"Material Banknote Order Reinstated"

Tyler Durden's picture

Another hint?

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 7, 2012) - Fortress Paper Ltd. ("Fortress Paper" or the "Corporation") (TSX:FTP), announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Landqart AG, a leading manufacturer of banknote and security papers, has had a material banknote order reinstated. This order was unexpectedly suspended in the fourth quarter of 2011 which negatively impacted the financial results of Landqart's operations in the first half of 2012.

Chadwick Wasilenkoff, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Fortress Paper, commented, "The recommencement of this previously delayed order will provide Landqart with momentum to realize additional orders and maximize operating efficiencies. This important order allows Landqart to better optimize the overall mill and should provide a meaningful contribution to its margins compared to recent quarters."

About Fortress Paper

Fortress Paper operates internationally in three distinct business  segments: dissolving pulp, specialty papers and security paper products.  The Company operates its dissolving pulp business at the Fortress  Specialty Cellulose Mill located in Canada which is also in the process  of expanding into the renewable energy generation sector with the  construction of a cogeneration facility. The Company operates its  specialty papers business at the Dresden Mill located in Germany, where  it is a leading international producer of specialty non-woven wallpaper  base products. The Company operates its security paper products business  at the Landqart Mill located in Switzerland, where it produces  banknote, passport, visa and other brand protection and security papers,  and at its Fortress Optical Facility located in Canada, where it  manufacturers optically variable thin film material.

Well, if the chart of De La Rue is any indication of how banknote printers respond to potential European disintegration, it just may be that the best hedge to a VIX soaring to 80, aka "disorderly Grexit" as explained earlier by Citi, just may be TSX:FTP.

In the meantime, here is the swiss-security-paper complex of Lanqart:

With digital currency being all the fad, Apple should just develop a currency app for all the primary dealer banks.  This way banksters can print mobily and distribute to iPads, iPods, iPhones, etc.

Market will sell off this afternoon ahead of DREADFUL Chinease numbers.  I expect us to end the day down 0.5% on the SPX.

We will get nothing more then a BS statement this weekend about "Europe standing by ready to assist Spain if they need it".  Nothing concrete because Spain doesn't know how much money it needs yet and Germany hasn't decided on the terms of surrender,

Next week all eyes will be on the Greek election.  There will be a lot of false rumors floated about PASOK and ND alliance being ahead in the polls as the MSM tries to engineer a risk on rally, but by the end of the week we will have sold off hard.  I'm thinking down 3%-5% for the week.

The bank note order is to prepare for GrExit.  The markets will go so bat shit insane that Spain will have to quit pretending and hand Germany full political control in return for a full rescue package.

Then the debt bandits will start to pounce on Italy and France.

We end June at or below 1,240.

This must be the most stupid news article this year in ZH. Some fucking paper note company is getting more orders and you numnuts think it must be because Germany is ordering new Deutschmarks!

Could be US dollars actually (more than likely Swiss francs tho.) The shortages were extreme in 2008 and "here we go again." One way to get around the logistical problems of getting dollars into ATM's is to "print in Switzerland." I'm sure if there's an actual demand for pesetas, lira, drachma, etc..they can print that too but you won't be able to buy anything with those currencies. Swiss francs probably not because they don't have a big enough "economy" to back a currency for an entire Continent. Plus with "lease/lend" (we'll put US flags on all the gold in the various Federal Reserve Banks) the US will then "lend you dollars" which can go out to..."your people"...which perhaps will buy you something other than total anarchy...which is what the euro money only gets you.

The US Treasury NEVER uses private or foreign printers. All dollars are made by the BEP. This banknote order is probably new Euros to accomodate an expected Bank Run.

Next up, I'm on the WARPATH against Zero Hedge, which I've tried to give the benefit of the doubt lately.  Not that they are ALL bad on the PM topic, but for the most part, are barely a notch above Yahoo! Finance - i.e., BRAIN DEAD.  Yesterday, I went off on their mindless headlines about "gold plunging" while Bernanke spoke...

Dont worry, Chancellor Osborne has a plan to save the uk.

The Chancellor has told Treasury officials to find ways to persuade savers to transfer billions of pounds held in bank accounts, building societies and investment funds to new government "growth bonds".

Maybe this is naive, but does it not matter who ends up with the Euro? If Greece leaves, the Euro strengthens because it effectively becomes the DM. If Germany leaves, the Euro is toast because it effectively becomes the Drachma/Peseta/Lira...  Seems like direction matters. Am I missing something?
