Consumer Sentiment Highest Since January 2008
77.8 on expectations of 76.0. Highest since January 2008. Yup: the US "consumers" (of what? Patek Philippes? Cristal? 8 balls? Dorsia deserts?) polled by Reuters, have not had it better in 4 years. After all what is there not to be confident about: record number of people on disability, foodstamps, out of the labor force, market sliding, banks imploding, Europe about to fall apart, gas near record highs, home prices quadruple dipping, and the prospect of much, much higher taxes next year to boot. Whatever - just charge it.

Wow, this is outstanding news. I just put through a $1B long EUR order with 100X leverage. Also I hit every ask on every stock out there. Nothing but blue skys here.
Constant bullshit...didn't we just see that is was the worst ever just the other fukking day? WTF!!
Confident to marry someone random. The male/female ratio is no longer an issue.
Diane Sawyer will undoubtedly lead with this story. Next shell follow with "is Mitt Romney homophobic"
I would be very interested in a similar survey conducted with consumers NOT on psychotropic medications. Dare I say, the results would be markedly different.
I am Tuco and I say NWO - DOA!
If the markets are truely manipulated, and so many are getting their shorts beat out of them, why do you keep playing? Have you no other skill or means of income or are you just addicted to the game? Seems to me if you would just stop all of this would end pretty quickly.
Whats the difference between a recession and a depression ??
In a recession your neighbor is out of work.
In a depression you are out of work.
Yep, everything looks great. Of course, some only look into a mirror that reflects them from the waist up.
One can ignore or distort the truth, but the truth remains - and it is getting uglier by the day.
Who do they call. Beverly Hills and the Hamptons? How big is their sample. I'm 50 and they have never called me. The BLS claims to call 50,000 people every month, you would think I would have been called at least once.
If you have been polled on consumer sentiment or by the BLS please respond here. My guess is none of you have ever been polled by either.

Both LPS and CoreLogic house price reports are optimistic as well.
Let's see what the government can do to screw it up.
Perhaps it has to do with tax refund time. When I told my progressive brother how much money the governement refunded me (with me having paid nothing in), he said it was almost enough to turn him into a Tea Partier. I am very carefully using that tax refund money in my business to make more money, but probably most are just buying TVs and gadgets with it.
I am actually far better off than 4 years ago, because 4 years ago was a living hell for me. My living was in real estate, so you can imagine.
I am not sure of the statute of limitations in every state, but in California, the statute of limitations on credit card debt is 4 years since the last payment, so perhaps a bunch of credit is defaulted on at this point, making people feel wealthier.
