Shkreli Going To Jail After Judge Revokes Bail

“The most hated man in America” is going to prison over a joke.

Late Wednesday, Brooklyn Judge Kiyo Matsumoto ordered that former Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO Martin Shkreli’s bail be revoked after prosecutors claimed that a Facebook post published by Shkreli on Sept. 4 was tantamount to an invitation to assault on Hillary Clinton during her upcoming book tour. In a letter demanding a bail hearing, the former hedge fund manager was described as a “threat to the community.”

Matsumoto, who presided over Shkreli’s trial which resulted in convictions on three out of eight counts of wire and securities fraud, said she would not be swayed by the defense’s argument that the post was a harmless joke and that Shkreli didn’t intend to harm anybody. Instead, the Judge revoked Shkreli’s $5 million bail and ordered him directly remanded to jail pending his sentencing, according to the Daily News. No date has been set for his sentencing.

Shkreli told the judge, prosecutors and secret service agents who asked to interview him about the post that it was intended as satire. In the original post, Shkreli offered $5,000 for a strand of Hillary Clinton’s hair, claiming that he would have a DNA analysis done to confirm “that the Clinton Foundation is willing to KILL to protect its secrets.”

See the post in question below:

Since being unceremoniously thrust into the public eye in late 2015 when he was labeled “the most hated man in the world” after his company, Turing Pharmaceuticals, hiked the price of Daraprim, a drug that treats toxoplasmosis, by 5,000%, Shkreli has made a habit of publicly antagonizing lawmakers, prosecutors and judges. True to form, Shkreli took to Facebook to blast prosecutors immediately after the hearing.

Notably, Shkreli is being thrown in jail one day before the close of Shkreli’s auction of the only copy of the Wu-Tang Clan “Once Upon A Time In Shaolin” which he purchased for $2 million in 2015. Bidding has topped out at $1 million in recent days.

In their initial request, prosecutors tried to paint Shkreli as a serial harasser of women, citing his ban from Twitter earlier this year, allegedly for harassing Lauren Duca, a freelance writer who had authored an opinion essay that criticized President-elect Trump. The day before his verdict, Shkreli wrote in a Facebook post: "trial's over tomorrow, b****. Then if I'm acquitted, I get to f*** Lauren Duca."

Shkreli edited the Facebook post after it was first reported in the media, clarifying that the post was meant as satire. Though he says he agrees with Democratic policies, Shkreli sided with President Donald Trump during the election after expressing a frustration with PC culture.

In his sentencing, Shkreli could face as much as 20 years in prison, and although a much shorter sentence - if any - had been expected, today's latest snafu may have just cost Martin dearly.

Martin Shkreli claims his company will give the drug to you for free if you don't have insurance to pay for it. 70% of all the Daraprim produced supposedly goes toward these free users. The price hike to insurance companies is supposedly for developing an improved version of the drug. Daraprim might save your life, but it also might kill you while it's doing it's work. Daraprim is an old drug from 1953 that NOBODY was working on improving or even producing a generic version because the market was considered too small to care about.FYI, this drug IS supposedly available as a generic in India, costing as little as 0.05 to 0.10 USD per dose. Thank you FDA for "protecting" the people so well!

Shkreli is going to jail because he is a highly intelligent wild card that the DC Swamp cannot control.Despite his quirky personality, he is extremely intelligent where it comes to pharmaceuticals. No one really understands how his mind works, only that it perceives things that others do not.His mind could make them a fortune and open up all kinds of doors but he won't play ball. That might be a problem to the Big Pharma crowd. They could not nail him through the court so they got him on this stupid hair joke.Granted, it was stupid of him to even imply going near Hellish, but the sequencing part is interesting. He knows a lot about sequencing, and attracted the attention of weirdo .gov scientists who would just love to compare notes. He will be jailed and the CIANSAFBI, etc., will try to cut a deal with him.His freedom in exchange for playing ball with them.Shkreli doesn't really care about them but for now they have the upper hand. But still they do not know what to make of him.Too bad he joked about Hellish's scraggly hair and gave them an excuse to pick him up.

The .gov snitches must be bored so they are on this board furiously downvoting anything that questions their schemes. And they are probably getting .gov overtime pay, too.It is patently obvious that the wrong people are getting arrested and the most destructive psychopaths are walking around free and getting great PR from their MSM love slaves. Shkreli had better be careful with his antics in jail, or the .gov screwballs will torment him because they can.

I don't know what to make of him either.  He is definitely intelligent and a wildcard.  He seems to have a couple other interesting traits that are hard to define or find words for.  His eyes are intense as all hell.  He doesn't seem to have a whole lot of empathy.  He isn't afraid to try anything or take anybody on.  He also has no filter.  Combined that's probably their problem. He's dangerous.  Fearless + no empathy (or little) + doesn't fall in line + holds grudges + has no filter + highly intelligent.  He may also know more than they are comfortable with. He has some of the qualities that Trump has but he is probably far more intelligent.  People like that might be pieces of shit but when properly motived they can do some real damage.  If he want's to get at them he will find a way.  If they are a threat to him he has motive.  So they muzzle his ass and they probably will try to make a deal with him but they might find that he cannot be contained.

Shkreli really needs to watch his step.He will be observed and discussed by .gov screwballs 24/7 with and without his knowledge until they find his Achilles' Heel.He is a unique subject for their study and they have wanted to corner him for a while, but he was too elusive and they couldn't quite do it.On a risable excuse they picked him up, and will deftly poke and prod until they find a weak spot. The fact that he is so unimpressed with them and their fancy titles must irk them no end.He is not rude to them, just unimpressed, as though they were annoying, noisy neighbors or pestilent bureaucrats.

America is create mythical concept of "price gouging". It is funny to watch. Government is create monopoly and massive barrier to market entry and then is punish at random company that is exercise market opportunity. Recently is heard in Texas of lock up for seller of water for charge high price during hurricane. But in shortage and scarcity, price is go up, no? Maybe next time there is no water because of dictatorial constraint on market - that is make citizenry more happy than someone is make few extra dollar on bottle of water? Maybe next time you are anaphylactic shock there is no Epipen at ANY price? Oy vey, socialist statism is living and well in USSA! Doh!

His fortune--and infamy--made by upping the price of a toxoplasmosis treatment. That's an interesting disease that sounds a whole lot worse for most people than it is.Many people are infected and never know it. If you are healthy, you won't even have a symptom. For those who fear the deadly cat shit curse, it only is a vector for disease from birth to about six months in cats when they may shed the nasties IF they themselves are infected. After that they can have it and it doesn't make any difference, you won't get it even if you like to play tiddlywinks with cat turds. I'm sure the prosecutors made it sound like hemorrhagic fever's first cousin. To me, Shkreli is like tmosley. He grows on you after a while.

I never did understand why he wanted a sample of Hitlery's hair. Was he wanting to establish a DNA profile with it? If so, for what purpose? Perhaps he was trying to prove that she is really a reptillian pretentending to be a human being. Nevertheless, I think it would be far more interesting to obtain a DNA sample from the former President Zero. I.E. a discarded cigarrette butt or discarded bubblegum. With a little extra effort, you might be able to prove that his real father was the Commie: Frank Marshal Davis.
