How's This For Social Unrest?

In his seminal work The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, William Shirer recounts how the struggling Weimar Republic printed its way out of reparation debt from World War I. Out-of-control printing caused the German mark to fall from 75 per dollar in 1921, to more than 4 billion just 3-years later.

Talk about chaos. After a brief period of credit-fueled economic respite, the onset of the global depression in 1929 had people in the streets clamoring for change. Hitler's National Socialism promised the world... and under such economic distress, people believed him.

There are two important lessons here. First is that hyperinflation comes very quickly. Confidence languishes for months, even years... until one day the currency begins to slide, slowly at first, then exponentially.

The second is what followed. Economic disaster begets social unrest, the two are inextricably linked. Populist rebellions and roving gangs became a constant presence in the republic.

It's at this point, when people are really hurting, they're the most impressionable. They're looking for somebody, anybody, to lead them out of the turmoil. What they got was a charismatic leader with a grand plan.

Here in Cambodia, a similar story unfolded in the 1970s.

Years of constant American B-52 bombing campaigns during the Vietnam War took its toll on the country. Over 500,000 tons of bombs were dropped on Cambodia during the war.  By the time the last US forces withdrew from Vietnam in 1975, nearly three-quarters of Cambodia's agrarian economy was destroyed.

Malnourishment and starvation were rampant, and Cambodians were ready to follow anyone with a plan.

Pol Pot's agrarian socialism struck a chord. After years of civil war, Cambodia's economic ruin opened the door for his communist forces to take over the country.

Just like Germany in 1930, economic hardship swayed just enough people to allow a criminal madman's rise to power. Neither case required a popular majority, but merely a critical mass of vocal activists. The rest of the country either fell in line or was exterminated.

Under both regimes, people never got what they expected. Pol Pot waged mass genocide on his own people, murdering as much as a third of Cambodia's population. Teachers, doctors, students, artists... anyone who could possibly pose a threat was neutralized.

I've had the opportunity to learn first hand about many of these cases during my times here. And not far from Phnom Penh, the infamous killing fields are still littered with human remains.

History is full of examples of governments taking draconian action in times of economic-fueled social turmoil. Faced with terrible circumstances, people cry out for their governments to 'do something'. Politicians happily oblige.

It's concerning right now to see the early stages of economic decline spawning populist uprisings; most are being met with unconscionable force by the police state.

Mark Twain used to say that while history may not repeat itself, it certainly rhymes. I'd encourage you to think clearly about what's really happening in the world, and not simply write off such events as temporary aberrations.

Let me be even more clear: it's not crazy to have a plan. You're not a lunatic for considering your international options. In a world fraught with so much uncertainty, it's the only sane choice.

Hey shit head.   Your Sesame Streeters are raping, stealing, taking dumps in public, using drugs in public, having sex in public, demanding that the government take MORE property from fellow citizens as a sign of ultimate GREED while threatening the press, and you attack the Tea party.  The Sesame Streeters are being FUNDED by leftist organizations, promoted by the leftist press, ENDORSED by the DNC and supported by the Nazi and socialist parties.   The Tea Party has to fight BOTH political parties AND doesn't engage in your feral rabid pack animal behavior.

When all else fails, read the instructions.  But does anyone really think that people will actually follow instructions?  People are going to do whatever they want to do regardless of what is written on a piece of paper (U.S. Constitution).  If we had simply followed and stuck to the instructions we wouldn't be in this mess. Gold & Silver would be our currency and the Fed would not exist, just 2 examples of 100's.  The Constitution is a great set of instructions but the thing is nobody cares about them anymore.  Game over.

The outcome is inevitable. Social unrest turns to violence...violence met with police state...System slows to a snails pace causing food shortages..hungry people become deadly violent...These people are labeld and put into groups by police state and summarily killed for our protection. Just depends on which group you are labled under. I've seen first hand what happens when people have small amounts food and water, and it is super ugly.

The collapse may be imminent. According to Biden, today: "“Murder will continue to rise, rape will continue to rise, all crimes will continue to rise,” if the Democrats agenda isn’t passed, he added."  At least now we know what we have to do to keep crime low.

Great post Mr. Black. I have to agree that we should start looking internationally. It's worrisome to hear anti-immigrant rehtoric along with a possible class warfare errupting. Living in So. Cal and being a Mexican-American, I can tell you that on every major highway there are already checkpoints in which you have to declare your citizenship depeding on your skin color. This is very painful, humilating experience that one must go through in their home state of birth. The scape goat is in the sights of many hate filled people and all USA needs is a savy political leader and the rest is history.

The problem with this shit, Simon Black, that he has no clue. Where is hyperinflation in US? I see only deflation. The only times when inflation shows its ugly head is when Bernanke prints money. Remove Bernanke. Defeat Marxist Obama during election and there will be no inflation. The big question though is how to correctly deal with deflation and related issues: meager economic growth, high unemployment, income gap.

And shits like SB? Just trying to sell his garbage...

We are at 10% inflation now, not the bogus 2% BS .gub data ,add the below and just like a SNAP, you can get your if not Hyper Inflation, damned high inflation...............................where does the rate have to be before Hyper takes off?,15-20%............

I do not know where are you getting these numbers. Surely, things like gas or food go up from time to time. Not due to demand though but due to money printing of Bernanke (and there is an undeniable correlation here). Whenever he pauses, the prices of all commodities, including Gold go down or at least stabilize. With this level of unemployment, falling wages and lack of economic growth, there is no room for inflation in US  unless it is artificially produced by Fed.

This is the Hollywood version of history.  What they don't tell you is what really happened between 1933 and 1939 in Germany, how Germany came out of GD1, first among all the nations that were in the depths of GD1, without oil, gold, and money.

Here's a start.

...The critical point is that the German industrialists financing Hitler were predominantly directors of cartels with American associations, ownership, participation, or some form of subsidiary connection. The Hitler backers were not, by and large, firms of purely German origin, or representative of German family business. Except for Thyssen and Kirdoff, in most cases they were the German multi-national firms —i.e., I.G. Farben, A.E.G., DAPAG, etc. These multi-nationals had been built up by American loans in the 1920s, and in the early 1930s had American directors and heavy American financial participation.

Not true.  The door is still wide open to both residency and citizenship here - for now.

It is much easier to obtain both than with the Swiss.  The entire process took us about 7 months and around $2k USD in total.  It is not exclusive to the rich either.  We are just average middle-class people and we had no difficulties doing it.  I know of people with less than $5k to their name and successfully immigrating.

1935:

The battle cry of the New World Order, complete with whips and gas chambers, is sounded, not by designated villain-of-record Adolf Hitler, but by.....the Rockefellers.

Man the Unknown by Dr. Alexis Carrel of the Rockefeller Institute in New York is published. The Nobel Prize-winner lays out very clearly the methods to be followed by the New World Order.

"Enormous sums are now required to maintain prisons and insane asylums," writes Carrel. "Why do we preserve these useless and harmful beings? This fact must be squarely faced. Why should society not dispose of the criminals and the insane in a more economical manner?...The community must be protected against troublesome and dangerous elements....Perhaps prisons should be abolished...The conditioning of the petty criminal with the whip, or some more scientific procedure, followed by a short stay in hospital, would probably suffice to insure (sic) order. (Criminals, including those) who have...misled the public on important matters, should be humanely and economically disposed of in small euthanasic institutions supplied with proper gases. A similar treatment could be advantageously applied to the insane, guilty of criminal acts.''

Presumably this disposal "with proper gases" of persons who have "misled the public on important matters" would not apply to people who are named Bush, Walker, Harriman, Rockefeller or Dulles. Who would run the country?

John Foster Dulles who, through the robber barons' favorite law firm, Sullivan and Cromwell, is orchestrating arms and finance for Adolf Hitler and the Nazis for their takeover of Germany and ultimately all of Europe, is the author of a major article in the Atlantic Monthly entitled "The Road to Peace."

Dulles explains away Germany’s secret rearmament, which he has had a key role in arranging, as an action to "take back their freedom". Dulles assures Americans that the Nazis and the Italian Fascists are interested only in peace. Would John Foster Dulles lie?

The Nazi Schroeder Bank in New York merges with the Rockefeller interests to form Schroeder, Rockefeller & Company, Inc. Carlton P. Fuller of Schroeder Banking Corporation is made president and Avery Rockefeller, nephew of John D. Rockefeller, owns 42% and is made vice president.

Baron Bruno von Schroeder and his cousin, Kurt von Schroeder of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and the Gestapo, own 47 percent. Nazi shyster Allen Dulles serves on the board of the Schroeder Bank. Nazi shyster John Foster Dulles is the bank's legal counsel. The German parent bank acts as the financial arm of the Nazi Party and will, in the next few years, siphon large sums of money from the U.S. to Nazi Germany.

Prescott Bush, grandfather of George "I'm A Lyin' Guy" Bush, hires Nazi shyster and financier Allen Dulles to create a massive legal smokescreen behind which to conceal his dealings on behalf of the Thyssen steel interests, major backers and financiers of Adolf Hitler.

George W. Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, is the Managing Director of the notorious investment bank, Brown Brothers, Harriman, from the 1920s through the 1940s and, like his father Samuel Bush, becomes a devoted lifelong minion of the Harrimans, one of the leading families in the U.S. ruling class. In league with Averell W. Harriman and his younger brother, E. Roland Harriman, Bush serves as front man for and facilitates investment in and for a score of Nazi businesses.

Bush, the Harrimans, the Rockefeller family, Standard Oil, the Duponts, the Morgans and the Fords provide funding for the Hitler Project, financing Adolf Hitler's rise to power and the takeover of Germany starting in 1923. This includes direct funding of the SS (Schutzstaffel or Black Shirts) and the SA (Sturmabteilung, storm troops or Brown Shirts).

The "approved" version of Hitler's rise to power has the German people, economically devastated by the First World War and the destructive terms of the Treaty of Versailles (written by the Dulles brothers, the Morgans and the Warburgs among others) embracing Hitler as their savior.

In fact, it took some 300,000 SS and SA thugs, armed and financed by the Rockefellers, Fords, Bushes, Harrimans, Duponts et al to terrorize the German people into submission to the Nazis.

These same thugs assassinated more than four hundred German politicians who had the courage to oppose Nazism.

The cash supplied by the American ruling class to the SS and SA is channeled through a variety of German companies by International Telephone and Telegraph (IT&T).

Virtually all of the weapons used by the SS and SA to terrorize the German people, primarily Thomson submachine guns and pistols, are supplied by the Rockefellers' Remington Arms and carried to Germany by the Harriman-controlled Hamburg-Amerika line fronted by George W. Bush's great grandfather, Herbert W. Walker.

The Rockefellers’ Chase Manhattan Bank serves as a major source of finance for the Nazis and, as the Nazis send Jews, Gypsies, socialists and other “sub-humans” to the gas chambers in accordance with the eugenics agenda promulgated by the American ruling class, closes the accounts of its Jewish customers.

Chase will continue to serve as banker for the Nazis even after Germany declares war on the U.S.

Joseph Kennedy, multi-millionaire bootlegger, Mafia associate, stock market swindler and founder of the Kennedy political dynasty, is a major contributor of capital to the Nazis via Prescott Bush.

Kennedy is a vocal anti-Semite and pro-Nazi who later becomes U.S. Ambassador to Britain. His pro-Nazi statements do much to mold U.S. public opinion.

Last time U.S. had a severe economic depression they got Roosevelt and the New Deal, and if the U.S. economy nosedives that's what some people will talk about.

But Germany had a Depression (with runaway inflation) too, and they got Adolf Hitler.

Who can say that this time around the U.S. gets Hitler. Might even be a woman.

Anybody who say that's not possible because so much has changed since 1933 is confusing technology with evolution.

And I would bet the average German in 1933 was way better educated than the average American today.

And on top of that, those at the top have taken Propaganda far beyond anything Goebbels could have ever dreamed of.

My guess is the part of the Jews will be played by the Muslims.

The author stops short, don’t know why, he should just bring the whole treatise to is natural conclusion, I will and for the sake of brevity here it is;

War, its the biggest and best reset button of them all, we are in 1935-36-ish.  *shrugs*

Parting shot- Old German saying circa 1941; “ enjoy the war,  peace is going to be hell”;)

Good ole international Simon. This isn't Europe, Eurasia or any other historical surf scenario you can think of. We are armed, pissed off and offer no quarter. Grow food and arm yourself is my advice, other than that stand your ground and hold the line. THIS IS AMERICA!!!

Yes this is America, chock with a significant number of still hopium addicted, indoctrinated and entitlement sheeple that lost or never had the capacity to think for themselves. Couple that with the arguably successful dividing of this nation on a number of different levels, prediction on what path this all might take is next to impossible. Besides that, there still are some tried and true plays available. We haven't had a good contagion scare in awhile, nor a good all out effort against some bogeyman that they tell us wants to kill us. Then to top it all off we have an upcoming election year of a POTUS whose numbers are hovering near the toilet level.Time to keep ear to the ground during the day and sleep with one eye open at night.

As for preppin' and having a plan, probably not a bad idea in light of all that's going on. Besides, isn't lead the other precious metal?...
