Ron Paul
Trump Vs. Jeb
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/22/2015 13:43 -0500Trump embodies the American zeitgeist, circa 2015 – its virtues, its vulgarity, its inchoate mixture of common sense and incoherence. You may not like Donald Trump, for any one of a number of reasons, but anti-interventionists have to give him some credit for opening up the presidential debate to a critique of US foreign policy that hasn’t been seen or heard since the Ron Paul campaign.
As Debt Ceiling "Accident" Looms, Ron Paul Jabs Congress: "Don't Mention Warfare/Welfare State!"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/20/2015 13:16 -0500With less than two weeks until a possible debt ceiling "accident" and with investors dumping T-Bills at near record pace, Ron Paul rages that any delay in, or opposition to, raising the debt ceiling will inevitably be met with hand-wringing over Congress’ alleged irresponsibility. But the real irresponsible act would be for Congress to raise the debt ceiling.
"The Fed's Days Are Numbered" Ron Paul On The Crucial Issue "They" Don't Want To Talk About
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/19/2015 18:30 -0500"All The Fed has is credibility" and, as Ron Paul expounds, by folding on a 25bps rate hike, it tells you how fragile this system is... built on a foundation of sand." Indeed, if stocks weren't held up, that would be another 'signal' of the fragility... "and that is why they created The Plunge Protection Team." By "manipulating the most important price in markets," Paul concludes, "we are at the climactic end of the 'system' that started in August 1971."

Sanders And His Followers Are Not Outliers
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/15/2015 18:10 -0500Depending on one’s point of view, Bernie Sanders either held his own or boosted his chances against perceived front-runner Hillary Clinton in Tuesday night’s Democratic presidential primary debate. Regardless of whether Sanders ultimately secures the nomination, the size and energy of the Bernie phenomenon should not be underestimated. If anything, libertarians consistently misjudge the degree to which socialist thought is deeply rooted in the American psyche.
Europe Reveals How Accounts Will Be Frozen During the Next Crisis
Submitted by Phoenix Capital Research on 10/09/2015 09:09 -0500One weekend. The process was not gradual. It was sudden and it was total: once it began in earnest, the banks were closed and you couldn’t get your money out (more on this in a moment).
Ron Paul: I Wish Nobody Was Bombing Syria
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/05/2015 11:15 -0500It may be tempting to cheer Russian military action in Syria, as it seems ISIS is finally suffering some considerable losses. But I cannot cheer the bombs, whether they are Russian bombs or US bombs or French or British bombs. I do not believe a terrorist group created by foreign intervention in the region will be solved by more foreign intervention in the region. Bombs represent a total failure of policy. They destroy a country’s economy and infrastructure.
Ron Paul Trounces Trump, Exclaims Election Is Entertainment "Orchestrated By Major Media"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/04/2015 17:45 -0500“I think some of this stuff in the presidential race is orchestrated by the major media - and it’s entertainment. ... Donald Trump is an authoritarian and he brags about it...An authoritarian is the opposite of a libertarian."
Ron Paul Rages "They" Refuse To Learn From Their Mistakes
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/29/2015 09:53 -0500If Congress understood the Austrian theory of the business cycle, it would have allowed the recession that followed the housing bubble’s inevitable collapse to run its course. Recessions are the economy’s way of eliminating the distortions caused by the Federal Reserve. Attempts by Congress and the Fed to end a recession via inflation and government spending will only lead to future, and more severe, economic downturns.
Guest Post: It’s Not If But When
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/28/2015 17:44 -0500Since the 2008 crash there has been much talk about how the fundamentals have not been dealt with and the fact that the can has only been kicked down the road. Political mavericks and commentators such as Ron Paul have frequently pointed out that nothing has really changed and that we are heading for even bigger disasters ahead if we continue to play ostrich... The truth is that we never left the economic downturn – we are currently in a period of manipulation that’s sole purpose is to mask the fact that there has not been a boom (or recovery if you like) to trigger the next bust.
Buy Gold While You Still Can!
Submitted by GoldCore on 09/28/2015 06:52 -0500There’s an enormous and growing disconnect between the cash and physical markets for gold. This is exactly what we would expect to precede a major market-shaking event based on a physical gold shortage.
Ron Paul Rages: Don't Blame America, Blame The Neocon Interventionists For The Syrian Catastrophe
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/21/2015 20:45 -0500"I don’t blame America. I am America, you are America. I don’t blame you. I blame bad policy. I blame the interventionists. I blame the neoconservatives who preach this stuff, who believe in it like a religion — that they have to promote American goodness even if you have to bomb and kill people. In short, I don’t blame America; I blame neocons."
Ron Paul: Congress Is 'Fiddling' While The Economy Burns
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/15/2015 20:25 -0500Reports that the official unemployment rate has fallen to 5.1 percent may appear to vindicate the policies of easy money, corporate bailouts, and increased government spending. However, even the mainstream media has acknowledged that the official numbers understate the true unemployment rate. Disappointingly, but not surprisingly, few in Washington, DC acknowledge that America’s economic future is endangered by excessive spending, borrowing, taxing, and inflating. Instead, Congress continues to waste taxpayer money on futile attempts to run the economy, run our lives, and run the world.
Remembering 9/11: The Wolf In 'Patriot Act' Sheep's Clothing
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/11/2015 10:11 -0500The day was September 11, 2001. Our New York office was on the 92nd floor of the World Trade Center Tower 1. None of the employees who had arrived to work that day survived. It is a moment that elicits strong emotions within me to this day and I know I’m not alone. In the days and weeks that followed, while the world came together to mourn those lost and to condemn those responsible, our policymakers in Washington were working feverishly to find opportunity in this tragedy. Forty-five days after 9/11, President Bush signed into law the U.S. Patriot Act.
Will China Invade Alaska, Canada? Will Russia?
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/09/2015 19:30 -0500Five Chinese navy ships are currently operating in the Bering Sea off the coast of Alaska, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, marking the first time the U.S. military has seen them in the area. Why the sudden interest? Because the Chinese have been studying the cycles. From generational theorists William Strauss and Neil Howe, they have learned that political/cultural cycles last only 65 years, and then they collapse, cycles first observed by Taoist monks and Roman philosophers. And China is exactly 66 years advanced since the Chinese Communist Revolution of 1949. In terms of generational cycles, China is on the eve of destruction. (In terms of the Strauss/Howe theory, so are we.)
