Al Qaeda confirmed the death Osama bin Laden on
Friday in an Internet message that vowed revenge on the United States
and its allies, including Pakistan, according to the SITE monitoring
service.
Five days after President Barack Obama announced bin
Laden's death in a U.S. raid in Pakistan, al Qaeda vowed not to deviate
from the path of armed struggle and said bin Laden's blood "is more
precious to us and to every Muslim than to be wasted in vain."
"It (bin Laden's blood) will remain, with permission from Allah the
Almighty, a curse that chases the Americans and their agents, and goes
after them inside and outside their countries," the militant network
said in a statement released on Islamist Internet forums and translated
by SITE.
"Their happiness will turn into sorrow, and their blood will be mixed with their tears," al Qaeda said.
"We call upon our Muslim people in Pakistan, on whose land Sheikh Osama
was killed, to rise up and revolt to cleanse this shame that has been
attached to them by a clique of traitors and thieves ... and in general
to cleanse their country from the filth of the Americans who spread
corruption in it."

I think obama discovered a few weeks ago while poking around in the CIA files that actually Osama was long gone - and his spectre was just being used by Bush and Cheney to scare the little American people into accepting crap like "the patriot act" and allowing the NSA to wiretap.
When he found this out he realised the madness and had to find a way of ending it - of course he couldn't make the CIA / FBI look stupid by announcing "actually folks....we have no idea where he is and it's likely he's long dead - buried under a pile of rocks in the tora tora mountain range.
The assasination was the best way to achieve this - but of course like all great plans nobody expected the public to disbelieve them quite so aggressively.
I still cannot understand why you would tip a man into the sea that you have finally captured after over a decade long search without ensuring the people were satisfied that he was actually dead.
I also don't believe that BS about 'respecting a muslim death' - I mean it's laughable to think they would give Timothy McVeigh the funeral he requested in keeping with his faith? - we all know they wouldn't - but apparently Bin Laden gets special treatment.
When things don't add up there is always a rat to be found. This isn't even about "show me the pictures" - this is more about "give me a credible reason for your actions which make no sense" - an explanation is not forthcoming.
I mean to think they Whitehouse wouldn't show the pictures because they are 'gory' - has nobody watched Evil dead 1,2 and 3? What about SAW? - I mean we can stomach a man sawing his own leg off but we couldn't bear to see a still of a man shot in the head?

We dumped the body as sea so his followers wouldn't have a shrine at which to worship. We still have a bunch of troops in Iraq/Afghanistan and we don't want any of them getting killed over this.
