BaNZai7 PReSeNTS: DeBT CeiLiNG SUMO WReSTLiNG

williambanzai7's picture

Sumo appears in the earliest histories of Japan, the Nihon Shoki and the Kojiki, and in early Shinto.

By the end of the Heian period (794-1185), it was established as a court ritual for some three hundred years. In the later feudal periods, it was occasionally used as a method of resolving political disputes by sending forth sumo wrestlers to decide the issue; rather similar to the feudalistic European practice of using Eurotcrats to decide the right of an issue in a trial by morons.

It's a Ponzi throw down.  They will miraculessly come to a Fiat solution which of course is no solution and worse there will be no outline for reaching one.

If the money is debt (which it is), created out of thin air, at interest, where does the money come from to pay the interest?  That's right; more fiat money must be created and default is built into the system.  It is by design a classic PONZI scheme.

"Money is loaned into existence and defaulted out of existence." –

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain... Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghost?...
Did you exchange
A walk on part in the war,
For a lead role in a cage?...

Lots of great new items in the shop folks.

Just remember, this is the only place on the internet where you get Debt Brother from Planet 0 and Boner fighting in a Sumo match while Geither is about to get eaten by a shark and Bernank's face is covered with angry bees. ;-)

As I get older my spatial awareness and mental agility is diminishing. So I downloaded the picture, then rotated it 180 degrees to get a good look at the faces on the two sumo wrestlers.

Then I threw up.

Better late than never I always say.

i see the Japanese girls beat the US in soccer. (How did I know that was going to happen? The psychic elephant picked Japan? Elephant? hmmm?)

if the debt ceiling farce has a silver lining, (silver, hmmm?) its that we get to see the differences between the two parties acted out in the media.

the GOP will try to extract the greatest spending cuts, on the shortest amount of time. That is if they win new spending cuts I feel it is likely they will propose lots of new spending, (on their pet projects) so they can hit the debt limit again, and cut spending again, (on social services).

this is like the penalty kick phase of a soccer game, or watching Phil Mickleson miss a one foot putt, after he completely reinvented his game to compete in the conditions over in Scotland. Then he misses a one foot putt. (debt ceiling? putt?, hmmm?)

- two Sumo words to remember: tatamae means "the surface of things," and honne means "real truth".  (Freakonomics has a great piece on Sumo)

If you have ever watched Sumo, it is periods of intense boredom followed by intense action. Sometimes the wrestllers grab each other bt their belts and have what looks like a stalemate. But sooner or later someone gets thrown out of the ringl

Say what you want about ancient rituals and romantic notions of honor and courage. I think the Japanese, like so many other cultures, just like to watch fat people fall down and see the shock waves run through their fat bodies. And the ground shaking reminds them of earthquakes at 2 AM.

Just sayin'  :)

Excuse me, but I resemble that.

I have not lost my balls. I carry them in my pocketbook wherever I go. The only time they leave my possession is when I show them to my masters.

Take it back. Now! You take it back or I'll tell my bankster on you.

Where's the beef? Oh, there it is.

BTW Banzai7, while I always enjoy your perspective on the present day insanity, this isn't exactly what I was looking for.

BTW2 the best part of this image is looking at the faces in the crowd. Don't they remind you of all the mindless Americans calmly watching our world come apart in between reruns of the A-Team O-Team sumo match? Present company excluded of course. Like any self respecting red blooded American, I've already started to panic.
