Believe In A Return To The Gold Standard? You Are Now Officially An Extremist According To The FBI

Tyler Durden's picture

Just when we thought the US could not sink any further in its usurpation of civil rights, here comes the FBI to advise all those who tend to think that the broken economic model of the past century is the cause for the global insolvency, that wanton fiat diluation and reckless debt issuance does not 'fix' the problem of uber-leverage, and that the gold standard is the proper way to return to monetary stability, will henceforth be considered extremists. From Reuters: "Anti-government extremists opposed to taxes and regulations pose a growing threat to local law enforcement officers in the United States, the FBI warned on Monday. These extremists, sometimes known as "sovereign citizens," believe they can live outside any type of government authority, FBI agents said at a news conference." And the most epic line ever written: "The extremists may refuse to pay taxes, defy government environmental regulations and believe the United States went bankrupt by going off the gold standard." So... the US did not go bankrupt by going off the gold standard? But why did the US "go bankrupt" then? We are confused.

Undesirable #1:

The insanity continues:

Routine encounters with police can turn violent "at the drop of a hat," said Stuart McArthur, deputy assistant director in the FBI's counterterrorism division.

"We thought it was important to increase the visibility of the threat with state and local law enforcement," he said.

In May 2010, two West Memphis, Arkansas, police officers were shot and killed in an argument that developed after they pulled over a "sovereign citizen" in traffic.

Last year, an extremist in Texas opened fire on a police officer during a traffic stop. The officer was not hit.

Legal convictions of such extremists, mostly for white-collar crimes such as fraud, have increased from 10 in 2009 to 18 each in 2010 and 2011, FBI agents said.

"We are being inundated right now with requests for training from state and local law enforcement on sovereign-related matters," said Casey Carty, an FBI supervisory special agent.

FBI agents said they do not have a tally of people who consider themselves "sovereign citizens."

...

Sovereign members often express particular outrage at tax collection, putting Internal Revenue Service employees at risk.

Maybe it is not too late to be a beggar in Greece. At least there one is allowed to think anything as to why the country is completely broke and the population is living under "absolute poverty" without fear of being deemed a "sovereign citizen" and getting arrested at the drop of a hat.

And for those who still care about facts, below is a chart of global debt since the world formally and terminally went off the gold standard back on August 15, 1971:

You should all be asking the questions: where do I sign up and how do I become a "Sovereign Citizen"

Tue, 02/07/2012 - 18:24 | 2135780 CrockettAlmanac.com

No one is a sovereign citizens as citizenship is defined by the state and the state reserves sovereignty for itself. Each of us is rather a sovereign individual.

We labor under the tender mercies of the state. Some believe that state sovereignty (which supposedly derives its power from the consent of self owned individuals and exists to protect the sovereignty of those individuals) is superior to individual sovereignty. Such a belief can not be sustained logically.

Others obey the state simply out of fear. One need not believe in the just nature of the state in order to feel compelled to pay taxes and submit to regulation.

But one remains a sovereign individual in any case. Each person has a right to control one's own body and property. Criminals both in and out of government work ceaselessly to deny us these rights. But the rights remain as just and valid expressions of natural law no matter who attacks them.

Right on Crocket Almanac. The term "sovereign citizen" is pure psy-ops. The whole point of "citizen" is that they accept a subservient position to their state. The whole point of "sovereign" is self-governing. The two are not compatible. Of course, the FBI would like to muddy the waters in regards to the meaning of both of these words as much as possible.

You cannot quantify, or for that matter qualify, the meaning of the word "citizen." Period.

It means what it means. A member. You either are, or you are not.

This phrase "sovereign citizen" is as you say - nothing but "pure psy-ops."

Everyone must insist on being addressed as a 'citizen'. Just that one word for title, says it all.

You are kind of ill informed. Sovereigns can only make their own law on their own land. You have every right to make contract with someone who you admit onto your property. But by and large Sovereigns follow common law which is just basic law. This is how basic it is, you can only take someone to court or have a case in court if you have suffered a loss either physical harm or financial. That's all their really is to it.

Dear FBI,

I've never called myself a citizen. Never. As for sovereign, well that's one of those political words that lawyers like, so I avoid it as well (as lawyer words are simply too dangerous for civilian use). In fact, I don't call myself much of anything, as the labels don't fit right, and are not applicable.

Glad I could help you clear that up.

kthxbye

Actually, your best move is to find a local print shop and have a bulk order of stickers made.  I did that recently, and 100 bumper stickers cost $87.  At a buck apiece, they moved fast.

More importantly, though, there were a bunch of people who wanted to get more of them made, and went to the shop themselves- just the act of doing it in the first place set the idea in peoples' minds, and now it's got a life of it's own.  People are aware that they have a right to free speech in an abstract sense, but bringing it down to something simple that they can do can work wonders- many people have no interest in standing on a streetcorner with a bullhorn, but are willing and able to display a sign or bumper sticker.

And did they get the phrase "in god we trust" on our currency, considering seperation of Church and State?

Oh because the Fed is actual foriegn banks so they are not considered State?

But they ought to change that phrase to "in Fed we trust". Or "in Lyold with trust."

it's an obligation...  unfortunately...

With no authority granted by the constitution. Even if it were passed as an amendment to include an income tax to everyday human beings and not just federal employes and particular provences it would still be unlawful. The thing you don't get is that rights aren't something granted by the goverment, you are born with them. Exercising those rights on the other hand is the difficult part. But being on the "right" side of law is easy as long as you understand the fundamental basis for law.

and really, common law?  How long has congress and our judiciary been taking a big shit on the common law?  Are you trying to turn back the clock a few centuries?

This is not even considering the taxes levied during the civil war...

We can argue about this all day, but it's not going to make the tax go away...  I would suggest a different angle...  regardless of whether the provisions allowing for an income tax, etc., were properly passed, is it practically possible for the federal government to exist without the power to tax?  I'm not trying to create a false dilema here, but I'm just curious as to what a sovereign man thinks the balance should be...

Common law was pushed aside when the republic was pushed aside.  The removal of the peoples' money through the emergency banking act in 1933 to be precise.

After that law was blended with equity until now all "law" is viewed under the UCC, statutes and codes.  Whenever a defendant is called at an arraignment, and asked if they "understand" the charges against them, it is an offer of contract to accept the terms of our hybrid courts.

Perhaps, MachoMan; however, would you not agree that the government has become excessively paranoid and wholly distrustful of the American people ? Indeed, police no longer "patrol the neighborhood," they "operate in the field" -- "field," implying a battlefield, or theatre of combat. Although I'm certainly entertained by some of the bizarre arguments the legalists use, I believe that it's unlikely that .gov will ever surrender due to some technicality in their own rules.  The legalists should also  realize that by even arguing their case in .gov courts, the legalists  implicitly grant .gov legitimacy.  "You had your day in court and you lost.  Now pay up suckah!"

Actually, there is a fringe group of nuts out there who are traveling the country and breaking into homes they have no association with, living there until someone gets law enforcement involved, and they claim they have some sort of constitutional right to do so, as they've declared themselves sovereign from the U.S. and immune from its laws. They engage in other silliness, also.

It goes beyond silliness, in some cases, as some of the nutbags have killed police officers for daring to write them traffic citations.

McArthur used the 2010 example of when a man and his son shot and killed two police officers during a traffic stop in West Memphis, Ark. The man was a sovereign citizen who previously had only been on the FBI’s radar for white collar scams, he said.

FBI focused on 'sovereign citizen' extremists around the country ...

‎ - Washington Post

Here's a 60 Minutes segment on them, and while 60 Minutes is a lame ass MSM production at its core, they got the details pretty much correct with this movement of imbeciles who are likely to taint the name of those of us who have legitimate and rational grievances with the system, and pursue rational and legal means of trying to alter the system, through legitimate means, for the betterment of all:

Who are "sovereign citizens"? - 60 Minutes - CBS News

Anyone can legally disavow themselves of U.S. citizenship, which is actually a technical and straightforward process (even if it takes times and there are many hoops to jump through), but the only people I'm aware of that are immune from U.S. laws are foreign diplomats, and even then, it's a more narrow exclusion zone than most people believe.

But to confuse the band of nutcase traveling the country, referring to themselves as 'sovereign citizens,' and breaking into and squatting in foreclosed homes in some of the nicer suburbs of Alpharetta or Miami on some claim of immunity with those of us who believe Federal Reserve Notes, along with fiat currency in general, will continue to lose their purchasing power as measured in gold (as history has proven throughout thousands of years, going back to the Chinese Middle Kindgdom, where paper fiat was invented), and who believe fractional reserve banking alchemy is Ponzi that is in a means to an end of stealing from the masses on behalf of the international Money Masters - that's silliness on the part of law enforecement.

And to be fair, while I think these types of law enforcement bulletins are nonsensical and massive waste of taxpayer and law enforcement resources, ZH is trumping it up a bit and making it into something that is several levels more dire than it is on face value, but I can appreciate a flair for the dramatic, I don't think ZH is actually intending on misleading anyone regarding the true gravitas of the situation, and the fundamental point actually is pretty much along the lines of the headline.

But condoning the actions of these imbeciles, or even remaining silent, which can be viewed as a sort of acquiescence, hurts the legitimate cause of those of us who have reasons to focus on legal redress and petition of government for the imbecilism of things such as the policies of The Federal Reserve, the use of taxpayer funds to prop of the zombie banks, the continual debasing of the currency, and idiotic laws and regulatory policies being put into place by the government and governmental agencies.

yep..  the neat part is that as the budgets get cut, the police will have less inclination to find/create bogey men...

further, practically speaking, the only reason why anyone has heard of "sovereign men" is because they're purposefully implemented to make anyone questioning authority look like a lunatic...  you can try and try and try to differentiate yourself, but the damage is done...  the language and terms of argument are controlled...  the mind can only utilize the terms it's given...  they figured this out a LONG time ago and are really, really fucking good at it.

for example, go and try and present the position that 9/11 warrants further and more robust and thorough investigation...  make no value statement about what you think might have happened or whether you believe the official story...  and you will be branded as a fucking whacko...  granted, all you'll hear are ad hominem attacks...  maybe even some engineering details from the more sincere...  but in the end they'll all dismiss you outright, without possibility of dispute.  This is control.  This is how you contain hundreds of millions of people.

When you look at record weapon and ammunition sales, stockpiling of supplies, and recording setting sales of physical bullion for delivery in all forms, anyone with any sense of proportion understands there are far more than just 1 million "Doomers". If they think Sovereign Citizens are a problem they are very naive. There are people salivating at the thought of a collapse. They can run wild among the Sheeple Raping and Pillaging at will.

The people raping and pillaging at will are all connected to and enabled by the Unites States Government. Administrative/Judicial Law has replaced Constitutional Law. Thus, selective enforcement and expansion of Federal powers have become the norm. The law is no longer a shield to protect the people. It is the sword used to destroy them.

Besides, if the FBI were serious about combatting domestic terrorism, then they should look no further than the flash mobs attacking peaceful citizens and businesses across this country on a daily basis.

Skyrocketing gun, gold, and supply sales? If we want a civilization, we'll have to do it ourselves. This one is not going to last much longer.

WASHINGTON - Congress has approved legislation allowing expanded drone flights over the U.S., and possibly some scenic sections of the Empire State.

The bill will guide operation of the Federal Aviation Administration for four years and gives the agency until September 2015 to open up more airspace to the remotely controlled vehicles.
Lawmakers around the country, including U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) see continued growth in military and civilian drone use, and want to lock in aerospace dollars -- and jobs -- for their constituents.

The important thing is that these extremists are increasing in numbers rapidly, increased by 80 PERCENT from 2009 to 2010! At that rate, by 2020, there will be 3500 of them!

But on a more serious note, I know a few people who think like this. They review all the laws, their rights, etc, and then when the police stop them, they recite the law to the officer and the officer doesn't know what to say or do.

The problem is there are so many laws and rules and regulations, that no one can know all of them, which is ridiculous. I believe that at least 51 percent of adult citizens should be capable of comprehending the law, for the law to be effective.

this thing we've got of a small group of people monopolizing the money; it's at the heart of our economic problems.

open up banking to everyone/anyone! barter on!

on the other hand, a strict gold standard; where there were no competing currencies or bartering allowed. it would be akin to 'out of the frying pan and into the fire.'

Not only read Rickard's book but look at his recommended portfolio.

James: My recommended portfolio is 20% gold, 5% silver, 20% undeveloped land in prime locations with development potential, 15% fine art, and 40% cash. The cash is not a long-term position but does give an investor short-term wealth preservation and optionality to pivot into other asset classes when there is greater visibility.

Let us consult the mighty magic book of the Uniform Commercial Code... *thunderclap in the distance*

§ 2-304. Price Payable in Money, Goods, Realty, or Otherwise.

(1) The price may be made payable in money or otherwise. If it is pay-
able in whole or in part in goods, each party is a seller of the goods that
the party is to transfer.

((2) Even if all or part of the price is payable in an interest in real prop-
erty the transfer of the goods, and the seller's obligations with reference to
them are subject to this Article, but not the transfer of the interest in real
property or the transferor's obligations in connection therewith.
As amended in 2003.

See Appendix T for material relating to changes made in text in 2003.
Official Comment
Prior Uniform Statutory Provision: Subsections (2) and (3) of Section 9, Uniform Sales Act.
Changes: Rewritten.
Purposes of Changes:
1. This section corrects the phrasing of the Uniform Sales Act so as to avoid misconstruc-
tion and produce greater accuracy in commercial result. While it continues the essential
intent and purpose of the Uniform Sales Act it rejects any purely verbalistic construction in
disregard of the underlying reason of the provisions.
2. Under subsection (1) the provisions of this Article are applicable to transactions where
the “price” of goods is payable in something other than money. This does not mean, however,
that this whole Article applies automatically and in its entirety simply because an agreed
transfer of title to goods is not a gift. The basic purposes and reasons of the Article must
always be considered in determining the applicability of any of its provisions.
3. Subsection (2) lays down the general principle that when goods are to be exchanged for
realty, the provisions of this Article apply only to those aspects of the transaction which
concern the transfer of title to goods but do not affect the transfer of the realty since the
detailed regulation of various particular contracts which fall outside the scope of this
Article is left to the courts and other legislation. However, the complexities of these situa-
tions may be such that each must be analyzed in the light of the underlying reasons in or-
der to determine the applicable principles. Local statutes dealing with realty are not to be
lightly disregarded or altered by language of this Article. In contrast, this Article declares
definite policies in regard to certain matters legitimately within its scope though concerned
with real property situations, and in those instances the provisions of this Article control.

"Although there were apparently outlines for the proposed sequel "Buckaroo Banzai Against The World Crime League", no script was written by Earl Mac Rauch.

However, a comic book based sequel to the film, called Return of the Screw, has been written by Earl Mac Rauch and W.D. Richter and published by Moonstone Publishing.

Generally, the fault for a lack of a film sequel is lain at the feet of David Begelman, who ran Gladden Entertainment at the time The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai was released. It seems he actively blocked any attempts to produce "Against The World Crime League" though an interview with director W.D. Richter said investors had been willing to put up money for one.

Another reason given for Begelman's refusal is possibly shady business practices on his part, which he feared would've been brought to light if paperwork for a sequel was started. Whether that's true or not, we'll never know. The following article quote was found on AOL's EXTRA OnLine in 1995 :

DAVID BEGELMAN (b. 1922) He represented the two extremes of a movie exec's existence: spending and despair. As president of Columbia Pictures in the '70s, David Begelman oversaw a number of key films: Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Taxi Driver, Shampoo. At some point, personal demons decreed that he embezzle money from his own studio: $40,000 he had no need for.

The 1977 scandal, chronicled in David McClintick's _Indecent Exposure_, brought him down, and though he was back in power within two years, his luck had deserted him--and that is the only crime that matters in Hollywood. After a stint at MGM in the early '80s, he ran two small production companies. In 1994, after one of them filed for bankruptcy, despair closed in.

Begelman booked a room at the Los Angeles Century Plaza Hotel and shot himself. He was 73."

I could give to craps about the gold standard for right now. What is glaring in this article is this; what I want to know is if you classify yourself as a "sovereign citizen" then you are exempt from paying taxes according to contract law? The main argument here is that the U.S. Gov. considers itself to be a corporation and that the sovereign citizen never agreed to be a part of the corporation.

This is not the first time I have heard this argument. And according to those who claimed sovereign status the IRS leaves them alone. Any attorneys out there care to contribute?

As far as I understand, social security is optional; ie its a choice you make. Your parents can fill out a form and sign you up, but as soon as you decide you don't want any part of it, you can go through a process to rescind that number. From there I've read you can actually get back the social security cash that was paid in. Same thing with drivers licenses... its all a choice. Biggest red pill I've learned but haven't taken the plunge yet.

From what I can tell, it's not an easy road. You basically have to become your own attorney by actually learning a massive amount of LAW. And even then, you're still dealing with widespread corruption in the US legal system, and all your new-found knowledge might just get you thrown in jail anyway. It requires a tremendous amount of reading and a high level of comprehension, not to mention an obsessive commitment. This is hard-core, rebellious stuff that can't be done halfway. If you're looking to investigate the possibilities, try these links:

http://sedm.org/forums/index.php?act=idx

http://1215.org/

http://www.barefootsworld.net/admiralty.html

IMO, this kind of stuff needs to be done as a community, which may seem at odds with the pursuit of individual sovereignty, but the task is so large that I don't believe one person can succeed by himself. Finding like-minded people in your area, I believe, would be the only way to seriously tackle this issue.

"The day is not far off when the economic problem will take the back seat where it belongs, and the arena of the heart and the head will be occupied or reoccupied, by our real problems — the problems of life and of human relations, of creation and behaviour and religion."

"I work for a Government I despise for ends I think criminal."

John Maynard Keynes, 1st Baron Keynes of Tilton

Perhaps it wasn't a true Gold Standard but just another manipulated pseudo Gold Standard like that adopted and later receinded by the USA? H'mmm??

And do you also see that Keynes did not say that Gold was a "barbarous relic" as Roubini, Krugman that those of that ilk believe... and preach...

Nothing is what it appears to be - because we all look through rose tinted glases and see only what we want to see and are just too lazy to turn on the cognitive engines.

Apples and Oranges my friend, I believe your red arrow collection may indicate that. Point is, we should have never got off it. Force them to be honest about debt and currency circulation.

Right now, ALL FRN = confetti. Why do you think we want to Fuck up Iran soo badly right now? It's to preserve the Petro Dollar. Roll them into the Central Banking system.

(Q) What do all these Countries that we have been overthrowing and installing new leadership all have in common?

(A) They are not members of the Central Bank = World Bank and don't want to be because they are Soverign Nations with a Petro / oil based economy.

If Iran wins, meaning they still won't accept the Petro Dollar for trade, we stand to loose about 33% of value off our FRN in 1 day possibly. It's not about "Nukes" It's about WMD's of the financial nature.

Why aren't the FBI worried about their money being diluted too?

They either must hire idiots or they don't use FRNs.

Be sure to read Mr. Ralp T. Foster's Fiat Paper Money – The History and Evolution of Our Currency. It fully exposes the fallacies surrounding fiat paper money or whatever you would like to call it.

UHHH,  you sovereign guys, if anyone asks you if you are sovereign citizen, its a trick question to label yourself a domestic terrorist.   Don't do it.

Emergency banking act of 1933,  Hmm guess the FBI did not read that one.   Notice the DISTINCTION of classess of citizens in this act.

HJR192.  HMM not that one too.  Congress commited treason, and a month later they passed this one.

I better not say anymore cuz the black Helicopters are a comming;)

Im not a terrorist!

Im not a terrorist!

Clicks heels.

Im not a terrorist!

well, Churchill didn't have to choose the pre-war price for gold. He did & that was a mistake. A higher price would have been fine.
