From the Daily Mail:
An Oregon University professor has controversially compared skepticism of global warming to racism.
Sociology and environmental studies professor Kari Norgaard wrote a paper criticising non-believers, suggesting that doubters have a ‘sickness’.
The professor, who holds a B.S. in biology and a master’s and PhD in sociology, argued that ‘cultural resistance’ to accepting humans as being responsible for climate change ‘must be recognised and treated’ as an aberrant sociological behaviour.
Really? Doubters have an illness? Isn’t pathologising dissidents a hallmark of authoritarianism? Weren’t dissidents under the Soviet Union often sent to psychiatric hospitals to be “treated” for their behaviour? Hasn’t Norgaard read Solzhenitsyn’s Gulag Archipelago?
And really “doubters” could mean a lot of things. Does it solely mean those who believe climate change is not happening? What about climate agnostics? Does it mean those who believe that climate change is happening but that it is not man-made? Does it mean those who believe that it is happening, but who disagree with Norgaard’s proposed solutions?:
Norgaard last week attended the annual four-day ‘Planet Under Pressure’ international conference in London, where she presented her controversial paper to delegates on Wednesday.
The scientists behind the event recently put out a statement calling for humans to be packed into denser cities so that the rest of the planet can be surrendered to mother nature.
And fellow attendee Yale University professor Karen Seto told MSNBC: ‘We certainly don’t want them (humans) strolling about the entire countryside. We want them to save land for nature by living closely [together].’
And does it include those (including me) who believe that man-made climate change is happening — and has been happening for thousands of years — but that it seems to broadly be a good thing?
From the BBC:
Human emissions of carbon dioxide will defer the next Ice Age, say scientists.
The last Ice Age ended about 11,500 years ago, and when the next one should begin has not been entirely clear.
Researchers used data on the Earth’s orbit and other things to find the historical warm interglacial period that looks most like the current one.
In the journal Nature Geoscience, they write that the next Ice Age would begin within 1,500 years – but emissions have been so high that it will not.
Certainly, if human emissions keep the Earth warmer than the pre-human cycle (i.e. widespread cyclical glaciation), that would appear to be a good thing in the long run for human civilisation.
And what about my position that a ultra-complex (and arguably stochastic) system like the climate is not meaningfully modellable, and therefore that climate certainty is impossible? While it seems to make sense that higher levels of atmospheric CO2 will produce higher temperatures, and while there are a myriad of simplified models out there that seem to suggest the same thing, there is no substitute for long-term empirical evidence, of which we have very little. In a system as complex as the Earth’s climate, there could be a whole swathe of effects that we have not yet identified that could drastically change the outcome (for better, or for worse). For Norgaard, does an understanding of the limitations of probabilistic modelling constitute a mental illness? Should I be committed to treatment to “cure” me of my beliefs?
Because that is what Norgaard’s words lead me to believe. And that sounds worryingly like Neo-Stalinism.

"She could scare a dog off a meat truck"
Another one bringing tears to my eyes. Still LMAO
Have you ever noticed how these uber-liberal, fringey, academia types all look as though they were dropped on the floor and kicked at birth?
im still not convinced its that Apple app that makes your face look downs syndrome held an open house on your face.
Fucking awesome.
These professors are against the open mind, against inconvenient facts.
Historians and archaeologists note that the planet earth had much warmer phases in history than now ... during the mediaeval era and during the Roman Empire. The Arctic ice caps have melted before through the ages.
But the global warming fascists say ignore that.
The evidence for man-made global warming is so weak, they had the giant 'climategate' scandal at that University of East Anglia that was getting all the 'global warming' grant money ... how they were faking and mis-representing evidence to keep the grant money flowing ...
But according to this twisted woman, it's an 'illness' to mention these 'inconvenient truths'.
There is a real fascist streak among US college professors. They live in a society that has created a cult of power and dominance, and American professors feel frustrated at not having more money and power like the people on Wall Street. Their only power is over a few drunk or stoned students who are getting sunk into eternal US student loan debt, but they want to be Big Wheels, feel 'important', they dream of power over others.
Tenured professors are arrogant beyond belief.
It is the worship of "education" that has brought us here.
Quite correct my hairy friend. This is a great illustration of the difference between being educated and having wisdom.
Some of us college profs out here actually suggest our students think for themselves. We start a semester by telling them that they had better not believe a damn thing that we say the entire semester. They should check out all the shit that comes from our mouths for themselves. And we repeat it ad nauseum. We even let the cat out of the bag that we say things that we don't even believe. Some come around. Many follow the horse-faced woman and anything she says.
That being said, I am a pariah. I get colleagues who tell me I end up causing problems for their classes. I tell them, You're welcome," but they don't understand that students thinking for themselves is a good thing. That active questioning means the students actually give a damn about our classes.
Sadly, you are a dying breed.
Many moons ago my Psych 101 prof told us that our professors would tell us that they wanted us to express our own opinions. He said that you needed to translate that into "I want you to tell me everything I told you". Our opinion needed to be theirs if we wanted to pass. It was very good advice as it was a rare prof in my time as a student who did not punish creativity and free thought.
Agreed, I was stupid enough to believe that until I started getting ejected from classes with some regularity. On the plus side it prevented me from pursuing a career in academia, so I should thank those intolerant narrow minded mediocrities for hammering that point home while I was still young I guess.
It only took a few controlling teachers to wither my interest in academics. By the time I entered college I was so disinterested in being manipulated, I decided I shoulld at least get paid for the pleasure and went to work. Nows I haves my own buziness, and can writes my own cheques to my coorporate masters, and ima just fine.
Cream is cream, no matter the wipping.

it not condusive to the agenda
They did invent antibiotics and other things. The antibiotics alone makes putting up with random bs justifiable.
A real education teaches a person how to think for themselves, solve problems, and conduct research and come to the proper conclusions. Most colleges today are more interested in brainwashing the students. More than half the students graduate with a degree in social sciences, ethnic studies, or liberal arts. They are unemployable outside of coffee shops, government, HR, or retail.
There appears to be a definite man-made modification to the environment that is ongoing and undeclared courtesy of the sociopathic/psychopathic guild of scientific control freak technocrats like the Oregon professor.
I challenge anyone to watch the movie below, "What in the World Are They Spraying?", produced by G. Edward Griffin and NOT be angry and concerned.
I was skeptical on the subject of atmospheric geo-engineering before I saw this, I'm not now.
The atmosphere appears to be just one of the three spheres of their unholy trinity of non-consenual environmental pollution that they are engaged in (air, water (sodium fluoride) and food (GMO)) as a part of what appears to be a non-declared experiment in re-ordering resources and freedom. AGW, in away, may just be a sideshow smokescreen to the bigger picture.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jf0khstYDLA&feature=fvst
all probably true, but still reminds me of General Jack Ripper's purity of essence and precious bodily fluids. not that he was wrong, mind you.
Come to think of it, that's the problem with artists like Stanley Kubrick - they make fun of serious shit, I laugh, and then I am confused about who's right and who's wrong. I don't forget that Archie Bunker played by Carroll O'Connor was intended by Norman Lear as an object of ridicule, but it turned out he was a voice for a silent majority, which in turn was ironic, because their viewing made Lear even more money with which to beat their sorry asses.
The legend is that Kubrick was more than aware of that crew and their agenda.
'Revelation of the Method' has its limits I guess and may have taken on deadly proportions for him personally for Eyes Wide Shut, or as the story goes...
The most deadly and concerning thing about the poison they dump in the water under the label 'sodium fluoride', apart from radioactive elements found in drinking water in Texas and elsewhere (you can Google it) attributed to the additive is fluoride itself.
One of the most reactive ions in the Periodic Table, fluoride is used in the aluminum smelting industry to capture and create aluminum slag. It was Edward Bernays, the godfather of propaganda and big industry's poisonous pimp who came up with the idea of dumping the industry's waste as an additive at a profit instead of a liability.
Fluoride is one of the most difficult to filter once it is in the water supply and will readily combine with all that aluminum that is being dumped into the environment via their geo-engineering.
The primary heath danger for the average human exposed to this combination is the association of aluminum poisoning with cancer and most significantly Alzheimer's.
working as intended.

CA,
It was your exchange with another commenter on this subject, I think the term he used was chemtrails (a slide word that appears to sow disbelief) earlier that had me look at the film.
Kudos, to the filmmakers. The story is staggering in its implications.
The more you know, the angrier you get...
thanks palmereldritch.
I've been posting about this subject since I first signed up here, and mostly get "conspiracy" flack thrown back - not that it matters, but it's good to know occasionally someone *gets* it.
when one connects the dots with GMO (patented aluminum resistant seeds), the dying trees, less available oxygen in the environment - which is vital to life - degraded corporate food - mercury in high fructose corn syrup! - and the spraying of our skies with the absolute majority oblivious to what goes on overhead (heads down texting, minds pre-occupied with themselves). . . ahh, as we know I could go on, heh. . .

Check out these guys. Out of Austin. I've linked one of their songs before.
A little heavier but a great psychedelic Doors feel.
Black Angels

Never heard of those guys, good stuff. The singer has a kind of Neil Young sound that goes well with the psychedelic mood. Interesting blend, thanks for the link.
This one's got some kick (obviously I dig the Southern axemen, but I appreciate any good guitar).

y'know Dawg, I'm not all that versed in "southern rock" (sorry for the stereotype, urgh), but EACH of your links were worth saving - that's some fine guitar playing, from the 3 guitars interacting in the first link - reminiscent of old Allman Bros. a bit - to the almost sitar slide playing in the second - love these guys, will look more into their work, thanks.
this isn't that - but it's got some great geeetar, and the lyrics are fun (shot from teevee, sucks)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvarwdjFtXQ&feature=related
where would we all be without guitars?
Glad you enjoyed them, CA. Your allusion to the Allman Brothers was right on target. Derek Trucks is the son of Butch Trucks, long time Allman Brothers drummer, and grew up idolizing Duane. Warren Haynes, in the first and third links, has toured with the Brothers for years as lead guitar. Those guys are always mixing it up and jamming with each other under different band names. Go to a Gov't Mule show and you never know who might take the stage.
ah yes, pedigree!
your links had me up very late, just following the UTube trail (I shudder at the thought of losing internet), those Southern folks sure can play!
here's a parting tune for you - THESE guitar licks. . . *grin* (and the hair!!! the thread nazis would go wild, heh)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6mwOixCObc&feature=related
Great music, my thanks to all of you! I haven't listened to the Allman Brothers in years and the others were new to me but I'll keep the links handy because they're all fantastic!
Awesome! Thanks, CA. Nice finishing touch.
Addendum: FWIW I am not advocating some grand conspiracy. My comments on Kubrick were just a sidebar on a certain lunatic death cult that seems to get its jollies and derive power from pain and destruction, so they invariably make an appearance at the grander crime scenes.
My comment is meant to be an analysis and concern for what appears to the overlap of two separate conspiracies (and by conspiracy I mean a malignant, stealth business plan executed by the psychopathic elite).
Sodium fluoride began with the dumping of aluminum smelter and now phosphate fertilizer waste at a profit instead of a loss with the added benefit that the NaF made humans passive as their brain stems necrotized.
At least one element of the geo-engineering appears to be about changing the soil’s ph by adding Al so that organic seeds will wither and GMO seeds resistant to aluminum will be the only choice.
The confluence of these two poisonous dumping plans, F + Al, promises to be potentially catastrophic for any humans exposed to this combination.
trees are dying off as well - as are animals, pets - it's an environmental issue. . .

BINGO!
You nailed it. They are "smarter" than everyone else. Consequently they resent the power and money so many "idiots" make or have. Their "brillance" is nowhere near being properly compensated either by prestige or by salary.
They are pathetic, mean, tiny, little souls who's only compensation is found in denigrating the "fools" that surround them.
When did BaBa Booey get all environmental?
NO, worst post of the year. And with new-new neo science! So, 'the guest poster' is smart enough to realize that global warning is real and man-made, ok, good for you. But then says that the Earth warming is a good thing for us humans! Oh. My. So, we don't need regulations on polluters....No, we need neo-regulations pushing for MORE pollution....cause its good for da human race doncha know....exxon said so. Yup. be scared of this ugly bitch, but don'y worry about what exxon/etc is doing to the planet...cause...its good for you. Ubetcha.
Read the damn BBC article. Global warming will stave off another cycle of glaciation. The last cycle of glaciation pushed humanity to the edge. Just so long as we can control global warming (i.e. by reducing emissions gradually, and without all the authoritarian and neo-Malthusian B.S.) so we do not get a runaway warming effect it does seem like in the long run it is basically a good thing.
Other forms of pollution (e.g. CFCs, Fukushima) are NOT good, and by absolutely no means is the article apologising for them.
These kind of people have no need to read anything, as their minds are fully made up.
I read it. Did you? My mind is open. Try not to miss the point. From the piece:
Skinner said his group had anticipated this kind of reception. -(ur kind)
"It's an interesting philosophical discussion - 'would we better off in a warm [interglacial-type] world rather than a glaciation?' and probably we would," he said. -(dealing w/ drought easier than living w/ mile high glacier on ur head)
"But it's missing the point, because where we're going is not maintaining our currently warm climate but heating it much further, and adding CO2 to a warm climate is very different from adding it to a cold climate.
"The rate of change with CO2 is basically unprecedented, and there are huge consequences if we can't cope with that."
Well, it does give new possibilities. The very warm late winter/spring let me get an early start on the growing season, I put 50 tomato plants in last week which in previous years wouldnt have gone in for 2-3 more and have an equal number ready for transplant. My 400 ish sugar snap pea plants have been growing quite well and are flowering, my potatoes are going bonkers (a bit unusual as they dont mind cool)and I have a couple hundred hundred melon plants and few dozen cucumbers going into the ground earlier then they otherwise would have as I germinate outside and dont have a greenhouse.
Guess what all those plants use as a food source, and what they will all consume more of with an extended growing season? Who'd a thunk it?
Ya know, you could help the process and get off your butt and go plant something to take advantage of the opportunity afforded by early warm weather, or you can be like most lazy urban greenies- sit on your air conditioned asses indoors, lecture others on the internet, and pretend that you are "raising awareness" or some nonsense. Quit talking and start doing if you dont like CO2. Perhaps you yourself should cease producing it?
First week of April and my neck is already deep red and sunburnt- woohoo! I certainly hope that these wonderful enlightened folk will venture from their air conditioned apartments to ejekt us pore dum redneks frum are lands owt in da boonies.
Its high time for hunting season with no bag limit on these statist swine.
You do realize that the wealthier a society gets, the more capital they have to put towards reducing emissions, R&D for new ways to reduce waste, etc.?
What does not reduce pollution:
1) Billions of barrels of oil used to produce and transport billions more barrels of oil, to be burned in the production of tanks and bombs, to blow up nations, then billions of barrels of oil used to produce and transport materials (including lumber from trees and metals obtained by blowing up mountains) to rebuild said nations, just so we can blow them up again.
2) Nations full of starving people don't care about pollution. They care about survival. Government central planning consumes wealth, misdirects its uses, and usually leads to debt-ridden populations who will care little about reducing pollution. It is only when basic needs are met that humans will direct their attention to environmental protection.
3) The more government is in control of the use of/production of resources such as oil, the more power companies like Exxon obtain (power derived from political backing). When government controls an industry and eliminates the competition for a company like Exxon, they have more power to harm the environment, not less. It also makes it virtually impossible for individuals to opt to choose a socially/environmentally responsible company, when the government decides for them which companies will remain in business.
4) A justice system which refuses to make a company responsible for and accountable for cleaning up pollution it has created. Companies like Exxon have been given the wink and nod from judges and from regulatory agencies who agree to look the other way in exchange for favors, often including membership on the company's board when they retire from the regulatory agency. And those who work for companies like Exxon are given positions in the agency. Its a big daisy chain, and the environment is not improved in this process.
To suggest that environmental regulation improves the environment is not any different than believing that the SEC improves the fairness of trading, or that the Fed protects the value of our monetary system.
Excellent post.
I"m constantly explaining to people how we used to have a right to sue polluters for personal damages, then along came the EPA and legalized it all, just so long as politically chosen limits are observed. Limits, of course, which are determined by moral relativism, the so-called theory of the "greater good," and everybody's friend, lobbyists.
As Mises, Rothbard, Paul, et al. have all stated, it's all about personal property rights. In this case, that would be the right to not be harmed by corporations attached to the state.
True. Furthermore, individuals cannot defend themselves against the power of government agencies. Which means that if the EPA allows pollution by their crony buddies, and we suffer from it, we have no power to hold an agency accountable.
Agencies of government are left "faceless" for a reason. No accountability exists when you are fighting a nameless, faceless entity.
(the existence of corporations as entities removed legally from the people controlling them, makes them faceless as well. so you have faceless corporate entitites protected by faceless government agencies)
The judicial system was intended to protect individual liberty (the flipside of which is individual accountability, since you cannot have a right without a responsibility in its use). Our system has become one of collective groups instead of individuals. As the rights are removed from the individual and granted to the group, the accountability shifts with it.
Transparency is lost in this form, because the people behind the group cannot be identified. This is why corporatism and government have become secretive. Individuals act while hiding behind an "Inc." or a ".gov"
...You do realize.... That we already have become a wealthy society!?
You state: "the wealthier a society gets, the more capital they have to put towards reducing emissions, R&D for new ways to reduce waste, etc."
Yea, so when are we going to be wealthy enough for all this to happen!? Wealth is being used to get more wealth. Only. Period..... Attention. The gubnit does not control exxon.... it is the other way around. The cronyism does exist and is the problem, but advocating less regulation on exxon/etc so that THEY can become "wealthier" and then get around to reducing emmisions/waste ain't gonna happen/work. You speak of crony lobbyists taking over the courts and the epa, and suggest that environmental regulations will never work because there is no accountability. So, because there is no accountability there should be no regulation. And w/out accountability/transparency we should all just give up. Yup. Swell arguments. Ubetcha.
I agree entirely with your motivation.
But, I believe LIES to promote a "cause", no matter how noble, only end up hurting the "cause".
We want to replace fossil fuels because they pollute, the price is manipulated, they leave us financially vulnerable to terrorist 3rd world nations. What "science" has a hard time coming to grips with, is that they can't VOTE evidence. We still require proof. Theories, models, postulations need to lead to proof, otherwise they are just fodder for research grants.

Trying to work from within the system, keeping its corruption as an unstated/unquestioned initial state, will necessarily lead to corrupted application, however good were the ideals. As they say, the path to hell...
@AustriAnnie
Great comment.
We must be vigilant and aware of any environmental standards that simply serve as another malignant arrow in the quiver of plutocratic mercantilism.
IMO we need to renounce the concept of humans as just another resource to be exploited (the ultimate de-humanization). Only then can we make the system accountable to the environment that we are entrusted to protect.
Global warming forecasts were modeled by the same folks who forecasted unemployment to be down after the first STIMULUS package was passed. Nuff Said.. Is it me, but why does it look like this PhD suffers from Downs syndrome or fetal alcohol syndrome?
So if that logic holds any water then that also means that all economists are scientists and all scientists are economists. Makes sense to me. Thanks for comin out GenX, you're input is statistically valued.
Eugene Oregon, where U of O is, is an Obama über stronghold. It demonstrates the power of the koolaid. It is filled with ultra left hippies who preach peace and love but yet still vehemently support the war monger Obama. Obama can do no wrong in their eyes.
I did have a great experience though when my wife had to do some work there and we had to stay for a couple of days back in 2008. We were staying at the Hilton and I walked into the lobby and into the middle of the 2008 state democratic convention, had no idea it was happening, and I was pushing my 2 kids in a stroller and Open Carrying. Oh the looks were priceless. Total cognitive dissonance registering on faces as the confusion set in over a man with a big scary gun on his hip pushing kids in a stroller through the lobby.
But yeah, paying for your kids college education and having this psycho bitch "teaching" them?
LOL, funny!
I've been to Portland a few times, and could not help but be overwhelmed by all of the lefties proudly sporting their sweat-shop produced Nikes.
Even stranger though, was the militant homeless youth (grunge wannabes who couldn't find Seattle?) who would get mad and start yelling if you didn't give them a handout. One approached me as I was going into a fast-food place, got mad that I'm not made of money, then proceeded to kick the window and scream outside my table after I sat down.
That was my first experience with Angry Hippies. What did I learn? Peace is optional, and based on consumption of unhealthy food.
After getting angry at you for not giving him money, did he go back to pick up his "money is the root of all evil" or "hugs, not dollars" sign?
y'gotta laugh when you read
so, you interviewed all the Nike wearers and deduced their status on the the artificial "left vs. right" scale? or did you just read that Portland is teh lefties, and upon arrival start counting teh shoes 'n' shirts?
seriously, the word prejudiced - pre-judged - is tailor made for this comment. and how do you get "militant homeless youth" morphed into "hippies" - or is everyone not you subject to a derogatory label?
this thread is a gold mine of media meme disinfo, pure comedy.
it is bizzare. this subject always brings out the strangest logic
full moon DaveyJones, haters gonna hate, ha!
As someone who lives in Oregon, I can tell you that the greater Eugene metro area is filled with lunatics like this. What really gets me is that they espouse the anti-capitalist BS but suck on Phil Knights' and Nike's tit. Who in their right mind wants to live where it rains nine months out of the year? If it weren't for Nike, the UofO would be just another backwater college, and this piece of work would be on the unemployment line.
I live east of the Cascades.
Don't know if you've seen any of the debate over outlawing trapping? These people are insane. Trapping predators to protect livestock, take pelts or whatever, they view as extreme evil that needs to be outlawed, but it's all fine and dandy that Obama endlessly racks up innocent civillian deaths with bombs and drone strikes. They sure love their leather shoes and steaks from ultra cruel commercial animal operations too. I've had non-vegetarians refuse to eat elk I've killed because it was "cruel" but that pig sausage they ate at breakfast is perfectly acceptable.
Exactly what the david rockefellers of the world want. Stop anyone from knowing how to survive by themselves. Everywhere.
"Who in their right mind wants to live where it rains nine months out of the year? "
Who in their right mind wants to live where there is a volcano?
Who in their right mind wants to live where there is a geological fault?
Who in their right mind wants to live where there are hurricanes?
Who in their right mind wants to live where there are tornados?
Who in their right mind wants to live in a desert?
Who in their right mind wants to live where you get tsunamis?
Who in their right mind wants to live on a flood plain?
That there United States must have a lot of people not in their right mind. Let me guess, you're one of them.
Who in their right mind wants to live where it snows 6 months out of year?
Who in their right mind wants to live 4 hours from an interstate?
Who in their right mind wants to live 4 1/2 hours from a city of 100,000?
Me, that's who. It keeps most of the riff-raff away, except them damn FIBs that come here snowmobiling....
This planet is full of sick people, and the causes they espouse have little to no bearing on their said mental illnesses.
Most idiotic post yet on ZH.
Best idiot moment (other than the braindead comments):
"And does it include those (including me) who believe that man-made climate change is happening — and has been happening for thousands of years — but that it seems to broadly be a good thing?"
perhaps you are guilty of the accusation: this is a worthy post exposing how all sides are populated with demented fucktards, of which you clearly are not expect, irrespective of what you believe for your brain death is betrayed by the quality of your comment.

And like most people we’d like to see the world a better place, which in this context translates into our working to
reduce the risk of potentially disastrous climate change.
To do that we need to get some broad based
support, to capture the public’s imagination. That, of course, means getting loads of media coverage. So
we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements, and make little mention of any
doubts we might have.
This “double ethical bind” we frequently find ourselves in cannot be solved by any
formula.
Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest.
I hope that means being both.”
Quotes taken out of context to push an agenda are not helpful, btw.
I've seen the full context. The full context does not excuse Dr. Schneider's position. The statement "Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest," is clear regardless of context. Why would a scientist have to balance honesty against anything else? How can a scientist be effective if uncompromised truth is not his top priority?
The full quote doesnt change anything whatsoever regarding context or meaning, that sentence is still illustrative of his mindset and quite damning.
Retardation is a bitch..
Shes look like that british chick who thinks shes treated poorly cause shes so hot.

Academia is full of people like this. Check out any black, women, asian, hispanic studies or white privilege study department of any university. One big hate fest. These people are the losers of the world who want to take it out on their betters. They get their material from jews, by the way.
What a Fascist,so educated she does not need the rest of the human race.
I would have made the title: The Ugly Face of Authoritarian Environmentalism. Other than that the article is great. It's crazy how those that advocate forcing people to submit to their cause v. those that seek to use persuasion to have others join their cause think they have the moral high-ground. It blows my mind.
Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals. But to be punished, however severely, because we have deserved it, because we "ought to have known better," is to be treated as a human person made in God's image.

:O
This woman has made me a believer in plastic surgery!
Her face is BUSTED!!
I saw her photo on www.prisonplanet.com and thought it was a horror story on vaccines crippling and killing people. Then I see her here. True story.
C + O2 = CO2 + Energy
CO2 + Energy (Photosynthesis) = C + 02
In a cyclically closed system the CO2 & O2 should be present in similar amounts, unless one is absorbed at a greater rate than the other.
Amount of CO2 in the atmosphere = 350ppm (how this average defined/measured across the globe?)*
Amount of O2 in the atmosohere = 200,000ppm
* seems like a natrural residue from an absorption mechanism.
Until someone understands just how good the plant-life of the world is good at mopping up the CO2 in the world and it's upper capacity, these anti-carbon arguments are moot or misguided. Plus, mst of the CO2 comes from oceans and volcanoes, which are a little harder to regulate. Lastly, CO2 has been a lagging indicator to temp over the hsitorical record and it's greenhouse feedback strength is much weaker than imagined.
There needs to be a real comparison of scientific papers supporting AGW vs those identifiying something else.
She was obviously beaten by one of her beloved trees.
No, just a branch. Called the ugly stick
I feel sorry for her vibrator.
An authoritarian face only an authoritarian mother could love

Global warming is a banker's hoax.
That woman is just a Pachamama wannabe.
Sociology degree, bitchez!
Hey take it easy there Alice... is MBA garbage because Corzine has an MBA?
Sociology is about structures, systems, groups and their dynamics. My angle, for instance, was its application in work and business (integration of new technologies in the workplace, and so on).
"Sociology=Socialist" is a myth.
Now, are some sociologists socialists? Absolutely!
Are some sociologists afflicted with authoritarianism? You bet...
Nassim Taleb says MBA = garbage.
I tend to believe him.
Didn't the MBA come along in the last century, for "scientific management" of companies?
The same kind of "scientific management" by MBA Robert McNamara, king of the "Whiz Kids" who could "scientifically manage" the conflict in French Indochina?
The same kind of "scientific management" practiced by Central Bankers, that has worked so well for so many years and will never fail?
Fuck an MBA, grow leaders from within. At least they know the business from bottom up....
one might use knowledge gleaned from the study of systems, groups and their dynamics to gain awareness of how reality is structured and manipulated towards particular end goals.
and that might make one less inclined to participate, or be used.
one might also just be wary of anything not labeled "business" studies, and content to repeat whatever those around you accept as reality.
safety in numbers.
Now you have pissed me off. I am from Oregon and have dealt with those disturbed lesbo enviro commies types. Ignorant to the core. Rot in hell!!!!
WTF?
Un. Fucking. Believable.
Poster-child for forced sterilization.

I'm a misanthrope because I don't have any faith in people, or trust them. This bitch is just an environazi. I couldn't care less what the fuck the rest of you end up doing, just as long as it doesn't involve me.

Holy Ballsack.
Norgaard is a nazi lysenkoist paleo-pol pot cunt.
i would prefer to hear a scientific debate rather than a political screed by a totalitarian cunt.
climate change is a fact of history and has many causes, the very least of which is man made co2 - a mere drop in the bucket to the gases produced by the earth.
if the case were so powerful for global warming, the un would not have resorted to data fabrication to make its goebelsesque claims, and al Gore would not be living in a 9 million usd mansion on the coast consuming voracious quantities of energy to power his massive suv.
no, the sick, psychopathic, trogladyte is the cunt, Norgaard
Ya' know,
I'm Really Getting Fucking Sick and Tired of Being Called a Racist.
I don't like somebody's politics, I'm a racist.
I disagree with somebody's economic orientation, I'm a racist.
I vote different than somebody else, I'm a fucking racist.
I dislike certain music, I'm a racist.
I think somebody is either guilty or innocent of a crime and depending upon their color, I'm a racist.
I like politically incorrect jokes. I'm a racist.
I like or dislike certain foods, I'm a racist.
Ditto sports, a racist.
I believe that all faiths, colors, genders, creeds, nationalities have certain sociological biases and cultural affinities, so I'm called a racist.
We no longer call what is is, for it must be masked in politically correct terminology thereby demeaning everybody, and if I protest, hell if I even point this out, I'm a racist.
I try not to make any judgements, considerations, decisions based upon race, but at times not favoring certain aspects, I'm a racist.
I support one ro another political party or philosophy, I'm a racist.
I read certain publications. Whoops, a Fucking Racist!
I live in the part of town in which I live where others Choose Not To, but I'm the racist.
I dislike people calling me a racist, so I must be a mean spirited racist.
I pay my taxes and abide by the laws, but have opinions about them some find at odds with their own... I'm a racist.
I don't like specific entertainment and news venues, I'm a racist.
Whatthefuckever, if somebody disagrees, I'm the fucking racist.
Got some news for ya'll.
I'm tired of being called a racist.
You want some fucking racism, then welcome to the world you've created for us both, for I am certainly by any of the standards above, a racist.
So I might as well just toss aside any and all pretences of civility, humanity, kindmess and tolerance and just behave like you fucking eveidently want me to, as a racist.
As a fucking racist.
Fuck you, you white overeducated intellectual snob priviliged sanctimonious racist cunt.
Fuck you.
And your friends and affiltiations, your preferences and beliefs.
Ya'll oughta be sent back to the country from which your forefathers came.
You want racism, you're gonna get what you've requested, big and hard.
Yet, as an educated gentleman, I cannot behave as such, for I shall not stoop to your level, madame. You are hereby dismissed as valid.
anti racist is just code word for anti white
Africa for the Africans
Asia for the Asians
White Countries for everybody
I dont see any other countries being forceably blended away, just white countries.
Its genocide
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genocide
Genocide is defined as "the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group",[1] ... a legal definition is found in the 1948 United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG). Article 2 of this convention defines genocide as "any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: killing members of the group; causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life, calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group children of the group to another group."[3]. It can simply also be known as the intent to destroy a group, in part or in whole. Intent must be proven, otherwise the crime cannot be identified as genocide.
"I dont see any other countries being forceably blended away, just white countries."
Now let me think for a moment... hmmmmm, white people going where there weren't any......... I know! The Fucking United States!
We are all racists. Apply a little serious logical thought to the topic and it becomes clear that racism is a human instinct. Fear of the unkown and all that. Any success at not being a racist requires proactive concious determination to not behave in a racist fashion. Kinda obvious really, when you actually open your eyes and examine humans and their seriously screwed up nature and resulting behavior.
I'm tired of being called a racist by the white guilt crowd when I say that white boys should be able to hold their own heritage and gender in esteem and I'm tired of being told that I have a case of white guilt when I say that I've studied the available facts in the Martin killing and I believe that Zimmerman should be tried.
But I imagine that I'm going to be tired of that sort of thing for the rest of my life. That's why there's beer and I'm just about ready for one. I think I'll enjoy it on my globally warmed porch while I watch the various colors of overheated and opinionated humanity stroll by.
"Racist" is the modern equivalent of the word "witch".
Every time I hear anyone use the word "racist", I just see them shouting "WITCH!" "WITCH" a la Crucible style, foaming at the mouth, their pointed fingers quivering. Incidentally, ime, the people who are most possessed by the notion of "racists" and "racism" tend to be some of the most insidiously prejudical people I have ever met, usually obsessed with the almost-colonial idea of fitting everyone into some weird and completely inappropriate racial classification system.
And just like a charge of witchcraft, there is no way you can defend yourself against a charge of racism. You can be black and "racist" towards black people (yes, the British legal system will prosecute a black man for being racist to another black man, so long as the latter *perceives* the former to have directed something "racist" to him in public space). In fact, it is so bad in Britain now that you can actually be prosecuted for racism even if the "victim" did not perceive a racist act to have taken place, but a bystander did.
And as for such folk as our professor above, these people makes me laugh. They will fundamentally wipe themselves out. You can see already that her politics means she makes personal decisions that are ruinous to her health. Her skin and hair, for example, suggest she is malnourished.
funny, as a reformed smoker I could say the same thing about smoking
OT:
F/A-18 crashes in Virginia Beach.
This is what the rubble of an aircraft looks like when it hits a building. Note the intact tail/engine section.
Dial 911
Go figure.
http://www.wavy.com/subindex/news/local_news/va_beach
This looks more like a low-speed stall and belly-flop type crash (similar to the wreck of that F-15 that 'crashed' in Libya last year).
When in a stall they can flat-spin and waft downward like a large leaf falling, rather than a fast pointy-end downwards sort of impact.
Notice the lack of slide or impact marks on the ground behind it? It's dropped out of the sky in that basic flat orientation.
(and no, you're not a racist)

Is that a face only Mother Earth can love?
Tyler you owe me for a computer cleaning! I just spit up a mouth full off mountain dew all over the computer! Did you have to use that picture? Could have put a nice forest pic possibly? Anything better than that damn it!
It's even worse, when everytime you go to the next page, BAM! There it is again.
And the masses are so dumb they will willingly accept the idea that "The Experts" are correct and that anyone who questions the new priest class must be put to death. Same as it ever was. She is after all not alone in calling for this, or Green Fascism, short term radical population reduction.
Exactly, it doesn't matter if you're an "Expert" or not, you still can't predict the future so you're guess is as good as anyone else's.
That's where you are wrong. With the power of the media if the 'Expert' makes a wrong prediction or statement, it is treated as never existing. Look at how the media treats Zimbabwe Ben. He is on record over and over getting it wrong, and the media never points out this mans terribly inaccurate prognostications, only that he saved the world. So sure he was wrong, but in our bizzaro would the masses will never know as they are not capable of remembering past the last soundbite. And really how many people are going to go research what Zimbabwe Ben said 5 years ago, the media will do their thinking for them.
She may be nuts herself. But no matter how nuts people on both sides of the political aspect of climate science, the science remains the same.
See the latest European Space agency photos from the antarctic ice shelf. Or see the arctic photos, or even the glacier photos from around the world.
Deniers have a problem with explaining what the eye can see. The natural cycles would have us in a cooling phase, yet temps go up and up. Wonder why?
Temperatures go up and up because of chemtrails geoengineering:
http://chemtrails.foroactivo.com/
Personally, I prefer the explanations given by the last thousand or so articles here http://hockeyschtick.blogspot.com/
I like the explanation of volcanoes, both above ground and undersea, are getting more active as we reach the Galactic Plane....
But that's just me.
Got an English version?

there's one to get you started. . .
"science remains the same" ... BULLSHIT. Science is always evolving, except for the few immutable theories like gravity.
I would only trust my eyes if things were in context, meaning if my eyes saw the landscape 1,000 or 10,000 years ago then your point has validity. Otherwise you've sipped the enviro-nazi bullshit. Pity you.
Shit, we don't even have a theory of gravity.
We just have a theory of it's EFFECTS.
