Yes, A New Crisis is Coming - And Here's Why
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/27/2015 16:15 -0500The weakness seen in world economic activity is partly the result of the lack of a real purge of the financial system in 2008. It has become unimaginable to let entire parts of the system collapse, and the titling of some financial institutions as “systemic” is part of this logic. Policymakers attempting to keep unhealthy economic and financial institutions alive are making a mistake. The very essence of capitalism lies in the process of creative destruction. What we see here is not a way out of the crisis. Instead, we are on the edge of a new financial disaster.
Europe's On A Road To A Very Bleak Nowhere
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/27/2015 13:28 -0500It will become clearer, fast, what an awful mess Brussels and Berlin have created here, because with winter approaching more refugees will fall victim to the conditions under which they’re forced to live once they’ve entered Europe. Which, in their own eyes, will still be preferable to the conditions in their homelands. And then what will we do, when dozens start dying from cold and diseases? Send in more police and military? This is a road to a very bleak nowhere.
Washington's Syria "Strategy" In Complete Disarray As "Ally" Turkey Bombs US-Armed Rebels
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/27/2015 11:43 -0500In the latest example of US foreign policy gone horribly awry, "ally" Turkey is now bombing the very same Syrian Kurds who just two weeks ago received 50 tons (literally) of US weapons and ammo paradropped from on high. The situation has become so convoluted and self-defeating that one wonders how long it will be before someone in Congress decides it's time to take a look at exactly what's going on here and why it seems like this entire debacle is simply too bad to be true.
Why The Fate Of Syria's Christians Should Concern Us All
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/26/2015 13:00 -0500The world is witnessing the destruction of Syria, a country with a rich history going back millennia. But there is one significant minority that faces total annihilation if the radical factions prevail: Syria’s Christian community.
Einsteinian Insanity: US, Saudi Arabia Pledge To Provide More Guns, Ammo To Syrian Proxy Armies
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/25/2015 08:32 -0500You have to hand it to Washington. When it comes to foreign policy blunders, the US certainly isn’t afraid to double and triple down. With the West and its regional allies in full panic mode as the effort to bring about regime change in Syria continues to crumble under pressure from Russian airstrikes and Iranian ground forces, the US and Saudi Arabia have agreed to step up their support for the various proxy armies battling to oust Bashar al-Assad.

3 Questions They Should Have Asked Hillary About Benghazi, But Didn't (And Never Will)
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/23/2015 13:35 -0500The circus is back in town in Washington D.C. (actually, it’s part of a permanent residency), as a congressional panel spent Thursday peppering presidential candidate Hillary Clinton with questions about her role in the Benghazi consulate attack. It’s pure political theater, but sadly, no one on this congressional panel will ask the real questions to which Americans deserve answers. And this is because the real scandal presents questions that can’t be asked, because the answers indict the entire U.S. government.

What If They Started A War And Everyone Came?
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/22/2015 21:20 -0500What if the U.S. had not invaded Iraq in 2003? How would things be different in the Middle East today? Was Iraq, in the words of presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, the "worst foreign policy blunder" in American history? Let's take a big-picture tour of the Middle East and try to answer those questions. But first, a request: after each paragraph that follows, could you make sure to add the question “What could possibly go wrong?”
In "Manifest Waste Of Time," Portugal Reappoints PM In Defiance Of Anti-Euro Left Coalition
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/22/2015 15:32 -0500In what amounts to a slap in the face for a coalition of Leftist lawmakers who are opposed to the austerity programs that some believe are responsible for painful economic adjustments, Portugal has reappointed PM Pedro Passos Coelho. This sets the country up for an intractable political stalemate and will serve to embed an enormous amount of uncertainty in markets going forward.
