Saudi Arabia Gives Qatar 24 Hour Ultimatum As Analysts Warn Of "Military Confrontation"

Tyler Durden's picture

Shortly after imposing a naval blockade in the immediate  aftermath of the Qatar diplomatic crisis, one which left the small Gulf nation not only politically isolated and with severed ties to its neighbors but potentially locked out of maritime trade and crippling its oil and LNG exports, on Tuesday SkyNews Arabia reported that Saudi Arabia has given Qatar a 24 hours ultimatum, starting tonight, to fulfill 10 conditions that have been conveyed to Kuwait, which is currently involved in the role of a mediator between Saudi and Qatar.

According to media report, among the key demands by Saudi Arabia is that Qatar end all ties Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.

While there was little additional information on the Ultimatum and more importantly what happens should Qatar not comply, Al Jazeera reported that Kuwait's emir, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, left Saudi Arabia on Tuesday after holding mediation talks with the Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz to try to defuse an escalating crisis between Arab countries and Qatar. No details were given on the talks.

In addition to Saudi Arabia's aggressive approach, Egypt's Foreign Ministry accused Qatar of taking an "antagonist approach" towards Cairo and said "all attempts to stop it from supporting terrorist groups failed". Qatar denied the allegations, with a Foreign Ministry statement describing them as "baseless" on Monday.

Speaking to Al Jazeera, analyst Giorgio Cafiero of Gulf State Analytics, a geopolitical risk consultancy based in Washington, DC, said: "I think the Kuwaitis as well as Omanis ... fear the prospects of these tensions escalating in ways which could undermine the interest of all six members of the GCC.

"There are many analysts who believe that a potential break-up of the GCC has to be considered right now."

"If these countries fail to resolve their issues and such tensions reaches new heights, we have to be very open to the possibility of these six Arab countries no longer being able to unite under the banner of one council," said Cafiero.

He added that if tension escalates, some have warned of a "military confrontation".

Was it 19 Qatari freedom fighters who were involved with 9/11 and now legally liable for damages or Saudis?

False Flag

Trump has just pushed Qatar the worlds 4th Natural gas producer to seek Iran's military support when threatened by Saudis, and ensured the break up of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Now watch as Qatari gas flows East eventually to Pakistan, India then China, not West. Israel's/Washington's plan to break up the ME into controlled warring factions to divide and concur for the Glory of Greater Israel is backfiring and China is the US's real adversary as the petrodollar crumbles.

This is one of the last attempts at saving the petrodollar; trying an outside planned and sponsored regime change in Qatar to maintain US hegemony, and it will fail miserably, yet again.....

This Neocon wet dream of a war with Iran, only shows the US and Israel to be the center of global destabilization and the cause and core of terrorism.

The EU will now have to accept Qatarians, errr Qatari, errrr Qats. Whatever, MOAR muzzies.

If the US is going to step it up in Syria, they want something meaningful to play for. They want Qatari gas fields. They got the SA and rest of GCC to throw Qatar to the wolves, and then the US will step it up against Iran, and try to secure Syria.

This is a very dangerous game, and it is going to lead to WW3. Short stocks and long oil now.

i don't understand the perspective.  in what sense would the u.s. have the qatari gas fields?  like exxon would own them?  what's the u.s. motive in syria if the pipeline's a bust?  just the standard israeli failed border state?

but i like the trade short stocks and long oil.

"If the US is going to step it up in Syria"

They have just bombed pro-Assad forces in southern Syria, declaring part of SYria to be effectively US territory. I believe the Russians have called a special session of the UN Security Council. I hope there were not Russian advisoers in the forces the US killed.

BTW the US killed 105 civilians in Mosul, Iraq in March alone. Some 40 were killed when the US bombed a building holding 2 snipers. The civilians were hiding in the basement (used as human shields?). Here is how the others may have gone - white phosphorus artillery shells fired into urban settings. The US has gone full Zionist.

"to seek Iran's military support when threatened by Saudis, and ensured the break up of the Gulf Cooperation Council."

So, Iran will attack to protect Qatar?

"trying an outside planned and sponsored regime change in Qatar to maintain US hegemony, and it will fail miserably, yet again"

So, US hegemony has been eliminated?

"divide and concur for the Glory of Greater Israel is backfiring and China is the US's real adversary as the petrodollar crumbles."

So, Greater Isreal will force US to attack China to maintain the petrodollar?

Newsflash - Qatar is home to a massive US military base and any action by/for Iran or China will be met by WW3. Which will hopefully be quick and over before real estate prices on the west coast (Chinese money) have time to dip.

I understand that Israel (actually Palestininans, but never mind) have just found huge Nat gas deposits off-shore and will want to supply Europe. Would Israel care where Qatar gas goes, provided it isn't to Europe?

I have also heard that very large deposits were found off Crete- expect Greece to descend into civil war chaos as soon as talk of developing the gas starts. (How would you tell the difference, I hear you ask? More arms sales, to both sides....)

Confrontation at Bilderberg 2017 by Thierry Meyssan

While President Trump seems to have sorted out his problems of interior authority - more or less - the conflict has now moved on to concern NATO. Washington is currently speaking against the manipulation of terrorism, while London has no intention of giving up such a useful tool for the extension of its influence. The Bilderberg Group, initially organised as a sounding board for the Alliance, has just been the stage for a difficult debate between the partisans and the adversaries of imperialism in the Middle East.

Saudi King Salman's real name is Schulman. Notice the curved nose, typical jewish nose curvature! Yes he is a Jew, a cryptojew.  Israel & Saudi Arabia are closer than what people think and know.  Sand niggers are not just arabs!

"We will be able to judge Trump by the state of the US and the world when he leaves office. Maybe before."

I predict that Trump will never make it to the end of his present term. The Nation and the World cannot afford it. He is too incompetent and an outright imbecile.

If the PTB managed to get that moronic stuttering nigger into the White House and the re-elected, there's absolutely no reason why Trump cannot finish his first term.

Bush was not exactly a genius either.

He's being really nice to them, but only in the sense that he is doing business with them.  On the political end, they caught his message.  This asshole shimmied his way up to the top in business, and theyre really is no good argument why he may not end up on the top of this heap.

Saudis are going to steal the gas and cash reserves. They are desperate and they are trying to reduce Iran's influence. Probably going to backfire.

Media just warned us, therefore absolutely nothing will happen.

Fake news.

Real events happen suddenly and without warning.

Indeed Sir! If I may be so presumptuous to also summize that this is a scripted / pre determined event. Shutting down Qatar's gas biz.

Maybe Saudis prefer an ownership of Qatar´s nature gas and the projected pipe line via Syria to Europe. That made some sense. Militarily a regime change must be a piece of cake.

Who ever said there has to be a good guy?

The whole "good guy vs bad guy" narrative has always been a fiction.

I thought the whole point of "all men are sinners and fall short of the glory of God" is that most of the world's battles are between two evils over who gets to be king, as opposed to a battle of good against evil.

"I thought the whole point of "all men are sinners and fall short of the glory of God" is that most of the world's battles are between two evils over who gets to be king, as opposed to a battle of good against evil."

You're kidding, right? 'Cause that is so not it at all.

techpriest's picture

Semantics-wise, it is not "the whole point," but it's a pretty direct application. In any war, either side tries to present themselves as "the good guy," but neither side is good - each side is trying to invent justifications.

Saudi Arabia Gives Qatar 24 Hour Ultimatum As Analysts Warn Of "Military Confrontation"

My response: GOOD!!! If memory serves me correctly, QATAR is holding a lot of CLINTON FOUNDATION money in addition to being a funding source for a lot of terrorism. I saw that natural gas ariticle earlier, but not paying much attention to it because there are a lot bigger things at work behind the scenes.

We are looking at an all out SPIRITUAL WAR that extends to the heavenly realm. President TRUMP is JEHU of the Bible. Go look it up and read about JEHU. King JEHU was a wild character only interested in serving justice to all those who deserved it.

I wonder how the FBI investigation into HRC corruption is coming along? LOCK HER UP with her QATAR BUDDIES!!!

Iehu was the tenth king of the northern Kingdom of Israel (Samaria) since Jeroboam I, noted for exterminating the house of Ahab at the instruction of Jehovah.

Reports were issued earlier in the year that the Clinton Foundation suddenly moved $1.8 billion to Qatar.
