Belgium €2.7 Bn Bond Auction Results: Bid To Cover Drops, Yields Jump

Tyler Durden's picture

Belgian bund spreads this morning are modestly tighter, at 81 bps, down 6 bps on the day, after Belgium completed a "successful" bond auction, which was no doubt intermediated by the ECB, as has been the case in all the problematic European bond issues over the past six months. As to how successful it was, the broad drop in the Bid To Cover, coupled with the surge in interest rates, especially in the 3 year, leaves quite a few open questions. Below are the results.

  • €0.752bln, 4.25% 28-Sep-13, bid/cover 3.09 vs. Prev. 3.39 (yield 1.599% vs. Prev. 0.933%)
  • €0.805bln, 2.75% 28-Mar-16, bid/cover 2.80 vs. Prev. 2.69 (yield 2.503% vs. Prev. 2.322%)
  • €1.190bln, 3.75% 28-Sep-20, bid/cover 2.39 vs. Prev. 2.55 (yield 3.26% vs. Prev. 3.137%)

Belgium: highest density of pedophilia and a dirty, ugly city with lackluster food and not so friendly people. Out of all the places personally travelled in the world, Belgium easily ranks among the worst on many levels.

Yep, Belgian.  From East Flanders, Ghent.

The part of Belgium where the people have the highes education level in Europe, where they work the hardest and most productive in Europe.

The part that want's to get rid of the Wallon part :)

We pay over 53% taxes in order to support that part. They have a unemployment rate of 74% and it's been like that for over 80 years now.

Whenever we will be able to get rid of them, our taxes will drop between 20 to 32%.

For them it's a bit of a nightmare, because they really don't have a source of income and don't have a industry or any kind.

They tried to get annexed by France, but France doesn't want them. And now we want to get rid of them because they are turning this country into troubles.

And in the comming 2 weeks our country could be split up. That's why the bond auctions turn out so bad. It kind of scares foreign investors.

And as the capital of Europe (Brussels) , that isn't a good example.

And let's face it. Belgium isn't really a country. It's more of a French colony.

I was "hoping" that interest rates would finally jump higher. That would perhaps create some sense of urgency in our politician minds to start forming a government. We live basically without one since June 2007 (which is also testimony to the relevancy of a federal government of course)

But they rescued the main banks in between and appointed "plumber" Jean-Luc The Dick as their well paid saver? By the way, beer giant AB InBev pays him even more as independent administrator for the use of his favourite statement: "no comment".

It's not about race. We all have the same ancestors.

It's about mentality and ancient French supremacy from the Napoleon era that we want to get rid of.

And that part of Belgium still thinks it's the 1700's.

Belgium is a wonderful country, and bi-lingual Brussels (French and Dutch speaking) is one of the best capitals in Europe in which to live.

The country is not breaking up. It is like Canada, separation is always talked about and has been for decades, but never done. Now is just an intense phase of the chatter, like in Canada in the 1990s. Belgium will once more soon be re-organised a little, as does happen every now and then.

Concretely, EU won't let a break-up take place here, too symbolic for the EU itself.

But for all you Belgium-bashers to have a chuckle, here is that Monty Python routine, 'Prejudice', in which they try to come up with a derogatory name for the Belgians:

Instead of fighting each other while living so tighly packed together as we do in Europe we'd better figure out how to create some sort of local unity in which we try to assist each other in surviving the disaster racing in our direction. And then forget about the EU-idea, these f*&kers are only into power and money for themselves, only on a slightly bigger-than-national scale..

Somehow there is many people in Europe still living in a dream-state in which they 'have a right' to a decent life with an income sufficient to pay the rent, heat, water, food and so forth. Meanwhile offering nothing in return for it. The government will take care of us.... Sure... But, this is not the way it works anymore.. Especially since the banks fooled the at-least-as-stoopid politicians into believing that the banks needed and deserved a similar support from 'the state' when they were in trouble (after they lied and cheated everything into 'private enteprises' to be able to drain the last drop of income, pensions and savings from the people they 'serve' with their 'products'). Next up to do the same: politicians, to pay back the banks....

Problem is, stoopid politicians fell for it and thus wasted the solvency of many (if not all) governments and thus the 'free-for-all' times are now over. But this is not talked about.. no.. The politicians and bankers know that as soon as the people realize this is for real, no way around it, dead-end, game over, the political parties will all be judged-tried and punished for it by the people during any next election, to say the least. If the politicians and banksters are that lucky... (If it were up to me I'd suggest making fertilizer out of all of them, put them to actual use for once, but hey... )

It makes no difference anymore. It's a done deal. Punishing the arconist doesn't bring back the house burned down already.. The only thing that matters is how to proceed from here. And how to prevent the same mistakes from happening again. You all seem to be willing to learn how to do that.. maybe teach others what you learned  instead of yelling at you neighbour for whatever stupid reason. Try talking with eachother and help yourself and them understand the situation we're all in, together.. Forget about the politicians, they are done. Help yourself and your neighbour if you can. This is the only way to get trough what's coming...

Good luck all..
