American Warships Heading to Egypt
Connecticut's newspaper The Day noted on January 24th:
Connecticut
National Guard Detachment 2, Company I, 185th Aviation Regiment of
Groton has mobilized and will deploy to the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt, to
support the Multinational Force and Observers.
The unit left
Connecticut Jan. 15 for Fort Benning, Ga., for further training and
validation. The unit operates C-23C Sherpa aircraft and has deployed
three times in the last seven years in support of the conflicts in Iraq
and Afghanistan.
The unit will provide an on-demand aviation asset
to the Multinational Force and Observers commander to support its
mission of supervising the security provisions of the Egypt/ Israel
Peace Treaty.
Yesterday, the Los Angeles Times reported:
The
Pentagon is moving U.S. warships and other military assets to make
sure it is prepared in case evacuation of U.S. citizens from Egypt
becomes necessary, officials said Friday.
The Kearsarge, an amphibious assault ship
carrying 700 to 800 troops from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit,
and the Ponce have arrived in the Red Sea, putting them off Egypt’s
shores in case the situation worsens.
Pentagon officials
emphasized that military intervention in Egypt was not being
contemplated and that the warships were being moved only for
contingency purposes in case evacuations became necessary.
In
addition to the Marines, the Kearsarge normally carries around four
dozen helicopters and harrier jets that would permit evacuations and
other humanitarian operations, the officials said. More than 1,000
Marines from the Kearsarge were sent to Afghanistan last month on a
temporary deployment, leaving roughly one-third still aboard, officials
said.
The Kearsarge is an attack vessel.
As Wikipedia notes:
In carrying out her mission, Kearsarge
not only transports and lands ashore troops, but also tanks, trucks,
artillery, and the complete logistic support needed to supply an
assault.
The assault support system aboard ship coordinates
horizontal and vertical movement of troops, cargo and vehicles. Monorail
trains, moving at speeds up to 600 ft/min (3 m/s), transport cargo and
supplies from storage and staging areas throughout the ship to a
13,600 square feet (1,260 m2) well deck which opens to the
sea through huge gates in the ship's stern. There, the cargo, troops and
vehicles are loaded aboard landing craft for transit to the beach. The
air cushion landing craft can "fly" out of the dry well deck, or the
well deck can be flooded so conventional landing craft can float out on
their way to the beach.
Simultaneously, helicopters are brought
from the hangar deck to the flight deck by two deck-edge elevators and
loaded with supplies from three massive cargo elevators.
Kearsarge's
armament suite includes the NATO RIM-7 Sea Sparrow point defense system
for anti-aircraft support, RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missiles, 25 mm
chain guns and the Phalanx close-in weapon system to counter threats
from low-flying aircraft and close-in small craft. Missile decoy
launchers augment the anti-ship missile defenses.
However, the Kearsarge has also been used in missions to evacuate people stranded in war zones. Wikipedia describes this unique dual capability:
Kearsarge is
fully capable of amphibious assault, advance force and special purpose
operations, as well as non-combatant evacuation and other humanitarian
missions. Since her commissioning, she has performed these missions the
world over, including evacuating non-combatants from Freetown, Sierra
Leone, on 31 May 1997 and rescuing Air Force Captain Scott O'Grady from
Serb-controlled territory in Bosnia on 8 June 1995. Additionally,
Kearsarge is fully equipped with state of the art command and control
(C&C) systems for flagship command duty, and her medical facilities
are second in capability only to the Navy's hospital ships, USNS Comfort
(T-AH-20) and Mercy (T-AH-19). These facilities allowed Kearsarge to
serve a dual role during the 1999 NATO bombing of the Federal Republic
of Yugoslavia, as a platform for bombing missions against Serb forces in
Operation Allied Force, and as a treatment facility for Albanian
refugees in Operation Shining Hope.
The Los Angeles Times continues:
In
addition, the aircraft carrier Enterprise is in the eastern
Mediterranean. The Pentagon originally announced that the carrier was
heading through the Suez Canal for the Arabian Gulf, but the crisis in
Egypt appears to have prompted a decision to keep it in the
Mediterranean at least temporarily.
Egypt borders the Mediterranean Sea (as well as the Red Sea):

The Enterprise is the longest naval vessel in the world, and is powered by eight
nuclear reactors. The Enterprise does not appear to have any dual role
for evacuations, but is simply an offensive aircraft carrier.
Therefore,
I see no clear indication that the U.S. government has affirmatively
decided to directly involve our military in Egypt. However, it is
obvious that the government is at least planning for the possibility.
Update: Business Insider notes:
A "very senior" member of the US Marine corps is telling people "multiple platoons" are deploying to Egypt, a source tells us.
There is a system within the US Marines that alerts the immediate
families of high-ranking marines when their marine will soon be deployed
to an emergency situation where they will not be able to talk to their
spouses or families. That alert just went out, says our source.
This senior Marine told our source that the Pentagon will deploy
"multiple platoons" to Egypt over the next few days and that the
official reason will be ‘to assist in the evacuation of US citizens."Our source was told that "the chances they were going over there went from 70% yesterday to 100% today."

The bankrunner¡
A Marine platoon consists of about 40 troops. "Several" means, what, four or five? They sent a half million combat troops to Iraq. They are sending 200 marines and a warship, and you think we're going to stick our nose in this bees nest? This is a show of force...posturing.
The Zionists are responsible for this distraction in Egypt so that the government of Lebanon could fall so that the Zionists would have an excuse to annex the entire country of Lebanon (for "self-protection") because they need the land.
Let's see if this interpretation can get any traction. I think I included all the necessary words.
Generally speaking, this is the worst bunch of armchair generals spouting nonsense I have seen in a long while. The Enterprise carrier group has been doing race tracks off Lebanon for about a month or longer with the ARG in tow in case they had to evacuate the UNFIL from Lebanon. So Egypt comes up and Marines from the 26ARG or the anti-terroist company reinforce the Marine guards at the embassy. Not preparatons for war. In fact, it appears that Egypt might just be calming down as people remember there are mouths to feed at home. It is standard procedure for the military to prepare for noncombatant evacuation operations (NEO) in places where all Hell has broken loose.
Have any of you considered that while all eyes are focused on Egypt that Lebanon just might have gone to Hell in a hand basket? While it doesn't appear that Lebanon has gone to Hell at the moment, the possibility is there. So all of you who have been busy leaping to conclusions about what the 26ARG might or might not do, consider your aerobics done for the day.
good evaluation, thanks. - Ned
Invading Egypt is a shoe-in, they have WMD's - rocks....

This will not end well. Two words to live by Food & Ammo
If you trace the problems back to the Beginning of Bush ll appointment by the Supreme Court, you run smack dab into the controversy/conspiracies attendent with 9/11/01.
No one in the rest of the world believes that the official story is true. An entire group of people, Muslims , were blamed for a crime they had nothing to do with.
Who had the motive, means and opportunity to plant the high-tech nano-thermite in the towers, and who controlled the property at the time? What country had the means to have a 747 take-off on the afternoon of 9/11, it was an El Al plane packed with dual nationals heading back to Israel. I shit you not.
Review the article below, and then think about all the loses we've suffered, in lives, resources, freedoms, money, etc. because of 9/11.

Explosives Found in World Trade Center DustCommon Ground
By Elizabeth Woodworth
February 6th, 2010
For Dr. Niels Harrit, nanotechnology expert and a recently retired University of Copenhagen chemistry professor, it all began when he watched the collapse of the World Trade Center’s Building 7. Harrit watched it come down in amazement, noting, “I had to watch it again… and again. I hit the button 10 times and my jaw dropped lower and lower.”
The 47-storey structure, with a base the size of a football field, was not hit by a plane, but collapsed at free-fall speed seven hours after the Twin Towers, at 5:20 PM. “I had never heard of that building before and there was no visible reason why it should collapse in that way. Straight down, in 6.5 seconds. I have had no rest since that day,” Harrit says.
Dr. Harrit is the lead scientist of a European, nine-author, peer-reviewed study*, which found millions of microscopic red-gray chips in the World Trade Center dust. These chips, at first thought to be paint, were ignited and determined to be unburned nanothermite – an ultra high-tech incendiary explosive, produced by the military and capable of slicing through steel beams. Nanothermite contains more energy than dynamite and can be used as rocket fuel.
Dr. Niels Harrit
In light of the new discovery by the Harrit team, the mysterious and disturbing features of the World Trade Center collapses can now be explained: buildings WTC 1, WTC 2, and WTC 7 all fell symmetrically, straight down into their footprints at nearly free-fall speed, producing thousands of tons of pulverized concrete dust.
New York Fire Department Captain Philip Ruvolo reported “molten steel running down the channel rails, like lava.” Weeks later, cranes were pulling red-hot girders, dripping steel, from the rubble piles.
A WTC building engineer was convinced that a bomb went off. He saw a 50-ton hydraulic press in a deep sub-basement of the North Tower “reduced to rubble” by an enormous explosion and a 300-pound steel and concrete door wrinkled up “like a piece of aluminum foil.” The explosion occurred as the plane hit the 95th floor, 92 minutes before the building collapsed.
TV anchors Dan Rather, Wolf Blitzer and Peter Jennings likened the collapses to controlled demolition. Dr. Harrit’s in-depth chemical analysis, combined with the visual and physical features of the collapses, now supports these early impressions. Yet the Harrit team’s paper, which made front-page headlines six times in the major Danish newspapers during the first week of February 2010, was never reported in North America.
The subject continues to haunt the European news. A January 2011 poll by the prestigious Emnid Institute for Welt der Wunder magazine showed that almost 90% of German respondents doubt the official account of 9/11.
When asked on Danish national news why he thinks nanothermite caused the collapses, Harrit replied, “Well, it’s an explosive. Why else would it be there? You cannot fudge this kind of science. We have found it. Unreacted thermite… [mixed with the concrete dust from the collapses of the three World Trade Center buildings].”
The issue of how the buildings fell is central to our rationale for being in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Dr. Niels Harrit lectured for 34 years at the University of Copenhagen, and has published more than 60 articles in major science journals. He has delivered 90 lectures on the World Trade Center in Sweden, Norway, England, Holland, the US, Australia and Spain.
I encourage everyone on ZH to ignore this kind of delusionary tale ... just junk and move on.
WT7 had nothing to do with the burning diesel fuel that fed the emergency back up power generators?
First it's unpiloted jets plowing into the towers...and the Pentagon was a bomb instead of a plane.
Then it's no...but...there was no proof they were piloted by jihadists.
Then it's the cell phone calls made from the planes were the work of Mossad voice technology so the passengers weren't really there (in spite of their own deaths from being there and body parts) and even that air to ground cell communication was unavailable.
Then...no...that's all true...those people had indeed witnessed people getting their throats slit during the takeover.
Then...it's pointed out that the explosives had to be planted beforehand (a very bulky & security intensive proposition)...and this is it.
Nano-explosives.
The europeans may be "haunted" by 911 but I am not. If it's ever tried again the little pukes will wind up in the center aisle as a gooey stain...or crashed into a field...they can pick their poison...we are afterall about choices.
And we don't need Homeland Security or union goons groping us in the airports to accomplish that.
Come back when you can figger out why Atta would go along with a plan hatched by "zionists" or "neo-cons" or "joos" or the "CIA" or "bankers" or "Bilderbergers" or whatever's on your mind. And when you do, be prepared to explain how the sheer number of people that must have been involved remain silent or provide evidence that they were silenced.
Quite the ambulance chasing cottage industry ya'll have made for yourselves over the deaths of thousands.
Good evening troll.
Well, we have it on good authority that fire doesn't melt steel. Those I Beams are actually extruded through a special sub-species of Unicorns with the extra-special sphincter. Then the special I Beams get coated with three hour fire retardant so they can't melt. Of course, the tensile strength vs. temperature curve works against the two or three redundant failure paths all at the same time. And voila, all fail and all fall down.
The unicorns hang out in Cleveland and Gary and East Chicago. X has its HQ in Pittsburgh, but doesn't make any more steel there (nor football teams evidently http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmLjdr_qKiI ;-) ).
But, after all, we know that W was the stupidest human being on the planet. So stupid that he could put this "controlled demolition" together under the nose of an extremely effective ex-FBI security chief and leave no traces nor blabbermouths.

New meat: What malignant dribble and I suppose Chaney was not in charge of NORAD on 9/11.
"Then the special I Beams get coated with three hour fire retardant so they can't melt."
Damn shame it wasn't done like in the old days...but I'm sure, somehow, this will be held out as a long planned conspiracy plot of the "bad guys" to use unforseen at the time, nano-explosives...LOL.
Actions...consequences etc.
Clearly I'm going to have to be more aggressive with these mindless fucks.
I'm out...for now.

A Letter to the World
Dear fellows,
I am writing to you today to let you know what is really happening in Egypt. The demonstrations that sparked on Jan 25 have been organized by the country’s youth, calling for their right to lead a life they deserve. The government, including the president, is denying that, claiming that it’s a movement of some anti-government people, such as the Muslim Brotherhood. But I tell you the truth, this is not a movement of some opposing party; it’s a movement of the whole society, and here is why…
Hosni Mubarak (83 years) has been the president of Egypt since 1981. Try to imagine how it would be like if you were in our situation. Mubarak was there years before me and all of my friends were born. He has been there during my primary, secondary and college education. He was there when I was married, and he is still there after my son was born! Not only has Mubarak been “as eternal as life” to me, but also his entourage. Fathy Sorour (79 years) was a minister since 1986, and has been the parliament leader since 1990, for 21 successive years. And Safwat El-Sherif has been there since the 1980s. These, and many others, have been in charge of our country since before we were born, and are still there.
The conditions in the whole country are and have been deteriorating for most people. Education, media, economy, etc. Everything is going in the wrong direction, and has been going that way ever since we were born. The government is doing “reforms”, just to make it easier for monopolists to get richer, regardless of how the rest of Egyptians are doing. And in the same time, they have the “emergency law” operating since 1981, allowing the state security to hold anyone they want in captivity, even without a trial. They are forging our votes, yet denying us any form of speaking our true voices. They are corrupt to their bones, forging even student union elections in the university! Leaders everywhere are current or ex-major generals: governors, university heads, even factory managers. Not to mention corruption at all levels of the society. Unemployement levels are too high, especially among the youths. Poverty is so spread, with more than half the nation under the poverty line. And more, and more, too many things to mention here.
BUT IT’S TIME FOR A CHANGE! We have always been afraid of the police and state security. We know they detain us without trials. We know they torture and murder us without being questioned. BUT NO MORE! We waited, and waited, and waited, for 30 years we waited for correction, but in vain. The last parliament elections were forged at an unprecedented level, preparing to give Mubarak another reign for 6 more years, or until he dies, whichever is earlier. We tried to follow all possible peaceful means, but even signing a freedom statement was banished and the signers were pursued. We have been left with no other choice. IT’S OUR RIGHT TO LIVE, and to have a BETTER LIFE FOR OUR CHILDREN.
Let no one fool you, this is not an opposition party or some Islamists moving the people. It’s the whole society moving, and mainly us, the youths. We are demonstrating peacefully, but the government is hiring thugs and bandits to infiltrate the protesters and cause damages, so that they can say it’s our fault. They are fighting us ruthlessly, censoring our voices on the Internet and in the media, firing live and rubber bullets, bombing us with tear gas, detaining hundreds of protesters, and wounding and killing others. It’s a true fight out there, but mostly a one-sided fight. We know that these policemen are our brothers, and are just “following orders”, so we’re avoiding, as much as possible, harming them in any way.
Dear fellow Americans,
Your government is providing the largest support to our 30-year president. They are supporting the state security with weapons and tear gas canisters. They are giving our country $1.6B yearly funds that mainly go to this corrupt government in various forms of bribes. Your “democratic” country is supporting our government because they are afraid of the Islamists. But I am telling you, fear not. Your view of the Islamists is untrue and has been corrupted, but that’s a story for another day. At least give us your support, in that it’s our right to choose our leaders. Support us, and tell your senators and congressmen to stop supporting our government. Support us, and tell the world that our freedom is more important than our bread. Support us, and help us get rid of a 30 years old government. Just imagine how you’d feel if your grandchildren witnessed the same ruler!
Dear fellow Europeans,
Your leaders are so concrened about the situation in Egypt. They know that Mubarak was corrupt, and that’s why they are afraid. They know how much opression is happening around us, and they want us to stay that way. Your leaders have put their eyes on Egypt ever since the Roman empire, until the last British occupation to Egypt. But it’s our right to lead our country, and to teach our children that their freedom is so precious. It’s our right to choose our leaders and our government. And it’s your humanitarian duty to support us. Tell your leaders that you support us. Go to Egyptian embassies and demonstrate your support. Tell your fellows about our cause, and let everybody know that we’re just trying to get our rights that have been opressed for… as long as we have lived!
Dear world,
This is a moment of testing what you are really made of. It’s a moment of truth with one’s self. Is your conscience still alive, or do you still value your interests more than humanity? Will you prove your dignity, and help us reclaim our liberty, or will you stand aside and just watch us as tanks run over us? It’s your call, but remember, it’s something you’ll live with for the rest of your life, and you might have to face your children one day.
Looking forward to hearing you…
An Egyptian Youth

Thank you for this.
Related: If we took care of our infrastructure, our education, or our health care the way we design and impliment our crony sponsored war machinery (based on description of the warship), we wouldn't be losing to China even as we speak.

big war canoe ...
I am so reassured by the government (secrecy and lies) that we are on a humanitarian and possible rescue mission in the Middle East otherwise there is a possibility of a whole lot of innocent people that are going to be killed. Curiously, the US Embassy in Egypt has gone unscathed.
The fact is we have a secret shadow government that has puppet regimes, secret military pacts and trade agreements with other countries that the American people know nothing about (and people think we still live in a Democracy).
The United States military is the “big guns” for Big Oil/ World Banksters and WE are in the Middle East to do Big Oil’s dirty work for them as usual, for get about spreading Freedom, Liberty and Democracy, our government no longer even alludes to that. Ha. Ha.
The most recent example of secret trade agreements is World Banksters entering the Chinese Communist financial market with the booty that was stolen from us. Remember Chairman Hu, during his recent visit, when he humiliated Obama and the US by presenting a Chinese Revolution tune that depicted that the Chinese will destroy the US (Chinese humor, how they must despise corrupt banksters). Well, shortly after that visit, Communist China opened up to the criminal banksters and their “sophisticated financial instruments” [fraud] in exchange for letting the Communist bankers directly into the US economy (who knows what else the bankster criminals sold out or agreed to).
This secret agreement, probably brought about by the Banksters, US Chamber of Commerce, Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, Obama and the CIA, has been kept from the American people. Our Free Press that was once the guard for our Democracy and Freedom is dead so the truth is only found on the internet.
*nods* while reading windcatcher's excellent post, which will no doubt be picking up some mega-phoney action junks later. . .
Sound of gagging...
Macstibs stated that there are approx 90,000 americans in egypt, I dont know if he's right or not but assuming he is, I would guess that most of them are gov employes, so what are they there for, if not for military (occupation) purposes, so again I ask what are they there for. what are we really getting from egypt, hot women?
Well, we send a shitload of aid to Egypt. Somebody must need to be there to dole out the dole.
Clearly, we are trying to turn a warship 180 degrees in five minutes (metaphorically speaking). Fail.

Genada again? From Wikipedia:
1983: Invasion of Grenada by the U.S. and OECS military Main article: Invasion of GrenadaMembers of the Eastern Caribbean Defence Force during the Invasion of Grenada.
Some years later a dispute developed between Bishop and certain high-ranking members of the NJM. Though Bishop was cooperating with Cuba and the USSR on various trade and foreign policy issues, he sought to maintain a "non-aligned" status. Bishop had been taking his time making Grenada wholly socialist, encouraging private-sector development in an attempt to make the island a popular tourist destination. Hardline Marxist party members, including Communist Deputy Prime Minister Bernard Coard, deemed Bishop insufficiently revolutionary and demanded that he either step down or enter into a power sharing arrangement.[citation needed]
On October 19, 1983, Bernard Coard and his wife Phyllis, backed by the Grenadian Army, led a coup against the government of Maurice Bishop, who was placed under house arrest. These actions led to street demonstrations in various parts of the island. Bishop had massive support among the population and was eventually freed by a large demonstration in the capital. When Bishop attempted to resume power, he was captured and executed by soldiers along with seven others, including government cabinet ministers. The Coard regime then put the island under martial law.[citation needed]
After the execution of Bishop, the People's Revolutionary Army formed a military government with General Hudson Austin as chairman. The army declared a four-day total curfew during which it said that anyone leaving their home without approval would be shot on sight.[4]
The overthrow of a moderate government by one which was strongly pro-communist worried U.S. President Ronald Reagan. Of particular concern was the presence of Cuban construction workers and military personnel building a 10,000-foot (3,000 m) airstrip on Grenada. Though Bishop had claimed the purpose of the airstrip was to allow commercial jets to land, U.S. military analysts believed the only reason for constructing an abnormally long, reinforced runway was for the use of heavy military transport planes.[5] Reagan was worried that Grenada would be used by Cuba under the direction of the Soviet Union as a refueling stepping stone for Cuban and Soviet airplanes loaded with weapons destined for Central American communist insurgents.[6]
On October 25, Grenada was invaded by combined forces from the United States, the Regional Security System (RSS) and Jamaica, in an operation codenamed Operation Urgent Fury. The U.S. stated this was done at the behest of Dame Eugenia Charles, of Dominica. While the Governor-General, Sir Paul Scoon, later stated that he had also requested the invasion, it was highly criticised by HM Queen Elizabeth II and the governments of the United Kingdom, Trinidad and Tobago and Canada. The United Nations General Assembly condemned it as "a flagrant violation of international law"[7] by a vote of 108 in favor to 9, with 27 abstentions.[8] The United Nations Security Council considered a similar resolution, which failed to pass when vetoed by the United States.[citation needed]
After the invasion of the island nation, the pre-revolutionary Grenadian constitution was resumed. Eighteen members of the PRG and the PRA (army) were arrested after the invasion on charges related to the murder of Maurice Bishop and seven others. The eighteen included the top political leadership of Grenada at the time of the execution as well as the entire military chain of command directly responsible for the operation that led to the executions. Fourteen were sentenced to death, one was found not guilty and three were sentenced to forty-five years in prison. The death sentences were eventually commuted to terms of imprisonment. Those in prison have become known as the Grenada 17.
So they need an aircraft carrier to evacuate Americans? Uh huh...
Help the cause Help ObamaNation buy more War Bonds!! (When will this sh*t stop) We need to stay the Fu*k out of other counties internal sh*t. Look what we did for the county and the people of Iran in the 80' I'm sure they appreciate what we did for them to change there country for the better.
You need to have a brain twist.
This isn't about other countries. It's about OIL. The OIL we need to keep flowing to feed the machines that run our world here in the US and it's about Israel.
OIL ISRAEL OIL ISRAEL OIL ISRAEL
Get your head around it.
Evacuate? Huh, huh. Green shoots again from eating rotten bananas...
Honey, Hush! We have the biggest dick, I mean BOAT and we have to show it off! Its not about oil, Iraq is not about oil, if we wanted it why haven't we taken it? We want the price UP so Bush can make more $$$ off his Texas crude, don't you get it? You people have been Fooled, Bamboozled, Hoodwinked. Who cares about Egypt? Or any Americans who are there because they don't wanna be here, until now. Too bad. You need to SHUT DOWN The Military. You need to SHUT DOWN The Federal Reserve. You need to SHUT DOWN Congress and The Ethanol Initiative before it raises the price for Hooter's Wings even more. I can't think of ANYTHING good The Government has done in the last 10 years now that President Obama's health care bill is toast. If there's an antidote for Viagra, please send it to Washington, DC.
How naive....you can't shut down any of those entititties.
You need to shut down the people behind the curtain who insist on keeping them. And good luck with that.
Find 'em and eliminate them. And good luck with that too.
Talking about shutting down multi-century old institutions is like telling your kid after she gets pregnant, she should have worn her rubbers. Less than useless.
Think about Abraham Lincoln trying to turn back slavery. As hard as he tried with diplomacy, outstanding over the top speechifying, general agreement among most civilized men and women, north and south.
And in the end the only thing that ended slavery was 700,000 dead yankees and rebs, and another 1,000,000 maimed, wounded and injured. Rivers of blood and bellies, bile and guts strewn all over the landscape from Missouri to georgia.
And that was just to end a relatively benign freedom issue.
Imagine what it would now take to end the FED, an institution of global control, with secret meetings, handshakes, signals, and all the will in the world, all the power to run the world right at the end of its finger tips with the a few mouse clicks and some zeros entered from the number pad.
Swing I'm with you on this but all these junks you're getting from spineless people that dont put their name to their reply only show that we've got a LONG way to go, and must fall a LOT further before more people come to their senses and also agree with you.
You work for Mossad, right?
Forget the idea of US navy there to evac US citizens, only a few politically significant would be evacd, navy there to keep suez open.
dont forget the 5x av8b's, only evacuating they help with is the targets bowels.
What would you guys have the world's only superpower do in a situation like this?
The Middle-East is unstable. In the past week or so, how many talking heads have referenced the region as a "powder keg?" Have readers here forgotten what the US REALLY stands for?
OLIVE BRANCH EXTENDED, ARROWS AT THE READY. (This comes from the Great Seal of the United States...look at the Eagle.)
How would readers here feel is other Navys were moving in? What if the Russians or the Chinese sent ships and troops in ahead of ours? How would world markets be reacting then?
This is what we do in times of crisis. We project American power and George, there isn't an Army, Navy or Airforce that's a close second in this regard. (No one is even talking about where our submarines might be.)
Somewhere today Bernanke is probably happy as situations like this make many nations realize "they want us on that wall...they need us on that wall." (Jack Nicholson, in A Few Good Men.) So you had better buy our currency and bonds.
There may be some question as to whether the US will retain its technological edge, or its political purity, but there is little question that we will retain our global military and its what allows the rest of the federal system to spend and tax like morons. Its what allows the sell-side to float trillions in ridiculous securitized paper. Its what allows us to enjoy Super Bowl Sunday.
