Iran Embarrasses Obama, Takes Nuclear Samples With No Supervision

As tipped last month, the IAEA is allowing Iran to self-police the sample collecting process at a controversial military installation. Although inspectors and Iranian officials give conflicting accounts, what's clear is that Tehran is not at all prepared to accept a situation that causes the Rouhani government to lose credibility with the Iranian public. Expect GOP lawmakers (not to mention presidential candidates) to hold this up as yet another example of why the deal is likely to blow up (figuratively speaking we hope) in the face of the Obama administration.

Low Interest Rates Cannot Save A House Of Cards

While the Federal Reserve has chosen to keep the Federal Funds rate near zero, it is merely delaying the inescapable and inevitable result of its own monetary policy – another needed economic correction that its actions will have generated but which it will, no doubt, blame on the supposed “failures” of the market economy.

US Drones Responsible For More Civilian Deaths in Yemen than Al Qaeda

The US government’s ongoing drone strikes in Yemen are little-known to the general American public, but, according to a U.N. report published last week, U.S. drone strikes have killed roughly 40 Yemeni civilians in the past year. The figure is 60% greater than the number of civilians killed by al Qaeda in that same period (al Qaeda is reportedly responsible for 24 civilian deaths).

The Crisis Of The Now: Distracted & Diverted From The Ever-Encroaching Police State

Unless we get up off our fat surpluses and recognize that television in the main is being used to distract, delude, amuse, and insulate us, then television and those who finance it, those who look at it, and those who work at it, may see a totally different picture too late.”

Putin's Plan: Moscow Handles Syria, U.S. Looks After Iraq

Russia has now confirmed that it is intervening in the Syrian war on the side of the Assad government; and, as Al-Arabiya's Azeem Ibrahim notes, the response of the U.S. betrays its impotent incredulity. Russia is poised to return to the Middle East, from which it was ejected with the collapse of the USSR. The United States seems to be telling Russia to go ahead, because, as Raghida Dergham explains, it is unwilling to engage – though it is not yet ready to fully retreat.

Obama Will "Accept" 100,000 Refugees In The US Starting 2017

In a move 'spun' by John Kerry as "keeping with America’s best tradition as a land of second chances and a beacon of hope," NYTimes reports the Obama administration is willing to accept to 100,000 annually in 2017, a significant increase over the current worldwide cap of 70,000. Kerry further added that the US would explore ways to increase the limit beyond 100,000 in future years while carrying out background checks to ensure that the refugees have not been infiltrated by terrorists.

Clock Ticks On US Syria Strategy As Assad Pounds ISIS Targets, Russia Sends Fighter Jets

For the second consecutive day, Bashar al-Assad pounded ISIS targets across Syria on Friday, serving notice that Russia's stepped up "technical" and "logistical" support may have turned the tide in the country's four-year civil war. With Moscow having called Washington's bluff, Obama instructs Defense Secretary Ashton Carter to liaise with the Russian military while in Tehran, Major General Qassem Soleimani lays bare America's ISIS strategy.

Obama Folds Again, To Begin Syria Military Talks With Russia "Very Shortly"

As NY Times reports, "though the administration has long said that President Bashar al-Assad must go for there to be a durable solution to the Syria crisis, Mr. Kerry seemed on Friday to allow for the possibility that Mr. Assad might remain in power in the short term. Mr. Assad has had Russia’s backing throughout the conflict."

Fourth Turning: Crisis Of Trust, Part 2

The world is becoming increasingly chaotic and the American people are seeking a leader who can bring order, make tough decisions, and capture the zeitgeist of this moment in history. They are in search of a prophet generation (Boomer) Grey Champion, whose arrival marks the moment of darkness, adversity and peril as the Fourth Turning careens towards its climax. The Grey Champion doesn’t necessarily have to be a good person, but they must lead and display tremendous confidence in their cause and path. Franklin, Lincoln, and FDR have many detractors, but during their Fourth Turnings, they most certainly led, casting aside obstacles (sometimes illegally) and enduring dark days and bleak prospects for success. Is there someone of that stature ready to lead the American people now?

Iraq War Veteran Blows Whistle On Shameless Propaganda Being Taught At Police Academies

There is no “war on police” happening in America today. What is happening is a growing movement of people who want police accountability, profess a desire to reform the justice system so that we stop incarcerating people for the oxymoron of “victimless crimes,” and an end to the widespread thieving of the public without due process via a practice known as civil asset forfeiture.

Obamacare Backfires - 400,000 Immigrants Lose Benefits

With tens of thousands of "lucky" Syrian immigrants due to arrive on American shores, it appears these hope-full refugeese may face life in the US is not as 'free' as they hoped. As AP reports, new government procedures have caused more than 400,000 current immigrants to lose healthcare coverage they received under Obamacare this year. The change in procedure shortens the timeframe during which foreign-born citizens can resolve eligibility issues, which has caused 423,000 people to lose their state-sponsored benefits - more than four times more than last year.
