Update: CME DIRECT ISSUES NOW RESOLVED, EXCHANGE SAYS
CME Group's online trading platform CME Direct will be unavailable until further notice due to a technical issue, the exchange said in a member notice this morning sent at 0857ET. While volumes look largely unaffected, Reuters reports [5]that the outage came on the first day that CME migrated many users of its EOS Trader platform over to CME Direct, and also coincided with an upgrade to CME Direct's technology, sources familiar with the matter said.
The notice, sent at 8:57 a.m. EST (1357 GMT), followed an earlier message noting that connectivity issues were affecting CME Direct users' ability to log in. The notice said that all customer orders will be cancelled, including "Good Till Cancelled" and "Good Till Date" orders.

Traders said they were still able to trade by submitting over-the-counter or block trades through CME ClearPort or over email, and that other trading platforms for CME products were operating without issues.
That means that so far this outage is likely not as serious a glitch as the one experienced by the New York Stock Exchange in July, which forced the exchange to halt trading for nearly four hours.
Perhaps it is a testament to the CME that unlike during the NYSE's infamous shutdown earlier this summer, not only has there been virtually no drama, but today's market ramp has continued without a glitch.
