Protect The Banks At All Costs
Give a man a gun, and he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he can rob a country.
Those are the very true words that two weeks ago had a man in Pennsylvania arrested. His purported crime? Terroristic threats, and the attempted robbery of the bank he was protesting!
An Occupy Easton protester faces an attempted bank robbery charge following an arrest at an organized event at a bank – during which the “Occupier” was holding a sign that reportedly read “You’re being robbed.”
According to The Express-Times, Dave Gorczynski allegedly held cardboard signs outside a Wells Fargo Branch that read, “You’re being robbed,” while the other said, “Give a man a gun, he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he can rob a country.”
Occupy Easton reports on their Facebook page that Gorczynski “was at the bank protesting the theft of our tax dollars, our homes, and our economy by the criminal banksters.”
Welcome to the new America — where banks must be protected at all costs. Whether it’s a bailout or a trumped up charge to silence a protestor, if the banks want it, they get it.
The district attorney in the case has dropped the charge of attempted robbery. However, a terroristic threat charge remains.
Joe Stiglitz notes:
What Iceland did was right. It would have been wrong to burden future generations with the mistakes of the financial system.
And Paul Krugman writes:
What Iceland’s recovery demonstrated was the case for letting creditors of private banks gone wild eat the losses.
A funny thing happened on the way to economic Armageddon: Iceland’s very desperation made conventional behavior impossible, freeing the nation to break the rules. Where everyone else bailed out the bankers and made the public pay the price, Iceland let the banks go bust and actually expanded its social safety net. Where everyone else was fixated on trying to placate international investors, Iceland imposed temporary controls on the movement of capital to give itself room to maneuver.
Krugman, it seems — after years of defending bank bailouts — is learning.
But what hope is there of telling the banks to take a hike when law enforcement, politicians and courts will gladly arrest, charge and try an anti-bank protestor exercising their constitutional right to free speech?
Law enforcement, politicians and courts have it upside down. It isn’t banks that need protection from protestors. It’s citizens that need protection from the banks.

I guess you are serious, but your conclusions are laughable. The US govt has murdered millions, the reasons? Profit for club members.
It is still murdering, it has an ongoing agenda to terrorise, kill and enslave human beings, all over the world .. and you say, "Hey .. now .. c'mon, there's no need for violence."
The DIEBOL voting machines are easily rigged, there is masses of evidence to say they have been rigged in the past - just look it up on the net. Besides, they have total control over preselection, total control over the media and can engineer consent from a niave and ignorant people. They have also quite obviously rigged votes against Ron Paul during the presidential race, just for some more evidence (again go look on the net).
Are you waiting for them to come out and say "OK - we did it, we are criminals."?
This guy killed people who are basically only guilty of ignorance, and being brain washed (much like yourself) - which is much less than the state has done, but it presumes a moral authority. Also, killing the president would achieve nothing - it would only serve as a warning, and have no doubt the state would use it as an excuse to tighten its fist.
The state has no moral authority - it is a murderous machine - the families of the dead have a legitimate grievance, no doubt - but the state has no seat at any table to discuss justice.
While I might disagree with how this guy went about things, and condemn him for killing people who did not deserve such a death, and I can see the plan was doomed to failure - I cannot stand in judgement over his desire to bring someone to account, or to strike out in rage against injustice.
Is it bad that I agree with Krugman's words above?
It's time for the banks to "eat their peas"
If Zero Hedge were worth more than words, users would organize flash mobs at local banks. These peaceful protest mobs would emerge when events like this one take place, and disappear just as suddenly.
Any ideas how to accomplish this? A real time flash mob creation process through this site?
I'm guessing the biggest fear among users here is that organizing on this or any site creates a trail of evidence which can be retrieved and used to prosecute you as an enemy of the banks, i.e. "the government".
Any clever people have a way around this while still using this site?
Heres a try. I'm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Flash Mob can meet up once we have 30 confirmed replies stating a willingness and intention to go 'flash mob protest' the bank listed below. If you are in the Coral Springs, Tamarac, Lauderhill, Sunrise, Plantation, or surrounding areas or counties and want to attend a quick 3 hour protest this week in the peak traffic hours (early evening), reply to this post saying "YES" and we will figure out a good date to assemble this week.

I'm obviously a YES.
HEY! Thanks for figuring out a way to shut this site down. You're a fucking genius.
Banning a book makes it an automatic best seller. Coward.
Good thing there's no surveilance otherwise I'd be nervous for you.
If you can't protest then what?
"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." -- JFK
here was last weeks Thought Criminal Marine Staff Sergaent Brandon Raub who was held until a:
Hopewell Circuit Judge W. Allan Sharrett found that a document ordering Raub's transfer this week from a Hopewell hospital to the Salem VA Medical Center was faulty and "so devoid of any factual allegations that it could not be reasonably expected to give rise to a case or controversy."
Raub, 26, was released from the Salem hospital shortly after 5 p.m.

Right. Now who's reponsible for the document writing and arrest order?
The Marine got ratted out by his Platoon leader , appartently, who had been following his post on FB.
Here is the initial article:
http://www2.timesdispatch.com/news/2012/aug/19/tdmet02-chesterfield-man-held-in-hospital-on-conce-ar-2140519/
And on Aug. 4, he posted, "I am standing against a great evil. I will do it all by myself if I have to."
"Our office had received a complaint about threatening posts," said Dee Rybiski, spokeswoman for the Richmond FBI office. "As we would do in any circumstance such as this, our office along with Chesterfield Police (Department) officers went to interview Mr. Raub.
"The FBI did not arrest him," Rybiski said. "We are not commenting any further."
Chesterfield police Lt. Rich McCullough said Saturday, "We were assisting the FBI in a matter. All we did was transport" him to John Randolph for medical evaluation.
So they read his FB page and did a drive by to his house to pick him up. Notice in this article the Police claim to be "assisting the FBI".
Jeez! Who is next? I sure hope ZH keeps anonimity or we are all screwed!!!!
There are not enough lawyers in the country to keep the ZHers out of the can!
Maybe there is some hope...
I did find some of his views whacky, but based on that criterion, half of ZH would be in the asylum too ;-)
“Give a man a gun, he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he can rob a country.”
LOL.
Mafia, bitchez!
Where all the real money is made.
Let's all worry about Gay Marriage and Mitt Romney's taxes.
Most cops would arrest their mother and taser her if told to; what chance do you have? It is time to act cleverly...
Constituional Deficient. When a paycheck is on the line, look out baby.Even rank and file who are aware will be demonized.
Constitutionally guaranteed free speech and right to peaceably assemble is now officially "terroristic" in our brave new world.
