A "Furious" North Korea Threatens "Simultaneous Strike" On Guam By Mid-August

So much for Rex Tillerson's tepid attempt to de-escalate Trump's "fire and fury" statement.

Moments ago, the state run-KCNA news agency issued a statement in which it cited a commander of the Korean People's Army according to whom President Donald Trump's threat was a "load of nonsense," it failed to grasp the "grave situation," and said that "sound dialogue is not possible with such a guy bereft of reason and only absolute force can work on him," referring to Trump’s comments about unleashing "fire and fury."

Reaffirming its intentions to strike Guam, N. Korea said it is "seriously examining the plan for an enveloping strike at Guam through simultaneous fire of four Hwasong-12 intermediate-range strategic ballistic rockets in order to interdict the enemy forces on major military bases on Guam and to signal a crucial warning to the U.S." Noting that it is getting exhausted and angry with Trump's "load of nonsense", the General said that Trump's threats are "extremely getting on the nerves of the infuriated Hwasong artillerymen of the KPA."

"The KPA Strategic Force will finally complete the plan until mid August and report it to the commander-in-chief of the DPRK nuclear force and wait for his order" and N. Korea will closely watch U.S. "speech and behavior."

Turning the tables on Trump's statement that only harsh language can work on Kim Jong Un, N.Korea responded that "sound dialogue is not possible with such a guy bereft of reason and only absolute force can work on him."

The North Korean statement also says the military action its army "is about to take" will be effective for restraining America's "frantic moves" in and near the southern part of the Korean Peninsula. Hinting that Pyongyang will continue planning an attack, the General adds that "the military action the KPA is about to take will be an effective remedy for restraining the frantic moves of the U.S. in the southern part of the Korean peninsula and its vicinity. "

It said that North Korea will complete a plan by mid-August for the "historic enveloping fire at Guam," convey it to the commander in chief of its nuclear force and then "wait for his order." North Korea says it will "keep closely watching the speech and behavior of the U.S." The army General explains that "this unprecedented step is to give stronger confidence in certain victory and courage to the Korean people and help them witness the wretched plight of the U.S. imperialists."

And, in a surprising tangent, the statement goes so far as to give details of the flight plan its ICBMs will take, which will be right above Japan, hardly a detail that Tokyo will be excited about:

The Hwasong-12 rockets to be launched by the KPA will cross the sky above Shimane, Hiroshima and Koichi Prefectures of Japan. They will fly 3 356.7 km for 1 065 seconds and hit the waters 30 to 40 km away from Guam.

Finally, the KPA Strategic Force said it will finally complete the Guam attack plan by mid-August, so it may be the case that North Korea will launch one if not more Hwasong-12 rockets in the coming weeks.

* * *

The full KCNA statement is below:

Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) General Kim Rak Gyom, commander of the Strategic Force of the Korean People's Army, released the following statement on August 9:

As already clarified, the Strategic Force of the KPA is seriously examining the plan for an enveloping strike at Guam through simultaneous fire of four Hwasong-12 intermediate-range strategic ballistic rockets in order to interdict the enemy forces on major military bases on Guam and to signal a crucial warning to the U.S.

On Tuesday, the KPA Strategic Force through a statement of its spokesman fully warned the U.S. against its all-round sanctions on the DPRK and moves of maximizing military threats to it. But the U.S. president at a gold links again let out a load of nonsense about "fire and fury," failing to grasp the on-going grave situation. This is extremely getting on the nerves of the infuriated Hwasong artillerymen of the KPA.

It seems that he has not yet understood the statement.

Sound dialogue is not possible with such a guy bereft of reason and only absolute force can work on him. This is the judgment made by the service personnel of the KPA Strategic Force.

The military action the KPA is about to take will be an effective remedy for restraining the frantic moves of the U.S. in the southern part of the Korean peninsula and its vicinity.

The Hwasong artillerymen of the KPA Strategic Force are replete with a strong determination to fully demonstrate once again the invincible might of the force, which has developed into a reliable nuclear force of the Workers' Party of Korea and the world, strongest strike service, through the planned enveloping strike targeting the U.S. imperialist bases of aggression.

The Strategic Force is also considering the plan for opening to public the historic enveloping fire at Guam, a practical action targeting the U.S. bases of aggression.

This unprecedented step is to give stronger confidence in certain victory and courage to the Korean people and help them witness the wretched plight of the U.S. imperialists.

The Hwasong-12 rockets to be launched by the KPA will cross the sky above Shimane, Hiroshima and Koichi Prefectures of Japan. They will fly 3356.7 km for 1065 seconds and hit the waters 30 to 40 km away from Guam.

The KPA Strategic Force will finally complete the plan until mid August and report it to the commander-in-chief of the DPRK nuclear force and wait for his order.

We keep closely watching the speech and behavior of the U.S.

The bottom line is that while Trump expects Kim to relent, the North Korean leader clearly has no plans to do that, and demands the same from Trump, which also won't happen. How this crisis is resolved in a peaceful, diplomatic way under these conditions remains unknown, if not impossible.

I think this whole thing is about NK getting a boat load or two of food delivered.  The leader acts tough like it means something.  US leader is all negotiating genius when he desescalates the whole situation with a few ships of food.  Both tell their countries they are great and should have more power.  NK gets free food, US gov. gives away food that belonged to someone else.

NoKo isn't saying they will bomb Guam. Our media is misrepresenting them.

Their statement says they will fire 4 missiles at Guam which will land in the sea 40km from Guam.

The four missiles will crash into the sea North, East, West and South of Guam, hence the "enveloping fire" they talk about. The missiles will also flight directly over Japan in a 'shoot me down if you dare' game of chicken.

They are making a strong point.

Seems to be a somewhat misleading headline. If carried out as described, this won't be ON Guam, but rather on its far perimiter.A symbolic  "interdiction" by four missiles landing 30-40km away on either side of Guam in international waters ("enveloping"), presumably without warheads, or with conventional warheads. Toes a line, while looking tough.A symbolic "F You" move to the US to "give confidence" to the Nor K people.Really won't "interdict" (prohibit or forbid) ANYTHING by the US, but makes a good symbolic screw-you show. Shooting live nukes (they probably don't have enough miniturized warheads YET) is unlikely. That would be too provocative. This is getting almost too interesting....

Guam?  Why Guam? Oh, good.  They've got the patsy in place.  Now they just need a nuke.  Where's the easiest place to deliver a nuke?  A US base?  Boom!  False Flag start WW3 and Kim didn't even have to do anything. Look!  A nuke must have gone off.  The radiation is even detectable from Fukushima!  Errrr, sorry, now I've got my story lines crossed. Gotta admit, if the US bomb their own base for a FF attack then at least they don't have to worry that Kim's missile might miss. Deep State couldn't get their Syria war started so now they're trying for the NorK war first.  They'll come back for Syria and Iran later.  Well Trump, you tried.  Perhaps you bought the world an extra two weeks or so of peace, but now it seems like everything is back on schedule.

Can't we solve this problem diplomatically?  If only Vince Foster and Seth Rich could go and discuss these things with Kim over Pizza.  Perhaps they could resolve all their differences Awan at a time.  Nothing a small donation to the Clinton Foundation couldn't fix.  And if Kim ain't good for the money, perhaps Debbie WS could organize a little fundraiser on his behalf.

after constant lies from the legacy media and the dnc (and exaggerations and bombast from president trump) it is interesting to read nail head truth from someone in the dnc.  check out why the democrats can't give the voters what they want (it would piss off their donors).  nearly sounds like poe's law might be involved:https://failedevolution.blogspot.gr/2017/08/democrats-are-so-desperate-…

It's more than a semantic difference. IF the targeting is accurate enough by NK, the missiles will land in international waters and will not actually damage or destroy a US interest, thereby not creating a clear irrevocable provocation that MUST be answered with agressive force DIRECTLY at NK.  Missles landing in international waters are technically no different than other missle tests (except in the emotional statement of being in closer relative proximity to Guam). But, the US will still likely respond in some fashion, escalating the situation. In that sense, it seems calibrated to only give the middle finger to Trump and the US without backing the US firmly into a corner with no other way out than a direct military response on NK. Backing the US into a corner would ultimately be suicidal to NK.And based on NK's experience with the bombardment of Yeonpyeong Island in 2010, they probably calculate that an unarmed missile accidentilly landing on Guam would stand a good chance of not provoking a massive response. BUT that was during the Obama years. This is Trump, and that may prove to be a miscalculation on their part.

That's the foolish risk that this involves. But now that NK has stated more or less that it will be done, they may very well have "thrown their hat over the wall", and may go through with it.And the risk of guidance failure (probable with NK tech) is another reason not to have live warheads on the missles. If unarmed missels hit, that's an issue for sure, but not nearly as irrevocable an action as seting off a wide-area WMD or conventional weapon.

I'd eager the NK sites are carpeted/painted at least thrice in very quick succession; each wave of heavier ordinance that the previous.Maybe invade them from behind, from the north, from within China...  It will be easy enough to ascertain whether the civilians are from China or NK when the smoke clears.   Most will look like underfed hobbits and won't know shit but children's propaganda stories.Chinese .mil won't want the job that is going to be left to the Norky army ( clearing the whole fucking DMZ at gunpoint ) and so will march right the fuck back home when it's over if they are marched in...

And, just a quick glance at this confrms that *someone* is fibbing.NK says themselves in this article "four Hwasong-12 intermediate-range strategic ballistic rockets" ,which is rather different from what we are told elsewhere in the same article. And it seems they are not mentioning fitting them with any particular kind of warhead, which makes sense ifa) they haven't actually got any nukes smaller than a locomotiveb) they don't want to waste prototype/custom-built HE explosive charges just to scare some fish 30-40 km away from Guam.

Spot on! I think their Nuke program is WAAYYY overblown...meaning, their Nuke capability is probably 25-35% of what they are actually boasting. Now, conventional military, they have one of the largest Armies in the world. Rest assured, Trump knows this and has no intention of landing on the beaches of NK. He will fight them on his terms: 1) a swarm of EMP tipped cruise missiles to take out any and all electronics; 2) a swarm of conventional cruise missiles, to take out artillery and SAM sites and 3) bunker busters, MOABs and quite possibly nukes dropped by BONES and B-2s ...all within the first few minutes the operation.

“a fly attacking a flyswatter.”  The real beauty of this board is the people who care enough to bloviate obnoxiously or contribute concernedly. So… This is not spam… I have no relationship with the company but I have great fun killing flies with a shotgun. To do it right you have to get on top of them but because of their weird multi-faceted eyes and their sense of air pressure…  it is hard to swat them from above easily and accurately….. a shotgun is the best non-chemical solution and blasts them to bits. I would not mind using the .20 ga. ,  the 16 ga.  or the 12 ga.  except for the damage to the roof, walls, windows, pets and family members.…. …but I found an inexpensive  plastic shotgun  that uses table salt, keeps the hunting instinct intact indoors and does not do damage to more than the insect. ..go do some research  But maybe it you are Obama, Hillary, Pelosi,  Schumer or Durbin….. You could just snatch them with your tongue
