David Petraeus, "Treasury Analyst": Please Don't Quit Your Day Job
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/24/2015 13:12 -0500Somehow everything in the following statement from David Petraeus is wrong: "There is no shortage of customers for the purchase of U.S. Treasuries," said Petraeus.... "Given the relative strength of the U.S. economy and the prospect of the Fed raising interest rates at some point in the months ahead, I suspect there will continue to be very keen interest in U.S. Treasuries."
Clueless Carly - Crony Capitalist Warmonger With Flash Cards
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/23/2015 14:40 -0500Great companies like Hewlett-Packard are now being run not by adult professionals but day-trading punters. Carly Fiorina was one of the latter. She excelled at mastering her flash cards and pitching financial bubbles from the time of the misbegotten Lucent IPO, to her campaign for the Compaq acquisition, to her final days at Hewlett-Packard. What she didn’t excel at was learning a single thing that qualifies her to be President of the United States - not the least of which is humility. Fiorina needs to shut-up, sit down and flush her flash cards. The furtherance of liberty, prosperity and peace are not what Torquemada’s do.
US Drones Responsible For More Civilian Deaths in Yemen than Al Qaeda
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/23/2015 09:20 -0500The US government’s ongoing drone strikes in Yemen are little-known to the general American public, but, according to a U.N. report published last week, U.S. drone strikes have killed roughly 40 Yemeni civilians in the past year. The figure is 60% greater than the number of civilians killed by al Qaeda in that same period (al Qaeda is reportedly responsible for 24 civilian deaths).

Ron Paul Rages: Don't Blame America, Blame The Neocon Interventionists For The Syrian Catastrophe
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/21/2015 20:45 -0500"I don’t blame America. I am America, you are America. I don’t blame you. I blame bad policy. I blame the interventionists. I blame the neoconservatives who preach this stuff, who believe in it like a religion — that they have to promote American goodness even if you have to bomb and kill people. In short, I don’t blame America; I blame neocons."
Putin's Plan: Moscow Handles Syria, U.S. Looks After Iraq
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/21/2015 18:30 -0500Russia has now confirmed that it is intervening in the Syrian war on the side of the Assad government; and, as Al-Arabiya's Azeem Ibrahim notes, the response of the U.S. betrays its impotent incredulity. Russia is poised to return to the Middle East, from which it was ejected with the collapse of the USSR. The United States seems to be telling Russia to go ahead, because, as Raghida Dergham explains, it is unwilling to engage – though it is not yet ready to fully retreat.
Secret Cable Reveals US Plan To Overthrow Assad By Exploiting "Extremist Groups"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/21/2015 17:01 -0500"Possible Actions: Publicize presence of transiting (or externally focused) extremist groups in Syria, not limited to mention of Hamas and PIJ. Publicize Syrian efforts against extremist groups in a way that suggests weakness, signs of instability, and uncontrolled blowback. The SARG,s argument (usually used after terror attacks in Syria) that it too is a victim of terrorism should be used against it to give greater prominence to increasing signs of instability within Syria."

Can The Saudi Economy Resist "Much Lower For Much Longer"?
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/21/2015 08:50 -0500The Saudis must alter course, seek a consensus on prices and volumes with their fellow OPEC members, coordinate with Russia, and reduce output from 2015’s average (approx. 10.5 mmbbl/d) to signal their commitment. Why? Crude prices staying lower for longer will rapidly devastate the Saudi economy.
Middle-East Migration - The Problem/Opportunity Dilemma
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/20/2015 19:45 -0500A problem can turn into an opportunity if tackled with a clear mind and a kind heart; seldom can it be solved with fear; and never, ever with hate.
Obama Will "Accept" 100,000 Refugees In The US Starting 2017
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/20/2015 12:30 -0500In a move 'spun' by John Kerry as "keeping with America’s best tradition as a land of second chances and a beacon of hope," NYTimes reports the Obama administration is willing to accept to 100,000 annually in 2017, a significant increase over the current worldwide cap of 70,000. Kerry further added that the US would explore ways to increase the limit beyond 100,000 in future years while carrying out background checks to ensure that the refugees have not been infiltrated by terrorists.
