Name one example where I have ever "Blown my own horn."  Just one.  As for useful comments, you are correct - I gave up.  But I feel history will vindicate me if I can somehow help put an end to the inordinate amount of shmucks sadly trying to insert their own blogs through the comments section of ZH.

And that is the last you will ever hear from me on the subject.  I said what I had to say.

Congrats, Tyler & Marla.  You deserve it.

look, man sorry for the insults, i went a bit overboard. we can both agree that there are some people here ( all of them Anons ) who either deliberately troll this sight because they have an agenda for doing so, or they just heard about ZH on CNBC and decided that trolling is cool. And the best thing that can be done about that is to make creating a profile obligatory, no exceptions no nothing, also to introduce rating system of TU and TD ... just go on any more complex article and witness how Anons either spam, or troll, or are just provoke with deliberate stupidity. It pisses me off, but there is no point in insulting people, because there are some individuals here ( all of them with a profile ) who can either produce a great content of valuable data, or can bring a new perspective to a subject which is being discussed, or have a potential expertise in some other particular field which can shine a new light on the topic which is being discussed. Again, I'm sorry if i insulted you, i can get a little irrational at times, and unpleasant.

TD,

This was a most cool interview, great read, and very tasteful scroll

awarding you the best blog of the year. What amazes me is the

volume and quality of posts each day, its mind-boggling and humbling,

even knowing there are 4 main contributors.

And by the by, no one quite gets the meteoric rise of your blogs popularity, even with well-desrved top honors notwithstanding. All spectator mouths are agape at the growth rate of ZH.

And a tip of the hat to Marla.

Being the humble soul that he is, I have not heard Tyler plug this much:

It was my first exposure to him...

Congrats TD and ZH team! (Many thanks for the great reporting!!)

Yeah, the rabbit hole is deep... and "fight club" goes way back:

"Two armies, commanded by Jefferson and Hamilton, carried on this war all through the 1790s. Wall Street, literally and figuratively, was again and again the terrain on which they fought."

[Every Man a Speculator, Steve Fraser, 2005]

We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgment of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
And I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again

Change it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the fall that's all
But the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they all flown in the last war

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
And I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
For I know that the hypnotized never lie

Do ya?

There's nothing in the street
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now the parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Congratulations.

To everybody!

I must concur with previous suggestions that there needs to be some kind of comment screening or rating system to eliminate the profanity, lunatic ad hominem nonsense and hatefulness that has become more prevalent here as ZH popularity has exploded.

I am not against anybody voicing an opionion (informed or otherwise) however there should be certain standards applied to keep the dialog here civilized.

As I have stated in previous posts, I came here to learn. But I find that I everyday I have to filter through more and more nonsense in order to get to what I consider the informative and meaningful dialog that one finds here.

I am not some trader, quant or professional that works the street. I am a scientist. I am trying to stay reasonably informed about what IMHO are some of the most important sociopolitical developments in my lifetime. I found here a source of information that wasn't available to me before, or perhaps it was, I just never new where to look....

IMHO commenters should be required to register, (anonymously if desired) sign the manifesto and adhere to a common standard of reason and deceny or what has made this place very special will very swiftly disappear.

Something special is happening here.

"Educate your children to self-control, to the habit of holding passion and prejudice and evil tendencies subject to an upright and reasoning will, and you have done much to abolish misery from their future and crimes from society."

Benjamin Franklin
