The fog of war, coupled with output sourced from multiple propaganda machines, makes it difficult to determine which side has the upper hand in any conflict. In the wake of the recent changes on the ground in Syria, particularly Turkey’s Operation Peace Spring, Syria’s chaotic political and economic environment has once again come into the limelight.
