Dubai Security-Chief Unleashes Tweet-Storm Demanding Bombing Of Al-Jazeera

On Friday, Dubai Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan unleashed a tweet-storm to millions of his followers - calling for the bombing of Al Jazeera, the Qatar-based media network. Khalfan’s tweet-storm was in response to the horrific terrorist attack in northern Sinai that killed more than 300 people, including at least two dozen children.

Interesting enough, Al Jazeera was the only media outlet to report on their own bomb-threat as most outlets fell silent. Here is how Al Jazeera interpreted Khalfan’s tweets,

“The alliance must bomb the machine of terrorism … the channel of ISIL, al-Qaeda and the al-Nusra front, Al Jazeera the terrorists,” the former police chief and now head of security in the Emirate told his 2.42 million followers on the social media site.

“For how long will they [Al Jazeera] continue to tamper with the security of Egypt and the Arab world?” he tweeted.

Khalfan then posted an image of Al Jazeera’s iconic logo superimposed in front of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, head of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) group, former al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, and 91-year-old Islamic theologian Yusuf al-Qaradawi.

In particular, one of Khalfan’s tweets translated on twitter and said, “presumably include Faisal al-Qassem Ahmed Mansour and all broadcasters Al Jazeera terrorism on the list of terrorists”.

Yaser Abuhilalah, managing director of Al Jazeera Arabic, released a statement in response to Khalfan’s tweet-storm,

What Dhahi Khalfan is doing is incitement to terrorism. Terrorism is not just limited to committing a crime, but any act or statement that paves the way for a terrorist act or incites it, and incitement to terrorism is terrorism itself.

Abuhilalah added

“he is using a moment of anger and grief over the terrible attack in Sinai to fuel his hatred against Al Jazeera.”

The campaign against Qatar started to intensify on June 05, when UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Bahrain cut ties with the country, accusing it of supporting “terrorism”, a claim that Doha has denied. Tensions erupted again in September, as Saudi Arabia and the UAE  considered military action in Qatar, but war efforts were thwarted by President Trump.

Aggression towards Qatar by Arab countries have primarily been in response to the country’s support of Iran.

In July, countries in the region served Qatar with a list of 13 demands and one of them stated:  “shut down Al Jazeera and its affiliate stations.”

As for the events leading up to Khalfan’s tweet-storm about bombing Al Jazeera - it really comes at no surprise. War in the Middle East is pending.

It illustrates perfectly and sadly why nation-building in the ME was doomed to failure from the beginning, with many wasted lives lost trying to accomplish the impossible. No tolerance for a free press equals no democracy.

In the scheme of how things actually work there are exactly two options (as opposed to how they should work):

  1. The government (arguably "democratic") controls the press
  2. The press (completely oligarchic) controls the government

And the reason for this is that the masses can always be manipulated by the press to do its bidding, and therefore the government can be systematically undermined and controlled by the press in a "democracy".In theory, if the press were "free" and widely disbursed (i.e., the press itself were "democratic", rather than oligarchic), with strict direct or indirect ownership concentration limits, one could envision an independent press that would act as a competitor with the government, providing missing option "3" above. But a long time ago the Yahwist supremacists gathered all of the media in their grip of which they have not let go.For this reason I do not object to Russia, Iran and others fighting the global oligarchs grabbing control of its mass media back from the oligarchs - so long as they leave the internet uncensored so that the intelligentsia (as opposed to the sheeple) can have access to a wide array of views - the full marketplace of ideas.  For the average Joe, however, the so-called "marketplace of ideas" is the actual "center for structured indoctrination".

So some Dubai official mouths off on Twitter. Why is this on ZeroHedge? How is this ZH-newsworthy. There are any number of other officials making their own statements on Twitter. Why report this? What is the agenda driving ZH’s selection of what’s fit to print?

I’ve been reading ZH ever since 2009. It used to be the most amazing red pill site on financial news. It’s reporting had a worthy mission — to open people’s eyes, to educate, to throw light on the monetary system scam. I have every right to criticize ZH since it appears to have lost its way from its original mission. So now, what’s the mission behind the reporting now?

Well my guess is, seeing how "fuck the FED" and  fuck Bernanke, Yeller etc. has fallen somewhat flat (to no avail) and the FED , et al , money printing central having re-puffed everything to super stellar new improved heights, having created bigger and better magnificient bubbles, greatly punishing it's third class passengers, the ship has largely been abandoned now with buy the dip, don't fight the fed "strategy", as the band strangely plays "Nearer, My God, to Thee" , in attempt to stem any unfortunate panic that may arise from any thought of a final MF Global, ENRON, Le Man like curtain call, awaiting the breathtaking plunge into the icy Atlantic, or simply dumbstruck as the ship itself cracks in half ..Why God himself couldn't sink THIS "market ! "Now enjoy the rest of the show!

This article perfectly demonstrates why so many people believe the next huge war will occur in the ME.  Unfortunately, no one has any idea how many nuclear devices are held by any one country or nameless terror group.  I would simply suggest that everyone note the timber and register of the directive.  I've said again and again that the philosophy of an "eye for an eye" will lead these countries to totally exterminate themselves with the enormous help of Western elite power...who will have so badly misunderestimated these groups they think they control.

Al Jizz is not the problem. It's the Zionists. Why does ISIL/S attack a mosque in Egypt, but never anything in Israel.

Besides everyone should know by now who is behind ISIS/L.

We have gotten to the point where we need to arm the likes of Iran and Qatar with nukes to stabilze the ME. If your response to coverage you don't care for is to bomb then all countries need the ability to defend themselves. Every conutry that has given up their nukes have run into problems while Israel, the biggest recipient of US miliatry aid sits on 200 nukes.
