Regarding the iPads, I think people are finally waking up to the fact that in order to make the iPad really functional you have to spend a lot of green for the apps.

As the economy worsens the app business is going to take a dive, and that will REALLY hurt APPL.

APPL: over priced products & over priced stock.

That has been just one of my gripes.  Once you buy an Apple product the sole purpose of your existence and relationship with the company after that is to be a revenue stream to them as well as a data mine for age, income, purchasing pattern, friends, locations, etc. and a never ending metric pool that willingly participates in having a tracking device chained to your person at all times.

In addition you can't upgrade their computers and all their devices are a crapload to fix.  I have to explain to people that the Apple stores are so packed because people are their to get things fixed or complain about issues.  They usually say "I thought Apples don't break" to which I reply "Then you've never owned an Apple."

@Mad

Sounds like the cork is out of the Rebel Yell a bit early this morning.

My iPad has about $30 of purchased apps, that's "a lot of green"?

Temporalist you are incorrect regarding the ability to upgrade Apple computers. They function identically to their PC counterparts for 90+% of computer users, and 100% of average consumers.

Like any hardware company, they have people return things, and need repairs. Part of the reason the traffic is due to in-house servicing and their live help desk.

Anyone with a smartphone participates in the same type of data harvesting as anyone with an iPad does, there is very little difference.
