Here Comes FIATtackWatch: Ben "Big Brother" Bernanke Goes Watergate, Prepares To Eavesdrop On Everything Mentioning The Fed

Two weeks ago, the media's heart went aflutter when it learned that the president had borrowed a page right out of ole' Joe McCarthy's communist witch hunt book with the launch of Attack Watch. The response by everyone, even fans of Obama, was immediate and brutal. Yet where Obama took about 24 hours to crash and burn, someone else has stepped in with a far stealthier method of ferreting out the traitors amongst us: none other than our old friends, the Federal Reserve Bank of the United States, which in a Request for Proposals filed to companies that are Fed vendors, is requesting the creation of a "Social Listening Platform" whose function is to "gather data from various social media outlets and news sources." It will "monitor billions of conversations and generate text analytics based on predefined criteria." The Fed's desired product should be able to "determine the sentiment [ED:LOL] of a speaker or writer with respect to some topic or document"... "The solution must be able to gather data from the primary social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Forums and YouTube. It should also be able to aggregate data from various media outlets such as: CNN, WSJ, Factiva etc." Most importantly, the "Listening Platform" should be able to "Handle crisis situations, Continuously monitor conversations, and Identify and reach out to key bloggers and influencers." Said otherwise, the Fed has just entered the counterespionage era and will be monitoring everything written about it anywhere in the world. After all, why ask others to snitch for you and anger everyone as Obama found out the hard way, when you can pay others to create the supreme FIATtack WatchTM using money you yourself can print in unlimited amounts. And once the Internet is completely "transparent", the Fed will next focus on telephone conversations, and finally will simply bug each and every otherwise "private" location in the world. Because very soon saying that "printing money is treason" will be treason, and such terrorist thoughts must be pre-crimed before they even occur.

All we can say is we welcome our new Chairsatan Voldemort overlord. For it is truly he who must not be named henceforth.

Social media platforms are changing the way organizations are communicating to the public Conversations are happening all the time and everywhere.
There is need for the Communications Group to be timely and proactively aware of the reactions and opinions expressed by the general public as it relates to the Federal Reserve and its actions on a variety of subjects.

II. Social Listening Platforms

Social media listening platforms are solutions that gather data from various social media outlets and news sources.  They monitor billions of conversations and generate text analytics based on predefined criteria.  They can also determine the sentiment of a speaker or writer with respect to some topic or document.
The information gathered can guide the organizations public relations group in assessing the effectiveness of communication strategies.

Here are some of the services it can offer:   

o Track reach and spread of your messages and press releases    
o Handle crisis situations    
o Continuously monitor conversations    
o Identify and reach out to key bloggers and influencers    
o Spot emerging trends, discussions themes and topics    

A. Geographic scope of social media sites

The solution must support content coming from different countries and geographical regions. It should also support multiple languages.

B. Content and Data Types

The solution must be able to gather data from the primary social media platforms –Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Forums and YouTube. It should also be able to aggregate data from various media outlets such as: CNN, WSJ, Factiva etc.

C. Reports and Metrics

The solution must provide real-time monitoring of relevant conversations.  It should provide sentiment analysis (positive, negative or neutral) around key conversational topics.

It must be able to provide summaries or high level overviews of a specific set of topics. It should have a configurable dashboard that can easily be accessed by internal analysts or management.  The dashboard must support customization by user or group access.

The solution should provide an alerting mechanism that automatically sends out reports or notifications based a predefined trigger.

D. FRBNY Technology Integration

The solution must be able to integrate with existing FRBNY technologies such as: Google Search appliance, Lotus notes suite and web trends.It must have support for single sign on or windows integrated authentication.

E. Cost Structure

The solution should offer a flexible pricing structure that can support multiple user licensing.  It should also have the option to base pricing on content volume and usage. Supplier acknowledges an understanding of and agrees to comply with the above minimum solutions requirements.

That's it.  They just do not care.  A new television season, football season and somehow they'll pull the NBA mess together.  Can't have a lapse in sports over the winter keeping that sector of the populace busy.  So long as they think the sheep are distracted, they believe they can act with impunity.  I don't know about where you live but around here, we can't go to the grocery store without complete strangers getting into conversations about the economy and even the Fed.  It's nearly inspiring.  That's not to say there aren't plenty of goobers because I know there are, but the fact that so many seem awake and engaged and want to talk gives me a little hope.

I can imagine a scenario where the Federal Reserve and their banking overlords have already planned for 'the death of the Federal Reserve,' but only in a meaningless gesture of kabuki theater in an attempt to constrain/limit growing animosity towards the Federal Reserve and illumination of who they are, how they operate, and whose interests they truly serve.

However, do not be surprised to see the powers of the Federal Reserve reconstituted, in very stealth fashion, in some other group or entity, in an attempt to perpetuate the fraud, theft and great fractional reserve banking Ponzi system.

I believe this is why a one world government has been and is the number one priority for those who wish to try and impose their will upon the natural order of the world, telling all where and how they can live, eat, think and pray (or not pray), in the surrogate role of some sort of god-like figurehead. The majority of gun owners in the U.S. will not comply with forced confiscation of firearms.  And, it will not be the first choice of the "government beast."

The government will FIRST employ a voluntary disarmament system with incentives, e.g. guns for food program, guns for house, guns for a job program, etc.

SECOND will come executive orders enacting prohibitive taxes and regulations on ammo and firearm purchases.    Yes, you can own a gun, but you can't use it or take it out of your home.

THIRD will come incentives for snitches.  If you see something say something.  Neighbors snitching for rewards---such as a govt job---for identifying "gun nuts."  Being a gun owner will be villanized.  Potential domestic terrorist.

FINALLY will come outright non-voluntary confiscation.  But, by the time things ever get this bad federal, state and local civil authority will be crumbling anyway. 

Word to the government:  The majority of us gun owners will NEVER give up our firearms.  But, you know that already don't you.  We will defend the 2nd Ammendment with the 2nd Ammendment.

Ben -- if you're listening now here is a simple plan: Fix the value of a dollar to a gold price, say today's price. Then add money if the price of gold falls. If you see it rise, take money supply from the system. Then you can fire thousands of otherwise useless functionaries and put them into the private sector where they will maybe add real value, save the government millions or billions, add stability to the currency and more certitude to the business community

Backing the US Dollar with Gold would mean the government actually have physical Gold to back up the dollars it's printed. Assuming the US Government actually has the amount of physical Gold it claims to have would require Gold price to inflate to $52,000 an ounce.  The last Gold audit was in 1948.

This would constrain spending the same way gold-backed money would. Of course, that is NOT what the politicians want to do.

I think you may have missed that little detail in the Constitution about Freedom of Speech and Assembly, often referred to correctly as a Freedom of Association.   McCarthy certainly missed it, and he ruined a lot of lives because of what people believed politically (people who were no threat to anyone or anything, unless you are so scared that alternative ideas will destroy your country that you must suppress thought).   But I suppose if you feel the ends always justify the means, then who needs a lousy Constitution anyway?  Very inconvenient, indeed.

Try it.  And I don't mean that you should get all of your information from Ann Coulter.   Not so well balanced.  In a free society, you tolerate different views in order to have a free society.   You are confusing holding unpopular ideas, with espionage and giving away of state secrets.  Putting aside why our state has so many secrets to begin with, most of the targets of the McCarthy hearings had no access to sensitive information.   Many of those who did were being investigated solely because of their association -- however tenuous -- with someone that McCarthy considered a Red.  The vast majority did nothign wrong and there was no evidence they did.  I'll bet you consider yourself a defender of the Constitution, but your posts suggest that you have no idea what you are defending.   You also probably fail to see the irony that you are posting in connection with an article about a group (the Fed) who see themselves as justified in spying on Americans to support their particular ideology.

I don't support the FED, it should go. The reference to McCarthy was one sided and simplistic, I called it out. As is classic of your kind, while it might make you feel good to think I support Ann coulter or whatever ghost revolts you, I hate to shatter your world view, but I think she is a boob, just like I think you lefty friends are boobs too

As for 'secrets', I think that during and immediately after world war 2, giving away 'secrets' like the A-bomb, engraving plates to US currency, movement of troop positions, industrial technology, etc would be considered by most rational people to be something people in our government shouldnt be doing

Also, do you know how subversives work. Do you know who/what followers are? Do you know how 'communists' of the day used 'friends' to transport messages, housed 'agents' etc.

You may not like the fact that you are being called out for parroting Coulter, but the shoe fits.  Your addition of numerous "lefty" references and "go tell it to HuffPo" pretty well seals the deal.   And you made no effort to answer my assertion that there was no evidence against the vast majority of McCarthy's targets, which is exactly why what he did was wrong.  There is nothing wrong with prosecuting criminal espionage based upon evidence Constitutionally obtained.  What McCarthy did was completely different, even if as you believe his heart was in the right place.   It is a strange fact that so many who claim to love Freedom detest its practice.

Not that there is any point arguing with Randhead (the ultimate in tribal mentality), but being a MEMBER OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY is not a crime.  It's that pesky First Amendment thing again.   Yet McCarthy effectively made it a crime, because he did not really believe in the Constitution he was sworn to protect.  He held an ideology which was is afraid of competing ideas, and mostly he was an opportunist.   I find that most Randaid drinkers only understand things when applied to them, so consider this:   I suspect that if you were hauled in front of Congress to explain why you should not be found guily of sedition for calling for an End of the Fed, you would think it an abuse of power that should not be tolerated in a free society.  You would point out laws that make it proper for you to speak your mind on this issue, and you would be right.  You would be right even if 95% of the population found your ideas dangerous and distasteful.  It is ironic that you spread your First Amendment wings at will, but want to deny everyone else the opportunity (except those who agree with you, of course).

I have no heros, but I do agree with many of Rand's points.   As for Unions, if you truely believe your comments about the middle class, then you haven't done your research.    Unions have single handedly destroyed most of the successful industries in  the USA over the pasty 60 years.    If you have read the history of most major ORGANIZED unions, you will know that they were supported by Communists and the goals were obvious.    It just amazes me how little people know about the history around them.     When the US was dominating almost everything it touched, spawning siginficant innovations, attracting talented immigrants from Europe and elsewhere, who do you think was threatened by the fluidity of this amazing grwoing industrial engine????    The industiral powers of Europe.    THey had their guilds, their cozy relationships with their governments, their expensive and emerging welfare systems too keep the masses in some contriol.    All of their antiquated cost structures, fat margins, etc were being threatened by the rouge and vulgar people of the US.     Also, the sweeping of the communist movement in Russia (a country that, through constant violence, gave up serfdom for all its citizens that were not nobels in the mid-1800s and still had a King in the early 1900s) attracted the children of the US well-to-do to their swan-song of equality and paid/influenced them to export unionism to LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD for them as well.    In short, the US was despised for being successful, for having a 'free' and open society, without the baggage that came from nobility, priviledged industries, lack of entrepreunership, lack of innovation and class mobility.   THe way to LEVEL the playing field was to raise the cost structure of the US, create class warfare, stop the free flow of capital, raise the bar for company formation, etc.     All in the name of 'helping the poor'.    YUP, beware of those whose mission it is to 'help the poor' - is that your mission Snidely, to help the poor?

As for destroying the middle-class, what do you think the average wage was in the 1920s for a laborer?   It was about $20/week (give or take a few dollars).    What was an ounce of gold then, Snidley?  ABout $20/ounce.    DO the middle class make an ounce of gold a week Snidley today?   How are our steel mills doing Snidley?   How are our auto plants doing?    How about textile?   Industrial manufacturing of products like knee-mills, lathes, robots?    Hmmm Snidley?      How about our education system?   How are our public schools, another bastion of 'middle class opportunity'?    What is their success rate?    How many  engineers, scientists, etc are we cultivating Snidley?     Do our young folks want to be business men or guitarists, NGO, Non-profit or government employees?    Where did this indoctrination come from Snidley?   

Yes, yes.   Rand was cruel.   Much better to be pulled by the nose by the real self-interested folks (your dreaded TPTB) of the world that want to see WHAT WAS the last bastion for a person to live a 'free' life finally put in its grave.    But, we'll trot Hollywood actors, writers, etc that were members of the communist party and feel sorry for their 'RUINED LIVES' for making that decision..   And we'll also shed tears for the midf-west rsut belt, devastated by government sactioned and PROTECTED unionism.

 

As a final thought, have you heard about the 'Angel Gabriel' story.    if not, he tries to be a nice fellow and puts 1 million dollars in everybody's bank account over night, thinking he just made everybody a millionaire and solved poverty once and for all.   Problem was, he wasn't a good busines person.   He didn't realize that raising everybody's bank account didn't make anybody richer, it just raised prices proportionally till there was no advantage.    Now, go ahead and pretend that everybody joined a union tomorrow.   Right!   Nothing would change.    They know this Snidley, that's why they are not for the things you think they believe in.   Unions are exclusionary.   They like guild systems.   They foster separation and classes.

Desparation galore. 
One has (and gets from numerous folk I've spoken with of this today) immediate reactions of;
- Big Brother
- Who is doing what and in WTF?
- What is their fucking problem?  I can tell them about this shit.
- Why bother?
- The public reaction is the best feedback you can get, so why make it just soooooo creepy?
- Are they really that insular and isolated for MS America?

The list was long and hyper-critical.
Most conclusions were of desparation, juvinile, unprofessional and over all, a terrible credibility problem.

Now, with respect to the latter.  How good is that?  How professional does it get for a Central Bank to shoot itself in the foot in such a manner that is not even within the perview of its charter?
My God!

Come to think of it, if they really want the value of the dollar to fall on the 4X market, keep this shit up.

The RFP was posted Sept 16 with proposals due Sept 26.

Unless the contract was already well along in discussions with a favored consultant, that is a ridiculously short time to put together any kind of intelligent response for this scale of work.

 

Separately, is it not wonderful that as a private entity, the Fed is free to invest in anything it chooses, even projects off limits to the FBI (Carnivore), the NSA (TIA) or POTUS?
