Investor Sentiment: The Sweet Spot
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 06/06/2010 11:29 -0500As hard as it is to believe, last week's "fat pitch" is this week's "sweet spot".
Investor Sentiment: The Fat Pitch
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 05/30/2010 09:12 -0500Investor sentiment has turned bearish here, and this is our "fat pitch".
Investor Sentiment: It Would Be Better If...
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 05/23/2010 14:00 -0500This is my wish list and it would be better if....
Investor Sentiment: Neutral
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 05/16/2010 11:29 -0500After 10 weeks of being "all in", the bulls have retreated leaving investor sentiment with a neutral reading this week. This seems kind of odd as you would think that lower prices would be welcomed by those of bullish persuasion. Oh well! The "sure thing" has turned out not to be a "sure thing", and those who waited for the all clear are either back on the sidelines or have positions underwater.
Investor Sentiment: Time To Pay Attention!
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 05/02/2010 17:38 -0500After 8 months of indifference to the constant and persistent rise in stock prices, the "smart money" has finally turned bearish. It is time to pay attention.
Investor Sentiment: The Same Story
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 04/18/2010 20:56 -0500While the significance of Friday's high volume reversal has yet to be determined, the set up has the making of a market top - the majority of investors are poorly positioned and the precipitating event (i.e., the government's charges against Goldman Sachs) was not foreseen.
Investor Sentiment: Going Forward
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 03/21/2010 23:03 -0500This past week the S&P500 made a marginal new high at 1159. Since the last marginal new high 9 weeks ago, the S&P500 has made 1.2% and along the way it had a 7% draw down. In my opinion, that's the path to the poor house - not the end of the rainbow.
Investor Sentiment: Few Words Needed
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 03/14/2010 18:11 -0500With 3 out of 4 of our measures registering extreme readings, few words are needed to describe investor sentiment this week.
Investor Sentiment: What Are Your Expectations?
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 03/01/2010 00:35 -0500If insider expectations continue to remain low, then why should yours remain high?
Investor Sentiment: Bounce Mode
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 02/21/2010 20:16 -0500The investor sentiment data is consistent with a market that is in bounce mode.
Investor Sentiment: Finally Turns Neutral
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 02/15/2010 19:47 -0500Finally, the "Dumb Money" indicator has turned neutral after spending 28 consecutive weeks in the extreme bullish zone.
Investor Sentiment: Are We There Yet?
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 02/07/2010 17:16 -0500Nothing has changed from last week, last month, or even 4 months ago when the market was higher than it is now!!
Investor Sentiment: I Am Surprised
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 01/31/2010 21:30 -0500I must admit that I am surprised by the sentiment picture this week. I thought the indicators would reflect a less bullish posture amongst investors.
Investor Sentiment: Poorly Positioned
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 01/24/2010 17:21 -0500Make no mistake about it, investors remain poorly positioned to weather a sell off.
Investor Sentiment: They Don't Ring A Bell At The Top
Submitted by thetechnicaltake on 01/18/2010 15:51 -0500Complacency reigns as they don't ring a bell at the top.
