Anxiety Gripping Pai Gow Gamers

RobotTrader's picture

Another brutal selloff in the Shanghai last night left many retail stock speculators (aka Pai Gow players) stunned and in shock, frozen with fear.

Must be hilarious to see the look on the faces of those who chased those IPO's that were 6x and 7x oversubscibed:

Not much more to report today, other than more of the same Wildebeest chasing.

Aug.
18 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. and European stocks rallied after several banks
were upgraded and Home Depot and Target reported less than expected
losses.  Traders celebrated by pitching dollars and U.S. Treasuries
over the side and embraced risk by scooping up penny stock bargains of
companies on the verge of bankruptcy.

Aug. 19 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. and Asian stocks gapped down sharply,
after a concerns of weakness in China caused investors to adopt a more defensive position.  Traders immediately threw risk assets over the side and once again fleed to the safety of gilt-edged, AAA-rated Treasury bonds.

Meanwhile, traders remained glued to their screens.  What were they looking at?

Crude oil prices?  No.

Bank stock performance?  No.

Currency movements?  No.

American Axle going up another 17%?  No.

Everyone was watching the delicious Amanda Drury, who keeps tantalizing the viewers with alternate views of her blouse, depending on market performance.

Note how she was rather conservative during the big selloff two days ago:

Yesterday, the market was rocketing up most of the day as Goldman was vaporizing some puts.  Amanda let it loose a bit.....

Today, things were a little mixed, but biased towards the upside.  Amanda joined the CNBC parade of anchorettes wearing sexy red blouses, similar to the one Erin "B-Cups" Burnett was wearing recently.

Wall St. was bracing to see if we would get a last hour meltup, which would undoubtedly pop the next button on that blouse and unleash an orgy:

If the market is up a little more tomorrow morning, what will Amanda wear tomorrow?  Maybe if we are lucky, we'll see this.....

"Reuters

The stock market shook off early losses Wednesday and turned higher, led by a surge in energy stocks amid signs that demand for oil may be rising."

thanks ROBO, I got it now:

every time she lightens up.. the energy of turned on monitors requires increasing supply of oil...or it might be a mouse clicking action.

If you believe in the China growth remember that BAC sold their stake in a Chines bank last quarter. Not much press on that one.

When a bank that large leaves the country it says more than "we need to raise some cash"

It says "we need to report earnings, not losses this Q2."  And that one-time sale gain resulting in the "earnings beat" instead of "big losses" was reported by a grand total of about 5 journalists (ZH being one).

Wonder how many Hi-Fi traders have been gaming this one?

Which way, which way?

Here's a classic Goldman pump and shank job.  PetsMart runs up prior to earnings on another infamous "cup and handle" breakout pattern, thousands of hedge funds jump on it thinking its going to be another TGT.

Then bam, stock craters down to $20 after hours on earnings, leaving hundreds of Investor's Business Daily traders left in the lurch.

Keep an eye on the Regional Bank index, possible J-Lo bottom on the intraday today:

Another example of a stock foolishly gamed by the Goldman Prop Desk.

Daytraders using the Investor Business Daily technique of "buying breakouts from sound bases" gun this oil service stock right off the 50-day:

Then some Chop House is hired to "downgrade ESV due to valuation" or something.  Stock promptly fails and everyone who bought the breakout bails:

And of course, that's when Goldman picks up the stock, then they Heatmap it up back over the 50-day.

GOTCHA!!!

Picture of referenced IBD Mo-Mo trader after being fleeced on ESV:

Are we going to correct to the 200-day on SPY at 960?  Or do we take off from here?

I'm watching these.

Either a J-Lo-Bottom, or we get another leg down tomorrow?

This better turn up, or we are in trouble.
