Bullets Shot At Pentagon From High Powered Rifle

From Bloomberg:
The Pentagon’s main building was struck by several bullets about 5 a.m. Washington time today and officials are looking for the shooter, a Defense Department spokesman said.
Pentagon police heard five to seven rounds in the south parking lot area, prompting officials to shut down the building for about 40 minutes, said Colonel David Lapan.
“There was some minor damage to the exterior of the building but no penetration,” Lapan said. He said he doesn’t know how many bullets hit the building.
Pentagon officials scheduled an 11:30 a.m. press conference. The Defense Department and FBI are investigating.
The Pentagon is located in Virginia, just outside of Washington.

So, every time the Pentagon is hit, it is an unoccupied portion? Is that because the people planning the attacks work in the Pentagon?

Just like that building (in Austin?) that the private pilot flew into that supposedly housed some federal agencies including the IRS that were empty at the time when the firetrucks just happened to be down the street, parked for the moment, that within 10 minutes of the incident the pilot was identified as a Tea Partier because the computer seized in his home (within those minutes) was known (OK, alleged) to have held numerous rants against the gubamint.

This was obviously a random act. The real kicker is the likely reactionary security "spin-up" that will occur "after the fact" for several months, costing taxpayers millions.

Simplest explanatin if you assume the shooter wasn't a crazy guy: he's a lone killer calibrating his rifle for firing conditions near the building. Wants to pop some heads later this year. I think you guys are quick on the conspiracy pedal, although it's alwyas useful to speculate you have to do it in the right frame of mind (aware of your own ignorance).

If you're watching the magicians hands, you have no idea what's really going on. Who knows "why"? But I do suspect that this message wasn't intended so much for Reagan as the power behind Reagan.
Never assume the obvious without at least considering the not so obvious. Something is "obvious" only because one has a bias that makes it "obvious". Why would you assume the attack was intended strictly for Reagan when he was so docile at that point? I never did. The message was the attack (as in we take out Reagan, you are out of power and Reagan is just dead) not Reagan so much. I personally think everyone was surprised one of the bullets actually hit Reagan, including Hinckley's controller.

Occam was with me this morning, a thousand miles from the Pentagram.
Occam's razor... I wrote this post a few days ago on a different site when someone threw "Occam's Razor" at me... Just think about the folks who lived around the time of Copernicus... how completely absurd it must have seemed to think that earth would actually revolve around the sun. In fact, it would be some hundred years later before this understanding became more generally accepted. Thankfully, along the way, the Catholic Church put Galileo under house arrest so as to quash such heretical views, at least for a time. After all, the church had all sorts of biblical evidence to support the earth at the center of the universe (and a significant amount of political, cultural, philosophical and economic sway... with a position to defend).
This may not be applicable here, or maybe it is. I think Occam's razor can be a rigid box depending on your view of the world.

Also, not sure if you remember this but we had some clown driving around with some kid shooting people a few years back. They had a car rigged so he could shoot out a small hole in the trunk, then they could just drive off & this would be very hard to track down even with review of surveillance video ...

I had a weird thought whilst wandering down Wall Street as the (usual) gob-struck limey tourist last year. This stuff is 50 yards from the main street. It's protected by some flimsy iron bollards. Further down there's a few bars - taxis can roll up. Goldman Sachs was nearby in some block or other (the guide reckoned).
Thank God I'm not a terrorist. It was just sitting there. All looked quite incredibly soft to an untrained eye. Maybe if I'd pulled a "comedy grenade shaped" cigarette lighter from my pocket I'd have been ventilated before the first toke. Sure didn't feel like it though.
