothing was done about it.

I think you can guess what would have happened to someone not politically connected. And this was before the DrugWar made police go Rambo on any citizen who didn't roll over and piss themselves on command or risk getting shot.

Break it down by ethnic group and note that pro legal guns European Americans will be a minority in the future.

The Jews of the Washington Post have already noted that the customs and traditions of Northern Europeans will be abolished due to the plan of the Tribe to simply overwhelm their so-called "democracies" with new voters/ethnic groups in order to prevent rebellions against the supremacy that they've established for themselves behind faked political parties/tribes composed of "goy" golems, as usual.  It's little different than international "Communism"  because the same cultural group is creating it based on their customs and traditions.  Traditions that are not like those of the white tribes/"goyim" of the North that abolished slavery and want to reach out to every bedraggled refugee/migrant like they're similar to the wolves that their White ancestors created dogs from.

"Man's best friend."  What man? Muslim men? No, it's still the rustic/rural/"rugged individualist" White man that is currently being diversified out of existenced or gayed and transgendered by the sex in the city vote because he's perceived as being dangerous by most cosmopolitan, internationallly minded jews.

People of Islamic and Talmudic traditions usually don't like our dogs anymnore than they like or want to "stand with" and serve the interests of our kin group like they want us to do for them.  "Diversity" is for us, ethnic states are for them.  Tolerance is for Europeans, endless ethnic activism based on Islamophobia/antisemitism/minority victimization by a supposed "majority" is for them.  Asians have often been left out of this culture war.  But to the extent that they're incorporated in it, they're the progressively oppressive majority of minorities/diversity aligned against European Americans too.

It doesn't matter if Obama is pure on this or any other issue. The problem is that we've been lied to so much - at least, during the 10 or so presidents during my lifetime and the majority of politicians - that ANYTHING coming out of Washington is suspect. The overwhelming power of government overrides most anything Obama says, or Bush or Clinton, et al, said before him. We've learned through these lies that, once elected, issues that got these people elected ("No new taxes!" or "I will close Guantanamo" or whatever means absolutely nothing.

I remember the absolute first thing Obama did as president - decree a White House order limiting who could work in the administration based on if they were a lobbyist or some other paid shill from outside; that stood the test of time for, oh, about three weeks. I don't ever remember Obama using Healthcare reform as a stumping point, but lo, there it was during his second year as his main agenda item. And I only pick on Obama because he's the latest in a line of never-ending liars who have occupied the White House.

So, the "gun issue" is another lie in a long line of lies. He can cry over the kids lost in Newtown - we all cried over that, but I don't see him crying over the doctors lost in the Doctors Without Borders fiasco.

Certainly Gun Control has been a big UN agenda in relation to Agenda 21 depopulation fulfillment and UN takeover of the countries. They even talked about it on September during inauguration of UN 70 years anniversary. Obola showing crocodile tears made me smile to see once again these globalist who wants your soul would never take a break to accomplish their plan by any means necessary.

Makes me wonder after unsuccessful gun grab of USA, what they gonna do as an excuse to do that.May be come boldly "OK America, we tried to be reason with you many times, killing you to justify taking, and you are not willing, So we are going to take it by force whether you like it or not,we need it bad for you to disarm so that we gonna proceed in our prosperous plan for you".

They will gonna turn ugly on this to effect, intensify mass murder by 'planted terrorist', mass shooting etc etc.

What should be our move to tackle and expose this nasty plan? This a battle after loosing your gun imagine how easy it would be for NWO to take shape, taking you out like a rat for whatever reason. This is serious fight America loose many times by this current government, the only in progress accomplishment is this gun shit, please don't loose this fight soon.

I am much more scared of my local police force than any foreign terrorist and I am a law abiding  citizen.

We have taken a bunch of ex-military veterans who volunteered to go to war for a $20,000 check from Uncle Sam and a guaranteed job brought them home and slapped a badge on their chest.

Remember when the police motto was "To Protect and Serve"?  Not anymore.

We trained these people to be fighters, not policemen and it shows.

They are shooting everything up in sight, executing innocent civilians, just like they did in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Now the politicians want to disarm us.

Sad days for Amerika.

The old Soviets used to do that bit: if you dissented against the Soviet tyranny, you must be crazy to rebel against the Worker's Paradise', and were put into a nuthouse and rendered null-and-void with various drugs until you were crazy.

During the Bush 2 years, if you were an analyst at NSA and you rebelled against the blatant cooking of intel on (known-to-be defunct)  Iraqi WMD programs, you were labeled a crazy. They even said in their newsletter that you were suffering from mental illness. The Party Line had been given; all must obey! Da, tovarisch!

Well, according to the CDC in Atlanta, if you own a gun you must have a mental condition anyway!  Or, at least some other type of "treatable" condition.

"in 1994 American Medical News interview with Dr. Katherine Christoffel, head of the “Handgun Epidemic Lowering Plan”, a CDC-funded organization who said: “guns are a virus that must be eradicated… They are causing an epidemic of death by gunshot, which should be treated like any epidemic…you get rid of the virus…get rid of the guns, get rid of the bullets, and you get rid of deaths.”"

and.

"Mark Rosenberg, who then headed CDC, agreed: “Kathy Christoffel is saying about firearms injuries what has been said for years about AIDS: that we can no longer be silent. That silence equals death and she’s not willing to be silent anymore. She’s asking for help.”

That same year, Rosenberg told the Washington Post: “We need to revolutionize the way we look at guns, like we did with cigarettes. Now it [sic] is dirty, deadly and banned.” And in the previous year, he had subtitled his part of an article on the public health approach to violence published in Atlanta Medicine: “The Bullet as Pathogen.”"

If we are to use medical terms, then how about those who seek to rob us of our rights are the invading pathogens, and bullets are the antibodies?

In an aside, this is where the business of doctors asking if you have weapons in the home came from. Another purely political Soviet-style 'public health' measure which is being introduced, fabian-style, into society to acclimate you into revealing information nobody has any right knoiwing. And if you are a fan of Patton, you should read his letters to his wife, post-war. They are not very flattering concerning some of the political figures of the day, or his Soviet counterparts. The letters proved to be terrifyingly prescient, as what he thought would happen in Eastern Europe did indeed take place (Iron Curtain).

Patton correctly deduced who the real enemy was, knew what was behind them, knew the Sovs could be defeated easily, but for political reasons  was chastized for speaking the obvious. (FDR's Cabinet was a den of Commie spies.) History proved him right, but posthumously, and the circumstances of his death cast doubt as to whether it was actually accidental.
