Average National Gas Prices Drop By 0.9 Cents
According to AAA, the national average gas price has inversely plunged by 0.9 cents overnight. The culprits: terrorist refinery companies and mom and pop gas station operators who welcome the days of positive margins. That is all.

The SE version is a little better. I regularly save .40 to .50 per gal. my personal max. was .65 x 20 gals.

Numerous credit cards offer 5% cash back on gas purchases + getting at sams or kroger or some of the likes are often discounted $.10+ from standard prices around here anyway (and we're about $3.70 atm on avg.)
But, the neat part, if you drive out of your way to get the discount, you negate the discount unless you get an ungodly mpg around town... (many people seem to lose this concept).
Macho, I did forget to qualify that I only get that once a month.
I ditched the plastic last year, and have had a club membership for 8 years. Most of my savings on food come from the big monthly buy. Having an extra freezer, vacuum sealer, and canning what comes from my postage stamp sized garden doesn't hurt either.
Saving $20 per month on gas is just icing on the cake.

I depends, but on average you should be able to buy a bag of dorito's with the gains of 2 fill up's.
If I am to believe I can save about 2 dollars for a fill up that means I can buy about 1/20th an ounce of silver. At least that 2 dollars would be well "spent" (saved).

Almost 30 cents worth of backwardation in the Sept contract for RBOB. Front month is up 6 cents today.
In India, fuel prices are centrally set with an artificially lowered Diesel price and hig (very high) petrol price.
I suppose, giggles and all, we will look back at these days, when we were laughing at 9 cent moves, while standing in the fuel ration line of a 5 gallon can per family of 4 per week.

I remeber when diesel was 1.25 a gallon, hell i was paying 1.75 not 2 years ago in fort collins.....
But it ends up being more adding all the additive needed to make sure your rig doesnt get destroyed by btu-less and non-lubricating NO sulphur fuel, but thats ok, they will add the same alumina and other life destroying crap to the diesel like they do to the jetfuel.
fwiw, i was getting 19mpg on old #2 un-aided and now lucky to get 15mpg with some liquid muscle..

It's all over the local news here in Boston the last few days...gas prices have started to go down, and 'analysts expect that they will go down (the prices, not the analysts) another 50 cents by summer due to high supplies, easing Middle East tensions and DC pressure.
Many breathless standup TV reports from gas stations and interviews with witless proles whose scratch ticket habits have been curtailed due to 4 dollar gas. Had to laugh when WTI went back over $100 yesterday...no reports of that though.
How long ago were the contracts for this gas purchased? It just seems really strange when price increases are perfectly, immediately, and directly reflected in the gasoline market whereas price decreases tend to take much longer to work through... or maybe it's just selective perception...
