North Korea Slams Trump's "Provocative, Aggressive Words", Will Test Missiles "When It Sees Fit"

Tyler Durden's picture

In a terse response to President Trump's earlier threats and later promises of pre-emptive strikes, North Korea's vice foreign minister Han Song Ryol says it is not his own country but the United States and President Donald Trump who are "making trouble."

Vice Minister Han made the comments in an exclusive interview with The Associated Press in Pyongyang on Friday. Trump tweeted on Tuesday that North Korea was "looking for trouble" and added that if China doesn't do its part to rein in Pyongyang's nuclear ambitions, the U.S. can handle it.

Han cited Trump's tweets as problematic, as well as the U.S. military's participation in exercises with South Korea and an aircraft carrier's move to the region.

"Trump is always making provocations with his aggressive words. .... It's not the DPRK but the US and Trump that makes trouble."

Furthermore, North Korea's vice foreign minister said it will conduct its next nuclear test whenever its supreme headquarters sees fit, warning that the situation on the Korean Peninsula was in a "vicious cycle" as tensions with the U.S. and its allies deepen.

Han told AP that Pyongyang won't "keep its arms crossed" in the face of a U.S. pre-emptive strike.

As we detailed earlier, tensions have escalated on the Korean Peninsula, as this Saturday marks the anniversary of the birth of the nation's founder — Kim il-Sung, grandfather of the current leader, Kim Jong-un. At the highest levels in South Korea and the U.S., sources told NBC News, there are fears North Korea could mark the "Day of the Sun" by testing a nuclear device. As discussed yesterday, North Korea in the past has used these national holidays to celebrate the strengths of the regime and to reinforce the national narrative of their independence, as confirmed by Cha.

"I think that is what President Trump is getting trying to get the Chinese to do," said Cha. "[It] would impose real pain and force real choices on North Korea — whether the costs are worth it for them to continue to pursue this program if they no longer have any sustenance."

In addition to the coal ships, the Chinese made an important gesture at the UN Thursday: A surprising abstention on a Security Council resolution condemning a Syrian chemical weapons attack. China didn't stand with the Russians on Syria, as it has in the past.

I'm avoiding all Korean BBQ this weekend in protest of these shenanigans.

Looks like Korea might be BBQ by the end of the weekend.

Wasn't it the USA that put the "North" in front of that portion of Korea, back in the 50's?

Yes, and to better understand why we are where we are at this point these are good reading

first this..

And then this..

If team AmeriScum had been honest in their dealings with DPRK years ago this would have been avoided.

We intentionally sabotaged the 1994 Agreed Framework. No one in Washington was really interested in normalizing relations and providing the North Koreans a light water reactor. It was a stall and wait-for-the-regime-to-collapse game.

Looking at the XML for this page it is trivial programmatically to look for a list of usernames and then nullify the content associated with their posts replacing it with a message such as "spam deleted".  Since the Tyler's seem too busy and are not whacking down users who continue to fill the site with this crap perhaps someone familiar with building browser extensions could supply this for us? I am a programmer but not familiar with the ecosystem for browser extensions. This is very trivial look for two XML tags, one username followed by associated content,  cross reference a list of known user names... Just a thought! Make Zero Hedge Great Again! MZHGA!

It would be easy if the comments were indexed by author, but since they're indexecd by comment number, instead, you can't - not that I know, anyway.

Ex.: to hide the stupid votes, all you need is this filter:

It's annoying as fuck, specially as it pushes valid comments to secondary pages, but the only people bothered by it are users; for the site, and until it starts eroding their user base significantly, it's just extra pageviews (ie: profit)...

Does anyone remember how evil North Vietnam was?

So what if N/K over run the South if the US attack Them?. Won't That mean that the US will end up leveling south Korea too that will mean a massive land invasion . Who will pay for it, more importantly how many people will die?

Gotta go...feeling a DRAFT...

Real shame if NK would not exist...what would all those U.S. troops in SK/Japan have to do...entrenched...waiting and waiting and waiting 72 years after WWll ended...

"What would all those US troops do in S/K?"

They could help bury the dead, that would take them  a year or two.

Title: North Korea Slams Trump's "Provocative, Aggressive Words", Will Test Missiles "When It Sees Fit"

My response: This my 'KOREAN' SON is NOT a GOOD thing that you do.

North Korea is #1 out of 50 nations when it comes to persecution and torture accordng to OPEN DOORS ministry. The leaders of NK are barbarians against their own citizens. The stories of torture are unbelievable.

Based on the above, would we really expect civil behavior from the NK leaders? NK has managed to aggrevate, CHINA, RUSSIA, USA, South Korea and JAPAN.

The NK Leaders just don't know when to quit digging their own grave?

Mustafa Kemal's picture

Gus, try reading a little history and turn the story around and ask "how would I feel if I was treated this way by the US?"

North Korea is similar to North Viethman in the sense that they were cold war bogeyman for the US.

The deep state needs the cold war to keep in business, so when the berlin wall fell we upgraded and included Iran as new bogeyman.

We, with international support, have been strangling these two countries for many decades.

And as NK aptly says "Afghanistan doesnt have nukes, Lybia doesnt have nukes, Iraq doesnt have nukes and Syria doesnt have nukes, look at them!"

Yeah, we can pulverize them, they may pulverize SK and Japan, but what then?

Moreover, if you read the history of the Korean war, you will realize that these people , just like the vietnames, can fight and die. Americans are unwilling, rightfully so, to do that.

Unless we are lucky and Trump is successful in a bluff, this could turn into a huge mess.

There are other ways to solve this mess, and it has to do with American policy and developing and small amount of diplomacy. You dont see any diplomacy in US. Not with Trump, Haley, or Spicer, who cant even talk straight.

Please don't lecture me on this situation. I know more about it this situation than you will ever know.

Case in Point, when I was in college, my room mate was a Captain from South Vietnam who escaped just in time to come to America. My friends served in the Vietnam war and one died. I know tyranny and corruption when I see it.

OPEN DOORS international is a good place to spend some time if one really wants to know what is really going on in North Korea. To get a visual picture, read some of the stories published by OPEN DOORS or VOICE OF THE MARTYRS ministries.

Persecution in North Korea - Millions of Christians Harmed.

By the way, you probably weren't even born when the vietnam war occurred, correct? DIPLOMACY you suggest has been tried and failed. ONE DOES NOT NEGOTIATE WITH SATAN AND EXPECT TO WIN!

Read History ... from whom I might ask? Some PROGRESSIVE LIBERAL pens a few words and you treat it as gospel?

Below is a good book for you to read. It discusses the DOCTRINE OF HUMAN DEPRAVITY. Below is the link.

If you want to really know that is going on, understand Human Nature from GOD's perspective, NOT man's perspective. Then and only then will one truly understand. This journey begins with getting knowledgable on the DOCTRINE OF HUMAN DEPRAVITY.

I'd LMAO if they tested an H-Böm' (Inspector Cluseau accent).

That would crimp Trump's loudmouth style.

Sir Evelyn de Rothschild would have a coronary, as would quite a few prominent war mongers. McCain would never get it up again.

divingengineer's picture

I'd LMAO if the next test fizzled like the last few.
Or if a Tomahawk came flying in at about 3 seconds before detonation.

HRClinton's picture

An H-Bomb would not be launched from a rocket.

It would be put on a fishing boat and go off half-way between SK and Japan.

That's far enough to be safe, but close enough for all to see.

After that, the US and its bankers would leave NK alone.

(That's Bill's theory, not mine.)

Allegedly, Pence is going to South Korea.  Clever fake by the administration--I'll give them that much.

I'm surprised sk and Japan aren't outraged over this provocation. If the US gets involved in your region it's nothing but fucking trouble.

They have no idea who is really behind this

As North Korea is an obvious threat to the United States, we must threaten them.  And if that fails, bomb them.  I saw it on TV.

So.. Let's see here! Kim Jong Fatboy is playing Baghdad Bob on the world stage with the nuclear bomb threats against a county with enough nuclear weapons to blow up the moon twice because...why again? I mean look, a country has a right to autonomy and North Korea is a nuclear state with very little interference from the outside but they're being asked to stop testing nuclear weapons and their response is a gigantic F**K YOU! You know, maybe I'm not reasoning this out well enough but it seems to me, this is not a wise course of action!

TheMeatTrapper's picture

Fat boy is writing checks with his mouth that his ass can't cash.

divingengineer's picture

It's the only play they know.
They should get a good kick in the nuts for threatening to preemptively use a nuke.
You can't do that.
Call it etiquette, or what have you.

Mustafa Kemal's picture

"with very little interference from the outside "

Have you checked the decades of international sanctions?

shimmy's picture

I think North Korea sounds like a pretty fucked up place and that guy leading it now sounds a bit nutty but at the same time, I don't see any problem with them building up a nice stockpile of weapons to help defend them and not become the next Iraq, especially given dubbya's view towards them which has just carried on since then.

Any country in that area of the world that actually trusts the U.S to leave them alone is completely stupid.

iinthesky's picture

Yeah but in the end you gotta take into account their still filthy commies.. Commies suck dog dick!

divingengineer's picture

Got that right.

European American's picture

It's a legitimate beef. How many countries has North Korea attacked in the last 60 some years? How many has the USA attacked/invaded?

So he's got a funny hairdo and the population is starving most of the time, AND, they want to have nuclear capabilities. That's their problem, not ours.

Victory_Garden's picture

Hey yo, charlie chan.

Prolly better bet Sir Trump ain't farkin around.

Just do the right thing and stop all the saber rattling and trouble making.

Trade in your nuke program for seeds and food, and maybe access to the rest of what is offered in fair trading.

Easy peazy!
