Can someone please recommend a reliable up-to-the-second gold/silver spot chart site please?

I normally use Kitco but I'm tired of theirs...it seems to lag CNBC's (also unreliable) and crashes at inopportune times

...the silverseek dot com live 1 hour chart has updates about every three minutes and has a forum to read to satisfy ones' insatiable desires to advocate and despise the precious metal...and i agree with you on the kitco-nadler-nonsense, however their page today looks as close to a metals page as i have ever seen (and that's being nice)...and for the record, i'm not connected to either in any way...i'm just looking for the ticker and charts.

I use http://www.kitco.com/kcastwindows/

It's very inconspicuous so I installed it on my work computer. A small read-out on the taskbar, near the clock. Updates every few seconds (I think 5 seconds). (not compatible with Windows 7 though)

Kitco's is a tad slower than most.

If you Right Click on the price of any metal, and click on rearrange, it will upgrade to latest.

But it is really good for making sure you do not miss a dip, if you are on your puter a lot.

I find it very interesting that the secondary dealers "lag time" for new silver has been steadily climbing recently-  at the start of November I was hearing 2-3 weeks.  By Nov 21 when I was looking around to place another order, it was 3-6 weeks at different dealers.  Now you are hearing 8 weeks delivery time?

Hey Crimex-  your operation is lurching and shuddering, smoke pouring from the hood, giving off a grinding sound of metal on metal. Ease off, Ripley.

I got this yesterday from Northwest Territorial Mint:

"Thank you for your inquiry.  Your order #xxxxxxxx is currently scheduled to ship this week, however I am quite certain this order will be delayed.  We are currently producing at full capacity but due to the very high demand we are seeing delays of an additional 2-3 weeks on many items."

I've been waiting for 2 months already.

Yeah, NWTM has good prices and good service, but always seems to have much delayed delivery times.  I strongly suggest www.apmex.com for PM.  Their prices and service are just as good, they usually ship within 1 to 3 days, and have always done so for us (4 times).  Every item states expected delivery, so just choose something in stock.

Fri, 12/03/2010 - 11:13 | 775289 trav7777
trav7777's picture

you take what supply you can and roll the cash plus premium.

When nickel shorts on LME went into default a few years ago, LME forced longs to lease the nickel to the shorts.  Basically they cash-settled the whole thing out.  That's what COMEX will do.

It is not INTENDED as a place to actually buy the metals that are traded.  Maybe that was some obsolete historical purpose of a futures market, but no more.  If you really want a gazillion ounces, you have to negotiate with a miner or a government.  Going long x contracts on NYMEX won't cut it.

Go withdraw the "money" you have in your bank.  All of it.  In cash.  Today.  Keep some if you want, buy gold if you want, doesn't matter.

5% withdrawals in cash = destruction of the banksters.  Reset, and start again.

if you own a business, pass on your rapidly depreciating bucks to your suppliers.

you can also open a brokerage account and put extra cash in it to keep it out of the hands of the large banks.

a truly stable financial system would not have commercial banks lending out money. they should charge money to keep your money safe and ready to be spent.

the distinction between commercial and investment (risk-taking) banks have been blurred. and unfortunately, now all of our money is stuck in the ponzi-scheme unless you withdraw it.

Hey Tyler:

1.  It takes about 45 minutes for the true market direction to emerge on jobs Friday.  And historically, gold gets screwed on jobs friday.

2.  This thing about chickens, eggs, hatched.

3.  Gold has had two huge bear raids (yesterday and last night), I wouldn't be shocked for a third.

It's a bubble and yes you can't eat it baby and the Indians won't buy and the IMF will sell.....Soros will sell what he didn't have in the first place because it's in a bubble but if he had he would sell it but he's secretly buying, or jusr saying he's secretly buying the bubble because he's secretly telling Warren that he's not buying secretly

It may have a few pullbacks of $2-$300.00 before this train arrives.

Only way it ever see's $200.00 again is if China and India stop their splurges, and Russia also, not to mention the other asian economies.

And (the most HUGE miracle of all), a total turn around globally in all economies, and balanced budgets.Consumer confidence returns, and Unicorns graze on the White House lawn.

Or, worst case scenario, Gv't says thanks for storing it, and paying for it,we want it ALL, and at $42.00.

Or else.

YOU will be a SERF or die.

Looks like they need another broad market sell off to attempt to stifle metals prices. Either that or Silver @ 35.00 in exchange for Dow 11,600.

Its like a Jigsaw trap for The Bernank. Make your choice.
