Goldman Sachs Principal Transactions Update: Asleep At The Wheel
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 05/22/2009 03:22 -0500In what is sure to prove a disappointment to EMT and SLP purists, Goldman this week managed to trade a mere 859 million principal PT shares, or just under 6x its combined facilitiation and agency volume. What is this - amateur hour at the New York Plaza? What is more peculiar is the dramatic drop in overall NYSE Program trading: from 3,741 million shares in the prior week to 3,265 million in the most recent week.

Goldman Sachs Principal Transactions Update: Nation Of Domination
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 05/15/2009 12:50 -0500According to NYSE data released yesterday, things are back to normal in the shady world of NYSE program trading, where after a suspicious lull in the prior week, Goldman Sachs' SLP function (or any other 3 letter acronym of your choosing) has cranked up yet again.

Goldman Sachs Principal Transactions Update: 25% Drop
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 05/08/2009 04:05 -0500According to the most recent data out of the NYSE, Goldman's principal program trading dropped an astonishing 25%, hitting a many week low absolute number. Not only that, but the portion of Goldman's principal PT trades as a percentage of total, and as a multiple of agency and customer facilitation also dropped substantially. Now, if Goldman is indeed, in the words of Ed Canaday, merely providing market liquidity under the guise of the SLP program, did the NYSE all of a sudden just feel the need for much less liquidity last week?

Goldman Sachs Now Hiring: Replacement Oracle Of Delphi
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 05/06/2009 14:26 -0500Goldman Sachs has hit a new trading profit record: in the past quarter the company generated over $100 million trading profit on an absolute record of 34 trading days, according to its 10-Q filed today. Not only that, but GS was profitable on 56 days in the quarter and lost money on only 8, meaning it was profitable 87.5% of the time trading in the last quarter (and this isn't even a weighted number).

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 05/01/2009 16:13 -0500Update: It is, of course, Goldman's prerogative to provide their view on the matter. Below is a quote from Goldman Sachs spokesman Ed Canaday (hat tip Felix Salmon):

Goldman Sachs Principal Transactions Update: 1 Billion Shares!
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 04/23/2009 15:53 -0500This is getting surreal. Goldman principal program trading is now well over 5x compared to its customer and agency trades and a 150 million share pick up compared to last week. For yet another week, Goldman's principal trading represents more than half of all NYSE member firm principal transactions.
The people demand Cuomo and an end of market manipulation.
