China Goes Full Keynesian-tard: Demolishes Never-Used Just-Built Skyscraper

Tyler Durden's picture

"Growth" meet "mal-investment boom-bust" In a perfect example of the smoke-and-mirror-ness of China's credit-fueled expansion, a 27-storey high-rise building which was completed on November 15th 2015 was just demolished, "having been left unused for too long."

As China People's Daily reports,

Directional blasting demolition of a high-rise building was completed successfully at 7 a.m. on November 15, 2015 in Xi'an, in northwestern China's Shaanxi province.

The building was 118 meters high (27 floors) with a total construction area of over 37000 square meters.

Having been left unused for too long, the building could not be brought back into use so local government decided to demolish it.

It is reported to be the highest building that has ever been demolished in China.

The silver-lining - now workers can clean up the mess, dig a bigger hole... and fill that in - all in the name of Keynesian "growth."

lol 27 floor "skyscraper"

In 20-30 years there will be massdemolitions of thousands of "skyscrapers" per year in china. Unless of course they decide to let people continue to live in them as they collapse one by one.

The social status of the future: can you afford to live in a safe house?

That is why you need to marry a rich man, so that you wont have to worry about the house falling down on you.

I don't understand why they demolished the building?

Why not just set it on fire and then let it turn to dust in mid-air like on 9/11?

What actually happened is the following.  Someone in the penthouse attached a cable to the elevator and pushed the down button.  The elevator pulled the building down.

The question is, what that a mistake, or was that Paul Krugman?

Maybe China was just doing a test to determine whether the Twin Towers fell at free fall speed on 9/11/01. Or perhaps they were trying to send a signal to the world, a May Day 05/01. Or perhaps they got excited with Tarot and "the Tower"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tower_%28Tarot_card%29

Or perhaps it was just that every time their yuan gets devalued they'll pull a tower, go limp dick, and try to channel Mao to ask what the fuck went wrong.

Stupid Communists: You can put a lame duck in a window, but you can't make the people eat it!

Now if only the ideology of communism could have been an idea with the same "long" lifespan.

Communism was the leading ideological cause of death between 1900 and 2000. The 94 million that perished in China, the Soviet Union, North Korea, Afghanistan, and Eastern Europe easily (and tragically) trump the 28 million that died under fascist regimes during the same period.

According to a 2011 Rasmussen poll, 11% of Americans think that communism would better serve this country’s needs than our current system.

Once again the media has published an article suggesting that Red China is just another normal country that is involved in science and finance and cares about air pollution and fixing the terrorist problem in the World. The media might try telling us the facts, once in a while, concerning the blood-thirsty CCP.  The heinous Chinese Communist Party's only concern is the total control of its people by the use of torture, slavery, organ harvesting and murder. Since 1949, the blood-thirsty CCP has murdered eighty million of its own people and is now attempting the genocide of the millions of innocent Falun Gong practitioners who live there. None of the millions of atrocities that have been and are still being committed are ever mentioned by the media because of corporate greed so the people of the World look at China as a budding financial power when in fact it is a dark, scary, brutal regime. Human greed, insatiable.

Nothing to see here....Zero   hedgers...

Code violation-----so, it couldn't  be used legally....and no economic way to fix the code violation....The only use left is tested out new demolition method.

If it happened here in USA....I would surmise the building would suffer the same fate....some dumb contractors/bankers/etc eat the dust for failing due diligence. That's all, folks, nothing to see here. Do recall that blasted off demolition also cost money. It was probably a court order to demolish the building....

When I was stationed in Korea, I remember inspecting a new barracks built by korean contractors.

Each room had 30 AC outlets ...

The brackets for the shelves were installed upside down (to undo the historic benefits of triangles).

All-in-all it was a VERY SHODDY job.

One of the sargeants that had been there forever said, "Sir, this is just how they build it in Asia".

Well. I AM SILLY, How did you get to be an OFFICER?  Whats wrong with having 30 alternating current outlets? Triangular brackets would work either way.

Years ago the only hand tools  I would use were Snap-On because the were of superior quality . Now they are just a lot more expensive. This aint "korea" anymore old timer. Take your meds and go back to sleep
