The God character seems way too hostile and insane to be taken seriously in a mainstream work. I liked the way his son was portrayed, but most people never took his actual words that seriously, instead adding their own poor interpretations to what was a very clear message in the book.
Overall, I give it a thumbs down. Far too derivative from earlier works.

Dark matter is a fiction invented by physicists based on a (probably) faulty assumption regarding the age & velocity of an expanding universe. it exists as a mathematical plug-in to balance an erroneous equation. It has never been observed &, I propose, never will be.
My take: Dark matter is the cosmologists' Off Balance Sheet vehicle.

As far as I understand & have heard from one particle physicist: the current big bang model assumes an expansion rate to the cosmos which predicts there should be so much more matter out there. But the matter has not been observed. Thus it was formalized as "Dark Matter", and inserted to save the model.
I think Physicists should examine their assumptions about the expansion rate & Doppler readings of the microwave background, before concluding that 95% of the universe exists in some invisible state.
Luckily, this kind of high level research is not my profession. Anybody here at the Hedge read these iournals & know what's up in the field?
One can only observe the effects of something dark. BTW, there is a distinction between dark matter and dark energy. Try googling, then pick whatever journal you respect:
