Many of the people I encounter in my daily life understand that the Chinese Communist Party is actively suppressing freedom in China, but few seem to understand the true extent to which this authoritarianism reigns. What’s worse, even fewer members of the general public today understand that US tech companies are actually helping China suppress freedoms.

Why are supposedly freedom-supporting capitalist companies embarking on projects of venture tyranny?
