In Advance Of Third Aircraft Carrier Approaching Iran, US Nuclear Sub And Destroyer Enter Red Sea

Tyler Durden's picture

While a few days ago we reported that the US was set to place a third aircraft carrier, ostensibly the USS Enterprise, in the Arabian Gulf in the indefinite future, it appears that the US is wasting little time in making preparations for this latest military escalation against Iran. As RT reports, "two ships of the US Navy, the nuclear submarine USS Annapolis and the destroyer USS Momsen have passed through the Suez Canal into the Red Sea. Although their destination is confidential, they are now getting dangerously close to the Persian Gulf. The ships’ passage was a major operation for the Suez administration as due to safety reasons they had to close off the canal to all other traffic and even shut down the bridge, disrupting the link between the banks for some four hours. The traffic on the roadways alongside the canal was also restricted, Interfax news agency reports." What's next: reports that Russian destroyers in Syria are also moving in the general direction of the Arabian Gulf?

More from RT:

There are no reports regarding the destination of the vessels, but the news come amid the ongoing crisis in the relationship between the US and Iran. There is mounting speculation that the Annapolis and the Momsen are heading to the Persian Gulf to reinforce the US naval forces already present in the region.

Currently the US has two aircraft carrier groups in the region headed by USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Carl Vinson. It is expected that another aircraft carrier, USS Enterprise, will join the strike force in March.

Since the EU placed a new round of sanctions on Iran by putting an embargo on Iranian oil, Iran is once again threatening to use military force to close the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti maritime official said on Monday that the Gulf Cooperation Council group of Arab countries have contingency plans for coastguards and naval forces should there be an attempt by Iran to shut down the Strait of Hormuz.

When one reads of such developments, what can one think but: Nobel peace prize.

That one was for show. Subs accompany every carrier group, so there's lots of subs there now.

Five max, why take three of your highest value naval assets (carriers) and stick them in a bathtub, instead of a lake, even if they take out three carriers in the first wave the US can level irans military sites and with just the subs nuke and conventional tomahawks, at least 2 nukes are on each attack sub.

Why fight your opponent on their terms, iran has already chosen the terrain and picked its weapons, its just waiting for the opportunity to strike.

Im guessing it will be sooner rather than later every day the west has to find alternative fuel supplies is a day that iran gets weaker.

Strike using conventional weapons then hide behind rus/chin protection and negotiate pref terms for iran as part of the outcome.

America saves face and china gets more oil and russia is happy with the increase in the price of crude.

Reacharounds all round.

Create the problem,

Manage the reaction,

Provide the solution,

Simples!

+1. I am not sure why you got junked. The idea of the war powers act was that congress people would be too passive and uninformed of geopolitical events to accuratly assess the need for war. And would be biased to conserve the resources of their domestic constituents (blood and treasure)

  • Considering how these Dbags
  • insider trade like Gordon Gecko
  • many have tax payer funded gulfstreams
  • or take C-130 junkets to "visit the troops",
  • most of their family and freinds get paid tax free, via tax free NGOs all around the world

... I am not sure the war powers act makes sense anymore ...

Web Bot technology (of which I am not associated with) is saying that something massive, even in comparison to 9/11 is coming in early March. By the end of June, the derivatives market will no longer exist...

My "guess" is that attack happens in early March with a surprise that has devastating consequences.

War with Iran meme has gotten a lot of play in the past. It went quite for a bit last year but came back up on the language analysis.

The thing that has me concerned is the data gap starting in March, which goes on for 13 months... it's as if the web goes quite (in terms of tension language), which has never happened before. One plausible theory is a massive corona ejection from the sun that frys the electrical grid for a year and we go back to pre 1880s without electricity on many parts of our planet.

So how much of this is real? Two months before the gulf oil disaster, the term "oil volcano" showed up in the language... no one could have known that it would have been the oil rig disaster, but it showed up and was a pretty good hit. The technology also noted falling towers and planes flying into buildings 90 days before 9/11.

So... what I watch for are the memes and new "words" that emerge. The analysis that is provided in the reports is "commentary" being provided by Clif High... and he is a bit of a quack pot... but this does not take away from the "language" that his technology surfaces. So... I am concerned.

It is impossible for us to escape the financial quagmine that we are in without a global reset of the financial system... which usually comes about through collapse or war.

Clif and George Ure have been wrong in regard to timing and specifics many times...But in regard to the general trend. They've been calling it right..

But then again, anyone can predict the future if you look hard enough at the present...

So this car is headed for a cliff, many onlookers are there to describe said event and for some reason the supposed driver cannot see danger or if he does refuses to turn the car...Maybe he's busy working all the gears and levers in this car. (Must be a Rube Goldberg type)

Some observers are convinced the cliff is some desert mirage off in the distance and cheer for the car to go faster!

We all watch in utter horror as there seems to be nothing we can do to convince the driver of the danger...

Car just keeps going...Predictable outcome.

What is the car?  Who is the driver?

In this case the car is The World's Economic/Political systems and seemingly, the driver has jumped out of the car while no one was looking...or let his drunk friend drive..

The driver? Oh he's been around for quite a while...We'll need to get this guy in whatever body he inhabits and kill it.....It might too late though, and most of us are still in the car...

For the past three years I have been working in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Arabean Sea, Gulf of Oman, and Persian Gulf. We were either attacked or harrased by pirates a dozen times. Not once were we helped by the US Navy, even though our ship has mostly an American crew. We were helped by the navies of Turkey, Korea, China, and India. I never even saw a US Navy ship even though one night there were cruise missles lobbed over our heads into Yemen. The US Navy might as well head back to the Chesapeake, including the 5th Fleet. Most of the Persian Gulf oil goes to Europe and Asia. Let them worry about it.

Whilst the USA has the undisputed supremacy of the land, sea and air it would be prudent to bear in mind that those who dig graves for others ususally fall into them themselves. Things go wrong even with the best of planning.

In my view, less than desirable regimes that feel insecure, pursue atomic weapons as a means of stopping the West from interfering for fear of unleashing a nuclear response.

The example of North Korea is prooof of how effective a nuclear aresenal is at keeping the USA at bay.

I'd like to offer an apology to the non-US members on the board.  Please understand most of us living in the US would rather not do this but this entire country has been hijacked by the elite.  We can scream all we want, but no one listens.

They'll forge ahead with what they want to do, regardless.

And now for some comical relief.........can't you picture the US getting hit with a couple nukes(or hitting itself with one) and peoples phones will still be ringing off the hooks with credit collectors calling?  Yes, I honestly think things will get that ridiculous and probably even more so.

Also...........I think there has been a great deal of awakening. Does anyone ever get the feeling that this process is being sped up because of it? In other words, all that they've done would've been done anyhow, but on a timeline of 1-10 they skipped steps 4-8 trying to get out ahead of us kicking their heads in.  If they can't have it all, no one can.
