Breaking: Bank Protesters Storm Irish Parliament - Yesterday Greece, Today Ireland, Tomorrow ?

Tyler Durden's picture

From the Belfast Telegraph

Banks protesters storm Irish parliament

Protesters have stormed parliament during a march against government plans to inject billions of euros into the country's banks.

Dozens of people broke away from the march and ran at the gates of the parliament's main building, Leinster House.

They wrestled with police, who tried to force them back and secure the gate.

At least one man suffered a head injury during the scuffles with organisers appealing for calm.

Perhaps my tolerance threshold for these innocent comments is artificially low. I own a small business and have been conditioned to rebuke even the slightest of comments. If I allow any intolerance in the workplace, I end up in court and lose everything. It's a gut reaction at this point.

IMHO, it's most productive to laugh at, and ignore, the super-structure.

What are you going to do?  The system is ridiculous.  The do not govern with my consent, so I merely see them as illegitimate.  They can attempt to rule with force, at which point one can respond.  One can resist in proportion to the level with which one disagrees.

Civil disobedience will come to a city near you, but until then, the central planning elitests can just be the nut-jobs shouting out into the night.  Why give them such power over your life?

Why give them such power over your life?

Give? They pointed a freakin' gun at my head. I feel it each and everytime I pay taxes. Having to pay taxes is the same as being robbed at gunpoint. I guess it will hit home to most people when the government demands taxes even though they don't have enough to eat.

True, taxes are the one thing that's tough to avoid (because they are so good at seizing property).

However, the stakes are bigger, and it's a temporary problem:  Taxes cannot support current debt service, and US sovereign default is imminent.  For everything other than taxes, civil disobedience is the national pastime.

So, I agree that they can currently make you suffer.  My only consolation is that you won't need to wait very long before they will be revealed as impotent.

Then, US citizens will understand why the French invented the guillotine (right about the time the checks stop showing up in the mailboxes).

Agree wholeheartedly.  I know a good many people who have been, and are going, nowhere in life.  They smoke weed all day while watching sports or some other nonsense.  Abject failures through and through, but armed to the core nonetheless.  They may have no idea what they are fighting for, but their arms throw lead the same as any other.

The chaos will stem from this being a race war.  As the economy and society come crumbling down, these barely veiled tensions will boil to the surface with such vigor as to have Little Boy and Fat Man shamed in envy.

Let them do it? Arent the powers to be granted more than in reality?

Divide and conquer and we've thrived on it as I dont remember that for example racial segregation was that loathed by the white US majority. On the contrary...

Same for land grabbing. The elite did not push people to settle on indian lands. Often, the ruling elite had to take notice of land settling.

In the US, the elite has served the best interests of the white majority without compelling the white majority in any kind of scheme. Main trouble is probably that. The scheme used is running out and is no longer as satisfying as its yield is peaking.

Your exactly right, spot on.  The govt. knows that too, they have to keep the "checks" coming because when they stop as all of us here know they will, people will go crazy.  It's all theory when you shoot your mouth off and yell get a job to someone who is without but when it's you and you can't even get any checks to help, then it's a disaster.  Remember, most Americans have been kept in a naive state of thinking they are exceptional and only the bad stuff happen to those people.  When it happens to us they will be in literal shock.

I am American.

The deal with Americans is that we like our easy lives and empty entertainment and we bitch about our government and all the stupidity in the MSM, but really we're a violent bunch of fuckers. It's not even "violent deep down" either. We're just violent, bloody-minded, over-armed, half-crazed, dont-tread-on-me hard-ass fuckers. All the god-damned time.

And we're mighty proud of the fact. Obviously.

We also love a gun fight, and we like killing people who deserve it, and we kill them more thoroughly dead than almost anyone else on earth can do. And while we claim to be peace-loving and usually we really are, in the end we enjoy what we do because we're so fucking good at it.

We could kill every mo'fo on the planet if it made sense -- which it does not, so the rest of you got that going for you. We love you, man.

I'm not saying this because I'm a  moron wanker itching for a fight. Because I'm not. I'm saying this so everyone knows the score.

When the American citizenry gets a belly full of this crap & nonsense it is likely to be one of the most memorable moments in human history. Except for the Mongol hordes crossing the Russian Steppes in a thundering line of horses stretching from one dusty horizon to the other, unsheathed steel reflecting the blood sun and ready to devour their enemies in a single fit of unalloyed pleasure -- I said pleasure -- you haven't seen anything.

I have to disagree there.  Certainly there is a violent streak in Americans, but it's more of a depraved love of bloodsport as seen during the decline of Rome, than a brutal warrior society.  That title has to go to the Chinese; a few generations of being passive worker bees under their Communist regime doesn't erase 3,000 years of constant warfare, revolution, and strife.

Your historical analysis is quaint but unfortunately wrong. 80% of the population may as well be considered to be labotomized as they will turn to the 10% working in big govt for protection from the 8% who are terrorizing them while the remaining 2% wonder why they can't get the 80% to simple get up off their couches and take action.  The US will consume itself from within before it can wreak any serious damage abroad.

The USA isn't nearly the most violent society ever... the Aztecs and the Mongols are just two that come to mind.  The Scythians weren't exactly nice either, and Rome could be rather snippy when they were pissed.

Farmville serfs are too busy feeding their virtual selves to care "What is real".  They watch "The Matrix", but can not see "The Matrix".  The hear Jimi, but they do not listen to Jimi.  They hope, they do not act.

Complacency has invited a false consciousness to permeate above the muse, justifying ego with non-sequitur actions.  "All through the day/I Me Mine" has become not only standard behavior, any train of linearity is forbidden.  Thusly light follows light, chasing away contrast.  Magnified is the simplicity of chaos; wheels spin, dirt flies, but what is moving?  I see dirt and wheels only.  The chariot remains static.  So they say, "This is where we live.  This is the promised land."  They remain long fate, and duty, fighting day by day to serve.  Bested seems reductio ad absurdum.  It is not.

We don't pass through the stages of grief here in the US. It will begin in the heartland, guys with guns and tractors will sieze control of their municipalities. There won't be any warning. It may never reach the coasts, but it doesn't have to to end life as we know it.

That sounds like a nervous laugh, and rightly so.  Do you believe the Eksund was an only child?  I would bet there are many more like her that have graced  Ireland's fair shores...free of treachery.

And by the way, friend, one Irish republican on a bank board should not equate to a restful slumber for unionists.   Ever hear of a fox in the hen house?

Finally, the new British PM doesn't have nearly the balls of Thatcher without the 'roids.

I'd wager Paddy Power has pulled in the over-under on the Brits leaving due to nothing more than they are all piss poor.  Something about Icesave?

If a dipshit Yank like me sees the UK's weakness, then damn sure the next Gerry Adams does, too.

Well Cork and its environs traditionally is the centre of any rebellions , Dublin being London's proxy control unit and is now Frankfurt's executive island

Ireland is now a fractured broken society poisoned by liberalism - it no longer has the capacity or cohesion for any prolonged resistance.

At the core of the most effective and dangerous of our patriots were wild geese and some radicalised Anglo Irish  - we no longer have such men.

I am watching the so called storming of our Parliament now - they seem to be left wingers as usual.

Some are probably well meaning but naive and possibly directed by even greater fools.

It seemed a farcical situation where the police were trying to protect their female colleagues - the protesters got a few knocks but were not really hard diamonds.

Ireland is very lightly policed - our police do not normally carry arms and there was a very light police force at the gates of the parliament.

This is not Greece - we have a very small army and police force that is not designed to crush its own people.

Was at my favorite gun store today, browsing around.  AR prices are back on the climb.  Hope you all bought the dip.  More telling, was that the ever growing collection of used Mini's and AK's that were accumulating from trade-ins on AR's, is GONE.  Every last scratched up, wrung out one of them.  Even the "less well armed" aren't doing so bad for themselves.

I bought my AK-47 and my 9mm stainless Beretta some 3 months ago.

I have been trying them out, learning to field strip and clean, etc.  Buying 3 rounds for every 1 I shoot.  A new hobby.

I chose the AK (vs. AR-15), by the way, because it is very forgiving.  A tough nut, it will eat any ammo in the correct size.  Load up the mag, put a round in the chamber, pull the trigger and out it goes.

Beretta 9 is good.  1911 .45 best.  9 is high power- goes through the body and does not cause enough damage -lack the capacity to stop.  A .45  230 grain slug moves slower enters the body and dissipates energy more efficiently stopping - and rarely exiting the body.

Love the M1A. Now also have the RRA LAR8 A4, which I like equally well.

Mid length barrel, but still very accurate and reliable. M1A has iron sights. Holosite

on the RRA. I can't recommend holosites highly enough, especially for the aged!

Both eyes open, great situational awareness, fast target acquisition.....

ACOG does not need batteries.  If you need CR123a, for Holosites or other things like flashlights, then consider this solar charger and water purifier.

ACOG = 1 Au

Aimpoint = 30 Ag

But don't go below Aimpoint - the red dot will last for years on the factory battery! EOtech is fine. M1A is a true battle rifle - I'd almost rather have another M1A than add an ACOG; but it could save your hide in low light.

If by holosite you mean an EOTech, they are nice but not as reliable as the other top options.  I don't care for Aimpoints much.  I recently got an ACOG and it's just about nirvana.  On the lower price scale the Vortex Strikefire is excellent quality for the buck.

So far, so good with the EOTech. target acquisition with the EOTech much faster than ACOG, even with the 3x flipper. But this is close quarter. Will definitely try out ACOG on the Barrett early next year. This years budget is blown...

Just be sure to look up Bindon aiming concept and give it a try sometime.  Which one works best for you depends on how your eyes work in some detail (regardless of age or 20/20 vision).

BTW I have an Eotech 552, love it but have both seen and heard of too many Eotech failures at bad times to have complete confidence in it.  My complete confidence is in irons or an ACOG.  Best comment I've read on the ACOG?  Comparing it to other scopes, commenter noted that among other features the ACOG is "literally bombproof."  And that's accurate if you look into it (depending what size bomb you care to contemplate).

Great choice of the M1A though.
