The "Monsters" Unmasked: Cologne Police Admit "Most Of The Attackers Were Refugees"

Tyler Durden's picture

This week, many German citizens were appalled to hear the details of what allegedly occurred on New Year’s Eve in Cologne.

According to eyewitness accounts and a number of apparent victims, hundreds of “Arab or North African” men engaged in coordinated sexual assaults and robberies across Germany with attacks reported in Cologne, Hamburg, and Stuttgart.

"These people that we welcomed just three months ago with teddy bears and water bottles ... started shooting at the cathedral dome and started shooting at police," one hotel bouncer who witnessed the melee in Cologne said. "Ms Merkel where are you? What do you say? This scares us!,” read a sign carried by protesters in demonstrations held on Tuesday.

While German officials universally decried the attacks, Cologne mayor Henriette Reker drew sharp criticism for suggesting that it was German women’s responsibility to keep would-be assailants at “arm’s length.” Reker dug herself an even deeper hole by saying Germany needed to better educate migrants on cultural norms. “We need to explain to people from other cultures that the jolly and frisky attitude during our Carnival is not a sign of sexual openness,” she said.

For her part, Angela Merkel is attempting to do the impossible: convince Germans that Berlin’s open-door refugee policy is a good idea while simultaneously explaining how intolerable the string of alleged attacks is. “Right now we’re seeing a very differentiated positioning among EU member states,” the Chancellor told reporters at meeting of her CSU Bavarian sister party. “It’s important to me that we have a noticeable reduction in refugee numbers, but at the same time preserve the freedom of movement within the European Union, which is an engine of economic development and prosperity -- and nobody is more reliant on it than Germany.”

Yes, we are indeed seeing “a very differentiated positioning” among states. Take Slovakia for instance, where Prime Minister Robert Fico says his government will not allow Muslims to create "a compact community." "We don't want what happened in Germany to happen here,” he said on Thursday. “The idea of multicultural Europe has failed. The migrants cannot be integrated, it's simply impossible."

On Thursday, Merkel sought to appease angry voters by encouraging Cologne police to be thorough in their investigation. "Chancellor Angela Merkel has called on Germany’s local authorities to ensure that public places remain safe for women following a mass sex attack in Cologne during New Year’s eve and mounting criticism of the government’s immigration policies," FT writes, adding that "her intervention came as the rightwing, immigration-sceptic AfD party capitalised on the outrage by blaming her liberal refugee policy for the assaults, which were allegedly carried out by men of Arab or North African appearance." This is the tweet (from AfD chief Frauke Petry) that FT references:

"We want public streets and squares which are safe for men and women,”  Merkel said.

While previously there was some ambiguity with regard to who actually perpetrated the attacks, authorities are now sure that "most" of those involved were "freshly traveled asylum seekers." Here's Die Welt (translated):

The identity checks revealed Cologne police report continues: "Only a small minority Was it North Africans, the majority of Controlled by Syrians."

That had resulted from submitted documents. So far aimed guesses that it is the perpetrators were North African young men, because they are known as petty criminals problem group in Cologne for more than one year. But many of the Controlled talked only a few months in Germany. "Most of them were freshly traveled asylum seekers. They have presented documents that are handed out at the points of an asylum application." The receiving site then gives the applicant a copy of the application, with a copy of the photos.

The most controlled were Syrians. Crime Scene Investigation, it had gone mainly to "sexual entertainment".

In another point contradict New Year's Eve employed officials of the official representation. It is said that the offender had gone primarily is to steal from passersby. The sexual harassment were only incidentally happens. "In reality it behaved exactly the opposite," said Cologne police to "Welt am Sonntag"."Primarily it was the most Arab perpetrators to sexual offenses or, to put it from their point of view to their sexual amusement. A group of men circling a female victim, closes it and takes on the woman."

Yes, "only a small minority was it North Africans," so North Africans living in Germany are apparently off the hook here. Rather, reports supposedly indicate that large groups of "primarily Arab perpetrators" out for sexual entertainment "circled" the female victims, "closed" in and "took on" the women. A terrifying scene to be sure. Here's more:

Arnold Plickert, chairman of the police union (GdP) in North Rhine-Westphalia, defended in the "Welt am Sonntag", the Cologne police: "The allegations by Interior Minister de Maizière, many colleagues in Cologne feel completely unjustly attacked and pilloried . It is simply wrong that the police had at night anyone arrested or taken into custody. " And it also does not agree that any personal data had been taken, Plickert said. "According to my knowledge were at least 80 cases, Personal checks, arrested people or taken into custody."

Plickert also defended that Cologne policeman told journalists the truth expressed about the New Year's Eve: "That the colleagues now anonymous pierce information to the public, I can understand that you want to do away with the widespread misreporting and defend Some officials have I already told.. they felt as if they were the perpetrators. "

The GdP state leader went on to say: "Even that allegedly there is no evidence to refugees as perpetrators, I think is a hoax colleagues According to the registration certificates of the Federal Office for Migration were multiple controlled men submitted There were quite sure.. Refugees among the perpetrators."

What that seems to suggest is that there's an effort on the part of some authorities to cover up the involvement of migrants in the attacks, presumably to avoid triggering social unrest. Or, as we put it on Wednesday, "you'd be forgiven for suggesting that perhaps some German politicians are going out of their way to avoid applying negative stereotypes to migrants."

Be that as it may, something tells us the German media isn't about to let this be swept under the rug...

Haus-Targaryen: "Behold ladies & gentlement, the rebirth of the European Right."

except that there is nothing to rebirth. the european Right is what we call the conservatives. what you mean is the Far Right, in our parlance. except that of course both terms will cause a lot of misunderstanding because Americans take since two or three generations european political terms and twist them into bretzels, out of recognition (just take the word "liberal" as example)

"Far", btw, means here way out of the consensus, the centrist view, the "norm", and often but not always with a suspicion of unconstitutionality

I wrote before, a lot of what has been written up to now is simply bullshit. take "Arab". what kind of "Arab"? North African Arab or Syrian Arab? or that "shooting". the first main problem that the police of Cologne had to face was youngsters going wild with fireworks, shooting them into people, buildings and the cathedral

the police report will come out end of the week. until then, most media is simply going berserk with speculation and snippets produced mostly out of propaganda

They were not really a socialist party. They were a collectivist party routed around a theme of nationalism and race. That makes them far right. For sure they had 'social programmes' but so did Fascist Italy and a string of other countries in Europe at the time. Socialists do not route around nationalism or race. They route around class or rather about abolishing class. That is why they get buddy buddy with the muslems. That is also pretty much classless -in theory. They then erroneously assume that islam will respect them for it.

Fascism is nationalist. Socialism/communism is globalist.

Both are authoritarian and elitist. Both are MARXIST at their core.

But because Islam opposes Enlightenment ideals of individuality and responsibility, the socialist/communist Marxist leadership makes common cause with them.

But yeah, the useful idiot rank-and-file (like Erik) actually believe all that multiculti bullshit.

look, it's simple. we still use the historic terms. you use the (Anglo-) Americanized version of them. which, purposefully or not, are simply unrecognizable

the National Socialists were exactly that. Nationalists and Socialists. (and not Liberal)

plenty of such parties around the world that aren't "the Nazis". the Ba'athist parties of Iraq, Syria and Egypt were/are National Socialists

hell, even the Scottish National Party is properly speaking a National Socialist party. strongly conservative while socialist, too

problem is, Americans don't use the terms Liberal, Conservative (up to Nationalist) and Socialist properly, and haven't done that since a long time

but if you want to understand politics elsewhere, you need those "rest of the world" terms, which are the same as wikipedia uses

there is a quite common expression used even in important newspapers that is "Anglo-American". I would normally use another expression which is more common in europe, "Anglo-Saxon"

but I noticed that many Americans here in ZH are completely at loss with that, as well as with the expression "Anglo-Sphere"

fact: in most of the Anglo-Sphere, i.e. where English is spoken, particularly the Anglo-Saxon countries, particularly in the US and the UK, the whole political spectrum and it's common denominations are less understood then elsewhere, and people are commonly quite unused to what is the standard political vocabulary is, using own adaptations which often lead to misunderstandings

this sentence is neither demeaning nor misunderstood by any Old Worlder, be him a Russian or a Chinese. it's simply a fact

Brits use Labour instead of Socialists. Americans use often "liberal" but mean socialist, and then use "socialist" in a way that would be improper in the Old World

Americans seem to even like to make a huge hash between Far Left and Left, and Far Right and Right. but that concept of "Far" is important for us continental europeans

note here the comment about socialists not being collectivists. well, that is wrong, socialism implies a certain amount of collectivism. how much depends on many factors

in discussions about continental european affairs I can't use labels that a common American would understand, then it would be wrong. the correct local denominations apply

and no, I can't help if you belong to the category of Americans that has been brought up to reject any information about "anything -ism"

Clinton was weaselling around. I am not. I am trying to explain to Haus-Targaryien that here there is a "litmus test" between a political position and a "Far" political position

people who don't understand this kind of things here... have often a problem, later. those little differences can have all kinds of consequences, here

an unrelated example of people not understanding this: the SA-Brownshirts. You possibly know, those who were slaughtered by the SS in the Night of the Long Knifes

sorry, but ideology might be a kind of joke in the New World, but is taken very seriously in the Old World

Haus is right. But not in the pesky details

The German Right is arising, and is calling a lot of bluffs and lies from the Left as what they are, and is preparing a whole lot of new laws

that's the conservatives, though

The German Far Right... is having a field day, yes, but that's a completely different matter in Germany

the reason why Haus is both right and wrong is that he has not understood yet the policy differences between the German conservatives vs socialists and the policy differences between the German Right and the Far Right

being American and still a bit of a stranger in Germany, he thinks that more of a thing is... better

understandable if you take in account that the politics of his home country, the US, are way more polarized and yet completely different in structure and outcome

Well maybe some of it is speculation and snippets but on this morning's news BBC TV showed an interview with a German teenager who had been manouvered inside a group of young refugees some of whom groped between her legs while others picked her pockets and handbag. She had been and remains terrified. She asked where they were from and one said Syria.

She was pysically unharmed and she escaped without too much trouble. She might have been exagerrating or making it all up but I don't think so, that wasn't at all the impression I got.

If this happened only once in one place it would be bad. If it happened more than once, but as part of a single incident in one place, it would be very bad. But if it is happening often and in many places we have a really big problem on our hands because what exactly are we going to do with a million displaced people who don't want to integrate, don't share any of our values, and would feel no guilt or shame if they kill us or rape a woman who happens to be in a public place unveiled without a man? Please don't offer trite replies like "shoot them" or "send them back" because you know as well as I do that won't happen. What do we do?

For a start, budget many millions for a process that might, perhaps, separate "refugees" from the (apparently massive) majority who are in Europe only for economic reasons.

Then establish an ID system for tracking purposes (the Germans, at least, used to be quite good at this).

Then DEPORT all who are not bonafide refugees, and DEPORT all who commit any criminal acts. Then, to the remaining 3% or so, extend appropriate humanitarian aid.

THEN, kick the fucking Americans out of your country.

Germany only functioned because it was full of law abiding, obedient Germans.  Germany was too anarchic even for law abiding white Americans.  I can't tell you how many times I've driven 100 miles an hour in a residential zone.  Why?  Cuz there's no fucking cops in Germany and I do what I want.  While that's bad enough, I don't attack people.  I'm a civilized white Christian man.  But the invaders are barbaric non-white Mohammedians.  They are raping and pillaging Germany and there IS no police presence to stop them.

That's the concept of taking responsibility over your actions if an accindent happens in a residential zone while driving 100 miles an hour. And since number of car accidents is not difference to other countries, the concept works quite well.

Merkel is under real pressure. Since she invited the refugees to Germany her popularity dropped dramatically, but recovered the last couple of months. If she can't keep her promise of "Wir schaffen das", the people are going to vote for the AfD.

So I expect the amount of police on the street, especially in big cities, is going to increase dramatically.

A recent Breitbart News investigation reveals that Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), who has a two-decade-long history of promoting open borders immigration policies, seems to support border fences for himself, even as he denies the American people those same protections.

While Paul Ryan’s omnibus spending bill does not provide funding for the mandatory completion of a 700-mile double-layer border fence that Congress promised the American people nearly a decade ago when it passed the 2006 Secure Fence Act, Paul Ryan has constructed a fence around his property.

As Breitbart News’s photographic documentation reveals, Ryan’s home is surrounded by a tall border fence reinforced by equally high bushes— ensuring both privacy and security. Moreover, the fence is manned by an on-duty agent who guards his property’s perimeter. Upon even the slightest appearance of any unusual activity— such as a 5’2? female taking a photograph of the fence— Ryan’s border agent will deploy into action to ensure the perimeter’s sovereignty.

The people of Europe have been inculcated in the belief that they live in a land of hope, peace, freedom, self-fulfillment, prosperity, and tolerance, led by the Glorious European Parliament in Brussels.  The political left are lost in a mirage of "Niceness", and have trapped themselves in Stockholm Syndrome.  This is partly the result of WW1 and WW2 and the aftermath of revulsion to war, death, and destruction resulting from conflicts motivated by racial and ethnic intolerance.  The European Union project promised to be the piece of paper that would guarantee "Peace In Our Time".

The political leaders of Europe are themselves captives of this mind-fog, some as true believers and some as enforced compliers since any voice that questions the Niceness mirage is immediately condemned as fascistic, and the speaker of any dissent is ostracized.

The EU has rolled over to the migrant flood, disabling its own border controls and the usual process for vetting migrants and asylum claimants.  We have witnessed border guards standing aside and letting huge crowds of people stampede across borders, take over train stations, riot, and be allowed to take trains to Germany while demanding that they be given food, housing, money, and medical care - and the EU Commission ruled that each EU member state must take its quota of migrants and roll over to their demands.

While France and the UK have acted partly out of delusions of grandeur and attempts to regain colonial glory, the EU as a whole is captive of its financial mess.  The EU needed about $70 Trillion in currency swap facilities from the Federal Reserve to keep from sinking from the 2008 financial crisis.  Some argue that the interconnectedness of the EU financial system with the US system, and the debts owed to the Fed, force the EU to be subservient to Washington's demands that it take part in creating chaos in Ukraine, the Middle East, North Africa, the Balkans, the Baltic nations, former satellite nations of the Soviet Union, and in Russia.  Washington has driven a wedge between the EU and Russia, and subjugated the EU leadership to Washington's continuing pursuit of World hegemony.  Much of Washington's recent strategies are the result of nations trying to break away from the stranglehold of the PetroDollar Arrangement, and attempting to conduct their international trade in other currencies - hence the taking out of Gadddafi for supporting trade in Gold-backed Dinars, and the take-down of Saddam Hussein for selling oil for Euros.  The rise of the Eurasion/BRICS/Shanghai Cooperation Organization as a mutual defence/economic/financial bloc and their emphasis on conducting business in their own currencies adds to Washington's concerns and helps to explain Washington's "Pivot to Asia" and repeated provocations against Russia and China.

Europe remains occupied by large military forces and installations of the USA and its NATO arm, relieving the EU nations of much military expense but making them subservient to US military might and to US foreign policy.

Libya's Gaddafi recognised the probable results of the recent efforts to destabilize North Africa and the Middle East and tried to warn Tony Blair of the dangers of unleashing a horde of refugees upon Europe, as noted elsewhere on Zero Hedge today.  But that may have been part of Washington's Grand Design.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTJc9pN29A4

The interests of the EU nations and their people seem to be of little importance to Washington and to EU politicians.  EU politicians in the top positions of power seem to be concerned only with their own careers - persons with true statesmansip qualities appear to be extremely rare.
