Vegas Shooter Investigators "Puzzled", Believe He Was Not Alone For Two Reasons

Tyler Durden's picture

Two days ago, Clark County Sheriff Lombardo for the first time expressed his conviction that Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock had to have help at some point during the tragic mass shooting, either in the preparation or the execution stage, or both.

“Look at this. You look at the weapon obtaining the different amounts of tannerite available, do you think this was all accomplished on his own, face value? You got to make the assumption he had to have help at some point, and we want to insure that’s the answer. Maybe he’s a super guy... Maybe he’s super — that was working out this out on his own, but it will be hard for me to believe that.”

“Here’s the reason why, put one and one–two and two together, another residence in Reno with firearms, okay, electronics and everything else associated with larger amounts of ammo, a place in Mesquite, we know he had a girlfriend. Do you think this is all self-facing individual without talking to somebody, it was sequestered amongst himself.”

Additionally, Sheriff Lombardo suggested that far from a suicide mission, authorities had seen evidence that the shooter planned to survive and escape.

To be sure, the question whether Paddock was alone or coordinated with some, still unknown collaborator, has been one of the most hotly debated topics involving last Sunday's tragic Las Vegas shooting.

Now, providing further impetus to the speculation that Paddock was not alone, NBC News reports, citing senior law enforcement officials, that investigators are speculating that someone else may have been in the Las Vegas gunman's hotel room when he was registered there.

According to NBC, the investigators are "puzzled" by two discoveries: First, a charger was found that does not match any of the cellphones that belonged gunman, Stephen Paddock. And second, garage records show that during a period when Paddock's car left the hotel garage, one of his key cards was used to get into his room. While there are several possible explanations for these anomalies, investigators said they "want to get to the bottom of it."

It gets better: according to Paddock's IRS records, the gunman was not only a legacy millionaire, he was a successful gambler, earning at least $5 million in 2015. Some of that could be from other investments, but most of it was from gambling, officials told NBC.

Separately, and this goes to Paddock's potential ISIS links which the Islamic State has tripled down on over the past week, CNN reports that in addition to his frequent forays into casinos and gun shops, Las Paddock took 20 cruises, many of them in Europe and the Middle East. In addition to stops at ports in Spain, Italy, Greece, the cruises also stopped in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, according to information provided by a law enforcement source. Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, accompanied him on nine of the cruises.

Picking up on the narrative that Paddock may have hoped to use his car as a bomb, Paddock's car, a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Touring, was found in the hotel parking garage and contained 90 pounds of Tannerite and two suitcases filled with hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Authorities suspect the Tannerite was intended for use in target practice or to make the car explode if fired upon, according to information provided by the source. The information from the source was derived from intelligence obtained earlier this week. Authorities have since said that the vehicle contained 50 pounds of Tannerite.

That said, so far, investigators have found no evidence supporting a claim by ISIS that Paddock had converted to Islam and carried out the attack on the terror group's behalf, according to the information provided by the source. Paddock's girlfriend, Danley, has been unable to provide a motive for the mass killing, according to the information.

Finally, in the latest previously undisclosed discovery, the NYT reported that what some had assumed was a suicide note, was instead a notepad whose exact contents the authorities have yet to reveal. Sheriff Lombardo said that it contained numbers that were being analyzed for their relevance, and were "significant to the gunman"; the police are attempting to determine their meaning.

Paddock's motive for the worst mass shooting in US history still remains a mystery.

LAS VEGAS SACRIFICE: The Incredible Back Story Designed To Cover Up The Shocking Truth

Why Patsy Stephen Paddock Was Set Up To Be A Mass Murderer

El Vaquero's picture

Abq. Balloon Fiesta starts tomorrow.  Because of this Vegas shit, they got the bright idea of searching ALL bags upon entry into the park/getting on the park'n ride.  Last year, it averaged 90k people per day - and that's not counting pilots and crew.  Fewer on week days and more on weekends.  This is going to be a clusterfuck of the highest order.

We should start a pool on how long this keeps up.  It won't affect me though.  I won't bring a bag in and I'll ride onto the field with a pilot.

TruxtonSpangler's picture

Not only was he not alone, there were more planned shooters that bailed at the last minute.

RAT005's picture

Slowly the story is getting more coherent.  They forgot to mention the dinner receipt feeding more than 1 person a day or two before he we was first said to check-in.

lil dirtball: There is also a time to cease propagating fantastic bullshit like this article…..

You’re wasting your breath around fanatics conspirators gate.

The reason that this sheriff is confused is because the shooter was a loner. For some reason this shooter got into his head life wasn’t worth living anymore and he decided to go out with a bang, to call as much attention one can get, which makes perfect sense if you look at the type of society that we became, meaning, image driven.

Thank God not all Brazilians are as idiotic as you.

Escrava Isaura's picture

Listen, it’s very easy for a right winger conservative to prove he/she is not indoctrinated:

First, show us one attack in the US and Europe that the right wingers conservatives didn’t call it a false flag? Show me one.

Second, the conservatives, conveniently, forgot to tell you that when the government doesn’t like clandestine operations because they’re too expensive and risky, and, usually, they always get caught. Remember Iran-contra? Remember COINTELPRO? And, back then, there were no smartphones and street cameras and those operations still got caught.

The bottom line is this: I understand the right wingers propaganda to change the American behaviour. To undermine government policies that benefits the general population. I understand the right wingers propaganda to terrify the US population to the point that every American will be carrying a gun to the coffee shop.

But, why that the right wingers do this to Americans?

Because the right wingers hate democracy, just like the founding fathers. That’s why the US is a republic, meaning that the minority rules over the majority.

And the right wingers want to rule, but they can’t do this if there’s a state power. Even with all its flaws, and there are many, states are democratic institutions. Right wingers are not.

DoctorFix's picture

I don't fall for the "right wing" "left wing" bullshit.  And quit calling on "democracy" as though it were some holy god that somehow will right all wrongs.  Look around you.  See all the idiots out there?  Do you really want all those morons to have a say in how you live your life?  Giving those knuckle dragging brain damaged boobs a voice is no favor to the world, your progeny or yourself.  Have some self respect, man!  The mob doesn't know most of the time what in the hell it's doing but it sure as shit wants to rob you blind.... democratically of course.

Escrava Isaura's picture

As a liberal I agree with you that that are too many morons out there.

However, the way I see, the real problem is with the left wingers and right winger morons.

Right now I am not sure how to stop these two for creating havoc.

And, to add salt to the injury, Trump is feeding both plenty of ammunition.

And that’s very unfortunately.

DrBrown's picture

Like you Escrava Isaura. You prove to us all you are an moron that cannot even put together a sentence.

"As a liberal I agree with you that that are too many morons out there."

That that are too many morons? What the hell does that mean? You sir are a fucking idiot.

Let me interject an observation into this sandbox pissing contest.

Short handled hammer proposed to have shattered large structural glass panels.

Chest wound visual of perp was indicative of aortic puncture as suggested by astute ZH poster.

So by speculation did Paddock die by glass, or by secondary gunshot?

Might also explain two different blood patterns…

Al Gophilia's picture

As a liberal, you're one of the morons. Your thinking is all over the place.

Grimaldus's picture

The State (that you worship) is infested with and controlled by bloody and criminal progressives.

There are no consitutional conservatives anymore. Progressives have been in charge since about 1913 or so. Different tits on the same hog, two cheeks on the same ass, etc..etc....

The State (that you worship) is tyranny and murder. Power kills.

When you pray to your tyrannical progressive state, does it involve pizza and spirit cooking? Mass murder of country and western concert goers? Bill Ayers?

Escrava Isaura's picture

Progressive is just another meaningless label and abstract word.

Anyway, whatever label you come with, about half of the nation is that label.

The problem of people being left behind, that been the right of left is irrelevant. Is what we do is what matters.

I would say starting by tax the wealth citizens at 90 percent. And government workers at 50 percent. Then, invest these funds directly into middle classes and the poor.

These will not eliminate the problems, but will give some hope to the people that are falling behind.

As Aristotle warned us over 2 thousand years ago: A democracy can survive by having some rich and poor as long as the vast middleclass is kept. If the middleclass starting getting poor democracy will disappears with.

RAT005's picture

Fewer people will always have more wealth than more people.  As soon as someone has more than average, someone else has to have less.  In the USA new gov. (1st of its kind over 200 yrs ago), the gov.'s first responsibility was to protect personal property.  Personal property can be your house, your children, your bank account, your body, etc.  It is a Republic because when property rights rule the nation and fewer people have more property than more people, majority rules on everything is impossible.  Equality in a Republic means everyone has the "same opportunity", not the "same outcome."

Falling behind should be a burden, not a priveledge for more handouts.  Taxes should be some 50% head tax, and some 50% income tax.  The notion that some income is more taxable than other income is troubling to me.  I suggest an aged based system that younger and older people pay a little less than per capita national costs and middle age pay a little more than per capita costs.  Split the costs between head tax and income tax.

Research how long the USA was mostly debt free with no income taxes.  Research how low inflation was when the USA was on the gold standard.  Compare an eigth grade graduation exam 100yrs ago to an eighth grade test of today (of course change topics to be relevant to the time.)

Sphira's picture

But then you label yourself 'liberal" meaningless label....OK...and

Yea...I remember the crazies and one of their most outlandish yarns.

That a sitting POTUS directed ...let us call them...plumbers... To infiltrate and burgled the political opposition... Just to bugem...then personally directed his cabinet to blow open the safe at the bookings institute and buglar all their documents..... Crazy CT..

Or have you heard the one about the POTUS who walks into the bar damaging his trachea.. Followed By The spontaneous head explosion . Or the one who deliberately sends a half million soldiers into a backward country on the other side of the globe with full knowledge the stated mission is impossible wasting over 50k of them ...mostly colored and/or poor...crazy CT jeez! Fuck you Christ

"Listen, it’s very easy for a right winger conservative to prove he/she is not indoctrinated:

Being skeptical of official narratives provided by governments known to lie (whenever it is convenient for them to do so) doesn't prove one damed thing about the doubter other than that he is not as gullible as you, E.I.  Moreover, given governments' checkered past when it comes to false flags operations, including those involving alleged terrorism (see, e.g., Operation Gladio),  I would not be at all surprised if every one of the "attack[s] in the US and Europe" was indeed a false flag.

piceridu's picture

The number one question one must always ask when something of this nature happens:

Whats meds was he taking?

Conscious Reviver's picture

Don't swallow the government story hook, line and sinker. Before getting around to what meds he was on, let's establish that Stephen Paddock was the shooter.

Where is the CCTV video of who went in and out of his room?

Police said he set up his own cameras to monitor the hall. How was he able to pull that off? Because he was a government agent? Paid via gambling winnings to launder the source? Always moving always traveling why? To conduct operations? Like gun running à la Fast and Furious.

Did anyone actually get shot?

Lorca's Novena's picture

People were shot and people died. Fuck this paid actor horseshit....

My sister was there and barely got out and she's still freaking out from what she saw.

BeerMe's picture

It is strange that some on here don't understand the shooting happened.  The real question is were there more people involved.  Which seems likely with the cache of guns in the room, plus an escape plan.

SoDamnMad's picture

I was trying to get an explanation on his room door picture. It was said he shot through the door (he had a camera in the peep hole) wounding a security man from the hotel. Then they breached the door using weapons and a stun grenade. But the pictures showed the door intact with 'Police-do not cross" tape but it looked like the side panel was ripped out.

At Sandy Hook the side panel of the school entrance  "security door"  (hah, ha) was broken where Adam Lanza supposedly shot his way in. But pictures of the front entrance lobby of the school had no damage; no spalding of the block walls, no chipped floors, no bullet holes in the front desk. He shot a .223 to break the glass but then the bullets disappeared and did no further damage. I had to wait a long time for the Connecticutt State Police to release the interior photos and then poured over them.

BeansMcGreens's picture

One news story actually said more than 200 shots were fired at this security guard through the door.

"When Campos approached Paddock's suite, the shooter "fired through the door, striking Mr. Campos in the upper right thigh," said Hickey who is president of the International Union, Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America.

He faced well over 200 rounds, said Sheriff Joseph Lombardo of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police on Wednesday. "It's amazing that that security guard didn't sustain additional injury." The article says that after being hit in the thigh, this guy went back to cleaning rooms. Can anyone here actually believe that?
Oliver Klozoff's picture

Obviously this guy was wrangling for the "Employee of the Month Parking Spot Award".

yarpos's picture

yeah!   and they were Klingons!

RAT005's picture

I'm not qualified to figure out who were agents and who were double agents but that story connects the dots pretty well for me.  We might not ever know whether it was US gov. or terrorists squeezing the trigger(s) at the end, but for sure US gov. is dirty in this.

Well it seems like the official story grows more suspicious by the day.

According to CNN's timeline Marilou flies out of the US via Tokyo to the Philippines:

"Sept. 15

After leaving the US, Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, flies from Tokyo, Japan, to the Philippines. She says Paddock bought her the airline tickets and then wired her money so she could buy herself a house there. One of her sisters says she believes Paddock sent Danley away so she wouldn't interfere with his plans."

She then flies to Hong Kong using her Australian passport: "

Sept. 22

Marilou Danley, traveling on her Australian passport, flies from the Philippines to Hong Kong." Then back to the Philippines (Why did she travel to Hong Kong during this time?): "

Sept. 25

Marilou Danley flies from Hong Kong back to the Philippines." Three days later, or so we are told, Paddock checks into the Mandalay: "

Sept. 28

Paddock checks into a suite on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino with uninterrupted views of the Las Vegas Strip and the festival grounds across the street.

Now, it seems, according to newly unearthed valet records, Paddock's Chrysler van is in Mandalay on Sept 25 -- not on the 28th as we were told --, the same day Marilou leaves Hong Kong for the Phillipines (pictures of his van):

JSBach1's picture

Sorry folks, I'm having a hard time posting here toight; I will attempt to do what I can tonight...

Picking up were I left off...

It seems that the Saudis visi

"A Saudi prince owns 47.5 percent of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, which operates more than 100 hotels around the world, including one in Las Vegas.

A spokesman for the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas said Saudi delegations normally stay at their property, but that they did not receive any group request for August.

Unlike the W Las Vegas, the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas is not a stand-alone structure. It is located on the top five floors of Mandalay Bay. The Four Seasons also has 133 more rooms than the W."

Interesting to note is that approximately one month before this shooting a Saudi contingent booked the Las Vegas W Hotel:

"A Middle Eastern air force has booked the entire W Las Vegas, a 289-room tower at the SLS Las Vegas, for most of August, according to numerous employees speaking on the condition they not be identified. They said employees are being shuffled around to accommodate the booking...

One of the employees identified the group as the Royal Saudi Air Force. A spokesman for the Royal Saudi Air Force based in Washington, D.C., could not be reached at his office. The spokesman did not respond to email requests for comment.

Saudi Arabia’s 10th Squadron Royal Saudi Air Force will be taking part in Red Flag 17-4 at Nellis Air Force Base, according to, a site dedicated to military aviation photography and spotting. Red Flag, combat training involving the air, space and cyberforces of the United States and its allies, will be held Aug. 14-25."

public needs to force deep state on presenting serial numbers off of weapons, all hotel camera footage, more photos of 'suicided killer' with #13 tatoo on neck to public. let public decide (since it was public that was gunned down) what happened. not a handfull of bought off, bribed, or threatened 'officials' towing party line. it is greatly appreciated that LV sheriff is calling into question some anomolies to 'evidence' that MSM (another evil three letter acronym) was so quick to prove in a case closed manner.
