WB7: I have been reading about Trump all week. I have been reading about his bad hair, his ego, those crazy birthers, the feckless GOP, etc. It's funny how the media and the pundits can get so exercised about this and not focus on the real message behind the Trump phenomena.
How is it possible that "The Donald" of all people, is suddenly leading in some national polls and seriously entertaining a run? The same polls that show the rise of Donald, show desperation.
There are plenty of people in the country who are scared and/or hurting. Desperation is relative. Everyone chooses their own threshold. Whatever that threshold is, there are plenty of desperate people out there. And they are hungry for a real alternative. Not the same old red and blue bullshit constantly being served up.
Whether or not Trump is funny, scary, ridiculous, serious, the right guy or the wrong guy, he is not the real question. The real question is how or why is it that he is the only one who is capable of accurately reading the barometer of public sentiment?
Hint: It's not the birth certificate, it's the economy stupid!
