We've been told that 9/11 changed everything.

Is it true?

Let's look at the facts:

• The Afghanistan war was planned before 9/11 (see this and this)

• The decision to launch the Iraq war was made before 9/11. Indeed, former CIA director George Tenet said that the White House wanted to invade Iraq long before 9/11, and inserted "crap" in its justifications for invading Iraq. Former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill - who sat on the National Security Council - also says that Bush planned the Iraq war before 9/11. Top British officials say that the U.S. discussed Iraq regime change even before Bush took office. And in 2000, Cheney said a Bush administration might "have to take military action to forcibly remove Saddam from power.''

• Cheney apparently even made Iraqi's oil fields a national security priority before 9/11. And the Sunday Herald reported: "Five months before September 11, the US advocated using force against Iraq ... to secure control of its oil." (remember that Alan Greenspan, John McCain, George W. Bush, Sarah Palin, a high-level National Security Council officer and others all say that the Iraq war was really about oil.)

• The Patriot Act was planned before 9/11. Indeed, former Counter Terrorism Czar Richard Clarke told Stanford law professor Lawrence Lessig:
  

  After 9/11 the government drew up the Patriot Act within 20 days and it was passed.   The
  Patriot Act is huge and I remember someone asking a Justice
  Department official how did they write such a large statute so
  quickly, and of course the answer was that it has been sitting in the drawers of the Justice Department for the last 20 years waiting for the event where they would pull it out.

• Cheney dreamed of giving the White House the powers of a monarch long before 9/11

• Cheney
  and Rumsfeld actively generated fake intelligence which exaggerated
  the threat from an enemy in order to justify huge amounts of military
  spending long before 9/11. And see this

• The government's spying on Americans began before 9/11 (confirmed here and here. And see this)

• The decision to threaten to bomb Iran was made before 9/11

• It was known long before 9/11 that torture doesn't work to produce accurate intelligence ... but is an effective way to terrorize people

9/11 didn't change anything. It was simply an excuse to implement existing plans.

   Actually, it has been proven that the planes had NO phones on board and that was because at that point in time the "Cell" technology would not permit it and to top that off, regular cell phones would not work either on those planes at the altitudes in question.

   I would look into what financial benefits or other reasons Ted Olsen had for getting rid of his wife. By the way, he changed his story on the supposed phone call MANY times.

   And by the way, morphing technology, good enough to imitate anyone's voice with a good enough sample has been around for many years. The idea of the phone calls and all the "Let's Roll" bullshit, what just that, to SELL the narrative

    The technology to take control of the plane away from the pilot so that no matter what he does all his controls are disabled. And it just so happens that the people who developed this technology are very closely tied in with the other co-conspirators like Larry "Pull my finger" Silverstein.

   Besides clear", motive", "opportunity" and "means" all the facts clearly point to a "false flag" attack, not to mention Israel's paper entitled "Clean Break"and the "Project for A New American Century" which called for just this, and are tied to the co-conspirators.

I think that no matter how we look at it or what we believe, the majority of the blame seems to end
up residing with the government/TPTB. I think that the Gov't being blamed is/was one of the tertiary
goals of whomever perpetrated the horrific act. Let me explain:

We can really split the populace into two main groups that generally believe the following-

Group 1 (GP1): 9/11 was a terrorist act.

Group 2 (GP2): 9/11 was an inside job by the gov't.

Group 1 can be split into two groups:

GP1-1: 9/11 was a terrorist act by Islamic extremists. These extremists were driven by hatred of our
country and our religious beliefs etc,. Believes that the U.S., U.S. gov't and people did nothing to warrant such an attack.

GP1-2: 9/11 was a terrorist act by Islamic extremists. These extremists were driven by hatred of our
our incursions into their lands, our support of puppet regimes that suppress their own populations,
and our profligate lifestyle that is draining their resources (oil) for which only the leaders of the
aforementioned puppet regimes receive any real benefit.

GP2: 9/11 was a gov't/PTB orchestrated inside job. A false flag event so as to justify invasions, destruction of records, loss of civil liberties and pave the way for other events etc.

The GP1-1 position is probably the least plausible. It would really take not being aware of what is and has been going on in the ME and elsewhere. It would need a complete ignorance of what part natural resources (read oil) have played and continue to play in our society/standard of living. It would take ignorance regarding what role the U.S. gov't as well as other governments have had in this paradigm since at least the early 70's (Seems like we didn't have that much negative feedback from the ME before that time).

The GP1-2 argument is (much to the truthers chagrin) probably the easiest to defend. Look at what has happened/is happening in the ME this spring/summer. The populations over there are sick of the regimes that we have propped up and supported over the years. Why did we support them? Easy access to resources. Distract the attention of the masses from their own plight and point them the direction of the 'evil Zionist Israel' and you can continue for quite a while. Foment disharmony with the perfect 'distractor' and, if you are a monarch and play ball with the 'great satan', you can rape your country of their resources and pocket the money.

The GP2 stance is difficult to support, perhaps because the thought of it is almost too heinous to entertain. However, it is quite difficult to believe that an administration in power only 6 months could have planned and set up all this is so short a time. There are other factors that make this belief questionable, however, I am not really writing this to argue about these things.

I believe that whatever one thinks about the origin of the plan and attack on the Twin Towers, one must admit that it was wildly successful if the desired outcome was changing our society. Moreover, it is very clear that a secondary goal has been achieved; laying the groundwork for a deep and abiding distrust of the gov't and its goals. That even a small minority (GP2-perhaps growing) believes that our gov't (can't run social security, medicare and education properly) could effect such a thing speaks volumes. An ever larger number of people are probably falling into the GP1-2 camp, especially with all the news reports from the ME flashing on television like a big neon sign blinking 'Notice: U.S. Collusion Everywhere'. The GP1-1....well....baaahahaaaaaah (please use the picture George provided above). That we can think we have done nothing to contribute to this situation wreaks of delusion. But, hey, ignorance is bliss....and who is to say that sheep aren't blissful (what do you count when you try to sleep at night, never-mind....don't answer that).

The accomplishment of this goal (distrust of gov't) may be the first step on the path towards authoritarian gov't and this would be a disaster.

I remember reading the Patriot Act when it was first trotted out after 9/11 and a few things jumped out at me. The first was that it was so long and detailed that it obviously had been a "wish list" drafted long in advance, most likely by authoritarians in and out of government. The second was the obfuscating form of the law. There were a multitude of examples of changing specific words or grammatical elements, or sentence fragments without providing any context, and this seemed intentional to hide the intent of the act. The third was that as far as I know, it was the first law to explicitly define any attempts to alter government policies as terrorism. i.e. it criminalized dissent. The fourth was that it completely decimated the fourth amendment and officially instituted the "permanent" surveillance state.

So by the time the Patriot Act was passed, it was pretty clear to me that the events of 9/11 were primarily a form of "shock and awe" perpetrated on the American people and the Congress, with the intended effect of stripping constitutional rights from the people. Given the ludicrous official story of 9/11, the abundance of contradictory evidence, and the deliberate destruction of all the physical evidence, 9/11 has all the hallmarks of a false flag operation. 9/11 didn't lead to the Patriot Act, the Patriot Act led to 9/11. How this all plays out I don't know, but it's encouraging to see so many people questioning the official story.

I think I see what you're getting at, and there does seem to be some truth to it.

Back in ancient Greece, there was a play called Lysistrata, where the women agreed to withhold sex until the men agreed to stop war. Both sides try to attempt end-runs to get what they want, but in the end, there is a reconciliation after Lysistrata gives both sides an earful about their faults. This seems to me a best-case scenario and I think the story is again germane to our current problems. All we need is a woman who can convince other women to withhold sex and take over the treasury so it is impossible to wage war. :-)

In a “democracy”, which has devolved out of a state of Law eg as in the USA, that was a Republic form of State/Nation — everybody wants to become a Bureaucrat: that is to say. everybody (I speak generally) wants a ‘no-risk’ position with means, while enjoying self comfort, and preferably a greater share of the public purse while not having responsibility (or being actively engaged in mitigating any risk of that responsibility to the endless chain of hierarchy and regulations). Clearly then democracy morphs or devolves further into the democratic-socialist state and then onto the pure Socialist State.

After Perestroika, Eastern European politicians publically and frequently changed their social ideologies from Communist, to Socialists, to Social Democrats, to Democrats and Republicans in a time frame of a few years: nothing unusual.

Italy in the ’20′s faced this festering state of national affairs and in order to get any public services, like the trains and buses, etc., to function, Mussolini developed the Fascist State. This being due to the nature of creeping democracy aka socialism where nothing works and everything falls in disrepair, apart from the efforts at grabbing for more entitlements by the de-facto bureaucrats which of course, become, as true to their natural attributes, totally unproductive and hidden from view behind mountains of endless regulations.

Hence, the model of fascism emerged where industrialists were called upon by political “leadership” to get things done by bypassing the unwashed and totally dysfunctional bureaucracy – that is the whole general public that was sucking at the Nations paps.

But what has emerged today, particularly in the West and being most apparent in the USA, is not the same type of ideological state (which really only arrives by name after the event and through academic dissection) at all, as what has happened is regulatory and political capture by the Banking Industry. Thus, today’s state of governance system, appears to be trending away from political control, towards full Banker control.

In this regard, the EU has more or less already de-fanged political control and had in replaced by professional bureaucrats who have arisen through the ranks mainly through stealth, deception and grovelling. These products of Les Grande Écoles of France and Europe that were designed to produce this sterile type of sterile incompetent mandarin sub-species — like white ants, marched into the halls of power of central Europe by self-election and/or paid for in-kind, appointment.

So the “masters of the universe” of today’s leadership merely obey a higher Authority: Bankers. Counter jumpers as I believe Keating called them, maybe so, but methinks that behind the curtain is power and that power that is being consolidated in unimaginable terms and form through market manipulation and consensual collusion – but not necessarily with intellect nor comprehension of that which they have unleashed, and I believe that they have – as the Americans say, “goofed”, somewhat.

So evolving Hayek then, we have a new (and possibly Hayek stimulated devolution) evolution of governance system which is physically being manipulated to fall under Banker control; a system that would involve governance by algorithm, social intercourse via instantaneous networked Internet devices and control infrastructures and all Nations states as vassals franchised to obedient and moderate incompetents. Australia is a good example of this advanced state. “But it is different here”.

So, the weaknesses for the Utopians are employment, human incompetence, and the innate human desire to only voluntarily give blood. That is to say, revolution.

The trend is clear; a totally new type of governance system is appearing and it lies not with bankers, politicians or bureaucrats. And, nor is it democracy, socialism, nor fascism and definitely not Marxism or Stalinism or Abbottism but it could and will have a lot to do with electronics, the Internet, transparency and accountability as well as mandatory gatekeeper service; albeit in a full risk model.

I think it too idealistic to believe that we will have had soon done with the politicians, bureaucrats and bankers as I have no doubt that this species, like lice and feral, will always be amongst us – waiting for opportunity – to fill the space of a welcoming milieux.

I try not to be too conspiratorial in my thinking.  I studied the Kennedy assassination for a few years, 20+ books, 10+films, evidence analysis, a fair amount of research, a trip to Daley Plaza (native Dallasians call it the grassy knoll), a walk of the entire area, inspection of the exact model firearm, etc… and I still can’t draw conclusions other than a skilled marine with that rifle from a perched open window position could have shot the chocolate starfish of a sparrow at 80 yards.   Trust me, from the Book Depository window, it is almost a straight shot down, even if the car is moving, the rifle from that position moves even less.  And possibly a second assassin team from Italy paid in Heroin by the America Mafia.  As good of a spot as the depository was, the perch from behind the white concrete parapet (grassy knoll) is even better.  The concrete parapet is the thickness of a rifle, and you would never see it in the corner of one of the many openings as they are blocked from sunlight.  The parapet also provides an ideal point because you could be standing and resting the rifle on the parapet versus in the window where you would be crouched and more than likely holding the rifle with 2 hands.  Immediately behind the parapet is the fence and behind that is still a wide open parking lot leading into a humongous railroad yard, simply too easy too disappear into those.  My only point is I did my due diligence.

I am well aware of the treachery the government is capable of.

My first reaction when 9/11 began to unfold - a crashed plane in PA (failed attempt at DC target), the towers, the pentagon - was the attack had failed.  Like many other readers I had recently read the Tom Clancy Novel which described the Japanese as the airline hijackers on the anniversary of Pearl Harbor.  In the novel the attack succeeded in taking out part of the capitol.  On 9/11, the president and congress remained intact, along with all governors so there was no real threat to sovereign stability. 

In 1988 I was in Marine boot camp and they informed us that we were going to war in the middle east as we were already at war in the middle east.  This came as news to me because I wasn’t aware of any war going on, but none the less, training for the middle east wars started at least 1988, if not before, but I can only speak for 88 and forward.  The drill instructors were adamant as 3^rd battalion we were training for a real war.

So Desert Storm was no surprise, and what should also come as no surprise is that there were many factions wanting Sadaam to be finished off.   Therefore why wouldn’t there be plans as far back as 1991 for the invasion of IRAQ?  Why wouldn’t there be plans as far back as any post world war II era for the invasion of any country?

You will never hear of any successful intelligence operation unless it is desired you hear about it else it wouldn’t be a successful intelligence operation.  For those who think that a conspiracy can’t exist, doesn’t exist, won’t exist I suggest you study Daniel Ellsberg.

Anyway, for 10 years I have a been a total cynic and skeptic about 9/11 with respect to any type of conspiracy.  But now I am starting to wonder a bit.  There is Sibel Edmonds for example.  The evidence shows that as far back as April of 2001 there was evidence of this attack if not as a definite as a possible and if you look at the action of the stock market it started tanking close to April. 

It just makes me wonder.  Why so few Jews killed?  Why after we obtained OBL computer data did Obama demand a reversion to the 1967 Israeli borders?  Did he get definitive data Mossad was fucking around with 911?

The patriot act which is a constitutional violation in motion does nothing more than pardon the guilty parties.  In the old days they would still tap everybody, but if you got caught doing it to an innocent party you were held to accountability, all the Patriot Act does is prevent legal recourse against the perps.

Semantics... there are hundreds of plans contingencies on the books, but it takes an event like 9/11 before they can be implemented.  Had an evil prick like Dick Cheney not been president, much this stuff probably would not have happened. We probably would have still gone into Afghanistan, but not Iraq and none of this "Homeland Security" & Patriot Act bullshit.  The fact that 9/11 was allowed or engineered was basically a coup for the fascist elements in the US.  As was the legally iffy election of dubya.

Well, you may say nothing has changed in terms of US foreign policy and tactics, but if there is such a thing as a universal rule, it is that Things Change. Especially now because of living in the information age.

Whenever one of my friends or colleagues start getting frightened about another terror alert, arabs, and bogeymen, and start preaching to me about the importance of "security", and "vigilence", and well, acceptance of every invasive acts we must endure these days in homage to bureaucracy, I send them this link:

Even if terrorists crashed a plane every week, I am much more likely die by being struck by lightning during my lifetime. (Lifetime risk of being struck by lightning: 1 in 80,000, risk of dying in a hijacked plane if one is hijacked every week: 1 in 135,000). Just for once, I wish people understood the tragedy of the freedoms we have lost because of our fear and misunderstanding of real life risks.

Not just fear and misunderstanding of real life risks, but total ignorance of them.

They do not realize that getting in their car to drive to the mall is fraught with risk to their lives, their childrens', and others. 

We whiz in opposite directions at 60 MPH routinely, separated by an 'air barrier' of approximately 5 feet, and that's being generous.

They leave their savings in dollars while Euros grow by 50%. Take no precautions to safeguard their cash.

Somewhere along the way we have bred out "Thinking" about what demands, is vital to be thought about, and substituted the superfluous which is given most of our attention, passive as cows in a meadow. 

Unaware that doing nothing is taking a big risk.
