In Anticipation Of Our Own "Department Of Truth" ...

Tyler Durden's picture

All those who believe (erroneously) that the Department of Truth is just a euphemism, guess again. Below we share some of the recent highlights that the Chinese central propaganda bureau is attempting to keep secret from the public. One can only weep at the "efficiency" of our own propaganda masters. Luckily, they are quickly learning from the best.

From China Digital Times

The following examples of censorship instructions,
issued to the media and/or Internet companies by various central (and
sometimes local) government authorities, have been leaked and
distributed online. Chinese journalists and bloggers often refer to
those instructions as “Directives from the .”
CDT has collected the selections we translate here from a variety of
sources and has checked them against official Chinese media reports to
confirm their implementation.

#1 in China is to keep the military happy.  They aren't just armed forces, they are a huge business cartel with mafia-like power.

which is way different than our system...

Slightly off-topic.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-03-08/rajaratnam-trial-brings-early-defense-victory-and-a-question-lloyd-who-.html

Of the first 40 potential jurors questioned by Holwell this morning, only eight had heard of Rajaratnam. The judge, after privately questioning those eight, concluded that only one of them should be excused from the case.

Holwell read the names of dozens of people who will testify or be mentioned during the trial, and asked the group whether they had heard of any of them.

The names mentioned included Goldman Sachs Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Blankfein, who may be a witness for the prosecution. Not a single juror had heard of Blankfein, who testified before Congress last year about his firm’s role in the 2008 financial crisis.

And the judge mispronounced Blankfein’s name. Instead of pronouncing the second syllable as “fine,” Holwell rhymed it with “bean.”

The very well informed masses are obviously about to start a revolution in the U.S.

We'll soon also have a Circumlocution Office too... with Timmmeh holding the title of Lord Decimus Barnacle

"The Circumlocution Office was (as everybody knows without being told) the most important Department under Government. No public business of any kind could possibly be done at any time without the acquiescence of the Circumlocution Office. Its finger was in the largest public pie, and in the smallest public tart. It was equally impossible to do the plainest right and to undo the plainest wrong without the express authority of the Circumlocution Office." (from Little Dorrit: Book 1, Chap 10)

In the US it is much easier. The department of propaganda (called AP and Reuters)simple gives the lazy and corrupt mainstream media the exact stories to report. The never have to tell the MSM what not to print.

Democracy in MENA? Sarcasm?

There never will be democracy in MENA. Even if they adopted "western democracy" it wouldnt change sh*t. You think your vote counts?

Thanks for the correction.

Great Game is it not.

First King of Iraq really wanted to be the King of Syria.

The French were having none of it so the British gave him Iraq.

And the hits just keep on coming.

You can't make this up.

I will say this.

What is happening in MENA now is not happening as a matter of accident.

Somebody somewhere has got to spend (repatriate) dollar reserves before the dollar becomes worthless.

Tick Tock Tick Tock.

I honestly dont understand the hype in the Western media - either blowhards or erudite historians like Ferguson - proclaiming China being the next global empire. Utter BS. They print more than Gen Ben and own almost as many dollars as he does , meanwhile they import a large amount of food and fuel and are building for a World that simply will not exist. At the same time their military is a joke for a country of over 1 billion. Theyre going to suffer another revolution before they even get close to exerting serious geo-political power and they know it.

They're fking egomaniac paranoid retards.  And theyre still buying Treasuries. And if they stop , so what. In a game of high speed chicken between China and the West (namely the US) there is only one winner.

Everyone in the World is going to get poorer , dont buy into the "China will rule the World" BS.

Their not stupid because they know they have to continue their accumulation of the US papers. If they don't, they will be reminded from time to time. What's happening in MENA is nothing but a little reminder, for example.

I think I disagree.

Something is going on. And it's not freedom.

There's something happening here.

And what it is ain't exactly clear.

More chess than fightclub perhaps.

I agree with you wholehardly. How can a nation with 1 billion people deal with lets say 9.5-10% unemplyment! How in the hell will they feed all these people. How can they deal with hyperinflation and massive discontent? China is overhyped, their government is full of paranoid communist who live in the past. China will go through another revoultion which will be more bloodier then the last one. The world is heading towards a time of being apolar,in other words there will be no superpower. So China is will not be a global superpower,it will collapse into a bloody civil war.

"How can a nation with 1 billion people deal with lets say 9.5-10% unemplyment!"

No offence. But how can a "nation" of 300 million deal with that.

"How in the hell will they feed all these people."

"How can they deal with hyperinflation and massive discontent?"

Any nation with unemplyment 9.5-10% has it bad. If a nation with 1 billion citizens has 10% unemployment will have 100,000,000 people with out a job. That by itself is a nightmare. The US has a lot of problems and its massive debt binge will lead to our collapse. However I for one do not see China being the next global superpower as everyone hype them up to be. We could enter a world where there is no superpower and it could be a neo dark ages. If China wants to be a hyperpower they need alot of reforms in their economy, government, and military to do so.

What if... China had a revolution next?  Would all the treasuries thier govt bought go to the winners of the revolution or would they not exist anymore?
