Having fallen consistently from almost 90% particpation in the labor force in 1948 to just 68.5% in 2015, it appears that crossing below the 70% participation rate has pushed American men to their limit of faith in career politicians.

Every single female seems to be getting employed now in the county I live in. Females grace the front page of the liberal rag every day. Females in all the billboards. On teevee, its all about the womens. Everyone is soft and safe and happy and retiring and proud of the lives they have led.

I think men are biologically functioned to go out in groups and hunt, so they had to work together, or they didn't catch any game. Women had to stay back at the camp and nurse their babies, so they couldn't hunt, so they had to compete with each other to get the best hunters to feed them. Therefore, MORE men evolved to be happy enough just to be team players. MORE women evolved to attract whatever men, after the hunt, received the lion's share, and women therefore evolved to be watchful and to quickly defeat any other women might take away either the man who brought them the lion's share, or any man who might take the lion's share away from their man.
And it has SEEMED to me that women who rose in bureaucratic jobs were OFTEN the ones most focused on eliminating perceived threats to themselves.
(Of course, some men also evolved to hog the lion's share so that they could get the most desirable woman. Such men can be coldly cruel and dishonest.)
(And, of course, there are many women in the workforce who are wonderful in every way.)
But I ended up not expecting women in positions of bureaucratic power to be necessarily either less cruel or more truthful than men in power.

Yes. Men have been systematically driven out of the labour force since the war. The master class figured out "liberated" Girl Fridays would work for less, complained less, and were less likely to leave and set up a competing firm. Hence women were recruited as their fathers' and brothers' replacements, discouraged by officially-approved second-wave feminism from marrying and having children.
The masters, of course, remain overwhelmingly male. There is no such thing as a self-made female billionaire. All truly wealthy and powerful women inherited or married their money and power.

Hahaha. Good one. For better or worse, that's not our approach. I've never even consumed alcohol or anything else I figured would dull or misdirect my consciousness, so that would definitely be going in a whole new direction.
Actually, our way to outer space is indirect. We're creating a new implementation of smarter-than human inorganic consciousness that should also be faster-than human. Better be anyway, or we'll be extremely bummed. The original prototype was smarter-than human but vastly slower than human, and thus essentially of no practical value (other than proof-of-principle, which was the point of that prototype).
Once we have one smarter and faster than human inorganic consciousness, we can create thousands (or more) copies. They can work 24/7/365 enhancing their own architecture and/or implementation... as well as all sorts of fundamental science, engineering and invention. Our hope is they will quickly provide us with vastly cheaper, easier, safer ways to get our butts into space, and live there permanently.
So... a different approach. Obviously our purpose is to permanently evade human predators (especially those calling themselves "government") and the endless risks, hassles and inefficiencies they carry.
Where in space do you have in mind? i'm sure you are aware that there are presently no known locations capable of supporting human life. Telepathy is simultaneous, wireless is typical wireless when used with an ehanced silicone carbon neuronal interface.
In the world without silicone enhancement, the process of natural selection has already started to enhance data collection and processing on its own, Asbergers, idiot savants and genius are the early stage examples of the changes takeing place that, at this point, do no always favor their natural selection, just some.

Our brains are changing naturally, and they will through biomedical enhancements also. Hopefully, the enhancements will not be for smarter and under control, but for smarter, more creative and more free. Enhancements could kick start portions of our unused or under used brain cells by the growth of more connections-axons and dendrites.
