World Leaders Just Agreed To A "Historic" Climate Accord... Which Is Non-Binding And Has No Enforcement Language
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/12/2015 14:58 -0500
Great news! The "greatest threat to future generations of the world" has apparently been solved. World leaders Saturday adopted an historic international climate accord in Paris, the first-ever agreement to commit almost every country to fight climate change. However, as we knew all along and just got confirmation, the 31-page pact does not have binding language or a mechanism to force countries to live up to the promises to cut greenhouse gases.

Bail-Ins “Undermine Confidence” In Banks - Lead to Suicide of Pensioner
Submitted by GoldCore on 12/11/2015 11:36 -0500A tragic example of this was seen in Italy in recent days when a pensioner committed suicide after having his life savings wiped out in a bank bail-in. A pensioner from near Rome, hanged himself after his €100,000 (£72,000; $110,000) investment in Banca Etruria bonds were wiped out in a bail-in. A suicide note was left by the pensioner criticising the bank.

Cheap Oil's First US Casualty: Alaska Forced To Tax Personal Income For First Time In 35 Years
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/10/2015 14:30 -0500With sadly ironic timing, we noted just last week that the blowback from "unequivocally good" low oil prices was set to cross the border from an increasingly suicidal Canada, and so, as AP reports, it appears Alaska is facing the toughest of times. As oil prices make new cycle lows, Alaska Gov. Bill Walker has called for the state's first income tax in 35 years in order to close a $3.5-billion-dollar deficit the state is carrying. Alaska is currently the only state that does not have a state sales tax or personal income tax, having relied on oil income but, as Walker tweeted, "now is the time for Alaskans to pull together."

“Moment of Historic Opportunity For Gold”
Submitted by GoldCore on 12/10/2015 11:11 -0500“We're at a moment of historic opportunity”.
Gold is one of the few investments that every investor should have in their portfolio.
We are now at the dangerous end-game period of a very bold but very reckless & disappointing experiment with the world's fiat (unbacked) currencies. If this experiment fails -- and we observe it's in the process of failing -- gold will provide one of the best forms of wealth insurance. But like all insurance products, it only works if you buy it before you need to rely on it.

China's gold reserves rose by another 21 tonnes in November, the biggest bout of gold buying since China began disclosing monthly data on it's gold reserves in June
Despite these very high levels of demand, gold prices fell sharply in November - from $1,141/oz to $1,070/oz or 6.6%.
