12 American Warships, Including One Aircraft Carrier, And One Israeli Corvette, Cross Suez Canal On Way To Red Sea And Beyond

Tyler Durden's picture

Arabic newspaper Al-Quds al-Arabi reports that 12 American warships, among which one aircraft carrier, as well as one Israeli corvette, and possibly a submarine, have crossed the Suez Canal on their way to the Red Sea. Concurrently, thousands of Egyptian soldiers were deployed along the canal to protect the ships. The passage disrupted traffic into the manmade canal for the "longest time in years." The immediate destination of the fleet is unknown. According to Global Security, two other carriers are already deployed in the region, with the CVN-73 Washington in the western Pacific as of May 26, and the CVN-69 Eisenhower supporting operation Enduring Freedom as of May 22. It is unclear at first read what the third carrier group may be, but if this news, which was also confirmed by the Jerusalem Post and Haaretz, is correct, then the Debka report about a surge in aircraft activity in the Persian Gulf is well on its way to being confirmed. There has been no update on the three Israeli nuclear-armed subs that are believed to be operating off the coast of Iran currently.

From the original article, translated by Google and Zero Hedge:

Shipping sources in the city of Suez on Friday have said that 12 U.S. warships, including a giant Israeli warship, have crossed the Suez Canal in the early hours of dawn on Friday, en route to the Red Sea coast, at the same time as the channel has seen large numbers of soldiers. According to sources and eyewitnesses 'The Suez Canal traffic was disrupted for hours in the morning during the crossing of U.S. Navy, which includes a giant aircraft carrier, soldiers, ships and infantry, armor and ammunition, coming from the Mediterranean Sea on its way to the Red Sea'. The sources revealed that many merchant ships were disrupted outside the channel until the completion of the Navy passage, which observers said was one of the longest since several years. The sources added that the movement of fishing boats in the Bitter Lakes and Lake Gator and navigation between the two shores of the Suez Canal over the Peace Bridge and ferries of individuals and vehicles may be stopped completely.

Egypt deployed thousands of soldiers on both sides of the Suez Canal for insurance; witnesses said 'The Israeli warships were seen among the U.S. warships but official sources have not confirmed the information'.

Maj. Gen. Amin Radi Secretary of the Committee on National Security in the People's Assembly made an exclusive statement to to Al Quds Al Arabi, that the "decision to declare war on Iran is not easy, but Israel was known for her Beslvha and Arabdtha may provide to the war in order to maintain its leadership in the region as nuclear weapons are the only deterrent."

Radhi said, 'should be the scourge of Israel tend to be left a free hand should be forced by the international community to disarm its nuclear weapons before calling for strike on Iran'.  In a related development, the opposition warned from various that the Egyptian regime that allows a repeat of the historica mistake when opening the Suez Canal to cross the fleet-American attack on Iraq in this context, Abdullah said Alsnanwi editor of 'Arab Nazareth' for 'Al Quds Al Arabi' that 'the Egyptians will not stand idly by this time they see the system of government in a major scandal in coordination with Israel and America to open the Suez Canal to attack Iran and Islam." He expressed surprise at the crossing of a huge number of American battleships, along with an Israeli sub carrying nuclear warheads, and wondered, what is the secret channel those huge numbers of warships to the Gulf, and he believed the difficulty to enter the U.S. facing big problems in Afghanistan and Iraq to open a front with Iran.

For his part, the leader of the Brotherhood warned of the consequences of a strike on Iran, stressing that accept the Arab and Muslim world such a thing is unacceptable and should not be silent if the masses bowed to the will of the governments in Washington and Tel Aviv.

The international media has pointed to the direction of an Israeli nuclear submarine model 'Dolphin' carry nuclear warheads and warships to the Gulf region in light of tensions with Iran.

With Iran warned Friday that any act against the interests of the Iranian people, legal and legitimate will result in legal response and appropriate action by Iran, said U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Thursday that U.S. intelligence that indicates that it is likely to possess Tehran the ability to attack Europe ' tens or even hundreds of rockets' taken into account in the Government's decision to modify the Obama system for missile defenses.  The United States has cited the growing threat of Iranian missiles when it announced in September (September) last plans to integrate missile defenses at sea and ashore in the member states of NATO in Europe and around the States in what was dubbed 'adaptive phased approach'. Gates said in a hearing on Congress 'among the elements of information that contributed to the decision to approach the interim adjustment to recognize that if Iran actually launched a rocket attack on Europe would not be just a missile or two or a few. He added, 'but is likely to be attacked with a barrage of missiles because of its potential to deal with tens or even hundreds of rockets'.

We have submitted a query to Hillary Clinton for confirmation, in advance of her meeting with Israel defense minister Ehud Barak, who flew in to the US on Saturday for meetings with the former first lady, as well as Robert Gates and Chairman of the JCS Mike Mullen. And yes, the Joint Chiefs of Staff don't really get involved in high level "diplomacy" all that often.

Update: it appears the Aircraft Carrier crossing the Suez is almost certainly CVN-75 Harry Truman, which until recently was in the Mediterranean according to Stratfor. According to Wikipedia, "the super carrier can accommodate approximately 80 aircraft." For some more curious information on the Truman, click here.

For your information, most of the oil out of the Middle East goes to Europe and the far east, such as Japan.

Primary sources of U.S. oil are west Africa, Venezuela, and Mexico.

The U.S. Navy is in the Middle East to protect the sea lanes and the stability of the regimes there...such as the Saudis and the UAE.  Don't like it?  Vote to change it.  That's the way it is.

The great naval tactician, Capt. Obvious, once told me that Submarines have a lowered tactical advantage if their presence is known.
Israel plans to act unilaterally against Iran, and the US is positioning to prevent it.
I suspect that the US put that ship to cover the gulf airspace and with that captain make it less likely that the Israelis will sink it - on my premise that the Israel put those subs in the water and made their position known to deter the US and not to intimidate Iran.
Brzezinski's chess game is going well.

You make really good points. It is my opinion that the worst thing that could happen to the United States at this point is for Israel to attack Iran.  It isn’t the same as when Israel went in to attack a position in Syria.  This Iranian nuclear confrontation is on the front burner throughout the world.  An Israeli attack would be a horrible problem for the U.S.

Excellent comment, Crummy.  You don’t show your submarines as to location unless you are saber rattling.

Paranoid? Pffft. Dead wrong, maybe, but paranoid isn't really a fitting description.
US authority in this matter is being challenged by Israeli initiative, so we move in with a carrier to lock down the airspace.
Learn a bit of the US position in the history of the region, namely the protection deals and cease fire agreements the US made with Syria before the Israelis took Golan and prior to the Sabra and Shatila massacre that the IDF took the initiative to go back on for them and you might have a better understanding of not only our place in the Israel/Palestine situation but also the United States place in the world as an underwriter of peace. The 30 year treasury doesn't sell itself, you know.

Anyway, I guess we'll see how off the charts I am. You might need to buy some bigger charts once this plays out.

The article is half alarmist bullshit and half serious stuff. You can count the ships and determine the type...not the cargo. "Infantry and armor"??????? Seems the Gator Navy is all accounted for, according to the table you published. And if you want to send an amphibious force there you need much more than a M.A.U. You need a full brigade at least....That needs a good number of Amphibious ships. 12 ships is more or lees the escort and logistic complement of a Nimitz class going in an area of operations that can get hotter than normal.

Anyway, when you put 3 supercarrier groups in an area, you send a "strong signal"....that for sure.

OB didn't look like an ARG, but did look like CV battle group.  "Suspect" a sub? they don't leave home without at least one, prob. more or they will close at entrance to SoH to get into the Gulf.  Messy to deconflict the whole situation with orange Iranian Kilos and maybe greens running around.

Sub vs. Sub == Spy vs. Spy

Whole article overblown, to whose benefit?

- Ned

p.s. Al Gray got rid of the "Amphibious" and replaced it with "Expeditionary", so they are now MEUs, MEBs, MEFs.  Don't know where they'd land; Q'shim?  Too close.

No big deal. Happens all the time. Probably just getting ready to rotate the group which has been on station for a year out of the there. If not then the stories about positioning 4 carrier battle groups near there is true and Israel has tipped the administration off tha they are about to eliminate the Iranian problem.

Like I said, no big deal.

I'm glad we have people like LSH who know every fucking thing about nothing and get 99% of their news from the ghost of Art Bell, Pravda.RU, Rense, and other such reliable sources. Get a fucking life. This is not a big deal unless the almighty joke of US action actually happens, which it will not. Any dumb ass knows that the sanctions will NEVER work and never have had a major impact for a decade now as the majority of the materials needed by the Iranians for their program were tran-shipped via the UAE and Dubai from Pakistan and North Korea. You need to get your head out of your ass if you think the US will launch an offensive operation with Presidente Pussy in Chief running this show. Only Israel can and will and IMHO, it is no big deal because the message has been telegraphed for 4 years now that if the US did not solve this problem, THEY WOULD.

Your knowledge of history needs some work.

What no words about the Italians? Who were they allied with?

How about many of the Romanians, Ukranians, Serbians..etc?

How about the 250,000 German Jews who joined the German army and fought against the US and Britain?

The Irgun in Palestine were armed by the Nazis and murdered hundreds of British soldiers.

The Nationalist Chinese were armed by booth the US and the Nazis. Crazy huh...

How about the Swiss? The "pawn" shop and private bank for the Nazis.

How about Wall Street and the Bush Cabal? Prescott Bush (W's Grandad) was a bagman for the elite on Wall Street. In the 30's and early 40's, Wall Street helped Germany fund it's war buildup AND it's war. Prescott Bush also helped the Nazis launder their stolen loot with help from Wall Street and the Swiss. Bush continued his actions from the 1930's into the 1950s. The goal of Wall Street was to destroy the British and French empires and take over the world commodities trde

Speaking about those paragons of virtue, the English, they also backed the Nazis early. The goal of the Brits was to topple the Bolsheviks with the help of Germany. A little historical tidbit showing how nice the Brits treated their brown and black subjects. On numerous occasions when crop production in Britain fell, the Brits stole huge amounts of grain from Africa and India. Over 20 million Africans and Indians starved to death.

Of course that brings us back to the Americans. Over 500,000 Philipinos were killed during the American attack and occupation of the Islands. The Japanese promised the Philipinos freedom from the whiteman, but as is the case with all imperial nations, they lied. After the war, the US killed another 50,000 Philipinos. Their crime? They did not want to pay back rent to absentie landlords. They also made the serious mistake of wanting land reform since only a few families owned every square inch of the islands and treated everyone like serfs. Land reform is a communist plot.

Hdawg, I think it was to insure no action against the Israeli corvette, plus to transition the fleet into the Arabian Sea. If we maintain them at station, it is to cover or prevent action against tankers AFTER and Israeli strike. And the Israelis have already made it known that if we don't do it, they will. It's no big deal either way, IMHO. Those who have followed the information flow for the last four years knew this day was coming. The Israelis will do what we won't and the Russians shall profit handsomely as a result.

Read the report. Everything Israel is doing follows the play book used by the whites in South Africa, Rhodesia, Kenya....etc. We all know how that worked out :-).

Worst of all is the cash burn by the Israelis to keep the Palestinians virtual prisoners and support the huge military machine. The Israeli economy is tiny yet it has a military sized for an economy hundreds of times larger. Once Uncle Sugar cuts back the freebees, the party is over. In an attempt to stave off collapse, the Israelis will greatly increase illegal weapons shipments to the Chinese and others and use nuclear blackmail against the US. What the Israeli leaders will not be able to easily control is the mass migration of Jews who can emigrate overseas. Over 1 million Israelis have a Russian passport. Miliions of others have passports from around the world.

No. I thought Hillary received a consolation prize from Bill. See while she squeezed his balls in a vice like claw for publicly embarrassing the family with a little fat slobbery Jewish chick, the slick one was forced to make promises. The main one being she would eventually be placed in his job.

Well that fell apart when she proved to be less likable than the Bride of Frankenstein. Less shagable too, even the Lesbians changed their minds.

Bill and his cronies forced some behind the scenes power plays, Biden, Rahm, and Hillary for Sec State. She gets some job experience and still can run even when old and feeble minded like Reagan.

I would say in eight to twelve years after 2013 expect Hillary in office, if there still is one.

Joe Lieberman CNN 9:14am EDT
State of the Union with Candy Crowley
Obama wants to have the power to shut down internet, in the event of a national emergency situation (as determined by the administration).  Let us examine this request for a minute, basically the administration would like the power to shutdown the most powerful platform for free speech so by proxy the administration would like to have the power to restrict/shutdown Free Speech.

So why does President need this power, Oh well, there are many reasons such as the vulnerability of financial data, defense establishment, etc. suffice it to say in the greater interest of the nation.

What one should question is, what is the point of such a nation, that restricts Free Speech, and more importantly, how is it that a nation that was founded on the principles of liberty and happiness, with Free Speech being one of its greatest strengths, has become a nation that would like remake itself in the image of CHINA?

Now to Senator Lieberman:

"Right now China can disconnect parts of the internet we should have that here too"

Senator Lieberman that is why people prefer US and its democratic values over China and its communist ideals.  I would suggest that you try to educate yourself on China.

I had assumed that a senator of your standing was aware of the fact that there is no concept of free speech in China, the state controls every aspect of its citizen’s life, even to the size of one’s family (not so long ago), but then again elected representatives like yourself never fail to surprise me, with your knowledge or the lack thereof

Without getting into a flow blown essay, let me just say that Lieberman-Obama-politicians (both R &D) are attacking the most fundamental right of free speech when they request the people to grant them the power to shutdown the most powerful platform for free speech- the internet.  Of all the people Obama should know, for he leveraged internet the most to get him to the White House, but then again maybe realizes how powerful the net is and hence this need to control .

Make no mistake this is a veiled attack on Free Speech and ZH reader know this, Just think about it, if things get really bad as discussed on ZH on many occasions, internet is one thing we definitely need and more importantly websites like ZH to organize and protect our rights.

I think I speak for the community here, when I say that, the Internet belongs to the people not the government and we do not want US government or Obama’s boot on its neck.

Obama Information Czar Cass Sunstein in a 2001 book, Republic.com, argued that the Internet may weaken democracy because it allows citizens to isolate themselves within groups that share their own views and experiences, and thus cut themselves off from any information that might challenge their beliefs, a phenomenon known as cyber balkanization. -- Wikipeida

In THE CREEPY MINDSET BEHIND CASS SUNSTEIN’S CREEPY PROPOSAL Glenn Greenwald wrote:  "Cass Sunstein has long been one of Barack Obama's closest confidants…  Sunstein is currently Obama's head of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs where, among other things, he is responsible for 'overseeing policies relating to privacy, information quality, and statistical programs.'

"In 2008, while at Harvard Law School, Sunstein co-wrote a truly pernicious paper proposing that the U.S. Government employ teams of covert agents and psuedo-'independent' advocates to 'cognitively infiltrate' online groups and websites – as well as other activist groups – which advocate views that Sunstein deems 'false conspiracy theories' about the Government. This would be designed to increase citizens' faith in government officials and undermine the credibility of conspiracists. The paper's abstract can be read, and the full paper downloaded, here.

"Sunstein advocates that the Government's stealth infiltration should be accomplished by sending covert agents into 'chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups.' He also proposes that the Government make secret payments to so-called 'independent' credible voices to bolster the Government's messaging… This program would target those advocating false 'conspiracy theories,' which they define to mean: 'an attempt to explain an event or practice by reference to the machinations of powerful people, who have also managed to conceal their role.'

"…Covert government propaganda is exactly what Sunstein craves…He acknowledges that some 'conspiracy theories' previously dismissed as insane and fringe have turned out to be entirely true… Given that history, how could it possibly be justified for the U.S. Government to institute covert programs designed to undermine anti-government 'conspiracy theories,' discredit government critics, and increase faith and trust in government pronouncements? Because, says Sunstein, such powers are warranted only when wielded by truly well-intentioned government officials who want to spread The Truth and Do Good… "

To all the conspiracists who think Jews rule the world, I think you are nuts.  Think about it.  Jews represent 0.1% (.001; 1/10th of 1 percent) of the world's population at best.  And from what I can tell, they don't all agree.  What magical power do they have, could they have, over the other 99.9 percent of the world's population?  It's ridiculous.  In my opinion it appears Israel is at the beck and call of, and extremely dependent on the USA.  Israel rarely makes a move without orders or okays from Washington.

Let’s move on before we lose sight of reality in favor of illusions. -- Island

Illusions?  A superpower was made to attack a sovereign nation that posed little threat...death toll of innocents, a million and counting.  Isn’t it time we stop “moving on” and face the reality that the Zionist hammerlock has on U.S. foreign policy?  We ignore the realities of the “special relationship” of Zionism at our peril.

Because of the concept of Zionism, defined as the establishment of a Jewish homeland, Israel garners principal loyalty to its government from many Jews in other countries, 80% of whom live in the U.S. and Israel. Zionism defines Israel as more than a nation of Israelis, but as the homeland of all Jews, regardless of the country where they are now citizens.

Chaim Weizmann, by far the most dominate force in persuading Britain at the 1919 Paris Peace Conference to declare a Jewish homeland in Palestine, severely criticized Jews in Europe for wasting their work and loyalty as citizens of other countries. At the Paris discussions, French scholar Sylvain Levy, speaking against the homeland proposal on behalf of the French delegation, said he felt the “exceptional privileges” Jews would receive by gaining another “homeland” in addition to the country where they resided would be “shocking.”

Said Levy, as reported by Margaret MacMillan in her bestseller, Paris 1919: “It would be dangerous to create a precedent whereby certain people who already possessed the rights of citizenship in one country would be called on to govern and to exercise other rights of citizenship in a new country.”

Turning to Levy, Weizmann quipped: “I no longer know you. You are a traitor.”

British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour and Prime Minister David Lloyd George were able to push through the measure for Weizmann, in spite of French opposition, because Britain had military control of Palestine at the time. The Arabs living there had been promised independence by Britain after they helped with the struggle against Ottoman rule. And Palestine was also part of the Sykes-Picot wartime agreement promising Arab land to the French.

When the Arabs objected strenuously to the Balfour Declaration, the British accused them of ingratitude. At the 1919 Versailles Peace Conference the Arabs were not invited to the critical sessions deciding the Zionist measure but Weizman and his group attended and had numerous personal contacts with Balfour, George and the American delegation. Balfour considered the final decision a personal accomplishment.

Here, from  MacMillan’s  book is an account of  Balfour’s 1925 visit to the growing Jewish settlements in Palestine:

“He was touched by the reception he received throughout Palestine from Jews but Balfour failed to notice the Arabs in mourning and the shops closed in protest. His private secretary destroyed the hundreds of angry telegrams he received from Arabs before he could see them. When he and his party moved on to Syria to do some sightseeing, the French authorities mounted a guard around him, much to his annoyance. In Damascus, his hotel was surrounded by an excited crowd of 6,000 Arabs. As the paving stones started to fly and the French cavalry fired back, Balfour watched bemused. A young Arab attached to his party tried to explain why there was such opposition to Zionism. Balfour merely replied that he found the results of his experiment “extraordinarily interesting.” He sailed back to Europe on the Sphinx.”

At this point in time, the Chinese have zero incentive to give the Iranians weapons capable of hurting the US. In fact with all the hub-bub and sanctions, the Chinese are getting better terms in their negotiations for Iranian resources.

The Iranians have little defense against the weapons the US will use. In the case of a US carrier, I would suspect they will be out of range of any Iranian missles. If the Iranians were to get lucky and damage a carrier, I would not want to be in near any Iranian military or nuclear site. The weapons used may not be conventional.

Not my future?

Be careful what you predict, DCRB; this is hardly the time to brag about America’s freedoms, IMO.

No one can dispute that the freedoms that our country (America) started with are ebbing away.  Freedom of speech, for example, is being sharply curtailed; Americans lose their jobs continuously for offhand comments they make, articles they write or websites they produce--even an opinion journalist such as Helen Thomas is fired for giving her opinion. Don Imus losses his sponsorships and is heavily criticized throughout the country for commentary on a commentary program…

From job loss to prison is only a small step considering the hate speech legislation continually popping up in the Congress of the United States.

Religious freedom?  The religious holidays of our Founders such as Christmas and Easter have been politicized and demonized, and any mention of them are exorcized  from the public schools and even from the retail market place.

Freedom of assembly?  Even at political events areas where free speech protest was once welcomed, the areas where protests can be held often are now marked off blocks away from the event and enforced by police.

Freedom of association?  The government orders diversity in the work place, private businesses, and every imaginable social organization.

The right to keep and bear arms? Restrictions grow every year identifying who can keep arms, the type, quantity, and the imposition of every regulation imaginable while a host of government officials and agencies consistently are armed.

But perhaps the greatest and most tragic loss of freedom that Americans have suffered is the loss of representative government, the very essence of the Founders dream.  Instead of a government operating with the consent of the citizens, a private monopoly of international bankers has seized control, first of the currency and the financial levers of powers and, now, most all government functions from foreign policy to domestic social programs, to all industry and commerce…

And....“Let no man think we can deny civil liberty to others and retain it for ourselves.  When zealous agents of the Government arrest suspected ‘radicals’ without prompt trial, deny them access to counsel and admission of bail… we have shorn the Bill of Rights of its sanctity…” –“Fighting Bob” LaFollette

The above article was unintelligible to me, but I gather there may have been movement of US warships through the Suez canal. "Giant Israeli warships?" Isn't that an oxymoron? They don't have any. Bottom line, no wants to attack Iran, the Iranians are too strong already, and too far along in their nuclear program. We'll just have to get used to the idea that Iran may hand off a nuke or two every now and again to holy warriors and no big city in the world will be a safe place to live. Ever.

First, these are not primarily Israeli warships—there are 12 American warships and 1 Israeli Corvette.  Second, Iran doesn’t have the bomb.  And, third, Iran is not the supplier of these so-called "holy warriors." The context for this endless war is based on 9/11, allegedly by Saudi and Israeli perpetrators; and since then, other origins such as Pakistan.  But not Iranians.  Iran has done absolutely nothing, absolutely zero, except respond to Israeli expansionism. Iran had not even embraced the Palestinians.

In short, Iran is real estate with oil reserves not yet governed by a U.S. puppet, such as in Afghanistan with its mineral reserves and pipeline routes and Iraq with its oil. And the U.S. and Israel are determined to change that.

"We created terror among the Arabs and all the villages around. In one blow, we changed the strategic situation."  -- Menachem Begin

The Deir Yassin Massacre by William Martin | CounterPunch | May 13, 2004

On April 9, 1948, members of the underground Jewish terrorist group, the Irgun, or IZL, led by Menachem Begin, who was to become the Israeli prime minister in 1977, entered the peaceful Arab village of Deir Yassin, massacred 250 men, women, children and the elderly, and stuffed many of the bodies down wells. There were also reports of rapes and mutilations. The Irgun was joined by the Jewish terrorist group, the Stern Gang, led by Yitzhak Shamir, who subsequently succeeded Begin as prime minister of Israel in the early '80s, and also by the Haganah, the militia under the control of David Ben Gurian. The Irgun, the Stern Gang and the Haganah later joined to form the Israeli Defense Force. Their tactics have not changed.

The massacre at Deir Yassin was widely publicized by the terrorists and the numerous heaped corpses displayed to the media. In Jaffe, which was at the time 98 percent Arab, as well as in other Arab communities, speaker trucks drove through the streets warning the population to flee and threatening another Deir Yassin. Begin said at the time, "We created terror among the Arabs and all the villages around. In one blow, we changed the strategic situation."

From about 1938 on to the founding of Israel, Begin was the leader of the Irgun. That group regularly assassinated English soldiers in Palestine and frequently hung their booby-trapped bodies in public places. Under Begin, the Irgun blew up the King David Hotel in Jerusalem in 1946, killing 97 British civil servants. The Stern Gang, under Shamir, also assassinated the U.N. representative to Palestine, Count Bernadotte, in 1948.

But Deir Yassin was not the only massacre by the Israeli Defense Force. That army, under Moshe Dayan, took the unarmed and undefended village of al-Dawazyma, located in the Hebron hills, massacred 80 to 100 of its residents, and threw their bodies into pits. "The children were killed by breaking their heads with sticks ... The remaining Arabs were then sealed in houses, as the village was systematically razed ..." (Nur Masalha, The Historical Roots of the Palestinian Refugee Question).

We read further. According to Yitzhak Rabin's biography:

We walked outside, Ben-Gurion accompanying us. Alon repeated his question: "What is to be done with the population?" BG waved his hand in a gesture, which said: Drive them out! ... I agreed that it was essential to drive the inhabitants out.

Continuing the narrative, Ben-Gurion University historian Benny Morris writes in "Operation Dani and the Palestinian Exodus from Lydda and Ramle in 1948", Middle East Journal, 40 …

If you were depending on Edward R. Murrow at the time you would have missed this one, just as if you were depending on network news in 9/11 coverage you would have missed the reports of Israeli presence on Manhattan Island.

I notice you didn't even bother denying my allegation that you hold America and Israel to impossible standards while giving every brutal Islamist or Communist regime a pass.

There used to be a gay Iranian guy in my building.

He once said to me that he would never go back to Iran because he couldn't hide his gayness and, as a result, would be killed.

Of course, lethal oppression of gays and virtual enslavement of women is of little consequence to you as long as the offending party is an enemy of capitalism.

Your rap is straight outa ol' Karl Marx's playbook: Attack every flaw of capitalism and ignore the defects of your own miserable failure of an ideology.

Gays that have one half live as a woman get on fine.  They get a ticket from known sources saying they have had a sex change and live their lives.

If only somewhat true, the 1948 killings are to be condemned. That was 62 years ago. Since then, how many times times have the Jordanians, Egyptians, Syrians, and Lebanese invaded or tried to invade Israel? How many bombs have gone off in how many buses, restaurants, clubs, hotels, wedding receptions? How many rockets fired indiscriminately into Israel from Lebanon and Gaza?

Jews on Manhattan Island. Gee, what a surprise. Half of New York is Jewish.

The Israeli state and its constitution is a lie and the people are combatants.

Zionism is a shoddy and infantile 19th century romantic lie like most of the isms and no better than arianism.  Zionism essentially destroyed the psyche of Ashkenazi jews and told them that the millenia of their lives in the Pale and Eastern European ghettoes was worthless and that they were beneath contempt.

The dominant forces of organised diaspora jewry are racketeers and must come under mainstream anti racketeering law.

Conspiracy Is Highly Probable...

Evidence is piling up of a massive conspiracy. 1st Goldman sells 44% of its BP shares in the 1Q. 2nd Tony Hayward, the chief executive of BP, sold £1.4 million of his shares in the fuel giant weeks before the spill. 3rdHalliburton link, acquisition of cleanup company, Boots & Coots, days before explosion. 4th Government uses disaster to push for Carbon Tax, Nationalization talk. 5thOther asset management firms also sold huge blocks of BP stock in the first quarter. Though the amounts pale in comparison to Goldman’s holdings, Wachovia, owned by Wells Fargo, sold 98% of its shares in BP and Swiss bank UBS sold 97% of its BP shares.

You're right. Hard to believe that some people "in the know" sold shares in an oil company while the Euro was crashing and the price of oil was collapsing. Shocking. But the conspirators were at their best in the way that they were able to sabotage the blow out preventer, trigger a massive gas surge 4 miles beneath the ocean surface in the oil well, blow up the oil rig, and trigger the oil spill. And of course the Obama administration was in on the entire thing because his political influence and reputation have been so enhanced and strengthened by the oil spill. Hard to argue with logic like that.

There is no Starbucks coffee in Iran, no Walmart. Until those Persians agree to take our worthless dollars, and imprison and coerce their poor to manufacture cheap consumer goods for the US they are always going to be in the cross hairs. All the Bric countries obtained nuclear power in the last decade or two, including the vile communists in Bejing. We didn't say anything then, just whens the next container shipment arrive?

And it gets even more complicated when you consider the position of the Russians, who have a real Islamic terrorist threat on their doorstep. They would prefer that the Islamic terrorist problem disappeared, and here is where the lies get a bit deep. You see the missile shield in Europe put there by Cheney and the NeoCons, is aimed at Moscow. The official lie is, that the missiles are there to protect Europe from an Iranian attack.

Putin wanted to make a deal with Bush, but the shrub had already spent his political capital, (remember Cheney was the shadow President, and Bush was the Manchurian puppet)

Recently the Russians were happy that the Obama people were willing to pull those missiles back, but like all things the deal is too complex to be resolved with a handshake, because it involves Iran, in a Machiavellian way of course. Iran sits between Afghanistan (and Obama needs to win that war, he has two years, and if not he is diselected, probably) US hegemony over Central Asia is the issue.

Read Brezyinski on this to understand how they think. The same boys who wanted a US military presence all the way across Central Asia are still calling the shots.

There was a moment in Pakistan, and Bush or his superior, Cheney would be President right now, if they could have made a deal for the nuke warheads in Pakistan. Bhutto was supposed to deliver the deal, served up on a CIA platter, but something went wrong. Now we are back to square one, Manchurian President, seeking to consolidate American power in C. Asia. blah blah.

Invading Iran would be easier than Iraq probably, Cake Walk II. The Iranians have state of the art Russian military equipment, but the Russians have the (ECM - electronic counter measure- keys) When Israel bombed that supposed nuke site in Syria they didn't lose a single aircraft. Why? Russian system, it was a test, only a test, but Bush couldn't go down that road. And Bush could have set up a no fly zone across Hormuz, push back the Iranian air defense systems, spend a few years, degrade their systems by fly overs and intercepts. This is the one part of the puzzle which doesn't fit. His Manchurian handlers must have had the last word.

Domestically Obama made a smart move burying Clinton in the state department, with nothing to do. She wants Iran more than he does. She should have been President, that's easy to say now. Would she run against him, probably not, but things happen, you have to look out for number one. If she would nuke Iran she could shut up those Congressional Republicans once and for all. So we're taking Russia, Iran, betrayal, courtly intrigue, and a man whose time is running out.

If Obama were to create a no fly zone over Hormuz, FREEDOM OF THE SEAS!! He could look strong, and reasonable and patient at the same time. This is how Presidents consolidate power. Thinking about Bush, he probably didn't want to get into Iran because he didn't trust his staff completely. (he was a bit like Nixon on that count) Obama has an edge on him that way. And Obama has no remorse about deficit spending on these things. 80/20 on a no fly zone in the Hormuz  by Christmas.

Invading deep into Iran would not be a cakewalk. Huge landmass, terrible terrain and lot of people who could harass your flanks and cut your supply lines. Of course you could attack and occupy some of their southern oil fields and they could not do much about it.
