Guest Post: President Choomwagon
Submitted by John Aziz of Azizonomics
President Choomwagon
President Obama’s teenage gang called themselves the Choom Gang, choom being their slang word for marijuana. They developed a marijuana-oriented culture:
As a member of the Choom Gang, Barry Obama was known for starting a few pot-smoking trends. The first was called “TA,” short for “total absorption.” To place this in the physical and political context of another young man who would grow up to be president, TA was the antithesis of Bill Clinton’s claim that as a Rhodes scholar at Oxford he smoked dope but never inhaled.
Along with TA, Barry popularized the concept of “roof hits”: when they were chooming in the car all the windows had to be rolled up so no smoke blew out and went to waste; when the pot was gone, they tilted their heads back and sucked in the last bit of smoke from the ceiling.
When you were with Barry and his pals, if you exhaled precious pakalolo (Hawaiian slang for marijuana, meaning “numbing tobacco”) instead of absorbing it fully into your lungs, you were assessed a penalty and your turn was skipped the next time the joint came around.
They even called their Mystery-Machine-style VW van the Choomwagon:
I don’t have a problem with Obama — or anyone else — smoking dope. As far as I am concerned, consenting adults have the liberty to do whatever they like so long as they don’t hurt others, or take their liberty or property.
I don’t have a problem with Obama — or anyone else — defining themselves by smoking dope.
I have a problem with hypocrisy.
Not only did Obama use marijuana in his youth, he also used cocaine, and reportedly crack. Today around 400,000 Americans are jailed for non-violent drug related offenses. That’s 400,000 outside of the workforce who could be out working and producing, instead of burdening the taxpayer, who pays to create profits for well-connected corporations in the prison-industrial complex.
Put more simply, there are more black people in prison as a result of the drug war today than there were slaves in 1850.
What’s President Obama — as a black man and a drug user — doing about that? There are still thousands of people being arrested for nonviolent drug offenses who are facing life in prison.
President Obama’s signature policy in this area has been the Fair Sentencing Act which reduced the previous 100:1 sentencing discrepancy between crack (predominantly used by blacks) and powder cocaine to 18:1, as well as eliminating the five-year mandatory minimum sentence for simple possession of crack cocaine. So now the courts will be 18 times tougher on urban blacks using crack than they are on Wall Street traders (etc) using powder cocaine? Am I supposed to think that that is better?
No. He is willing to keep jailing nonviolent citizens who did nothing more than ingest or possess a narcotic, and deny them their liberty. He is willing to enforce racist laws and policies that lock up and criminalise a disproportionately high number of minorities, at a huge cost to the taxpayer. He is willing to deny medical marijuana patients the medicine their doctors have prescribed. He is willing to maintain the drug laws and the drug war, that (lest we forget) are the thing that are empowering and enriching the Mexican drug smuggling cartels and urban criminal gangs, and creating huge violence and thousands of deaths throughout Latin America.
As Milton Friedman wrote:
If you look at the drug war from a purely economic point of view, the role of the government is to protect the drug cartel. That’s literally true.
There is no logical basis for the prohibition of marijuana. Our failure to successfully enforce these laws is responsible for the deaths of thousands of people in Colombia. I haven’t even included the harm to young people. It’s absolutely disgraceful to think of picking up a 22-year-old for smoking pot. More disgraceful is the denial of marijuana for medical purposes.
But the thing that tears me up most is the rank hypocrisy. President Obama is a hypocrite who won’t even fight to legalise nonviolent behaviour that he himself proudly and overtly practised. If only he hadn’t been so lucky; those unjust drug laws that he won’t fight to repeal would likely have prevented him from ever being President, and he might instead be on probation working at Footlocker.
A President with integrity or compassion would fight tooth and nail to end this. Ron Paul — who has never used illegal recreational drugs — has vowed that as President he will pardon nonviolent drug offenders, give them back their liberty, and the right to keep the fruits of their labour, and save taxpayers a $15 billion-per-year bundle of cash by ending the waste and destruction of the war on drugs. Drug abuse should be treated as a social-medical problem. The war on drugs is an economic drain and a threat to our liberty.

Though beautifully done, just another convenient opportunity to promote Neoliberal Messiah Ron Paul in the name of Liberty, it appears to me.
But Barry does suck, so I'm just gonna roll me a fatty.
Try again.
The liberal scumbags who are anything but liberal in the personal liberties dept, block gambling to support the state lottos or the things robbing their consitutuents blind.
The war on poverty is one huge hypocritical 3trillion dollar black hole.
Free speech except if you hate someone, then all of a sudden it isn't so free anymore.
They have not stemmed any egregious thing regarding spying on US citizens, airport checks or the entire ramp up in personal surveillance by the government on it's own people.
JFC I could go on for three days here and what do you have? Some guy tapping his foot in a restroom somewhere.
What a fucking joke,
this guy garnered support over the idea of extending personal liberty and instead not only is it more of the same in some regards it is worse than ever.
Excellent. Have a green. Now, who are you, and how did you steal the ID of one of our jackbooted trolls? Or is it still not fascism when the neocons do it because they love us and America so much?
There is WAY too much money to be made busting pot smokers and home growers. Not only do you go to jail the "law" can take your car, your money and your property.
I live twenty five miles outside the nearest small community and the police force has armored vehicles and a swat team. In my little neighborhood of a gas station and Post Office the biggest crime in the last ten years was a streaker which turned out to be a deputy, and I'm dyin' if I'm lyin'. God Bless America
If it was the economics pot would be legal tomorrow (and the tobacco industry would run it). It's the "gateway drug" argument, association with guns, "social value" theme, voter backlash against any effort by Congress to change the law, and most of all - tobacco, alcohol and pharma industry pressure. The cost of ONE investigation/raid/trial/incarceration/appeal process costs more than almost any seized asset. Run some numbers. Or just google it. Ironic that this was the first search result: http://www.dailypaul.com/156103/the-cost-of-marijuana-prohibition-the-case-of-jame-p-fowler
It also gives some people unpatriotic ideas about peace and love, the absurdity of the hamster wheel, and the evils of running on a hamster wheel which powers an evil system. Unfortunately, true sociopaths are immune to psychedelic enlightenment. See Charles Manson, the Aztec priesthood, the CIA, and Barack Obama.
Reefer madness got started with an unholy alliance between Hearst, who had just bought huge tracts of forest to turn into newspapers and didn't want a new hemp fiber process to render it a bad investment, DuPont, who wanted to clothe everyone with polyester, and a racist cop named Aslinger, who wanted yet another excuse to lock up black people. They won with a combined push of sensationalized crime, yellow journalism, and lobbying. The Demon Weed was born. It's a textbook case of oligarchy in action.
Booze is legal because it helps people not think about the hamster wheel and why it sucks. It also ruins families. The Illuminati are happy on both accounts.
War on drugs is a protect our legal monopoly on prescription drugs. Much bigger market ! Drug companies provide money to Obama campaign.
Yep, and don't forget the alcohol industry. Neither wants to compete with a plant that people can grow by themselves for free...
Correct....the ,gov has no problem with any kind of drugs as long as the vig is paid.
and now you know why they call it dope. Que up the teleprompter.
This story is part of a confirmation that the United States govrnment through its intelligence agencies uses billins of dollars in drug profits to finance the world operations that influence foreign countries.Overthrowing, bribery, sex traps, secret military spending etc.,it all bi-passes the general accounting office.Other stories related to this are on GlobalResearch.ca and connections to other books written by former DEA and CIA agents. One book I like is called "Powderburns" and is about how the CIA even helped sell drugs to U.S. Marines and Army veterans in Vietnam. Many New York banks have also been proven in taking part in laundering money for the U.S. government. There's just too much eveidence to ignore.
You're wrong about that FootLocker thing; no fucking way FootLocker hires anybody with Chalky's resume. The only thing he knows is bullshit and minority privelege. Pampered and cuddled his entire life, work is something for the little people; soaring "choom" intellects like his are for making rules for everybody else while he ignores them. He's special don't-cha-know.

What I have found especially interesting is that you can get Social Security Disability because of Drug or Alcohol Addiction or the health effects from use by the Government. Yet, if caught using Alcohol while driving or Drugs is an Offence by the Government with the punishment of Jail.
The Government Condones Drugs on one hand with benifits and then punishes the same behavior on the other hand. This is a contradiction of Law.
Yet, if caught using Alcohol while driving or Drugs is an Offence by the Government with the punishment of Jail.
You don't view this as putting others' life/liberty at risk?
Respectfully, driving drunk is...sipping a beer going home after work is not.
In Fla it's a $500.00 fine for an open container...and everyone wonders why empties are strewn all over the highways...it's a $500.00 to be caught with one open.
Zero tolerance has unintended consequences.
mayhem_korner,
I should have said driving after consuming Alcohol. Although, I do remember when it was not against the law to literally Drink Alcohol while Driving and the Blood Alcohol level to be considered Intoxicated was 2.0. Now the Blood Alcohol level for DWI is .08 and they have the open container law.
It also used to be that you could not be Arrested for a Crime unless you "actually" harmed someone. Now with the Law for DWI makes the assumption that you will harm someone because you are intoxicated. Do not forget that they now arrest people while riding a bicycle while Intoxicated. Or in some cases even being Intoxicated in a public place. I am not sure how that is a danger to anyone. The pendulum always swings too far in the other direction.
You hit a nerve there, my sister and I went dancing Halloween of 2002 around 11 P.M. and we walked downtown rather than drive because we knew we would have a few drinks. At 2 A.M. closing time we called a cab and went out to wait for it, got arrested leaving the bar for public intoxication, cops on the sidewalk waiting for patrons to leave, I had only had three beers. Fortunately, after mugs shots and fingerprinting and about 4 hours in the disgusting "drunk tank" in county jail they lost the paperwork and I never heard another thing about it. No ticket, no summonses or warrants, no record of it, and I doubt I was even over the legal limit for driving, and other than for operating a motor vehicle I am unaware that there is even a level of intoxication set for simply walking around. It would seem to be up to the judgement of the cop at that moment whether or not you are intoxicated.
I agree with you. The thing is that when the reduced the Blood Alcohol level to .08 which would make almost anyone that just had a few drinks have a Blood Alcohol level that was Arrestable.
It is a well known fact that where I live that the Police wait in neighboring parking lots waiting for people comming out of Bars. Then they follow them to drum up a charge why they pulled them over and arrest them for DWI.
But as you said. If you so much as walk out of the Bar to get into a Cab you can be arrested. So, how is standing on the Sidewalk Intoxicated going to hurt anyone. Except of course yourself if you fall on the sidewalk and crack your head open.
I've heard that some cops pull into the parking lots near bars and chalk the tires every hour or two, then sit back and pull over the cars with the most chalk lines on them.
Not sure if that's true or not, but sounds like something a lazy cop would do since the person driving could be a DD, vs. actually witnessing drunk driving behavior (failure to signal, crossing lines, etc.)
Two words: Revenue enhancement.
Said thing is those damn numbers really mean nothing. We'd get middle eastern men in the ER appearing drunk and vomiting and their BAs showed they weren't even legally drunk. I've drawn people who I'd know had been drinking ( I was getting drunk off their breath) but they could walk a straight line and carry a coherent conversation and they'd have a BA of .40. (yeah I thought that was lethal too but those hard core alcoholics can get that high). There really isn't any correlation between symptoms and BA values, it's a revenue stream for the State and nothing more.
Miffed:-)
Let us not forget that there was a time when Alcohol was illegal to drink all together. That created the Mafia and Elliot Ness. It was a huge profit machine for the people that profited from Alcohol being illegal.
Today is no different with Drugs. I have never taken any Drugs except by prescription (even with that is rare), but I do think they should be legal so that Criminals do not make a profit from addicting our young children. If they were legal there would not be a profit motive for the Criminals.
duplicate.
can you still drink while riding your significant other?
how about I drink while you ride your SO.
And God forbid public employees get drug tested like private employees for something they do off the clock. Or not have to produce positive ID to vote but have to produce positive ID for a bottle of Scotch.
Yes, blinding contradictions and hypocrisy at every turn...brought to you by our best & brightest.
nmewn,
Really good points.
What the SNL Copy Machine Guy (Rich Schneider) might say:
The Choomster! The Choominator.. The Token Joker Toker... The Choomer-in-Chief... The Munchie Monster!
Oops! Play Hail-to-the-Reefer -- the Choomster is in the building!
What is 74 inches tall, black and white with red eyes, and smokes dope? -- a Choombama!
What smokes dope and has two middle fingers that always point up? -- A Choom-U!
The "war" on drugs is an 'effin industry, providing employmentr to hundrerds of thousands, and spending many billions every year.
How you gonna get rid of that?
Federal DEA raids on medical marijuana clinics has increased under President Obama. Of course, what candidate Obama said was something totally different.
It is well documented at reason.com
http://reason.com/search?cx=000107342346889757597%3Ascm_knrboh8&cof=FORI...
All presidents have their "wars": Johnson (poverty), Nixon (literacy), Clinton (drugs), Bush (terrorism) and now Obama who seems to regard business as the enemy. I swear, if he had set out to harm the nation and economy he could not have chosen a better path. The uncertainty will tank the market again and again.
I have nothing good to say about Obama . . . including what he's done for "the market." Have you been watching a "market" that I don't know about?
yeah like the way he nationalized the banks and confiscated their assets when the were all broke. OOPS maybe that was a different president. Where do you get your news? There is no potus just a Bank employee. A puppet of the organized crime syndicate known as Don Rothschild Banking. He takes his orders from the rulers of the country the Federal Reserve Banking monopoly system.
Clinton: I did not have sex with that woman! But I did inhale the cigar smoke.
Obama: hey can that saxophone be used as a bong?
Personally, I've long believed the real concept behind criminalizing pervasive behaviors is to provide an excuse for persecuting some selected outgroup.
Marijuana use itself was often targeted in the early 20th century not so much because of the DRUG, but because of the CONSUMERS. Chinese immigrants who smoked various drugs and blacks were the kind of people respectable citizens might occasionally want run out of town.
I grew up in a small "hip" town--mostly "white," fairly affluent, etc. Everyone knew that there was plenty of pot around, and it was rare for people to get busted for it unless it was coupled with some other offense. But for sure, if a gang of outsiders had called attention to themselves in some way, a bust for such an offense would've been easy enough to arrange.
Hypocrisy...
like right-wing republicans preaching against gays whilst exchanging pornographic messages with male interns, or seeking gay sex in airport bathrooms?
Agreed, the "war on drugs" is a government racket. But dont forget who was the real push behind it: Ronald and Nanacy Reagan, then co-opted and 'entrenched' by Bush I (for other secret reasons I am sure). Then left to metasticise by Clinton and Bush II.
Cant really expect Obama to unwind all of this in three years now can we?
Nevermind all of the powerful government morons, that make their career off the war on drugs, that he would piss off.
It all should be legalized.
Many other forms of hypocrisy we can discuss as well, like the plank in the GOP platform against abortion, so let's see a list of every republican that ever had or paid for the products of his/her conception aborted. Or the widespread right wing claim that sexual activity should be between one legally married man and his wife for the purposes of procreation of a "family." Of course they fucked like mink, got abortions, smoked weed, drank like fish, dropped acid, cheated in school when they were young, and currently could not live with out alcohol and pain killers but now "know better" or "found Jesus," and are determined to force their views of right and wrong on the rest of us.
Your politicians and government are a reflection of you and your peers. I suspect it is WAY too easy to find hypocrisy in others while not being able to detect a hint of it in yourselves.
Another moron Obama voter post. The GOp sucks but Obama signs executive orders f***king daily taking away rights. How many wars did Obama start today? Save me they are all teh same sh*t as well. Stupid f**ks posting here who voted for him trying to rationalize their shit. McCain sucked and was a RINO elites but the alternative was worse.
Name the Ron or Rand Paul of the Dem Party?
Fuck you douchebag. You live your life your way and I will my life my way, and if you had any integrity (you don't) that would be just what you would say because that is what the word LIBERTY means. I replied to an e-mail this morning that a friend had forwarded with a detailed smear about how Obama came to have so much wealth on a crappy community activist job, among other concerns the original author has about the guy, my reply...
Hi Fred, my virus protection would not permit me to open that mail and reply, so I am doing it in a separate mail. I have always held the opinion that if Obama met the criteria set forth in the constitution regarding the natural born citizenship requirement to serve as president he should/must simply provide such proof and move on, put the issue to rest. The fact that he cannot or will not makes him ineligible to be president as far as I am concerned.
As to the possibility that his money was ill gotten, I do not make decisions as important as who I wish to vote for based upon the smear campaigns by partisan people who like to remain hidden behind e-mail monikers, especially when I know at least some of them are attempting to discredit the man because they are flat out racists. If they wish to come forward publically with evidence of real wrongdoing then I will listen and make up my mind after hearing their evidence, till then I consider all such mails to be libelous dirty tricks, i.e. more political bullshit.
And here is the bottom line for me, I consider it my duty as a citizen to vote, not just vote but to vote for the best candidate proffered on the ballot, not to vote is immoral when the nation and the world is in such precarious shape, and voting for someone that has no chance of winning in the general election as a protest like writing in the name of Ron Paul is morally the same as not voting at all.
I am obligated to vote and that vote has to have at least some chance of making a difference. I will judge which candidate will be the best, or at least the lesser of two evils, using my life experience and judgment about character. I know Obama might have gotten wealthy through means you and I would not undertake because they were not strictly legal, or ethical, but if the only other person in the race come November is Romney then I have to say that I consider Obama's wealth to be unethical in light of what your e-mail charges, but I consider Romney's wealth downright evil though he might have been in compliance with all laws in getting it.
I also believe in my heart of hearts that Romney is a shill groomed for power by the Mormon cult and represents the one tenth of one percent with zero internal morality of his own. No part of me or my conscience believes that Romney has your or my good in mind in his grab for power, if we or the nation should reap any benefit from his being president it would only be by coincidence, collateral benefit if you will. The story of his gay bashing episode in school shows what a perfectly vile human being he is and do not attempt to convince me otherwise because he too young or a product of that era to know better. Hundreds of millions of people in western culture get all the way through college without ever assaulting someone because they might or might not be gay. I hope the person so treated by Romney if they are still alive will sue the dog snot out of that spoiled hypocrite for the assault in question because remember there is no statute of limitations on civil liability.
In short, nothing - NOTHING - could possibly motivate me to cast a vote for Romney. His pandering seems to the far right would be enough to make that decision, if his new found ideals regarding marriage (one man one woman) had always been the law and enforced he would not even be here, his great grandfather was a polygamist. His grandfather was born on a polygamist commune in Mexico. He rages at gays now though his state was the first to have gay marriage. He rages about Obamacare though his state had the SAME laws and mandatory participation at state level when he was governor. He will say and do anything to get elected and should that happen I plan to vacate the country.
I do not much like Obama and did not vote for him in 2008, but if Romney is my only other choice I will not only vote for Obama but donate cash to his campaign.
Be real.
First he said he would stop the federal persecution of the legal pot dealers in the states that legalized it,
instead those attacks largely continue unabated.
I was told, this administration would lay off the persecution of internet gambling too,
oddly their confiscations are now higher than eigtht years worth of Bush confiscations.
No one expects change overnight, but an obvious change in policy going forward is preferred to more of the same.
WTF? I am being real.
Not defending Obama here.
It is stupid to expect any "real change" out of both parties here. Especially if it move towards any libertarian desires (a less intrusive smaller government).
Ron Paul is right on this one. Legalize more drugs (alcohol is already legal for the most part). Let individuals choose to fuck up their life on drugs, but leave the government out of their future treatment.
Everything is moving, it is not a static world.
They are either moving towards more liberty or less.
This guy was supposed to start moving the ship towards more,
instead the ship keeps on sailing at breakneck pace towards less.
The article is right on the money, and I cited the gambling too because the guy is a poker player who has continued the persecution of gamblers.
Point out the non-hypocrites in this election and I'll vote for them.
Not only is there a lucrative drug trade, there are lucrative side businesses of attorneys, courts, and prisons. The alcohol and pharma industies don't want pot legalized. How much are the pot legalization lobbyists spending in DC these days?
We need all three branches of government to step up and do something about the war on pot, so in other words you can forget about anything getting done.
It would make one hell of a populist platform plank were anyone smart enough to finally not toe the line.
And the inaugural with Cypress Hill would be the shit!
Maybe we should be looking for Arrest Records instead of College Transcripts of Obama. Under all of his names like Barry Santoro, etc.
Well, we should all have a problem with a brain-damaged sociopathic marxist occupying 1600 PA avenue.
What happened to you Barry? You used to be cool
It seems this level of hypocrisy is the result of massive influx of indians into USA
Their society, culture and moral values are all bullshit and they are biggest scum on earth
These scum have infiltrated and destroyed the ethics of well functioninig social organizations of many countries
Today we have a giant problem , these indian immigrants are destroying everything in USA and leaving 'US unscathed
Will ever humans wake up to massive fraud pulled off by indians?
Total Absorption Obama?
He never exhaled and is still drifting in a mass hallucinated NWO puppet show.
The Second American Revolution - coming soon to a neighborhood near you.
At times like this, I find myself turning to that Wizard of Smart, Snoop Dog, to see what he has to say.

He is a MoMo. They don't smoke dope. Space Cake perhaps, but no smokey smokey
Anybody want to bet he hasn't smoked some reef since he's been in the White House?
Ripped this off from Bill Maher. But great article though.
If Dr. Paul supported ending the malignant legal fiction that is the corporation--and the corporatocracy that has resulted--he'd win in a landslide.
I sense he isn't going to do that.
What's the real possiblity of Liberty on an impossibly uneven economic playing field?
True, at least he'd let us get high. Of course, corporations would only become more powerful.
Sorry, I'd rather enjoy my little buzz as an outlaw if that's my only alternative.
What's the real possiblity of Liberty on an impossibly uneven economic playing field?
The possibilty of making it in a world with corporations but without government is very good for those with talent, a strong work ethic and a bit of luck.
In order to outlaw corporations one would have to use the power of government and the very existence of government makes the playing field grossly uneven. It is the collusion between government and corporations that is the problem not corporations themselves. Corporations are simply a way to organize and administer the division of labor which provides mankind with excess production and eliminates the need for all men to work at a subsistence level.
Luck indeed. And connections. But, mainly, sociopathy.
Holding other factors equal, however, sociopathy is the biggest today. Look at "our" major corporations, which are front organizations run by self-dealing gangsters with a small cut going to the share holders who are, as long as the market keeps getting pumped up by said corporations, satisfied with the results. But it doesn't require genius to see why this was virtually inevitable.
One could argue that corporations per se are not the problem, just like the old saw about it being guns that kill people, but if you see a problem with the corporatocracy you can't solve it by pretending that government is the "real" problem. Take away the government and you'll still have the guys who bought them.
But why mess around with philosophy? Dr. Paul worships personal responsibility, right? Let's not expect him to eliminate the corporation per se (except the Fed, of course), though one of its primary defining characteristics is avoidance of liability. Why not pass and enforce laws imposing personal liability upon corporate criminals--the actual human beings who commit the crimes--with appropriately commensurate penalties? That would do alot for me. But somehow that goes beyond the personal responsibility philosophy. Apparently that would be evil because it requires a government to happen.
In any case, the corporation imposes a two class economic system upon this country, imo. No surprise that it goes downhill from there.
Some people consider that amenable to "liberty." Too many of them seem raptly fixated on the part of the current problem played by government.
Sociopathic assholes with giant advantages are the problem.
Exactly. And the greatest advantage any asshole can exploit is a share in the power of government. Government inevitably attracts the biggest assholes. That's why government never works in the way in which it is advertised.
The winners in a free market must display merit. Only those who can provide value can succeed. The winners in government are those who can best appropriate the wealth earned through the merits of others. While a businessman who provides you a good product at a good price can still be an asshole, a politician must inevitably be an asshole.
Government attracts the cheapest assholes. And we all know that's what it is.
Between the two of them, assholes do reign, no doubt about it. The corporate media ensures it.
Free market is just an ideal, like every thing else at its best. Like good ol' Galt.
You know we're not gonna agree, my truly respected friend. It's too bad I don't have time for a nice discussion at the level you truly deserve.
Catch me later, man. I'm wondering if Ron Paul is a bit too convenient for the Republican Party.
I remember when Barry was just a dream.
barry is and always will be completely owned can't wait to see what romney's little hidden picadillos are. something black and rubbery for sure
No wonder I haven'tvoted for 28 years, however if by some miracle RP should get a spot on the ballot I will register and cast a vote for him but I won't vote on anything else cause here in CA. the bullshit is on steroids.
SAY NO TO ILLEGAL DRUGS
(it's not what you expect)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmo9a1IVzCk&feature=g-user-u
Yeah, but Barry can order people killed. That's pretty cool.
It's an election year and Barry is merely attempting to "Channel" slick willy in a last ditch attempt to resonate with a large block of potential voters. After all Uncle Mittens ain't about to tell you that yes Billy, you can be an illegal alien, pot smoking, liar and still get to be POTUS.
I agree with your point about Obama - but have you admitted to your boss you smoke weed and take crack author?
Then YOU are the hypocrite - you want Obama to bang out his vices and lose his job while you sit hiding from your own boss?
Also - please don't quote Friedman as an expert on ANYTHING - as part of the reason these fucking clowns think they can 'fix' the crisis with some fancy money supply tinkering is because that asshole convinced them they could (when they can't - and it's clear they can't)
...now someone pass me my bong...
Drugs are the nail in the coffin for our future. If a teen is using drugs, he is not preparing for life, a life that is going to get progressively more difficult as we progress into this century.
Add drugs to the deleterious diversions that are subtracting from the competence and sanity left in this society.
Whoever focuses is going to win the future, however bleak it might be. Man up, you wusses!!!
Who cares, its all recreational drugs, Colombian import and all.
All someone needs to do is look at how many deaths by OD you get w. weed or coke and it is under 9000 in the US www.cdc.gov/HomeandRecreationalSafety/pdf/poison-issue-brief.pdf
about 10,000 people die from drunk driving: http://www.cdc.gov/MotorVehicleSafety/Impaired_Driving/impaired-drv_fact...
50,000 + from smoking http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/health_effects/to...
Make smoking illegal, the drug guys (both sides) can still fight a drug war- smuggling, etc- plus its addictive, unlike weed. So really it would be better if they did that.
Hilarious, this post is concrete proof for why it shoudn't be legal.
Dealing with a population that abuses anything it can get it's hands on.
Vicodin is the most prescribed drug in the country, even more than the cholesterol drugs.
Fuck the indians by me are now drinking hair spray.
BTW I do get a huge kick out of the no one has died from weed stuff while you smoke only god knows what they put in and on the shit to get it to grow.
If people want to kill themselves via varioius poisons and toxins,
let them! Enough of wasting money trying to convince and force them to do otherwise.
"Fuck the indians by me are now drinking hair spray."
When I lived in Utah in the 80s, the indians in the southern part of the state preferred a nice can of full bodied STERNO.
Tragic.
Nothing destroys people so completely as to provide for their every want. I contend that the government perfected this on the reservations, extended this mandate to the inner cities, and is now unleashing this on the suburbs and middle class.
HOw true. Indians in the US never wish other than being gifted with the domination of US citizens. They never wished better.
And they were provided with what they wanted. Every want when it comes to US citizenism.
Hello,
Can someone please delineate the anarchist/libertarian POV,
on all the money being spent towards smoking and alcohol related medical conditions.
Thanks in advance.
I can give this one anarchist's perspective:
Who cares?
Medical problems occur for all sorts of reasons, and money is spent on those problems.
Neither government nor neighbors have any legitimate claim to be involved.
I shouldn't have to explain it.
Medical problems occuring for all sorts of reasons and occuring as people purposely poison themselves are not the same.
the libertarianism that still does exist in this country see's those who supposedly are not infringing on other citizen's lives really swallowing up a disproportionate amount of healthare all the while there is a healthcare crisis. Granted they pay a token more in taxes, as if that covers jack. Do you know what a pack of cigarettes has to sell for to cover the increased healthcare costs? Cause that would be responsible libertarianism, wanna kill yourself? no problems-just don't have the rest of society pay for you. Of course this is the problem with liberatarianism in a nutshell, the only people that can pay for their liberty are those with money.
Funny isn't it? I got mine and I am a villain for not wanting to pay for other's homes, cars, food, drugs, children et al,
but those disproportionately sucking out healthcare of their own doing are just medical problems occuring.
Do better next time.
You're just a totalitarian type. It's common among your species.
People should be free to do what they want. If they make bad choices, it'll cost them. You have no more business telling someone they can't smoke than I have telling you you can't ride a motorcycle.
If you think about the real problem--it has nothing to do with health-care. It has to do with government transfer payments to subsidize the medical industry.
Get serious and pick the correct "problem" if you want to piss and moan.
And just since I haven't said it in awhile: fuck off you worthless troll.
Epic fail again.
Mass rationalization of how those stealing from the rest of the normal world should be able to do so.
Take that hospital bed from an otherwise clean human being to give it to someone otherwise hell bent on killing themselves and that is what the fuck goes on everyday.
Afterall it is benign.
Totalitarian? I think everything should be legal, so these people can get it over with and not have me paying for their lives either in or out of prison.
You are a fucking moron, that is your kind.
90% of one's healthcare costs occur in the last 9 months of their life which has fuckall to do government subsidization. Maybe one day, the drug addicts will get it through their thick fucking heads that regular, routine healthcare as fuckall to do with exponential rising costs. Catastrophic care does and ironically, smoking related cancer, and alcohol related liver disease is catastrophic care.
dizized economics would have done better.
Totally agree, xkwisetly Paneful. The contempory "we can all do anything we want" is really "I'll do what all I want but You'll pay for all the crummy results". Drug addicts. Check. STDs rampant. Check. LGBTs running amuck indoctrinating children because even though We All fee weird in junior high and high school, they want to get their hands on your kids psyche while they are young and vulnerable and they can plant that LGBT flag. Check. Divorces to be had when, for a moment, a day, or a month, your partner isn't "hot" enough for you? Check. Dismembered bodies all over the evening, prime time, family time television? Check. Women as perpetual sluts and whores and "anal virgins" (God, must we go there? Just heard that phrase on tv yesterday...YUCK!)? Check.
I checked the Constitution. Not a word about stealing from the healthy, the clean living, the devout, the drug free, the study and work hard, to give to the whore/drug culture.
Nothing is so much fun as watching COPS. Helps you develop your defenses. Used to pay $35 a month for independent health care, around 1987. Now? Still healthy but its $670 a month. Thanks to druggies, AIDs fornecators, and the welfare obese waddlers.
You are a fucking moron for so many reasons I am not even going to bother listing them all. But chew on these three for a while, racist, bigot, misogynist. You are so busy judging other people you totally forget to examine why you are such a big asshole.
I think everything should be legal
Seems we agree. I have no idea what your problem is.
90% of one's healthcare costs occur in the last 9 months of their life which has fuckall to do government subsidization.
The medical care for the last 9 months of people's lives in the USA is virtually ALWAYS paid for by the government. Almost everyone dies on Medicare.
So...what exactly are you talking about?
I've asked before and never gotten an answer: what's your native language?
I want to see if William Banzai will photoshop the Presidential Seal on the front of the "Choomwagon".....
I wonder what ever happened to the Choomwagon????
Hmmm, I thought this vehicle looked familiar.....

Maybe O threw in the "smoke" free of charge.
Where's the leadership? Can't Obama get his pal Chuck Choomer to draft a bill in the Senate to end the silly drug war?
Corporate prisons need to increase their profit margins - each person in jail is an income item.
No, each person in prison is a revenue-generating asset.
The rule of law is so, you know, 1890.
I've never used illegal drugs either and agree completely with Friedman and Paul on this issue. It is a disgrace.
Obama has proven himself a President devoid of either integrity or compassion. He spews empty promises. Early in his term he vowed no interference by the DEA in states with Medical Cannabis laws. Somehow he forgot all about this and sent agents to shut down dispenseries. He signed NDAA when he vowed to veto it. He has signed executive orders granting him the power to confiscate personal property and put Americans into forced labor.
His promise of "Hope and Change" has resolved to actually be "Hopeless in Chains". Don't believe any of his utterances because they are only uttered for PR purposes.
Obama is your typical US citizen president. Even if, understably, a US citizen west coast liberal is doomed to have troubles with this negro as he absorbed perfectly the US citizen east coast codes.
US citizens are duplicitous. Which forces a different perspective on hypocrisy as hypocrisy characterizes a deviation from a normalized behaviour.
So Obama is your typical US citizen who has to govern your typical US citizens. This is where the stuff gets its turn.
Who is the hypocrite? A president who by US citizenism structures is supposed to be a servant to the public in the context of the exercize of limited power or the public (part of) that demands that the exercize of power reflects not the popular will of the public but the lifestyle and convictions of the president?
It is funny to read US citizens ask their typical US citizen president to renegade on US citizenism political ideology, to claim that the president is the hypocrite.
That is the kind of situations you get when duplicitous people are involved.
War on drugs is the reflection of the popular will in the US.
Locking up negroes is part of the US citizen tradition. Been done from the very first day when US citizens were patrolling the plantations to avoid slaves from breaking free instead of fighting the Kings troops.
So who is the hypocrite? Hard to say with duplicitous people as US citizens are.
Sorry to disagree but there is nothing fun/funny about smoking pot. For those of you who think you are so cool because after all, isn't it always so cool to snort at those who believe pot smoking should remain illegal, as well as the other so-called easy peazy drugs, to you I say which human life destroyed by drugs do you not wish to save? "POT", as it is called, is no longer the soft smoke of the 1960s but a high-powered torpedo of a drug that IMMEDIATELY fries the brain into an altered state. Compare a glass of wine...or two...if you will. A glass or two of wine which is sipped over an hour or two hardly has the same effect. Too, read the studies and see that marijuana stays in the system. Where are the studies of Accumulating in the System marijuana does? Currently the rule for pilots is "eight hours from bottle to throttle". Obviously that doesn't include an absolute and complete trashing drinking expedition. So what would you say for Pilots? Would you continue the eight hour from bottle to throttle? Make it twenty-four hours? If so you'd be wrong. The "sticky" of marijuana makes for a tough drug to get out of the system. AND, very importantly, pot changes the personality dramatically. I have a good friend, nice guy, who changes personalities dramatically when smoking pot. Goes from a real nice guy, to a real jerk: aggressive, hostile, nasty.
My local news just a week ago said that according to their studies, one in ten high school students was smoking pot at least 20 times a month. Perpetually stoned, is this what you wish for our children? Sure, it's funny to pretend it's all just a joke...ah, Pot, we're just all getting stoned and it doesn't hurt anyone does it? Well maybe it does. Pot supports the meth culture and the burgeoning heroin culture (we are seeing heroin make deep inroads to the youth of California, which seems to be the fons et origo of all our social problems.).
Pot is the great highway to a pot-head nation. Thanks but I'll take my (pick one or more) surgeon, airline pilot, police officer, firefighter, any and all behind the wheel of a car, Pot Free. I for one don't think it's just about ones personal choice, as everything is being positioned contemporarily. We are a nation connected to each other. What you do does affect me, and therefore we have free reign until you hit my toes. Which one of you wishes your children to be a pot head? Sixty minutes had a great segment on how destructive to the brain marijuana smoking is. Before you support "legalization" you should watch it. Funny isn't it, we have a country in a mess and yet we make no correlation between the fundamental principles of thrift, morality, principles, and citizenship that were our foundations. It ISN"T about your rights...you are a part of a culture and a country...your rights have to continue to support us all, or you can go to the land of relativism, but I hear there ain't much to eat there.
You have a great future in the church.
If kids are smoking pot 20 times a month that is the responsibility of their PARENTS not me or the government.
By the way, if I were a teenager and saw how fucked up and hypocrtical people like you are I would stay stoned too.
You are taking a position that is relying on extremes and jumping to conclusions- HS kids this, my sample size (friend) of one goes nuts....
3 things:
1. you mentioned wine - alcohol is way more abused that pot. fact.anything can be abused.
2. maybe suggest to your friend that he is borderline diabetic- pot lowers blood sugar, low blood sugar sometime makes people violent- just Google diabetes and low blood sugar side effects (had a boss like this, not the weed but the sugar, anytime I wanted to talk I would bring him a candy bar, shit got done without a fight)
3. 2-3 drags on a joint if you are a once a month or maybe once a week (Friday) toke is like a couple of drinks without the hangover/calories.
Personally I like moderation and a drag or two once a week or a couple times a month- big deal I enjoy the mental relaxation thinking in new ways and sometimes writing when I inhale- again just responsible moderate use.
(what idiot over 25 drinks and drives anyway- jail, criminal record, just take a 10 buck cab ride or make your girl drive)
There are countries where they execute pot-smokers. Maybe you'd be happier in one of them. Here in the USA, it's not considered that serious a thing. I prefer it here.

Heh, I haven't heard it called that since 1977.
Yeah, well, that's kind of the idea. As far as weed being stronger than it was 40 years ago, that means you don't have to smoke as much to get nice and toasty. That should be considered progress, because long gone are the days of spending your one dollar of lunch money on a couple of jays.
Although it takes some time for all traces of it to be metabolized and expelled from the system, you don't stay baked that whole time. Eight hours after the last bong hit should be plenty.
Perhaps that's what happens from your point of view. My guess is that you're just an annoying person. Your friend sparks up a doobie when you come over, and that helps him to tolerate you for a little while. However, he can probably only take so much of your sanctimonious moralizing about "the killer weed" before he gets pissed off and tells you to get the fuck out.
Applying US citizenism on a personal level, you can't admit that you're annoying, so you externalize the blame for your friend's anger by projecting it onto his doobie smoking.
Ah, ah, this assholiness is just a part of the eternal nature of the application on a personal level of US citizenism.
Yes, sure, your local news conducts rigorous scientific studies. Made me laugh.
If it helps them to endure the mind-numbing drudgery of public high school education, why not? That's how I did it.
The laws and penalties against it sure do hurt people. In the late 1970s if you got pulled over by a cop and he noticed the red eyes and smell of burning rope, he'd make you dump out your bag on the side of the road and then tell you to go home. Nowadays if they just find a single seed they're ready to whisk you off to Guantanamo.
You do understand that Reefer Madness was just a hilarious drug scare film, don't you? I mean, this whole "pot leads to heroin addiction" is the same crap they tried to scare people with in the 1960s and 1970s, and which was deservedly ridiculed and laughed at.
Well then why don't you keep your toes off of my property instead of nosing around to see if I might be burning a doob.
Better a pot head than a sanctimonious, meddlesome, self-righteous do-gooder.
You mean like life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? People like you are afraid of liberty and can't stand to see anyone being happy.
No, it's about do-gooders like you trying to take away everyone's rights, to which I say, "please kindly fuck off."
What manner of kookery is this? It sounds like you've already taken a trip to the magic kingdom.
Lighten up, pal. Don't fear the reefer.
The US is one never ending lie.
It didn't used to be that way, insert corporate governance and a pussy population of cowards and VIOLA! Division and bonuses!
No one will see it coming -- no one.
C'mon ZH, quit being morons.
Legalizing pot would end the "gateway" that law enforcement has in to bigger circles of "criminal activity" by restricting their access to "available crimes" to exercise discretion.
It's a gateway drug alright. A gateway to a search and incarceration on behalf of faggot pigs.
The reason pot is illegal is that it is profitable! End that and poof, there goes pharma profits, local budgets, etc.
War on drugs = war on terror = Scooby Doo chasing ghosts.
A FUCKING RACKET -- I AINT AFRAID OF NO GO-GO-GHOSTS!
Now that barry is el presidente he can get 8 miles high on ChoomForce1. I wonder if the captain keeps the cockpit door closed so he does not get a contact high?
