Visualizing The Massive Rise In UK MP Security Costs Since Jo Cox' Murder

Since the murder of MP Jo Cox last June as she was campaigning in her Batley and Spen constituency, the total expenses claimed by MPs for security assistance have increased on a massive scale.

You will find more statistics at Statista

As Statista's Martin Armstrong details, from 2010/11 to 2015/16, the mean annual total was £73 thousand. In 2016/17 this rose to an astounding £2.55 million.

The figures, newly released by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) reflect the reaction to the shocking attack.

In response, the IPSA has made it easier to get expenses, such as reinforced windows and bomb-proof letter boxes, signed off.

Fucking bullshit. It's since we imported 100,000s of potential terrorists which the sociopathic MPs know are a menace, so they get more security and English people get stabbed.

Since when do our own constructs, bite the hand that created and feeds them?Logic dictates the Muzzie terrorists would go after the politicians, the Think-Tank policy wonks and the talking heads like Melanie Phillips et al, who advocate the destruction of Muslim lands, the plunder of their oil and hydro carbons, and the support of regimes like Saudi Arabia, despite them holding Lebanese PM Hariri against his will, their war on Yemen, women oppressed, funding Islamic terrorism around the world, funding ISIS, their war on Syria etc. I wonder why they don't? When has any politician in Europe been targeted, let alone attacked by these Muzzie terrorists? Yes, I'm a fellow Brit and we the public do face getting stabbed, but not the fucking politicians. This entire war on terror is a joke and the pattern is clear. When a politician anywhere in the west, is attacked by a Muzzie extremist, let me know and I'll endorse increase spending on protection, until then its a fucking PR exercise and so far removed from the truth, only the general public will believe it, as the sheeple are trained to do. lolThere is no threat apart from the threat/blowback we created. Allowing Saudi Arabia to fund all sorts of terrorist bullshit around the world and turn a blind eye because we valued oil and building contracts more? The lines of good guys vs bad guys gets fucking blurred. We could have ended it, but money and energy security mattered more.

And if they did and left the population alone, grinding the axe against those who support their suffering I would not mind so much, actually if at all.No terrorism on the government, it would be so easy to do if you think about it ... suggest the instigator is state sponsored terrorism and somebody wearing a cloth over their head and long beard is the image of choice.I mean imagine a politician doing it for themselves ... they just hide behind the deceit.

To Hell, I hear what you are saying. I try and stay away from all British media because you do not know whom is paying for the story or who is getting a blowy. I have not watched the BBC for about 10 years now and ITV are just as bad. I despise that I am forced to pay for my own atagonist. Did you hear that they tried to close down RT Bank account, one of those banks where the UK Govt is a major share holder. There is so much misinformation at the moment and why I think it is happening is they are trying to cover up the oncoming collapse and all those in power are trying to save their skins. This includes the NHS, companys with TV\Radio broadcasting rights, newspapers etc etc. When you look at the Europe immigration issue. Why would the British government let in 3 million eastern Europeans when we have a housing crsis? Why would you let in millions of Muslims into Christian Europe and the only conclusion I could come up with is they need more drones to cover their pension commitments. Germany's demographics are just aweful, Spains pension fund will collapse next year. The worse thing though is I believe that soon you will see the collapse of sovereign bonds in western Europe and this will set off a Tsunami through out the world and this is when you will see the public flip to one of deep distrust towards the state and you will see much civil unrest. The elites are busy trying to start wars round the globe to divert our attention. When events happen like this the establish knows the people normally throw them out and their cronies by burning down their buildings and businesses.

Simple solution to that. Work for the people who voted for you, not the ones who fill brown paper envelopes with money.I'll point out that Cox was shot with a home made pipe pistol. Made from plumbing parts. Reality is that guns are simple things, easy to make and plumbing parts are easy to turn into guns. I mean you can make a combustion chamber and barrel just by screwing 2 pipes together. You don't even need commercial ammo either. Propane, or even electrolysed water make fine propellants. Here's a "spud" gun that hits about as hard as a .357 magnum.

Interesting point ... always felt a docile homogenous population once expereinced the true violence the little island mind had thereby reducing the danger to politicians. Nope they threw it out with the batyh war, peace and security .... welcome to my world. Even in their own home they can no longer be safe.So do they have drone defence yet to deal with weaponised drones?

The murder was a complete set up. Note the number of "terror" attacks in the run up to an election to the number of attacks when there is no election and you see how bullshit they all are.

How much did they spike after Airey Neave's murder in 1979 ?  or Rev Robert Bradford 1981 ? or Ian Gow 1990 ?Why is Jo Cox so special ? is it because she and her husband worked for Gordon bRown and were buddies with Obama ?

It is what "munchausen Liberals" do.Support war in foreign countries by not saying anything. Then generate the argument to house all displaced refugees. So you to can be a liberal, all goody-goody, yet do not challenge the warmongers.2 logical choices here, go after the warmongers or the liberals to break the self fulfilling prophecy of more war, more deaths, more people fleeing for liberals to have "victims to save".

She was a stupid bitch. She represented an area that was BREXIT by 65% and she is going round telling people how stupid they are and calling them racists. Hey I am not saying that Thomas should of killed her, all I am saying is that I understand ;-)I wrote to my MP asking why I couldnt afford to take my son to see his grandparents and yet you are taking MY money and sending it to Poland so they have lovely new airports, anyone been to Gatwick lately. Take a look at our roads, A&E's closing down. A friend of mine was being assulted from her ex boyfriend and it took the Police 40 minutes to get there. Its a joke.I predict 2011 MkII before 2020

Not my government ..If they are not going to represent the population then what did you expect but alot of anger?Rising too with May's UK indentured servitude to the EU.All this on top of expenses too and hyppocritical pussy grabbing in parliament. All politicans security should be their own cost for the little shits they are.PS Bomb proof windows and letterboxes is a joke anyway you need to watch the Italian job ...

GreatUncle Tue, 11/21/2017 - 08:27 Permalink

Who needs a gun. you could easily make an appointment to see your MP in person at a local constituency surgery, and then beat them to death with a brick, chairs, computer monitors etc. in the comfort of their own office.
