$1,500

Tyler Durden's picture

Gold futures just passed $1,500. Silver touches $43.70. Nobody could have possibly seen this coming (certainly not the shorts). Time for CNBC to break out the "$1,500" hats.

If you must know, I've been doing this for fifteen years now, although the real education did not begin until about ten years ago with the ending of the tech boom.

I have seen this gold and silver dance at least four times since then and it always ends the same.  We will see who gets schooled.  If you are not going to sell your paper silver then all I can suggest is to cover your margins.

Who would have thought that 2 years after the greatest credit bust in history would have ushered in a bubble in clothing stocks?

General Jim, Trader Dan, and Eric King would be retired by now,
relaxing and clipping coupons if they had only piled their money into
Lululemon, Under Armour, and Foot Locker....

No more blogging.  No more "worries" about confiscation.  Just sitting at the beach, sipping martinis, and luxuriating in the arms of exotic, foreign, high-end escorts.

And, by selling now, they only pay 15% cap gains rate, not Uncle Thug's confiscatory 28% tax rate on shiny coins.

But don't hurry. A speeding ticket costs like 5 grand in california.

expect the Federal Reserve to soon do their best to shake the commodity tree and attempt to get gold prices down in some clever way.

The success of gold and silver is the doom of the dollar.

The Fed will head fake with short term interest rate hikes max 2%, and the upward trend should spook some gold holders for a little while.

However, the long term trend is up up up.

Why? Washington DC are liars, and in bed with the banksters and global elitists. And those with brains (not the sheople) are buying and holding their gold.

We have lost faith in fiat currency.

Long live gold and silver. Paper is just paper.

I saw a video of an exchange recently between Ron Paul and Ben B during a House hearing.

Ben said "People don't want to buy gold. They want to buy things with dollar currency."

Hey Ben, gold just hit $1500. And the laws in the United States prevent other currencies. But we still are allowed to own gold.

I am not a sucker. I will keep my gold. And with the collapse of the dollar, the money cartel named the Federal Reserve will collapse with it  (it's private and there is no reserve - what a joke!).

Sure there will be riots and protests, just like in the Middle East now.

And where will you be? I bet your little rear end will have high tailed to your getaway in the Mountains. Right? Let me guess, Jackson Hole with all your bankster cronies?

One Monday you wake up and discover all Banks are closed.

All news outlets are reporting a change of currency is in process and the Banks will reopen Tuesday morning. You'll take your old currency and turn it in for the new currency. You'll take a hair cut of 75%. Two weeks later after the time limit passes to turn in your "old" money you'll see dumpsters full of the old money sitting behind the banks. Dive in that dumpster and take enough out to pay your mortgage. Take your mortgage papers and show them the contract is denominated in the old currency and hand it over and laugh at them.

if Prechter had any integrity and grip on reality he would have shuttered Elliott Wave Int. at the end of 2010 having been whitewashed throughout the year. Week in, week out and month after month they kept calling 'tops' and planting '5' finishing waves on the 3 US indexes, Gold, Silver and calling for a US Dollar rally. Wrong on all counts, 2010 was a complete disaster start to finish and absolute mathematical proof their indicators and loony waves cannot predict. Fact

Yet they're still claiming their techinical indicators are working even when they fail 95% of the time when any sane person would give up. But they don't. Their heads are so far up their arses (Elliott Wave counts) I think they're all certifiably insane to ontnue flogging this dead horse totally bankrupt constantly failing theory

They've been throwing out their chart counts all year, throwing their last attempt at a '5' in the bin month after month and haven't had a clue all year where the markets have actually in reality gone but they just keep "believing" it works!!!

That's what a Free Update said a few weeks ago. They urged members to believe in the waves, to feel the waves even though directionally they keep sending people in the exact opposite direction of the markets (reality).

Prechter wants to start a religion where you believe in the waves even though the waves fail 95% of the time and is quite clearly a statistically insane way to predict markets. It doesn't work, it's a sack of shit, Game Over in 2010 Mr Prechter

$1500 is a number, not a Threshold.  The hesitation at $1500 is absolutely typical at such round numbers.  People set stops there or expect that others are setting stops there so they set their stops there, too or a little earlier.
