Living in Mountains, hunt, grow food, preserve food,preserve meat, alternative power supply, Use no fossil for heat, use wood. Have solar just for lights, PC's , etc. Working on full solar 120V. No cable, just internet for now.Use little electric as possible, also have generators and battery backup. Food storage for 2 years, hedge my money with silver and Gold. Still working on planting more fruit tress and blueberry, raspberry, bushes etc. Have weapons, bows, firearms, slingshots,trapping and fishing. Building a pond to stock and for water, also have well and 6 lakes within 7 miles.also made Parabolic mirrors for starting fires, cooking, heating water, etc.Too many small systems to sustain life off the grid, if the economy goes south and people have to fend for themselves. Please everyone who read this, please, please, even if you live in a city, you can prepare for this. I beg people please buy can, dry foods, etc. These foods have expiration dates from 3 years to 10. Rotate your stock. If nothing happens you have food to eat and will not have to spend fiat for a year or so. That's my opinion and I am sticking to it !
I lived in NYC for 40 years, bought some land many years ago always loved camping and the outdoors. Plus N Y's gun laws have changed for the worse, as N.J and Connecticut also. You can buy a hunting rifle or shotgun in the cities for hunting. It makes a great self defense weapon to.
No more advise, I am sure most of you are aware of this and more. I may not have the level of education as a lot of members, I imagine it shows in my writing skills !
I hope a situation as a total collapse of world economy never happens, but my heart and facts say another thing. I worry about my sons and grandson.This is my main drive to survive and have the means too, for them ! If it does not come to be, they will inherit my silver and everything else I use to hedge my monies.
